Not connected to internet message?
I keep getting a message "not connected to the internet". I am connected to the internet. I've downloaded installed software and I click on icon and I get this message. I've tried everything. Disable virus software, logged on to different networks. Hours spent on this. I have an adobe account but can't get to sign on. This is a big waste of money. Have never had this much problems installing software.

Somehow, since this morning, my Safari stopped working. When I try to launch any website via Safari, I get a message that the computer is not connected to internet. However, it is connected and I can connect okay via Chrome.

Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
Restart the computer.

2. Deselect Proxies if selected.
System Preference > Network > Advanced > Proxies Tab
Under "Select Protocol", uncheck any box if selected.
Click "OK" then "Apply”. -

If you are using Safari, go to the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab.
Click the Edit button next to: Other forms. Click Remove All.
Back to the menu bar, click Safari / Empty Cache.

Front Row movie trailers -- not connected to internet message?
I'm new to Front Row, even though it's been on my laptop for a while! Anyway, when I click on Movie Trailers, I get a message saying I'm not connected to the internet, even though I am (via Airport). I looked at Network Diagnostics as both the message and Apple Support site suggested, and everything is reported as fine (as I knew it would be; I can get to the internet with no problem). The only other thing I found in Support was for machines with more than 1 Ethernet port, which I don't have.
Is there something special I need to do to get Front Row to see I'm connected to the internet? Thanks for any suggestions!I believe you've encountered a bug with Front Row. If you can, try plugging in an Ethernet cable even if it's not actually connected to the Internet itself. Sometimes Front Row looks only for an Internet connection through the Ethernet port even if the port, itself, is not connected to the the Internet. I think the trailers will play through the AirPort connection anyway...

Come on now: "Come on Apple - sort this out!!!" might be on a wish-list somewhere, but which version 'crystal-ball' do you suggest is used to assist?
It is very very annoying, you're right, all round, but it is much easier to provide assistance and helpful suggestions if the combinations surrounding one specific area of the Universe that is affected can be minimised.....

Here are some things to try. Try to connect after each step before you move on to the next one.
Reboot your router - unplug from power and wait 20 seconds and plug back in again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Settings>WiFi>Off. Then turn on again.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. You will have to select your network and enter your password.
Settings>WiFi>Name of Your Network>Tap Blue Arrow>Forget this Network. You will have to select your network and enter your password.
Settings>WiFi>Name of Your Network>Tap Blue Arrow>Renew Lease.

Keep getting "not connected to Internet" message when trying to upgrade iPad software to iOS 7.0.6
I was able to install the upgrade fine on both iPhones but when I try to install on iPad keep getting "you are not connected to the internet" when I am in fact connected. tried shutting iPad down and restarting that didn't work.

'computer not connected to internet' message-ANY ideas why????
get this message every day, modem/router lights all on, phoned Virgin they say its fine, must be modem/router, phoned modem support they say its Virgin! It's a new Netgear router approved/supported by Virgin. I think it just gets hot and has to be turned off for 5 minutes and then is fine-any ideas cos I am gettin well sick of it!!
it was a virgin filter fault at their end-twits after hours/day months on their helpline

I have iPhoto 11 with Lion and when I try to post photos into MobileMe in Share I get the message that iPhoto is not connected to internet. Can anyone tell me how to connect iPhoto to internet?
My solution, which is not much, is to restart iPhoto and it then connects to the Internet. This has been an ongoing unsolved problem.

"Not connected to Internet" error message
Hi Guys,
Safari keeps throwing me "you are not connected to the internet" error messages. I'm running 10.5.1 and I chose the "upgrade" option.
The errors are displayed randomly on sites and if I get the error upon visiting a site, I usually have to wait about a half hour before i reload the site and it works normally. This is happening to approximately 20% of the sites I visit. I can view the same exact site in Firefox, but I also get the same error in Mail, Aperture (flickr export) and twitterific.
If a site (like Flickr) pulls resources from multiple urls, even though the initial site loads, the resources may not. For instance, loading Flickr, the page may load, but since the images are on a separate server (or multiple separate servers), the images may not load or may load randomly.
I tested failing urls in Network Utility > Traceroute and urls that throw the error message get an "unknown host" message. I assume this bug has to do with Mac OS X as opposed to my ISP. and that web kit is probably the culprit, as I'm having this problem on apps that use web kit to access the internet (firefox does not).
This error is also happening on my powerbook G4 that was upgraded to 10.5 as well.

It certainly appears to be, but I went and dusted off my old Windows laptop and internet access works very well, fast and snappy. Since upgrading to Leopard on my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro (oh yes, I was stupid to upgrade both at the same time) I have been so frustrated with this problem. Safari will tell me I'm "Not connected to Internet" while Firefox will happily load the same page. Mail will tell me it can't connect to the smtp server while tcpdump shows it not even trying. A half hour later it starts to work temporarily. I have tried using different DNS servers but it doesn't make a difference. The problem is definitely Apple Safari/Mail. Boo!
Please someone at Apple fix this problem quickly. This is extremely frustrating. -
Why do I keep getting message that not connected to Internet when trying to access amazon yet am very obviously am still connected as can access the apple site or banking sites. Have tried resetting.
I have tried everything I could to fix this, but some things require actually being on Firefox, and since I cannot get on, I cannot click on the tabs to do it. I have even totally uninstalled firefox, and that has not fixed this. I still get the same message that firefox is running and I need to close it or restart (which I have also tried dozens of times). I have removed things like Java, and that has not helped either. If I cannot even get on line in firefox, how can I fix this. I am not crazy about using internet explorer, but right now, it is my only option. I even tried to start in safe mode, and the same message box pops up!

Firefox will not connect to internet after upgrade. The window pops up but shows "connecting " in tab. And then it sit there. Close it down and then try to reopen it and get message " Firefox already running, Exit program or shut down computer" ?????????????????
