Not getting BI query variable selection screen for few test users

Hi,
i am having problem when i am executing the reports. i am not getting variable screen for the test users ID's. but i am getting the screen when when 0BI_ALL authorization selected.
i want role based authorization, and not complete authorization.
the parameters in su01 are scl(X) and wlc(X X XX X)

Can you please check into Infoobject Maintenance screen in Bex Tab i.e. Query Execution Filter Value Selection. assign "Values from Masterdata Table".

The quality system displayes values when query result is filtered for a hierarchy infoobject but the production system does not display any values and sometimes throws an error 'The operation failed because of a server error. See system logs.' There is no changes done for hierarchies in both the systems.
Please let me know if anyone has had similar problems.

Select-option value is not getting captured in at selection-screen on value

In Selection screen , we have Select-option and a parameter.
Based on the values given in Select-option, the values of Parameter should get populate.
To achieve this functionality,
I used At selection u2013screen on value request for <parameter> EVENT and 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST' Function Module.
But the Select-option values are not getting captured in this event,unless u press Enter key.
Is there any other way to achieve this functionality.
Please Guide me.

When you call function 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'. make sure you send it the name of the screen variable - the F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST function calls DYNP_VALUES_READ itself if you tell it the name of your report, screen number, and the variable name... snippet below.

BEx Analyzer : missing Selection screen for NON- SAP_ALL User

we have upgrade our BW from 3.1 to BI 7.0. Now we are testing and detect that Queries which are started by User who has user specific roles (not SAP_ALL like we as developer) this Selection Screen is missing. This leads to a complete selection of all data of the cube and this leads to very long runtime or auto logout.
What is wrong in our configuration?
Has anybody made the same experience ?

Filter value for variable selection screen

This could be a tricky or an easy question, but it seems too hard for me !
I'm storing version in my cube, and have a report which shows informations for the version you select (with a variable = ZVERSION01).
ex : Version :
V01
V02
V03
V04
When report is executed i have my variable selection screen (for variable ZVERSION01) which give all version [V01 -> V04]. But i want users have no access to version V01 & V02.
Variable ZVERSION01 is "single selection", i tried to filter with Default Values screen or Characteristic Restriction screen but it doesn't work.
ex : caracterisitic restriction screen : VERSION = !V01 / !V02
default value screen : variable VERSION = ZVERSION01
Any idea?

Hi,
In BI 7.0 there is Anaylysis authorisation RSECADMIN transaction. That you can use here or normal role concept will also do.
What you need to do is grant authorisation to the users for V03 and 04 version only and create 'Authorisation' type variable on version in the query. (type of variable - it asks while creating the variable). This way users will only be able to see authorised versions only.
Note you have to make version infoobject as Authorisation relevent infoobject. ( in infoobject properties).

# value in Variable Selection screen

Hello,
Can you please help with the below:
How do we remove # (Not Assigned) value from Variable selection screen. When I select PLANT in one of the report, I see # value. But there are no empty values in the cube. So, I am not sure as why I am getting this # value in Selection Screen. The seeting in Web designer for READ MODE is "Posted Values" and not "Master data or Dimension Table".

have you checked what Bex properties are set in the Info Object for "Query Def. Filter Value S"
Select Values from Info provider.
that might solve your problem. But ensure you're not disturbing anything else by changing this property.

Text upload in Web Template variable selection screen

Hi all,
In the Analyzer it is possible to upload text files in the variable selection screen but I can't find this feature in the variable selection screen for Web Templates.
Anyone has an idea ?

I read in some sap feature paper that it will come.
Maybe it will be possible with modification, but that's only an idea.

Selection screen for submit in BSP

I have gone throught the link to submit the program in BSP using varients, but i even want to see the selection screen for tht so tht user can post his own values over there.
I tryed SUBMIT with different options but i am not able to see the selection screen for it,pls help me its urgent.

the submit i have made it the way u told me..before itself..so thts fine..
but value which i get in first.htm of these dates is not getting transfered to the next.htm
thought i am able to get the value through the navigation->set_parameter...
really i feel this issue is bit getting longer....
i guess i used my ful day on it...

Interaction in the variable selection screen possible?

I have a query with related 3 variables: a Product Division is related to a Hierarchy-name and to a Hierarchy-node. I want the enduser only to fill in 2 variables in the selection screen: Product Division and Hierarchy-node. Is this possible?
If a enduser is entering a Product Division in the variable selection screen, the Hierarchy-name can be derived in CMOD with step2. But now we want an additional second variable selection screen for filling in the Hierarchy-node, which is related to the derived Hierarchy-name in CMOD.
Can somebody help:

Well, In the exit itself you can try ppopulating the hierarchy node for the second variable too. Think well, it is pretty much possible doing it along with the same code.

How to get One Selection Screen for all queries?

Hi Experts,
I have three queries having selection screens. All the selection screen have the same variables, but the reports are different.
I have created a workbook having these three queries. Each time when the workbook opens, the three selection screen pops up one after the another. Same values are entered in all the selection screens.
Now the user wants only one selection screen for all the three reports. Is it possible? I tried but I do not see any way.
I think there should be some way of getting it done.

If a workbook contains multiple queries that use the same variable, you are prompted to enter the variable values again for each query. To avoid this, set the Display Duplicate Variables Only Once flag.
Goto Workbook Settings>Under Variables Tab>select Display Duplicate Variables only Once

I faced a similar issue (for what I understand your request is).
My requirement for the Variable Screen was to do:
1) place a link to a ppt file
2) remove buttons "Save", "Save As...), "Delete"... the standard buttons come when running the Query or WebTempl
We were using a Web Templ for BI7.0
I struggled trying to find out how to do it. My conclusions are:
- WAD, not sure we can accomplish it using a Web Template but i did not "play" a lot with the Web_Template Properties in order to know
- XHTML, I was told in my post HTML modification was the way, but I have close to nil background in HTML and couold not find the way of accessing the Variable Entry screen
For instance, I had to remove similar buttons and change some font size from a link on the Web Template (WAD), which was pretty straight forward. In WAD the buttons come with its own icon and to increase the Font size for that link we used XHTML (<font size="2" >). But the heck of the variable screen...well, i just did not get trhough to it to modify it in any way.

How to not display unnecessary attributes in variable selection screen?

I created a input variable referenced Calendar Year/Month(0CALMONTH) in my query. But as I select values for my variable when I execute the query, all the display attribute of 0CALMONTH displayed in the select screen, just like Calendar Year/Month Text, Calendar Year Key, Calendar month key, Number of Days Key, Number of Workdays Key...But I think just display Calendar Year/Month Text in the select screen is enough, how do I just display necessary attributes in the variable selection screen, not all the display attributes of 0CALMONTH?

Cannot enter value in selection screen for Hierarchy variable.

Hi All,
I have a hierarchy variable on the selection screen for Org unit.
When i execute the report via Bex or RSRT i am able to enter the value directly into the selection screen input field without going for F4 help and then selecting the value.
But when the same query is used in web template and executed the input field for the variable on the selection screen is greyed out and doesnt allow to type in the value. Only way to fill in the value is via F4 help.
Can anyone tell why is this happening and is there any way this can be changed?

I am not able to select or click on the input field of the selection screen before and after selecting the value
CTRL+K doesnt work for me.
The display field is populated only when i select a node from the F4 help screen.
When executed from RSRT the field is highlighted and i am able to enter the value unlike when executed on web browser.
The variable is Mandatory multiple single value readu for input.
I found an article saying that for hierarchy node variables the values are forced by F4 value help as the values that are entered manually might not be unique.

BI report not displaying Variable selection screen on UI

Hi,
We have recently upgraded our CRM to 7.0, but the strange thing is the BI reports are executing without giving the user the variable screen.
Now the alternative to this is making the variables in BI section Mandatory and they show up in the report, but this is not the correct way.
Are we missing some piece of configuration somewhere.

Do you know how can I get the variable selection screen to display in BI analyzer when I execute the report from backend BW system and it launches BI analyzer. I know we can go into Add-Ins and from toolbar we can go into Change Variables Values icon, but I would like selection screen to display as default when user runs the report from backend.

Enabling Key and text for the Variable Selection screen

I need to display key and text for a characteristic when selecting the drop down menu in the variable selection screen of a web report. In the Business Explorer tab within the info-object, I changed the General Settings to display Key and text, but when I open the drop down menu for this characteristic, it is still displaying the key only. Is there some other place where this change needs to happen?
