Not enough space available for backup
I use time capsule to back up files on my iMac. I am receiving a message which says "This backup is too large for the backup disk. The backup requires 246 GB, but only zero KB are available. How can I remove old backups to free up space to provide a current backup. I do not need backups for files that existed a week or weeks ago.

You must use the Time Machine application to manage your Time Capsule backups and remove those you don't want.

Hi All
I am using RoboHelp for HTML 8.0 and creating chm file. I am using context sensitive help and the F1 key functionality. I have in the past created some map ID's with F1 and they have worked properly with our company software application. Now, I have a different database with our company and a larger help file and it is not working. I am told that the database should work. I also have lots of memory. I am working off of my hard drive which is where the .exe is for the company application and my chm file. I can open my .chm file. When I go into the application and press F1 where I created the map ID;s I get the message, not enough memory available for this task and also topic not available. Quit one or more programs to increase memory.
I have lots of memory and my file is only 598kb. I also only have RoboHelp and the application running. When I did a search, I found an article for a fix from 2004 from Adobe - Rb_46124 - not sure if this is the fix but the steps dont match since it is old.
Please help me.

Actually, if you were to use FlashHelp output, you might find that the problems are compounded, as now you have the Flash Player and all its idiosyncrasies in the mix.

HT201250 how do I delete files from my time capsule to make space available for backup?
I'm getting a "not enough room to complete backup" type message. I thought timemachine cleaned up its own older backups but seems to need help. How can I manually remove older files?

My old mac had a partition on the drive that I do not want on the new mac, so I am concerned about doing a full restore and prefer a file by file or folder by folder. is this possible? -
Not enough space to restore backup after upgrade
Hi,
Just upgraded a phone (4/4s) from 4.3.3 to 7.1.2 but I can't restore from iTunes Backup when going through the "set up iPhone" process.
Its telling me there isn't enough space on the iphone.
There is 3.27 GB free on the phone. I can't get into Setting on the phone at the moment because its in set-up mode.
To free up space - is it ok if I delete photo's from the phone via windows explorer ? If I restore from backup - will the photo's I have deleted be restored again ?

MaryDifficult question... I think you will have to set up your iPhone as a new iPhone. If your backup is too large for the iPhone, you won't be able to restore it.
I have a couple of questions for you:
- Which iPhone do you have, the 4 or the 4s (the 4 has a stripe next to the headphone minijack, the 4s not)?
- How much gigabites storage has your iPhone? -

Can't download itune movie, not enough space 6gig available?
Can anyone help, I have approx 6 gig of space available, but I cannot download a movie I purchased from iTunes, I get the message not enough space available, use settings to manage?
Both are true.
Your have lost of iCloud space.
The problem is you need space on the iPhone.
On the iPhone
Setting > General > Usage select Storage
See what is taking up space on the iPhone.
Delete what you don't need. -
"Not enough storage available" but that doesn't appear to be true
I keep getting prompted that there is not enough storage available to backup my iPhone to my iCloud. The thing is, I should have enough space. I have 15GB of space on iCloud. In my iCloud "Manage Storage" settings, it shows that the "Backup size" is 14.8 GB, the "Next Backup Size" is 14.9 GB. When I try to backup to iCloud, it fails because there is not enough storage available. I don't know why this is happening.

There shouldn't be any fee involved. Call the Apple online store for your country (1-800-MY-APPLE in the U.S. and Canada) and request a refund.

Macintosh HD not enough space for time machine backup?
I have a 128GB Macbook Air. When I first got it, I made a Time Machine backup of the system, but now when I go into the recovery and choose to restore from backup, it says the Macintosh HD only has 112 GB and that it's not enough space for some reason. Why would it have me do a backup that I can't Restore? I need to restore the backup.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It makes no changes to your data.
Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

You are looking at the amount of storage that you have available on the actual iPad (Settings > General > About > Available) and not the amount that you have in the cloud (Settings > iCloud) ?

My Lacie External backed up on Time Machine after the first back up but now says there's not enough room. I thought TM deleted old back ups to save new versions. What am I doing wrong. This happens to me constantly. Every single external hard drive I've purchased for the MacBook Pro (5 of them) has not worked either initially or at the second back up. It either isn't formatted properly so I have to go to Genius bar to help me set up for the first back up, or after the first back up, it says there's not enough space and I have to go back to Genius Bar. Is there a way I can fix this on my own?
I just purchased 2 external hardrives. a LaCie Minimus and a G Drive. Each 1 TB. The guy at Apple told me that would provide 2 good TM backups for me. My internal HD has 750 GB capacity, of which I'm using 700 GB. Perhaps the ratio is not great enough. I do wish they would have told me this before I purchased the two Bummmmer! I even had them format and get the first back-ups going because of issues I've had in the past. I also just bought a 750 GB for photos.
So, I won't be able to buy another bigger external since I've just purchased 3. Ugh. Well, I'll just exclude some files and divide things up. Eventually, I just want my 20,000 iphotos on one of the 1TB externals, and a TM back-up on another so that iphoto will function once more. It really hates how many photos I have and is brutally punishing me for it.I seriously need to do some housecleaning!

Just went to Genius Bar in Perth today and they told me how to reformat drive to transfer iphoto library over, but I got stuck at trying to back-up my TM. -
I just purchased a new iphone 4S and I'm trying to loan some music from itunes. I keep getting a message that says not enough space on my phone. I checked my phone and I have 5.1G available. I deselected all the songs on my itunes to try and get it to sync and I keep getting the same message. Any tips?

Resolution
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
1. Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
2. Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
3. Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
4. Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
- If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
5. Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
- Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
- Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
- Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
- Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
6. Restore using iTunes.

Nokia 100 (not enough space for new messages)
Hi!
From time to time i get messages that there is a text message that wants to come through but that there is not enough space. I then delete some inbox messages and then within minutes i get the text. However, recently it has taken much more time for the text to come in after deleting old messages.
And why do i all of the sudden get a message that there is not enough space, then i delete some old messages, and NOTHING comes through? Why am i getting this so-called false alarm from time to time now?
I really hope someone can help me with this problem!

Much probably that "others" data is taking the most of usage space.
So start to solve this issue deleting text messages.
If the issue persists, connect your iPad with iTunes and check how much space "others" data is taking. try to reset your device by backup in iTunes.
If still not working, I advice you to search ib other foruns. There are many pleople that faced this problem and successfully solve it

For a "hard" restart of your iPad just press the home and power button at the same time and hold it for at least 10-15 sec. until it restarts.
