Not getting full duplex throughput on WRT54GL

So here's the situation. I am on a university network that gives us a 10Mbps HALF duplex connection when using auto-negotiate, so we effectively get a 1Mbps connection. I can manually change the duplex setting on my network card to "full duplex" and then I get a solid 10Mbps connection.
Now I am attempting to use a WRT54GL with this connection. I have configured the router for "full duplex," but whether I am connected through wired or wireless to the router, I consistently get only 1Mbps throughput. Is there any additional setting or hack I can do to force the router to use full duplex with its WAN connection to the campus network?

Snow base station next to imac - yet not getting full strength reception?

I have my snow base station sitting about 1 foot from my imac, yet only 3 out of the four bars are dark. Meaning I'm not getting full reception? Why is this is? I can't say I notice a significant difference in internet usage, but every little bit helps. I only have a cordless 5.8 ghz phone and my Harmon Kardon soundsticks speakers on the same desk. But from what I understand, 5.8 ghz are not supposed to interfere with cordless internet.
Any suggestions?

Duane, I've tried every channel and no improvement. The only thing I have discovered is if I hold the base station in my hand and lift it up above my head - I get full signal strength. However, if I hold it up and place it against the wall (as though I were to hang it), it drops back down to three bars.
Do you think if I got the newest airport express, my signal strength would be better? Or do you think a more insulated ethernet cable would help? Or could it be my imac airport card?

PE4 freezes - "Your card may not support full duplex"

Brand new Dell Studio 17 laptop
Vista Home Premium 32 bit
I open PE4, start a new project, bring in a couple of MP4 files. Then when I try to play it gives me an error message: "Playback failed. The audion system does not seem to respond. Maybe the card does not support full duplex."
PE4 then freezes, and I have to ctrl-alt-delete to close.
Audio works fine everywhere else, until I try to run PE4. Then the card is dead and nothing works.
Any suggestions?

"Tried it with PE3 as well, same thing." Are you saying that you installed PE3 on the Studio 17 and got the same error message when you tried to play MP4 or JPEGS on the Timeline? If so, did you install the Premiere Elements 3.0.2 update for Premiere Elements 3 before you got started? I do not believe that Premiere Elements 3 by itself was ever Vista compatible.

I would like to see the specific online links that Dell T/S cited to Kevin for claiming an Adobe/Vista (non Dell) issue. Would it be a good idea for you and Kevin to compare features (especially video and audio cards as well as drivers) of your Studio 17?
The result of Kevin's contact with Adobe re: this matter, should be interesting, and I am looking forward to their spin. As far as I know there are users out there using Premiere Elements 4 with a Vista Home Premium operating system. Hopefully other forum users here will address that point and correct me if I have misspoke about that.

Not getting full Gigabit Ethernet Speed on iMac Core Duo

I am using Airport to connect to a Linksys Wireless Access Point connected to my DSL modem. I am using ethernet to connect to a 3Com OfficeConnect 8-port Gigabit switch. I have 2x 500 GB LaCie Ethernet Disk Mini's (with Gigabit interface) connected to the switch.
The lights on the switch tell me that the drives and iMac are connected at full speed, however I can transfer a 650MB .dmg file to a firewire 400 drive in 1/4 of the time it takes to transfer the same file to one of the gigabit ethernet drives.

If you are transferring data via wireless then you cannot approach Gigabit Ethernet speed. 802.11g has a maximum transfer speed of 54 Mbps while 802.11n is about 130 Mbps. This is much slower than a FW400 port. Your router and switch must both be Gigabit capable and your drive must be connected to Ethernet to even hope to achieve Gigabit speeds - no wireless.

Can not config full duplex on Gi0/1 of WS-C2960-24TC-L

I have a problem when connect two modules GLC-FX-100FE to two switch WS-C2960-24TC-L as below:
When I plug each SFP module like above to each switch WS-C2960-24TC-L to SFP slot (gigabit 0/1: dual purpose port), then the duplex become to Haft.
So, I can not configure them to full duplex as other copper ports.
But when I use two switch WS-C3560G-24TS-S, I can do this.
OS version of WS-C2960-24TC-L I am using is: c2960-lanbasek9-mz.122-55.SE7.bin, I think it is new.
Please help me solve this problem.

in interface configuration mode you have to configure
media-type sfp
Afterwards you can configure media-specific parameters like the duplex mode.
Note: Changing the media-type will cause an outage for a couple of seconds.

Not getting full 5.1 sound

Hi,
I have a set of Logitech x540 (5.1) speakers hooked up to the integrated sound card on my Pavilion p7 1003w desktop. The problem is I can't get full 5.1 sound out of them. When I right click on the speak icon in the system tray and configure for 5.1 sound, I only get sound out of the front left and right speakers when I click on the Test button, no rear or subwoofer sounds. Can anyone suggest a fix? Thanks

I just started up ATV and restarted it. When it started up there was an HD 'short' that did light up the Dolby on on my receiver. Actually, this morning I did a software update and when it restarted I got that same 'short' and I'm almost positive that it was 5.1 Surround Sound. I checked it with the HD Trailers, but apparently they're not 'Surround'. I'm just going to watch 'Fantastic Four', I would think it has to work if 'FF' is Dolby Surround.

Not getting Full LTE reception

I get 2 to 3 bars tops in 21136, yet going down the street to 21117, i get full LTE. Can this be corrected?

Just because the speed is different does not mean you are on a different tower. You said you are just down the street from where you were getting a stronger signal. This does not mean you are on a different tower. You could possibly be on the same tower, just further away from it and therefore a weaker signal.
Normally, your phone will connect with the tower which has the strongest signal for the area. As you move from one area to another and the signal from a different tower becomes stronger, your phone will switch over to the other tower.

Not getting full Window for iTunes Store

I have the "Use full window for iTunes Store" selected and it's not working. It is causing most front page section links to not work also. I figured this was some kind of bug because today when I started iTunes it was back at the full window for the first time in months. Then when I clicked on TV Shows it went back to the partial window and links to some items would not work on the main page. I`ve tried uninstalling but nothing seems to work. I can deal with the store in a partial window but hate when the links don`t work. Any ideas?

I fooled around and figured out that it is Roboform password manager that is causing this problem. When I exit the program from the tray icon and start iTunes and move into the store I get full window and all links work.

Info Cube not getting full records

Hi All,
I am extracting data from the flat file (60k records..of which most fields have binary values),, am getting the values into data source..but when loading from data source to info cube am not getting total records..
the load is successful and it is showing as transferred 60k records and added 510 records in the manage tab of the info cube.
what would be the problem ....any help is appreciated.

The interface 0/0 is not in full duplex mode WAE-7326

have configured the WAE7326 as a Central manager, so no inline. interfaces, running ver 4.0.9.b.10 comes up with the above message,
now what is interface 0/0 as only have gi 1/0 and 2/0, 2/0 is shutdown, and the primary inreface 1/0 is connected to a gigabit port on the 6500 and doing a sh int says running 1000Mbps and full duplex on the switch and the WAE 7326

It's hard to say without knowing the specifics of your deployment. In general we recommend that you run the latest version, but adequate lab validation and testing should be done first.

when click on bookmarked item - only get part of a page not full page? Why? how do I get the full page from clicking on a bookmark?

How are you saving a new bookmark?
There 5 ways to save a new Bookmark in Firefox, the first 4 should offer to save the new bookmark in a folder:

Imovie to Idvd, not getting full 'movie'

I don't know if this is an Imovie 8.0.5 (09) issue or an Idvd 7.0 issue, but it is really about to kick my #$#.... here is the problem:
i've created a slide show "movie" in Imovie using slide shows from Iphoto 8.1.1 (09), no chapters, just the one full hour of slides with music.( i don 't know how to make chapters anyway. this is a first time project for me) ... SOMEWAY. i did it RIGHT the first time!! ... however, there were a few mistakes in the finished project, so i had to re-edit and do it again... here is where the problem starts: I did it again... exported and imported into IMovie, added the music tracks and 'shared' to Idvd, then to Media browser. Opened in IDVD ( there has to be an easier way, but this is the way i was told to do it) when it opened in idvd... only 15 minutes of the 'movie' was there. it's not as if it only transferred one clip... because where it stops isn't even at the end of a clip.... i have done it 5-6 times now and still the same outcome. WHAT am i missing??? the finished project should be 3.89 GB but the one i keep getting is 536.2 MB. i have 79.6 GB free on my hard drive......anyone???

i had done a trial export to imusic to see what would happen...the same way i did to idvd, and the entire clip went there.
i'll give it a shot.. at this point, i'd stand on my head while whistling dixie if that would work!!
i thought it was maybe my placement of the file when i place it in my 'theme'. i tried that, but it didn't do anything... that would have been the easy fix!
so, now another couple of hours for export and we'll see if that did it....

Do I not get full versions of the CC software when I buy a CC membership?

So I bought my CC membership back in January I think. And the first thing I did was install Premiere Pro CC. I needed it. Now about a month later, I need it again, and it says that I'm on a trial version. I signed into my CC, and tried again, but it still tells me I'm on a trial. The same thing happens with Speedgrade. Apparently after paying for 2 months of subcription, I can only use a 30 day trial version of the software I need. Is this a normal thing? Or should I call adobe, and get this fixed? I'd really really like to have working software on my computer, and I'm spending the money to have it. I'm in college, and on a pretty tight budget, so if I don't get actual versions of the software, I'm going to cancel my subscription. Nowhere on the literature on the CC does it say that you only get access to 30 day trials of most of the software. Please give me a hand here. I need to know if I should end my subscription or not.

Not getting full features on logic pro x

I have just bought logic pro x and not all the features are available eg. time sig changing, command mouse function, top bar functions etc (as shown in picture) it almost looks like a LE version or something and i have paid for the full version. Anyone know why?

Turn on All the Advanced Tools in Logic's preferences/Advanced Tools tab
Right/Control clicking on the transport bar will then, for example give you full access to all the various options for use/display there..
