Not enough storage to upgrade to ios7?

On my iPhone five, I cannot update to iOS 7, because I don't have enough storage. The largest app that would open up enough storage for me, if I delete it, is my music file. If I delete it off of the iPhone, will I be able to reinstall it after the update?  If so, how?  Or can it be moved to the Cloud (I have plenty of space there), and how would I do that?

Yes, connect the phone, click on its name in iTunes, then click the "Check for update" button. You should install the latest version of iTunes first, if you haven't yet. It should be version 11.1.

My iphone storage is full and I do not have enough storage for upgrades or to take more photos/videos, download apps, etc. I do have my photos/videos ON for icloud sync but not sure if I can safely delete them from my iphone to make room. And if I can delete them from my phone how do I access them on my icloud? I logged in for the first time and do not see where to access photos/videos?

You can't just store photos on icloud.  They can be included as part of a backup or when using photo stream to sync photos from one device to another, but 1) photo stream keeps photos for up to 30 days after which they are deleted from the servers, and 2) never rely on a backup to icloud as a way of storing photos.  (When photos are deleted from the device, they are no longer on recent backups, and older backups get deleted in short time.)
When it comes to photos, users should sync them to a computer for archiving.  Then they can delete the photos from the device, as the computer will have copies.
Photos in backups on icloud cannot be viewed on icloud.

    Hi karlos16,
For the error message you are seeing, I found this article:
    iCloud: Troubleshooting creating backups
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3992
"This iPhone cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud storage available."
This message is displayed when there is not enough storage space available in your iCloud Storage to complete your backup. You can either reduce the amount of data you are backing up under Backup Options, or you can buy more storage.
For the issue with the iPhone appearing to be unresponsive, I recommend this article for troubleshooting:

  • I upgraded my iCloud storage but my phone didn't upgrade. My phone keeps telling me not enough storage. Help.

I upgraded my iCloud storage but my phone didn't upgrade. My phone keeps telling me not enough storage. Help.

Confirm that you have no big icloud backups from your iOS devices
@icloud.com email is a big scorer too.
if you have many, many emails on icloud.com.
you probably should delete some of them or forward to a different email address you have. and afterwards delete those mails to have storage released
iCloud Storage depends mainly from iCloud Backup of iOS Backups, Mail Storage, Documents in the iCloud
contacts, calendars and notes are mostly not that big for storage as you might think.
music, apps and purchased items from itunes / appstore are not involved for calculation of icloud storage and they are not included in iCloud Backups of your iOS Devices.

  • I used to be able to have thousands of pictures on my phone and now after my upgrade it keeps saying "not enough storage" is there anything I can do? I don't want to buy more storage

I used to be able to have thousands of pictures on my phone and now after my upgrade it keeps saying "not enough storage" is there anything I can do? I don't want to buy more storage
It says I cloud total storage 5.0 GB available 5.0 GB so whats the problem?

iCloud storage is for backups. It is not associated with space on your phone. You cannot buy more space for your phone. Check what you have on your phone and delete what you don't use or seldom use to get more space on your phone.

  • I keep getting a "Not enough storage to back-up my device" message since I upgraded to the new software. Short of purchasing more memory, and deleting some content, are there any other options?

What are my options for increasing storage capacity besides purchasing more memory, or deleting existing content. The new software install used up much of my storage capacity and the message is driving me crazy. Any ideas?? Thanks!

There are two kinds of storage messages that appewr on iOS devices. Your question seems at odds with your description so there might be some confusion here.
If the storage refers to not enough for an icloud back up then you need to purchase more icloud space or turn off iCloud backup. You can backup using iTunes on your computer with paying for additional iCloud storage.
if the storage refers to that on your iOS device as in there is not enough storage to update, then you have two options and neither option involves adding more storage since the amount of storage on an iOS devoce is fixed. One option is to delete stuff from your device to free up more space. The second option is to complete the update while your devoce is connected to your computer running the latest version of iTunes. When you do that the update is downloaded to your computer and extracted there so it doesn't require as much free space on your iOS device.

  • How can I get all photos from iPhoto to automatically back up to iCloud from my Mac OSX Version 10.6.8 operating system.  Not enough memory to upgrade.

How can I get all photos from iPhoto to automatically back up to iCloud from my Mac OSX Version 10.6.8 operating system.  Not enough memory to upgrade.

You can't.  iCloud is not for general file backup from a Mac. It's for backup up and syncing data between mobile devices and and Macs and  The following is from this Apple document: iCloud: Backup and restore overview.
iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your (mobile) device using iOS 5 or later. Once you have enabled Backup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch .....
    What is backed up
You get unlimited free storage for:
Purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books
Notes: Backup of purchased music is not available in all countries. Backups of purchased movies and TV shows are U.S. only. Previous purchases may not be restored if they are no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.
Some previously purchased movies may not be available in iTunes in the Cloud. These movies will indicate that they are not available in iTunes in the Cloud on their product details page in the iTunes Store. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer available in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.
You get 5 GB of free iCloud storage for:
Photos and videos in the Camera Roll
Device settings (for example: Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts)
    App data
    Home screen and app organization
    Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS)
    Ringtones
    Visual Voicemails
But not from a Mac.  If you want to backup your photos and other important files I suggest you get an external hard drive and use  it with Time Machine.

  • Photoshop cs4 bridge, getting not enough storage message.

I have a computer that the motherboard died a couple of weeks ago. The motherboard and processor have been replaced as well as upgrading the ram from 4 gb to 12. We were able to use the old hard drive with no problems, maybe, just booted it up yesterday and am still working things out. Photoshop cs4 was installed on the computer and it seems to be working fine, except that I'm getting "not enough storage" messages when I try to do things I was able to do before the colapse. One thing I've noticed is that in the 32 bit version of Photoshop preferences it shows around 3 gb of ram available while the 64 bit version shows the full 12gb. Is this typical? and if not why would it be showing up this way?  I'm not sure that has anything to do with the problems with bridge it is a stand alone program now. Anyway, does anyone have any idea what could be the problem with this? Would uninstalling and re-installing the programs help?
Windows 7 Home Premium  64 bit system
    12 GB RAM
I'm not sure what else would be needed about the computer, let me know if there is anything else.
    Thanks for any help,
    Linda

Is the "not enough storage" error message showing up in Bridge or Photoshop? I ask that because it seems to be a Bridge error message and the Bridge forum could better handle that.
If Photoshop is giving you this message, check your Preferences > Performance and see that the ram allocated is not more than 65-70% of total and look at your scratch disk allocation in that section as well.
I would also consider resetting Photoshop's preferences. Sometimes that clears up problems, and of course be sure you install the latest CS4 updates.
I'm assuming you have to use 32 bit Photoshop CS4 (example32 bit third party plugins).  If not use 64 bit CS4 and see if that works.
I'd heed the upgrade advice as well. After December, CS4 to CS6 upgrade price will increase from $200 to $700.

  • Not Enough Storage message blocks iPad

I upgraded to IOS 6 and since then have not been able to use my iPad. I'm now getting a message that reads, "Not Enough Storage" followed by "This iPad cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud storage available. You can manage your storage in Settings." My options then are to close or go to settings, but neither botton responds to touch. What can I do? my iPad is currently blocked. I do not really use iCloud and although I have an account, there isn't much there. This is so frustrating. Help please!

    Try a reset:
    1. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds
    2. Until you see the Apple logo (very important)

  • Hello .. Why every time I charge the iphone is a massage that said not enough storage the iphone can't be back up

Hello why always is a massage on my phone every time I put it to charge that said
Not enough storage can't back up

I believe that you are being informed that there is not sufficient space on iCloud to back up your device.  iCloud provides 5 GB of free storage.  If you have more that that, you can purchase a storage upgrade, or manage what data is being backed up to make the back up smaller.
The typical memory hog is photos/videos in your camera roll.  You can make that smaller by importing pictures and videos on to a computer.

  • RDP session to 2012 R2 server comes up with "Not enough storage is available to complete this operation"

I've just set up two new servers in identical fashion which will be hyper-v hosts.
They both have  Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacentre installed. 128GB of RAM and c:247GB free, d: 1.9TB free. Resources are not an issue.
Only role installed is Hyper-V on both.
I can RDP to one server without a problem but the other is complaining with the message above. The only option is to click OK and this exits the session. I can log in fine through the Drac card of the server.
    I get terminalservices events 261, 1149, 40.
At this time I also get Desktop Window Manager event 9009 - The Desktop Window Manager exited with code (0xd00002fe).
The other strange issue which may or may not be relevant is when I enter task manager on the affected server, the User details tab has lots of entries (approx. 60) with no names and 0% CPU/Memory. This looks odd to me.
Any help gratefully received as I don't want to rebuild from scratch if it is a basic tweak setting somewhere.

    Hi Sir,
What I understood from this error was thata RESTRICTED amount of MEMORY allocated for particular type of OS RESOURCE,
    has got EXHAUSTED.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
    In both the cases above,
the resource type that was getting exhausted or causing other resources to be exhausted was a HANDLE. A Handle is an OS object used to get a reference of another object (like File, registry,
port etc.). It’s using these handles that a process will work with open files, read registry keys or work with a network port.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
    In both the above scenarios,
we saw a process (Non-Microsoft) consuming large amount of Handles. You can view the handles owned by different processes through
"Task Manager" in Windows. In the "Task Manager", under the Process tab you can add an additional column to display Handles information.

Instead of rebuilding , you may try to perform in-place upgrade .

  • Trying to update phone and keeps saying not enough storage how do i fix it

I have deleted almost every picture off my phone cause it kept telling me not enough storage. I am trying to update, but it won't let me . It keeps saying not enough storage.... How do I fix this cause it should have plenty now !

Settings/General/About/Available will tell you how much free storage you have. From memory you need at least 1.4 GB or so to update to iOS 7 over WiFi (I strongly suggest you have more than that, 2-3 GB is safer for the iOS 7 upgrade).
If you have problems freeing up enough space on your phone then update it via iTunes instead, that's both more likely to work without issues and doesn't require all that free space on the phone to start with.

  • Why is my iphone 4 saying not enough storage available?

Hello, when ios 7 came out I could not download it because I didn't have enough storage so I did not stress it. The next week I plugged my iphone in my laptop and it downloaded ios 7 and ever since then my iphone 4 will not let me take pictures, download apps, nothing and it keeps popping up not enough storage available, you can either buy more or delete some. So I deleted A LOT of my apps and pictures and contacts but still even with four apps on my phone it won't let me do anything. Does anyone know why? And I do not want to buy more storage because I am going to upgrade my phone this summer but still its very annoying, can anyone help me please? And thank you !!!

That's iCloud storage that it's talking about
    Check Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup.
Odds are what you see here will show a very small amount as "Available."

  • DHCP Split-Scope Configuration Wizard showing error "Not enough storage is available to process this command".

    Hi,
I'm trying to split the DHCP scope between two Servers using the DHCP Split-Scope Configuration Wizard.
Server one is a VM hosted on Hyper-V and is running Windows Small Business Server 2008 (I think this was previously SBS2003 and was upgraded at some point in time). The whole DHCP scope is currently configured on here.
Server two is a VMware VM running Windows Server 2012 R2.
I've installed the DHCP Server role on Server two (2012R2) and authorized the Server. When I launch DHCP Manager, add the SBS2008 Server in the MMC, right click the scope and choose "Advanced > Split-Scope", and then run through the wizard,
I get as far as the "Percentage of Split" screen, and when I click next I get the error "Not enough storage is available to process this command".
I've searched online for this particular error message and I've come across articles suggesting AV exclusions are not in place for the DHCP database and files, however in this case the exclusions are definitely in place and I've also tried completely disabling
AV on both Servers and this made no difference to the outcome.
I also came across articles suggesting the "IRPStackSize" registry DWORD needed to be added and set to a decimal value of 15 or larger. Again, I've tried adding this and rebooted both Servers but I get the same result.
    Anyway have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Craig

    Hi Eve,
No, there were no related events in the event logs. I've since tried splitting the DHCP scope manually but this did not work - the DHCP Server on the SBS would just stop and event: 1053 was displayed when trying to start the service again. I noticed
that as soon as I de-activated DHCP Server on the 2012 Server then the DHCP Server on the SBS would start again.
I then found the following in a TechNet article that would suggest I cannot have another DHCP Server on the network if using Small Business Server.
    Notes
A DHCP server running Microsoft Small Business Server will not operate if another DHCP server is active on its network.
Detection of unauthorized DHCP servers requires the deployment of Active Directory Domain Services and the DHCP service. Other DHCP servers do not attempt to determine whether they are authorized by Active Directory Domain Services before offering IP address
    leases.

  • XML Publisher report ends up with Warning: not enough storage is available

    Hi,
We have customized the AR Invoice print program (Invoice Print Selected Invoices) and have made converted the Oracle 6i report to XML Publisher.
We have around 13000 AR invoicesin the system and when i try running the report for around 300 invoices, it works fine. When i try running it for more, It gives a warning and when i try to open the xml file to see if it is fully generated. I found that the XML File is broken in between and gives an error "not enough storage is available to complete this operation.".
We have around 2 GB space in temp but we are not sure, why this is happening.
Appreciate your help. Many Thanks in advance.

    Hi Kesava
Can you check the $APPLCSF/$APPLOUT directory and see if you can see the file and its size? Maybe open it with vi or emacs and goto the last line and see if its complete.
You might also check the OPP log for this request to see if there is anyting in that log?
