Not enough memory space..PLEASE HELP ME.

Question

Hi, I wanted to update my iPod nano, but it says there isn't enough space. I have too many songs on my itunes. How can I update it without having to delete some of my songs? I have two podcasts, so I think that is what is taking up the room. I just wanted to be able to hear my podcasts on my ipod not only on the computer, so i created a smart playlist for it because that is the only way i knew how to listen to them. sorry this is so long but I really need advice!

Since the library is too large to fit onto the iPod, iTunes will create a new playlist that fits.
You can do it the same way.
Create a new Smart playlist.
Set it to limit to 3700 MB at random.
Open iTunes prefs -> iPod and select Automatically update only this playlist.
Update the iPod.
When you want to change the music on your iPod, select this playlist, select all the songs and press Delete.
It will get filled again, then connect your iPod and update it.
You can change this playlist around. For example, I also add My rating is not one star.
I rate songs I do not want on my iPod as one star. They will not get put back onto the iPod.
You could add to this Not heard in the last 2 (or 1 or 3 or ?) weeks (days/months) to keep your music rotating.
If you also have podcasts, set the playlist above to a smaller size so the podcasts will fit.
