Not connected to the Internet?

Various applications give the error message that I am not connected to the internet. Seems rather odd since I am typing this question on these forums using this same computer.
Overall problem is that the Weather app is no longer functioning for me. I do have windows to look out from and see in realtime, but knowing what tomorrows will be is something I would like. Anyone else having issues with the programs not working
and stating they need to be connected to the internet?
Network and Sharing center shows "No Internet access" as well.

Others have mentioned that one as if it was a connectivity problem but for me it was just a usability thing--not very usable at first. It took a long time to show anything useful the first time.
FWIW that is the only BING app which can not be removed. So I still happen to have it and it is still working.
Often "No Internet access" just is an interpretation given to a slow or incomplete DNS response, so you could test that (e.g. using nslookup) and even try caching ones that you need (e.g. using something simple such as ping -n 1 -w 1 hostname.
However, it looks like the BING apps don't use the dnscache and perhaps are doing their own direct lookups somehow. Then tools like NetMon or ProcMon may be needed to find out what is going on.

My 2nd gen works fine with WPA2 and AES encryption.
You may need to go back and start over. Reset the router back to factory defaults, log on as the admin, set up security, DHCP, and make sure the IP address pool has enough IP addresses to lease to ALL of the computers/devices that will connect to that the router.

I need to upgrade my 10.5.1 os on my G4/1.25 (I'm having some audio-midi setup problems), but it's a machine that is not connected to the internet. Do I have any options? Thanks!

OK, what you should do is download the updates on another machine and burn them to a disc. Start at this link http://support.apple.com/downloads/#leopard for downloads and find, among other things, the 10.5.8 combo updater that works on PPC machines, plus security, QuickTime and other updates. Going from 10.5.1 to 10.5.8, there will probably be a bunch of things that you should install. Being off the internet with the machine, you can't have Software Update sort it out, so something might get missed, unfortunately.
My suggestion is this: if it looks like you might need a download, get it onto that disc.

After installing Lion on my mid 2010 macbook pro 13" (7,1) I went to download extra voices and every time i am met my the message, "The voice ....(dots are where the name of the voice) can't be installed now because you are not connected to the internet."
I then installed Lion on a 2011 13" macbook pro (8,1) and was able to download voices straight away. Is there a bug with the voices with 2010 macbook pros and is there a way round this problem or am i going to have to wait for Apple to release a fix for it?

Ipad will connect no problem to other networks.

First thing you need I think is to get your iMac connected to the Internet.
Shut down your iMac and you iPad. Then power off your router. Wait 30 seconds and power up the router.
After the router indicates that it is connected to the Internet then start up your iMac and see if it connects. If the iMac connects to the Internet then your iPad should too.
If this power up sequence doesn't work you'll have to dig into the router setup to make sure it is working properly.

Try resetting your network settings.
Settings>Genenal>Reset>Reset Network Settings.

If you are the only user on your computer you probably don't have multiple user accounts set up and can disregard that. If you are using iTunes 11 go to View>Show Sidebar. Now see if your iPad appears under Devices on the left side when you connect it. If it does, click on the name of your iPad on the left side and your iTunes sync settings options will appear in folders with tabbed headings to the right.

Safari works great on my iMac, but not so well on my Macbook Pro since upgrading to Lion. I get a message that I am not connected to the internet when I try to open a webpage even though the wireless icon at the top of my screen shows I am connected.

Since upgrading to Lion I am having problems with Safari on my Macbook Pro. I am using wifi to access the internet and the internet works in all other application except for Safari. When I try to access a webpage most times I get a error message saying I am not connected to the internet. If I click on diagnose the problem, I get connect again to the internet through the diagnostic process and the webpage generally works. This is not a problem when wired to the internet.

Check your network settings, in particular the advanced setting "DNS Server". If it is by chance 127.0.0.1, make sure to change is and use a know DNS Server (from Google for example, or your own Router local address).

Usually it's because you are not making internet connection via wifi.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

When you click on the WiFi network name, have you also provided the password for accessing the network? You should get a dialogue box asking you for the security information the first time you connect.
If you are not able to connect, you might want to go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings.
Then go back to Settings > WiFi and select your network name again and make sure the security information is now entered correctly.
If you still cannot connect, power down the router, wait a few minutes, power up the router, with the iPad powered down the whole time, and after the router has had several minutes to stabilize power up the iPad. See if it now connects correctly.

I set up an wireless ad-hoc network with my windows vista computer with WPA-2 Personal security type, however, while trying to connect it from the iTouch, it keep saying incorrect password.
When I tried setting up another wireless ad-hoc network with WEP security type, and shared the internet through it, I can input my password successfully on the iTouch and get connect to the network, however, when I trying loading a page on Safari, it does not load, and say it is not connected to the internet. Please Help.

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Do other devices now connect? ( I thin yo are say no. In that case you have a router problem. Try powering off and then back on the router. Next try changing the security on the router. Test it with no security. The reset ther router. Last, get a new router.)
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
