Not enough space to install itunes 11 on windows 7 64bit

I have itunes installed in my windows 7 64bit laptop.. I encountered errors when i was trying to update it with the auto updated.. so i decided to uninstall it..  Doing so i also had some problems so i decided to read some forums and eventually was able to get rid of itunes components using the microsoft fix it tool. I downloaded a new installer and everytime I run it, it gets interrupted by an error message saying check available space. I have 27GB  free space on my hard drive. please help

Best solution to install Director 11/11.5 not to program files or program files(x86) in Vista/7/8 .
Create a folder c:\Director or c:\myprogs\director and install it there.
Then you will have not the security problems of system controled folders.
If you bought your Dir 11.5 in the online store, you should have a downloadlink in your orderhistory

  • Not enough space to install Yosemite, after I've already began installing it.

I have a 2010 Macbook Pro and I began upgrading to Yosemite last night. Before it finished installing I closed my laptop and went to sleep. When I opened it back up the installation process did not resume, so I forced it to shut down. Now when I turn it on it tells me that I do not have enough space to install it on my hard drive. I have been restarting it, but it will not let me exit the installation set up process, but now I cannot install it because I don't have enough space. It allows me to go into disk utility mode, but I don't have a back up of my system. Can anyone help? I would prefer not to lose all my info but I understand that this is a possibility. I just want to make sure I do the right thing if I can get out of this mess. If I go buy an external hard drive, could I plug it in and install Yosemite on the external?
    THanks for any help.

    Are you following these directions?

What you may have to do is click on the HDD icon and check the bottom of the display where the Permissions are displayed.  You may have to make changes there.

  • Not enough space to install Mavericks-how do I free up space and continue the install? Help!

I tried to install Mavericks but shortly after the installation initialized I got a message saying that I didn't have enough space to complete the install.  It asked to free up just under 1 MB of space...but I cannot get access to my hard drive.  When the computer turns on, it loads the OS X utilities screen with the following options
    1 Windows
    2 OS X INstaller
    3 Recovery
So, I cannot access the MAC HD to free up space or complete the install.  I am stressing that I am going to lose all of my data on my hard drive! Please help!
P.S We have boot camp and that works fine but cannot gain access to the MAC drive.

OPTION boot to select your OS X partition:
    Boot Using OPTION key:
      1. Restart the computer.
      2. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the
          "OPTION" key.
      3. Release the key when the boot manager appears.
      4. Select the desired disk icon from which you want to boot.
      5. Click on the arrow button below the icon.
If you have no OS X volume showing, then you are in deep doo-doo. You will need to erase the OS X volume and reinstall OS X. This would be done from the Recovery HD which you said was an available boot option.
Install or Reinstall Mavericks or Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
OS X Mavericks- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Erase and reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Not enough space to create shadow copy Windows 8.1

I receive "There is not enough disk space to create the volume shadow copy on storage location." error on Lenovo IdeaPad when trying to create System mage Backup. When I check "Disk mgmt." console all volumes shown to have 100% free space.
Does anyone have a remedy for this problem?

It's kind of impossible for all volumes to have 100% free space if you're running Windows from one of them, eh?
But to get more space on a volume to make shadow copies do this (excerpted from my book).  Note that this assumes you're using a Start menu replacement tool, but the same concepts apply when using the Start just substitute "Press
the Win key" for "Click Start".
Here's how to increase the depth of your System Restore history:
Click Start, type protection into the search box, and click
    SystemPropertiesProtection.exe when it comes up.
Click on your C: drive in the Protection Settings
    box to highlight it.
Click the [ Configure ] button.
Choose the ( ) Turn on system protection setting if it is not on.
Assuming you have sufficient disk space, increase the Max Usage slider
until you have allocated at least 20 GB of storage for System Restore settings. This will give you a nice, deep multi-week System Restore history if ever you should need it.

  • Not enough space while moving iTunes

I have a mid 2012 MacbookPro 13". I recently had to format the Hard disk and reinstall OS X. I took a back up by making a copy of my iTunes folder on an external hd. I have 250GB of space on my HD and the iTunes folder is about 100GB. But when I copy the iTunes folder back into my Music folder, I get a message that there is not enought disk space. I can however access that library on my external HD by using the option key when starting up iTunes.
Why can't I copy the iTunes folder over?

    Hi there dipshdutt!
While there are many things that could be problematic here, I do have an article that should explain how to get your iTunes library from your external HD back over onto your Mac's internal HD. That article can be found right here:
iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
Specifically, you will want to pay close attention to the section about restoring your iTunes library onto the computer. Another thing you may want to try is to make sure your trash has been emptied recently, and try restarting the computer to make sure the allocated space for trash on the computer is deallocated and available to use. Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

  • Not enough space error on ipad since installing itunes 11

    hi
i installed the new version of iTunes (V11) tonight but since then have been unable to sync new video files to my ipad.
The ipad has 8.61 GB free and I'm trying to add 8 x 235mb files to the device but each time it gets to Step 5 (determining tracks to sync) and freezes for a while before I get the error message that it cannot be synched as there's not enough space on the device to hold all the items in the itunes library which requires another 14.59 GB.
I've not got any music on the ipad and the status bar on the summary screen is telling me I've loads of free space. Could this related to the new itunes installed today?
    thanks

Computers will read a 2GB iPod Nano as having approximately 1.8 GB. (This is because hard drive manufacturers measure gigabytes in a decimal system, and computer OS's, Mac and Windows alike, read gigabytes in a binary system). You'll want to make sure your playlist is definitely smaller than this. If it is, and you still think you're having a problem, you can try restoring the iPod:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
You might also want to try changing the iPod's drive letter:

I have a windows HP computer with windows 7 installed, when I try and update and restore my phone, I get an error message of there is not enough space on your computer to restore your phone. Any suggestions and help is appreciated.

You need to discard or save to an external disk and then discard some of the stuff we all tend to keep forever (movies, music, pictures, docs, apps no longer used, etc.). A clogged up disk also does not function ideally either.

  • HT4946 cannot find itunes backup on my PC (win xp). want to move over to external hard drive to restore from backup bc PC not enough space

i just restored my ipad2 to iOS 6.1.3 yesterday. i have been trying to restore from backup, but i keep getting error messages from itunes (running latest version of itunes) that says there is not enough space to save the backup on the computer. i have tried clearing up as much space on my PC (windows xp), but there is still not enough room. and ive tried disk cleanup on my computer and resetting the ipad and running it through recovery mode (as some articles sugggested it would help with restoring after failed attempts). i read on another question in the apple support discussions that someone just moved his whole backup folder into his external harddrive and then he was able to restore from backup.
the backup is definitely saved on my computer (itunes confirms that), and the backup folder is supposed to be here  \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\, but im still not finding it with that file path. i get as far as "username" and then i dont see "application data" and so on. but when i try searching that file path in google chrome, i find it and i see it, but its strange that i cant find it in the "docs and settings" folder in my C drive.
please help! i just want to be able to move the backup folder to my external to restore from backup. thank you in advance!!

Thank you! I was able to find it. Im sorry, i have a few follow up questions. Does the iTunes have to be running from my external as well to do the restore from backup? And if so, how do I move iTunes to external and run it from there? Also, I just copied over the "backup" folder (last part of that file path to my external, is that enough, or did I have to copy it starting from the beginning (docs and settings and so forth)? Lastly, when I select restore from backup in iTunes, would it automatically know that it's the copy on my external to restore backup from? Or do I have to delete or do something with the original file path in my computer?
    Thank you!

  • Not Enough Space in iTunes Library

I just managed to restore my iPod Mini.. updated it's software etc.
I keep getting this error box everytime I wanna sync all of my playlist/smartplaylist...
"The iPod "iPod" cannot be updated because there is not enough space to hold all the items in the iTunes Library. Would you like iTunes to choose a selection of songs to sync with this iPod"
    Now...
    1. I have more than enough space in my drive... so I don't know what's this message about..
    2. I don't need iTunes to choose a selection of songs...cos I wanna do it myself...
Any idea how to get around this problem???
    Thanks..

    1. I have more than enough space in my drive... so I don't know what's this message about..
It's saying that your iTunes Library is too large to fit on your iPod. How large is your library? (iTunes will show the size at the bottom of the main Library window if you click on the main library icon at the left of iTunes)
    2. I don't need iTunes to choose a selection of songs...cos I wanna do it myself...
Set iTunes to manual management of your iPod.

    Thank you

Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
    First, empty the Trash.
Triple-click the line below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    find ~ $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 -o -acl \) 2> /dev/null | wc -l
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
The output of this command, on a line directly below what you entered, will be a number such as "41." Please post it in a reply.

  • I have 'not enough space' cursed Pages; even though I have plenty of room it refuses to let me download and install it.

Common problem, except all trouble shooting leads to the suicide of the question asker because it yields only claims that no matter what you say, you need to make MORE space. It's a 30 meg file, I have 500 meg free. I have deleted and redownloaded and rebooted about thirty times, in various combinations.
Previously I have cursed many apps this way, always free apps, so I just accepted they were 'dead' to my phone, even after iOS updates and ever since the iPhone 3 this problem has existed (ie: if you didn't have enough space when you START downloading the first time, kiss that app goodbye for life, it just WILL NOT download EVER.) and will either sit at 'Waiting' for a while then claim there's not enough space, or just sit at 'Waiting' indefinitely and progress no further.
The only thing I haven't tried is formatting the entire thing as a fresh phone and retrying, but that's pretty extreme. Has Apple acknowledged this bugs existance yet? Every support thread I see gets replies of "Make more space." no matter what the asker states and eventually the guy just stops coming back and asking, so they're all pretty much unresolved.
Just for the record, I have extensive experience with technology, and am not mentally disabled, so please feel free to talk to me at the level at which your inner voice talks to you, I assure you I will get it. So, can has halp plz? 8(
(PS: I cannot update to the lates iOS 7 as I do not have the insane size required for it to decompress and install, etc, and to do so would require deleting things I cannot lose or having to back it all up manually because there's no convenient way to do it otherwise. Although I can assure you that this problem has been present since the iPhone 3 first came out which was my first iPhone and has been present in every iOS update since, so I have no reason to believe out of the dozens of updates that iOS 7 has addressed this.)

I get error message: not enough space to download when I try to buy a tv series on Itunes. It tells me to delete photos or videos to make space, but I have no photos and videos. Help?

I would guess that a TV series takes up a fair amount of storage capacity. It is just a standard message I think that may indicate that you are actually running low on storage space.
If you go to Settings>General>About how many GBs are specified as being available?  If you are low on space maybe deleting some apps may help.

  • I have a ipod touch and i got it for christmas with an iTunes card .the problem is that i downloaded videos and now it said that there is not enough space and i only downloaded 8 and now 5 don't download how do i erase them.can  get my money back

i have a ipod touch and i got it for christmas with an iTunes card .the problem is that i downloaded videos and now it said that there is not enough space and i only downloaded 8 and now 5 don't download how do i erase them.can  get my money back

Whatever you read about iTunes is wrong unless you're actually referring to feature movies, not videos. Videos, apps, music and iBooks you can re-download:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
Download to your computer and then sync to your iPod touch whatever will fit.
And no, I can't say with certainty that they won't give you a refund, but it's unlikely. The most probable outcome, if you do indeed mean movies, not TV shows or other videos, is that they would set up an additional download. For other content they'll probably just direct you to the same instructions on re-downloading I just posted.
