Not charging new iPad
I plug charger in but won't charge. However, when I plug into computer or other devices the devices recognize the iPad, just won't charge.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Any ideas on how to fix ipad after the new iOS 7 update? My battery will not charge, my ipad is hot to the touch, the iTunes Store won't open, and my messages on Facebook aren't showing up when I chat and pintrest won't pin to my boards.
If you have all your music on the cmputer then i would connect up my phone uncheck the Sync Music option and apply.
This should take all the music off your phone .Then you can resync the music back on to it.
If this doesn't work maybe a restore to factory settings and start from scratch is the way to go -

i can not charge my Ipad after I droped it,also the home screen dos not work, whats the solution?
Hard Reset
Press and hold BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
if no result try to back up and restore via itunes on a computer.
if wont restore try this
recovery mode
open itunes on computer
plug cable into computer not iOS device
turn device off
hold home button and plug cable into IOS device. do not release home button until an itunes graphic appears on IOS device.
look to computer should have message about recovery mode click ok and restore

Charge new ipad on macbook pro (mid 2010)
I have a Macbook Pro MID 2010. When I connect my new ipad using MAC OS X Lion it charges normally, but when I connect it on my Windows 7, it doesn’t.
does any of you guys know how to make it work?Newer mac books have USB ports that provide sufficient wattage to charge an iPad. Very few windows laptops have high powered USB ports so they can only trickle charge an iPad when they can easily charge an iPhone.
It is because the iPad, as has been mentioned, needs to pull 10 watts through the charging system to do a normal charge. This is why the iPad comes with a dedicated 10 wall charger and not the standard 2.5 watt wall charger that comes with the iPhone and iPod.
If you need to buy an extra wall charger for your iPad for when you are on the road or to keep at work make sure it is truly iPad compatible. I found a really nice two port charger that provides high (10 watts) capacity on one port and low (2.5 watts) on the other. So I can charge both my iPhone and iPad at the same time without damaging my devices or the charger. -
HDMI Adapter no longer charges new iPad ?
I bought a shiny new iPad 3rd Gen, and am having difficulties with my existing Apple HDMI Adapter, which, apart from the "This accessory is not supported" popup, will not charge the device even when being plugged to an iPad Power Adapter. Have any of you guys encountered this problem ? Any sollutions ?
Thanks,
DarieI don't have an iPad-3 but this makes no sense. It's just a matter of wires routing to the iPad. Perhaps you might clean the connectors by disconnecting/connecting several times.

Charge new iPad with iPod USB adapter 5V 1amp?
Is there any problem to charge my new iPad with a USB iPod wall adapter with an output of 5V 1amp? And is it okay to do it daily? Will it affect in any way the battery?

IMac will not charge/sync iPad Air - power icon oscillates between charging/not charging
Brand new iMac 27" Retina
Connecting an iPad Air (about a year old) to charge/sync/backup.
After the lightning connector is attached to the iPad Air and I reply "OK" to "Trust this computer", the charging indicator in the upper right oscillates between the running on battery indicator and the green charging indicator rapidly/constantly about 1/2 second between changes.
If I run iTunes, the device appears/disappears in the left menu/device list at the same rate.
I cannot charge the iPad when connected to the iMac (not a big deal, can use external charger), but cannot access with iTunes for sync or backup either.
Have tried cold booting both the iPad and the iMac, but that doesn't help.
Running OX X Yosemite and iOS 8.1.1Hey rspiv,
The reason you are not getting a consistent charge on you iPad when it is connected to your iMac may be due to not being plugged into a high-powered USB port. As far as making sure that it stays connected to your iMac so you can sync with iTunes, try a different port as well as seeing if you can enable Wi-Fi syncing if it stays connected long enough. Take a look at the articles below for more information and troubleshooting options.

Should we use a surge protector type power strip to charge our 'new' iPad? We have a 90yr old home with old wiring in our bedroom, but it is grounded properly.
Surge protectors, if they're good ones rather than the $10 "hardware store specials", are always recommended as a precaution. Grounding does not protect against power surges from appliances or other devices that can draw a lot of startup current.

My iPad is not charging, My iPad is not charging
My iPad is not charging!!!, it was charging until yesterday, but now when I plug the charger it's shows your charger may not be support , what is the meaning of this ? I change the another charger and it's showing the same. Then I reset my iPad and plug the charger again, still it's same problem. Anyone can help me for this issue? Why my charger is not working, now I have only 11 percent battery.
It seems you're not using an original Apple lightning USB cable or it's damaged. If so, you need to buy a new one in the next apple store or any other electronics store for 19 $.

How do I charge new iPad in car
Obviously the new iPad uses a 10w mains charger. I have found loads of car chargers but none that say they will charge the iPad 3rd Gen via 12v socket. Griffin has one that claims it will but in Apple store it stated its not compatible. I can't find anywhere even in Apple site where I can get one. So from hands on experience who can recommend a car charger that works.
Hi thanks for reply. Can u let me know the exact Griffin model and is your iPad definitely 3rd Generation.

Notification settings on iPad 3 are set properly but my new IPad does not get alert badges or rounds on apps with all notifications selected and in notifications center. Why? Others are reporting same problem.

Manage email notificationsDo you have system sounds muted? Check the button above your volume control on the right hand side of the iPad. If, when you change the button you see mute on your screen, you'll restore system sounds. If you see lock orientation, you can restore system sounds by double tapping your home button to bring up the task bar (most recently used apps). With your finger swipe those apps all the way to the right to reveal a mute icon on the left. Touch that icon and you'll restore system sounds.

Overheating, charging new ipad
Could the overheating and terribly-long charging of new ipad (and the apparent non-pervasiveness among new owners) be related to different screen manufacturers (i.e., samsung, sharp, LG...)?

Battery is not charging - New Battery
I have just bought a replacement battery as my old one reached the end of its life. After inserting the new battery and plugging in the charger, the message "Battery is not charging" appears when i click on the battery symbol. How do I set up my new battery? Or is my charger the problem?
Battery Information:
Model Information:
Manufacturer: SMP
Device name: ASMB012
Pack Lot Code: 0002
PCB Lot Code: 0000
Firmware Version: 0110
Hardware Revision: 0500
Cell Revision: 0200
Charge Information:
Charge remaining (mAh): 2927
Fully charged: No
Charging: No
Full charge capacity (mAh): 5482
Health Information:
Cycle count: 1
Condition: Normal
Battery Installed: Yes
Amperage (mA): 0
Voltage (mV): 11675I'm not too sure. I knew the laptop battery needed replacing so I waited for it to die completely. But the charger light wasn't lighting up like it usually did just before the battery died. I assumed it was because of the battery running out of juice. Should I try another charger and see what happens?
