Not Connected Exception during long operation

Hi all. My program does a very long operation - more than an hour. (import records from excel file). I create a thread, the operation runs there, and put af:poll on the page for changing progress indicator. So it's ok. The trouble is that I get
Exception in thread "Thread-90" oracle.jbo.NotConnectedException: JBO-25200: Application module is not connected to a database.
     at oracle.jbo.server.DefaultTxnHandlerImpl.handleRollback(DefaultTxnHandlerImpl.java:145)
     at oracle.jbo.server.DBTransactionImpl.doRollback(DBTransactionImpl.java:4872)
     at oracle.jbo.server.DBTransactionImpl.rollback(DBTransactionImpl.java:2429)
     at kz.kklife.insis.modules.policyImport.ImportRunner.run(ImportRunner.java:124)
     at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619)
after some time.
With default jbo.ampool.timetolive (3 600 000) it throws exactly in an hour after starting developer server. So I changed it to 7 200 000. But I got an error on a production server in a random time - because I don't restart it just before importing, of course.
So, is there any settings for weblogic not to disconnect transactions? (I get a transaction object through getDBTransaction() method of application module) I tried to uncheck "Ignore In-Use Connections" option, but it didn't help.

Timo Hahn wrote:
As far as I understand the framework, a transaction begins directly after the last commit or rollback.
So I assume that the timeout is reset at this point. I would not make sense doing it otherwise. As you already mentioned if you set the timeout to e.g. 2 hours and you get the am instance from the pool after 1:59,59 of initializing the transaction it would be stale before you had any chance to do something with it.Oh. I'll try to commit new transaction just before import, thanks. Need I do something like
  DBTransaction transaction = ADFFacesUtils.getApplicationModuleForDataControl("ImportAppModuleDataControl").getDBTransaction();
  transaction.commit();
  // -- do long running stuffor you mean some another way to commit?
I would set up a different configuration for this long running transaction (an other AM configuration) where I increase the timeout value to a higher number. Then use an instance from this configuration for the long running stuff only.I use another AM, only for long running stuff. But users can do import simultaneously.

  • Can I connect keyboard/mouse to shutdown Win2K when I dod not connect it during bootup?

    I would like to bootup even keyboard/mouse is NOT connected, but the problem is I cannot use keyboard after then. Can I connect and use keyboard/mouse when I did not connect them during bootup?

    When using Windows 2000 with default startup options, it will always check if a keyboard and mouse are connected or not. If it cannot find either of them it will give you a warning.
    If you boot the computer without a keyboard nor a mouse connected to it, it will not load the necessary drivers and you will not be able to use either one of them after boot up. However, you can boot with a mouse and keyboard connected, and then remove them. This way you will be able to re-connect and use them again later on.
    You could also use a keyboard/mouse emulator to start up your system. You will have to check with the provider of the emulator if this solution allows you to connect and use a normal mouse and keyboard after boot up.
    You could also try to find out how to c
    hange registry entries of Windows 2000, so it boots up without checking for neither mouse nor keyboard, and logs in automatically. This way you would not need a keyboard/mouse emulator, and you could try using a USB keyboard and a USB mouse. Windows 2000 offers native support for USB devices and they are hot swappable.
    For this last option, keep in mind that only PXI-8176 and PXI-8175 controllers have 2 USB ports. PXI-8174 controllers have only one USB port, as some other older controllers, such us PXI-8170 and PXI-8156B.
    Hope this helps,

    Can any body tell whether is it a configuration problem or any application problem. Also on the same server another j2ee application is deploying successfully.
    Thanks a lot,
    Gangadhar.

    Hai,
        Thanks Brandelik, actually the problem was coming because of java.lang.outOfMemory exception during compilation time.
         As of now I am not able to fix that problem. I am changing all the available options for memory settings.
        Anybody please help me how to set the memory parameters for deploying an application. My application needs minimum of -Xmx512m for deployment on oracle10g server.
    Thanx,
    Gangadhar.

  • More on Updating Swing Components during long operations...

    After reading thru a few posts here, I've come to the conclusion that what I need is going to be much more difficult than I'd planned. Neverthess i'll try to explain...
    I have a JFrame which contains a simple JLabel and JProgressBar. While I am performing a long network operation, I am making calls to a Thread class (which contains the above components) to update the JFrame indicating the current status. Normally I have no problem with this as the paintImmediately method suffices. However, when I call this long operation from the constructor of a larger, more complex JFrame, the GUI remains unresponsive (despite the plethora of paintImmediately calls that are executed) until the user clicks in the threaded progress box.
    Unfortunately the SwingWorker solution will not work for me as I need to be completely backwards compatible with JDK 1.3 (supporting Mac OSX 10.X). Oddly enough tho, I don;t get these problems when I use the same code in JDK 1.1.8 on Mac OS9.
    Any ideas?
    thanks!

    heh...looks like it was a simple thing afterall :)
    The JDialog (not JFrame) just needed focus.
    heh...is it friday yet? ;)

  • HP C510A eStation Printer - Zeen: Not Connected - Can No Longer Connect To My Wireless Network

    Up until a couple of weeks ago, my C510A was working well.  Every so often the wireless sync would fail and I would have to resync the Zeen tablet, or unplug/replug back in the printer to regain sync, but now...  Nothing!
    My Firmware is: ZEP1CN1130AR
    Printer IP: 192.168.1.74
    Zeen IP: Not Connected
    SSID: Visible
    Mac Filtering: None
    Security: WPA/WPA2 PSK
    Signal Strength 3-4 Bars (I can move closer to the router and watch the bars increase, and move further away and see them decrease.  So the wireless radio is on and functioning within the Zeen!)
    The Zeen cannot connect to my network and is never given an IP address, so I can't set the printer up with a static IP address.  It just keeps trying to sync with my network and failing.  Over, and over, and over, and over again...  I have reset the Zeen to factory using the Power On/Volume Up combo.  I have uninstalled my HP printing software suite, redownloaded the latest version of the entire suite from the HP Support site, and have installed the drivers/printer both wirelessly and via a USB connection.  I have powered down my wireless access point and powered it back up to see if that helps, but nothing does.

    I have numerous laptops (Mac and Windows), a Mac Mini, 3 tablets (WebOS, IOS, and Android), IOS and Win8 mobile phones, a Roku 2 XS, various TV's and Blu-Ray players, a Wii, and this malfunctioning HP printer connected to my network via 802.11 DB wireless AND a wired gigabit network.  I run a Plex Media Server on the Mac Mini which is my HTPC for our home.  The printer was working fine in this setup until a couple of weeks ago.
    From reading the many Zeen threads here, and on other forums, it's obvious that there is some sort of ongoing connectivity issue with the Zeen tablet on this printer.  HP has been conspicuously silent on the issue, and there is precious little to go on in the HP Knowledgebase, or in replies on this forum.  I've suffered through being hung up on, as well as trying to explain my problem to tech support reps who both do not speak English very well at all, and are unable to grasp concepts and analogies in English.
    My frustration level is HIGH at this point.  My printer is out of warranty, and if there is a hardware issue with the printer then I fully expect to have to make the decision as to whether it's worth repairing or not, but I do FULLY expect to be able to talk to someone in technical support who speaks English about the issue and try to diagnose and fix the problem if it's just a software/networking/configuration issue at NO CHARGE, just like I do with every other product that I own!
    So I'm coming here to try and find an answer to my problem before I reach the point, and it's very close right now, of totally severing ties with HP, Compaq, and all the rest of their subsidiaries both here at home, and at the company I manage (where I pretty much make all of the hardware decisions).  This just isn't the way to treat your customers.
    Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    When Zeen's battery level goes below 5 %; it tends to Reset to Default where it looses all the connections and sync to the printer or router.
    So its very important to make sure that Zeen's battery does not go to low. To avoid this I would suggest to charge Zeen regularly.
    You may try the steps below as of now and check the results.
    We need to Factory Reset the Zeen making sure it is connected (Docked) on the C510a printer.
    Once it is docked try the steps below:-
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02844556&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_us...
    Open the above link; and then perform the Factory Reset as shown in Solution Two.
    Once completed try connecting to Wireless and check the results.
    though I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

    Hi,
    I am trying to install IDM 7. Following are more details:

    Hi Harry,
    Thanks for your reply.
    To answer your questions...
    1. Yes, I am installing MySQL on the same machine as IDM.
    2. On the Locate Repository screen when I select the MySQL JDBC from dropdown, I am not changing any default pre-populated values of driver, username, password, etc.
    Anyways, my problem is resolved.
    Problem was due to the spaces appearing in the installation paths of the other dependent SWs like Java, MySQL, etc.
    Thanks again.

  • "Preloading" GUI / disabling GUI during long operations

    Hello everyone.
    I got a question that comes with two aspects I think. I'm working on a fairly large Swing-based userinterface. There are some rather complex input forms which can for example be split up into a number of tabs in a tabbed pane. Currently, these forms are constructed/instantiated, when the user performs an action (e.g. selecting an option from a menu) and I can already see some performance problems coming around using that approach. Are there any common ways to handle this, like for example to load the needed classes in advance or sth like that?
    The other part of my question is referred to disabling the GUI when there are operations involved that could probably take a "long" time (database access, or the above mentioned dynamic construction of GUI elements) during which the user should be prevented from e.g. clicking on a button. Additionally, the program should indicate to the user that it is still working.
    As for the second part, I came up with the "glasspane-technique" after some research, which I think might be quite useful. But the question is: how do I put all this together in a "real" program? Like when would I actually spawn the thread that fetches the data from the database or construct the complex GUI forms? Would that happen directly in the eventlistener of a button for example?
    Thanks for any hints,
    Jan.

    To understand background worker threading issues with Swing check "http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/concurrency/index.html"
    You can minimize the runtime gitter associated with initializing dialog boxes by creating new instances of the JDialogs/JFrames at startup. However, this can only be done if you can access the instance reference variables associated with the JDialogs/JFrames from your main method.
    For Example:
    public static void main(String[] args){
    //Get references to the dialogs that will be set to visible when the user clicks
    //E.g. optionsDialog = someProviderClassInYourProgram.getGlobalOptionsDialogReference();
    //Initialize the JDialogs
    optionsDialog = new myOptionsDialogBox();
    colorChooserDialog = new myColorChooserDialog();
    //But don't display them here. only when the user requests them.
    }If you have extended the JFrame/JDialog etc. classes to create your program's dialogs (e.g. public class myOptionsDialog extends JDialog {..} ), then you don't need to have direct access to instance variable references (e.g. optionsDialog = someProviderClassInYourProgram.getGlobalOptionsDialogReference();).
    Instead you can just use Class.forName("Fully.qualified.class.name"); for each class that you would like to have preloaded and initialized.
    So your code might look like
    public static void main(String[] args){
    Class.forName("mypackage.dialogs.myOptionsDialogBox");
    Class.forName("mypackage.dialogs.myColorChooserDialog");
    }Keep in mind that either of these approaches will increase your application's start up time.

  • Message bean does not start automatically during application server startup

    I have a message bean that does not start up during application server startup. I am able to successfully start the application manually using the visual admin tool.I searched the logs and found the following error. The error references the "QueueConnectionFactory" is not deployed or is not started. I have check and the "QueueConnectiopnFactory" is deployed. Is this a problem with the application trying to start before the "QueueConnectionFactory"? Is thier a way to define a dependency on my application not to start until the "QueueConnectionFactory" has been started, if so can how would I define this dependency. Please provide and example.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    I though the same thing, but XE LISTENER is running on localhost and port 1522. On the other hand XE have local_listener explicitly set to the very same connection descriptor. Even XE installation was second on this server.
    I've could change that yes, but the startup script doesn't seemed to have this mind.

  • Error - "Exception during parsing of upload document"

    Hi,
    I am getting following error when trying to upload data with my custom integrator:
    "The upload process has completed with errors. Press Close to return to the document and fix the errors.
    Upload processing did not complete
    Exception during parsing of upload document"
    My custom integrator was created for UPDATE mode with view AP_HOLDS_V and Release_Holds API. I also added Standalone Query (to limit downloaded data to not released holds and user releaseable). Layout contains only API parameters fields (however I had some context fields, but error message was the same then).
    I am quite new to Web ADI and I still don't have full understanding, maybe someone can also answer following questions:
    - what is mapping needed for? is this to map view/table fields with the layout field?
    - how does integrator know which layout field should be mapped with parameters of API?
    - is there no web adi template to modify columns assigned to interface? is this only possible with UPDATE commands?
    - where is bne log file stored?
    I would appreciate if someone can help. I was even debugging VBA macro to see if that error is on client or server side, but it looks like it is on the server side.
    Regards
    Piotr

  • Mac Mini will not connect to Air on bluetooth.

    Mac mini will not remain connected to Mac Book Air when pairing with bluetooth. Pairing initially goes as expected providing the code.  When pair is pressed the two systems connect for about 1 second and then system states that they are not connected.  I am operating 10.9 on the Mac Mini and 10.8.5 on the Air

    To my knowledge, you cannot connect two computers using Bluetooth. You can connect them, of course, via a network.

  • No app can connect except for safari

    Whether Its using data or connected to wifi none of the apps that use data or wifi will not connect except for safari. I cant even connect to the app store. It just started happening. There are no restriction settings on, I tried restarting my iphone 5c multiple times and nothing seems to work. Any help would be great.

    Have you tried resetting your iPhone?
    Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

    Hello Rachet Jaw,
    Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iTunes. I found a few articles I suggest for the issue you described.
    If you are getting a white screen when accessing the iTunes Store, I recommend reviewing this article:
    Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123
    If you are still not able to access the store or are getting a different error than just a white screen, I recommend the following articles:
    Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368
    iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.
