Not even had it a day! :(

Everything was going fine. Setup the iPod and iTunes then when transfering the first songs onto the IPod I get "iTunes.exe corrupt file" and suddenly my iPod decides to dissapear and not be recognised by iTunes.
I read this http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300554 and followed the steps to update the iPod to restore it. However since it's new, it says it has the most up to date software and to remove it through add/remove programs and re-install. Which I did.
The problem seemed to have resolved with iTunes now recognising my iPod, only for the "iTunes.exe corrupt file" error to occur as soon as i attempted to transfer a file.
This time i re-installed everything, iTunes, iPod software. Still it kept throwing "iTunes.exe corrupt file" as soon as iTunes starts and never recognising the iPod.
I then used the restore function to return the iPod to factory settings. The restore didnt complete and gave a write error. The iPod wont turn on at all, except if I try a reset which gives a folder with an exclamation mark.
Ive read this http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61003 but updates dont work, it is fully charged and it still gives the same restore write error.

Right after a heck of a lot of trouble I have solved the problem (fingers crossed!)
But i still seem to have problems when transferring songs from iTunes. Whenever I attempt to update it with a batch of songs it disconnects itself during the transfer then reconnects and the transfer doesnt happen.
Anyone any ideas???

Well... too late :-)... as I said, it only crashed me once, and I really don't know why. I see that another thread is running, "Acumulating metadata" that I would like to stop, but it doesn't seem to stop. So far everything has been running smoothly, so I expect the 65% that still needs processing will end correctly.
If I get some problem I'll with smaller batches... but I sure hope this ends by itself. I still get the creeps of thinking of going picture by picture as I did some days ago trying to fix my library import issues...

I have not had any experience in getting any devices repaired so I'm not sure which store to resort to. An official Apple store should more than likely get you what you need, but I'm guessing it's probably more expensive. (if any cost for your situation)

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

I recently just downloaded the 'Waze' app as a backup for my Garmin. I've read a few reviews that seem to rant and rave about how good the GPS app is. It is community driven and maps are constantly being updated by users. Plus it has a few other fun stuff in it (something similar to Gasbuddy where you can owe prices on the map). But like the person above me said, there is lots of useful free GPS apps in the App Store.
Oh and I may be wrong but I remember reading an article about Google being slower about updating its maps system--ie no turn by turn voice, which many people have had complaints about.

Has anyone heard if verizon will be offering an exchange policy like they did for the iphone? I haven't even had my ipad 30 days and now the new one is coming out next week. Is verizon going to screw it's customers or allow you to exchange for the new one?

Verizon is not even giving the $100 credit that Apple is giving if you bought within 14 days. I called and was told I had to pay a restocking fee of $70 plus a reactivation fee of $35 so I could exchange and get an Ipad 2 and pay $105 as basically a penalty instead fo getting a $100 credit.
So don't tell me Verizon is not screwing their Ipad customers who just bought an Ipad.

I had the same problem and took my iPhone 5 into the Apple store. What happened was a little embarrassing. The genius took out a "special tool" (a paper clip) and began digging out an unimaginable amount of lint from the lightning connector port. After that I was able to connect the cord and charge without any issues.
A few days after, I realized that my problems associated with the remote/mic not working on my ear pods might be due to the same issue. (The volume and action buttons on the ear pods sometimes were not responsive) I grabbed a paper clip and began digging. Again, a large wad of lint came out of the headphone port and my ear pods have worked perfectly since.

Hi! I am having the same problem. What's odd is that a few days ago- the ipad was connecting to the network fine. No changes made. Other devices can connect to this network. I have also been able to connect my ipad to other networks.
I have reset all network settings, reset my ipad, reset the router, hard stop reboot, turn on/off wifi connection. what's interesting is that when i click the arrow next to the network i am trying to log onto- the ip address, router, and dns numbers come up automatically and the router number does not fill in (also- this process takes a long time- at least 5 minutes).
any thoughts?

Hi, I have a late October 2008 Macbook Pro Unibody which I wanted to use my Magma Expressbox card with. I had a Silver Macbook Pro before which this worked fine with but for some reason my newer Macbook Pro does not even recognize the Expresscard slot?

Highly anooying as I can't even use the Express Card slot at all, due to the fact the Macbook doesn't even recognize it exists. Has anyone else had this problem. If so, how was it fixed? I only upgraded my Macbook Pro due to the fact Ineeded a better performance but I still need my Expressbox1 to work with my UAD DSP card. Mavericks is no longer available from the App Store, so your choice is Yosemite. One option is to create a new partition (~30- 50 GB), install the new OS, and ‘test drive’ it. If you like/don’t like it it, you can then remove the partition. Do a backup before you do anything. By doing this, if you don’t like it you won't have to go though the revert process.

I tried the manual method. I was able to set the music/video to manual and then restarted the entire system. After restart, I re-attached the ipod touch to the computer. The sync automatically ran for everything that wasn't set to manual and it completed without a problem. I then reset the music/video to automatically sync and restarted the entire coputer/ipod set again. This time when I re-attached the ipod, EVERYTHING synced and there were no problems reported. I've never had to do this before, but I will keep it in mind if something like this happens again. Thank you for pointing me to the manual sync.

You can't connect an iPhone or iPad to a Mac via Bluetooth, except for Internet tethering.
You're not doing anything wrong - it just isn't a feature of iOS devices.
What were you hoping a Bluetooth connection would allow you to do?
