Not connected to the internet.... but it is?
Ever since I have updated my Mac to Snow Leopard, I have been having this problem when on the internet. Even though my WiFi is connected and my internet is working properly (I have a PC too on which it works fine) I will randomly receive this:

This is terribly frustrating and inconvenient. I have to just leave my computer for about 5 minutes until it works again. Why is this?
This is the Leopard Getting Online and Networking forum. There is a separate forum for Snow Leopard.
Plus your Signature says *Windows XP* so how could you be having Snow Leopard networking problems

when i click on safari to use the internet it says "safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet", but i am connected to a wifi network so how do i get safari to work?
you may be connected to the wireless network but the question is the internet working properly on the wireless network...
what i mean is that i can make a wireless network without the internet so i can save and share files and have other devices connected to the same network access them... but you have to make sure that your internet it running properly... may have to reconfigure the router is your using PPPOE or if it was working prior to your post then try to restart your modem... that usually resolves most issues. -
When I try to download the windows support software it is coming up with an error message saying I am not connected to the internet but having checked the network diagnostics several times I am definitely connected but it still won't work. Any ideas?
I get a problem like yours. I have a mac mini with 2 hdds the server and hd2 I installed windows 7 and the windows works fine. except it will not allow me to get on the net. I get error 651. I can boot back to lion and the internet connection works. I googled and error 651 does seem to show up. I would like a work around.

I can not update my phone because itunes says i am not connected to the internet, but i am connected to the internet.
Download the last IOS you need and install it.
Download iOS 4.3.5 Links
iOS 4.3.5 download (iPad)
iOS 4.3.5 download (iPad 2) (WIFI)
iOS 4.3.5 download (iPad 2) (GSM)
iOS 4.3.5 download (iPhone 4) (GSM)
iOS 4.3.5 download(iPhone 3GS)
iOS 4.3.5 download (iPod touch 4th generation)
iOS 4.3.5 download (iPod touch 3rd generation)
Step 1: Download and install latest version of Apple iTunes
Step 2: Sync your iPhone with iTunes
Step 3: From iTunes sidebar, select your device (in devices section on sidebar)
Step 4: Press and hold Shift key (Windows) or Alt key (for Mac) and click on “Update”.
Step 5: Select the location of .ipsw file you want to restore or load on to iPhone
Step 6: That’s all from your end, now iTunes will perform some automated steps to complete the installation. Your iPhone will restart once the progress is complete.
Good luck !! -

Front Row says im not connected to the internet, But I am!
I go on Front row to watch some movie trailers and it says im not connected to the internet, but im posting this.
I have repaired permissions and reinstalled it and leopard.
What can I do?It looks indeed like there is a bug in the Leopard version of Front Row. I have the exact same problem, after having just installed Leopard in a new clean install. The trailer browsing feature worked just fine with Tiger, in this very same Intel mini, but now with Leopard and with the exact same network settings, it keeps nagging about a missing internet connection. I am using a pppoe / DSL line, and needless to say, my internet connection is working just fine.
But now, thanks to the hint above, I was able to get the movie trailers to work now. The trick, or should I say the workaround was to stop using the automatic setting configured by Leopard during installation, and setting up a new location, with the very same details. You don't have to delete anything, just add a new location and name it to your liking, then add your connection details, and you're all set.
So in short, apparently one should use a manually set location rather than the automatic mode. An annoying little bug really, but fortunately easy to fix.
Hopefully the boffins @Apple are reading these forums, and this little bug is to be fixed in 10.5.2 as well. That is, along with the Mail SMTP bug, which was also annoying but easy to fix, eventually. -
When i try to download additional garageband sounds, it states that I am not connected to the internet but I am. How can I fix this?
I have a new Macbook Pro, OS X 10.9.3 and the latest Garageband that came installed. However, I can't see any of the new sounds in garageband??
Have you restarted your computer after installing the additional content?
How many drummers do you see, when you select a patch for a Drummer Track?
If the inapt purchase has been installed, you should now be seeing 18 drum patches and not only SoCal:
Also, if you open the "Lesson Store" view, there should be now several free basic guitar and piano lessons available for download. -
when i follow the steps it does it but when it gets to itunes it says 'iTunes could not contact the iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the internet' but i am connected to the internet ..?
Were you definitely connected to the internet at the time? If you don't have iOS 5 on your iPhone then the only way to update it would be via iTunes, once updated to the latest version of iOS you'll be able to update your iPhone without connecting to iTunes "over-the-air".
Before updating however it goes without saying to Backup your iPhone, this should happen by default upon connecting your iPhone to iTunes.

I tried to restore my iPhone 3G and I get a message that I am not connected to the internet but, I can barouse on the internet with my search engins.
It's hard to tell what password you are referring to. But my guess is you are being asked for the password to the iPhone's backup you created in iTunes. It sounds like you chose to encrypt the backup.
If that is the case, the following applies:
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and chooseset up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.
The above comes from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946 -

My Linksys WRT54GS says that I am not connected to the internet, but I really am.
The Linksys EasyLink Advisor is telling me that there is a problem and the internet connection is not working.
However, my computer and every other computer and laptop connected to this router can get on the internet perfectly fine without any problems.
Why is it saying my connection is not working when it really is? How did I get rid of this message?Probably you need to uninstall the software to eliminate that problem.

iTunes is a program on your computer, it is not "the Internet". The fact that the program runs has no bearing on Internet connectivity.
Maybe if a little more information was supplied, like version of the Operating system on the computer and version of iTunes, then a little more assistance could be provided. -
