NOT GETTING DISK SPACE WITHOUT RESTARTING THE SERVER.

WHEN I AM DELETING FILES FROM MY EDIT VOLUME, THE DISK SPACE IS NOT INCRESING,UNTIL I RESTART THE XSERVE. WHY? PLZ HELP

Cache? Are you direct attached to the Xsan volume or are you deleting the files through a network share of the Xsan volume?
Which Xserver are you rebooting? The Metadata Controller?

  • What does error message when trying to burn DVD from iDVD mean "not enough disk space to burn the remaining assets"

I created a DVD in idvd and now when trying to burn to DVD using external burner, I get the error message
"not enough disk space to encode the remaining assets". I am using a brand new blank DVD.
I have read the help info on computer but hasnt proved helpful.
    Any suggestions?

iDVD requires a fair amount of disk space to carry out the encoding process; depending on your project, you may need to have over 25 GB free space on your startup hard drive.  How much free space do you have?

  • Modify JSP file without restarting the server

    Hi guys,
I need to do small change in the JSP in the production.
How can I do it without restarting the server?
I have deployed the application as an EAR file.
    I use WLP8.1 SP3
    IS there any way?
    Ananth

You can try expanding (use jar util) that ear into temp dir, then make the change, use jar util again to create the ear. try redepolying it. Make sure change the jsp recheck and hit that page. see if it works. Incase if it works put the jsp recheck back to -1.
Note: This is just an idea, I never done.

  • Error msg: Sending of password for user did not succeed. Mail server responded: Not enough disk space - what's the deal?

I've been checking my email via webmail for a week and am back in the office today. Fired up Thunderbird, expecting it to pick up all my email, but it gets nothing and tells me…
Sending of password for user [email protected] did not succeed. Mail server pop.ipower.com responded: Not enough disk space
Haven't seen this particular error message come up in searches via google and at mozilla. There's definitely disk space on my machine. I'm running TB on a Mac (OSX 10.6.8). Disk Space options under Preferences > Advanced let me assign up to 1024 mb for the cache, which I've done, and cleared.
Has anyone encountered this before? Got a solve/troubleshooting process? Thanks!

Thanks. I do compact regularly (TB prompts me to) and did it (several times) via Preferences today to try and get TB past this error message.
Also went thru and Trashed + Empty Trashed as many messages as possible from the inbox, just in case. Still no-go.

  • File shares not be re-created when restart the Server (Windows 2012 Std R2)

    Hi Team,
We are facing below issue whenever restarting my server (windows 2012 R2 STD)
    1. File shares are invisible.
    2. Every time i need to restart server service to make file shares availability
Please look in to the above issue and revert if any suggestion.
    Regards
    K Sreenivasan

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you create a file share under File and Storage Services but the file is invisible. If you restart the server make the file share, then you can see the file share.
Can you see the file share when you directly create in Windows Explorer? Please check if you have enabled ABE on the file share.

  • How do I turn on -XverboseTimeStamp without restarting the server?

The execute method on the getDiagnosticCommand seems pretty handy for invoking things programatically. I can turn on verbose GC with this command, but how can I turn on the verbose timestamps so I know when the gc occured (without restarting)?
    Thanks

Try the "decorations" parameter to the "verbosity" command. Something like this:
    bq. verbosity change=memory=info decorations=timestamp
    See [http://e-docs.bea.com/jrockit/jrdocs/refman/optionX.html#wp1001095] for possible decorations.

  • Not getting my Outlook mail on the server nor on my mac, but it appears on my iPod.

My school has its own mail and its provided by Outlook, it appears that outlook was deleting my mails on that account every week. But I didn't mind because they were on my Mail on my Mac and so on my 4th gen iPod. Outlook has changed its interface and all my mails were deleted, now my e-mails don't appear on the Outlook.com page nor on my Mail app on my MacBook Pro, but I can see them on my iPod.
Do you guys know why this happens and how can I fix it?

There are two types of email commonly used, POP and IMAP. If you're set up as a POP account on your iPod, it's downloading the mail and it's no longer available on the server. IMAP on the other hand will allow all devices to see it by leaving a copy there. I'd check the school's instructions for setting up email and make sure all your devices are set up as IMAP in the email account setups.

  • How can I create hard disk space without emptying the Trash?

I moved everything in my Pictures folder into Trash, not realising the folder also had the iPhoto library.
So now all my photos have gone from iPhoto, though they are still in the Trash folder, which has not been emptied.
I have attempted to restore in two ways:
    1)  Through Time Machine (which has most but not all of the iPhoto library backed up, and
    2)  By dragging the iPhoto library from Trash into Pictures.
In both cases the restore action fails because during the process I get the message that the start up disk is running out of space.
One way to create space would be to empty the Trash, but I can't do that because I would lose the photos not backed up on Time Machine.
I was not aware of any space problems previously, so I wonder if something I have done in this process has filled up my hard disk?  But in any case, the immediate problem remains - how to create space (which will hopefully allow me to restore the photo library), without clearing out the Trash folder.
Thanks for reading this, and any advice will be much appreciated.

The following comments are really off topic because unfortunately they come too late to help you in your particular case.  They may even amount to venting.
The way iPhoto hides your photos in packages that are not readily accessible in the Finder—because you have to Control-Click and open the package to show its contents first—is the main reason I immediately delete iPhoto from my hard drive whenever it gets installed by an OS installation or upgrade.  I hate the "Libraries" paradigm in Apple's Apperture and in Adobe's Lightroom.
I much prefer the Adobe Bridge paradigm which is totally transparent and instantly reflected in the Finder, just as any changes you make in the Finder is instantly reflected in Bridge.
After years of trying, I've given up trying to find somene's ear at Apple to let them know how unacceptable iPhoto is (on so many levels).
Similarly, I have disabled Time Machine on my Leopard boot drive, preferring to rely on SuperDuper, although my main working boot drive is a Tiger volume.  Because of their intrusiveness, I've also permanently disabled Spotblight and the Dashboard on all my OS installs.
2.5 GHz Power Mac (PPC) G5-Quad; 16GB RAM; mutant, flashed 550MHz nVidia GeForce 7800GTX 1,700MHz 512MB VRAM; ATTO ExpressPCI UL5D LP SCSI card; Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 and Leopard 10.5.8 boot drives; Spotblight, Dashboard and Time Machine permanently disabled; dual 22" CRT monitors; USB wireless 'n' available but connected to the Internet via wired Ethernet; FW flatbed scanner; 2 SCSI scanners (one tabloid-size transparency scanner and a film scanner); various internal & external HDs; FW Epson 2200 and Ethernet Samsung ML-2850ND printers; 2 X Back-UPS RS 1500 XS units.

  • Project/Library will not relink due to "not enough disk space"

I have a large library/project that was copied from one drive to another so I could take it to a different site/computer. When I open the project, I need to re-link the footage. FCP finds and verifies all the footage, but when I select "re-link", I get the following error: "There is not enough disk space available at the selected destination. Please choose another one or clear some space."
I've checked the project properties and they appear to be looking at the right event. The library and all the footage is on a huge drive with almost a terabyte free.
I'm not sure why I should even need additional space just to re-link to existing footage.
Thanks in advance for any guidance in this matter.

You should do this from inside FCP. Only copy libraries from one drive to another in the Finder if you're using managed media, which it doesn't sound as if you are. I'm kind of guessing a little here because I'm not clear on exactly what you did for the media.
In FCP make a new library on the drive you want to copy to. Select the project and in the inspector assign a location for the media, either managed media or external media in a folder. I like to use managed media for this, because I can always consolidate the media into a separate folder very quickly. Once you've made the new library, inside FCP copy the contents of one library into the new library. When that's done confirm that the media has been copied to the correct location. If necessary run the consolidate function to make sure all the media is correctly located.

  • Disk permissions/not enough disk space Warnings

When trying to export tracks, on one system we use, (using an External FW800 1tb HD) with only about 50gb used, after I hit EXPORT on the menu, It tries to write, then I get a disk permissions warning/not enough disk space. ALl the permission on my disk are set to read and write. Anybody?

sorry for the multiple posts... First two tracks exported fine, then the third track generated the error again. I discovered that track had a / in the track name, which meant the files had a / in the name. Removed the slash by renaming the track. BINGO, problem solved. files on computers can't have / in the file names right... beware of the other characters not allowed.
    Hope this helps someone.
