Not identifying any airport

hi there, my airport software is not recognizing any airport and timecapsule that i have in my network.....
only my iphone and my notebook (PC) do....
do you have any tip?
When I need to configure something....need to be done im my pc...and not in my macpro....

You MUST have ipv6 set to link-local for the v6 utility to work.
So go into your network preferences for both wireless and ethernet (if you use it) and set ipv6 correctly.

Faces will not identify any of my photos

I recently installed iLife '09 and have gone through the Faces "Get Started". I have chosen two faces that are fairly common among all of my photos and added 5 for the cork board. Faces has yet to identify any of the others remaining in my library, instead the little wheel just spins and spins.

I am having a similar difficulty. Here are my specifics: I had over 15,000 photos in my iPhoto'08 Library. I upgraded to iPhoto '09. It scanned for hours and came up with over a 100 places. The Faces was 0 as I hadn't identified any of the faces in my photos. I identified about 8 faces. When I double clicked into any of the faces on the cork board, all I saw was the spinning wheel presumably looking for matching Faces. I opened up iPhoto on a few different days and let the spinning wheel go and go. No suggested matches. Today I decided to listen to the introductory video and while it was playing the Face open on the corkboard actually populated the screen with a couple of hundred suggested matches. It was amazing and so accurate. Completely thrilling. I reviewed the suggestions, confirmed most, declined some and left some unconfirmed. (There are many more photos of that Face in my library but it was thrilling to see the ones that it had found.) Clicked "Done" and then went into the Events folder to look at some other photos. When I went back to the same Face, I expected to see the confirmed faces up top and the ones that I had neither confirmed nor declined below the line. The confirmed photos were above but nothing was below the line. I tried another Face and there were no suggested matches. I closed iPhoto and relaunched it. The same situation. I went into the discussions forum, saw Old Toad's suggestion to AltCmdreopen iPhoto to rebuild the database. Did it and all of the faces info was missing. After gnashing my teeth, I went into a photo to identify a face and I was not given a face box/name label on a photo with an obvious face. I added the face, identified it. Did a couple of the same face and went into faces. It immediately said no matches. It was the same face that iPhoto found so many faces for initially. I did the rebuild again and same situation. So there is my long detailed response. I think that iPhoto has potential and can clearly identify faces but something is wrong with it.

There is no standard Airport Extreme card socket in a Mac mini that didn't ship with an Airport Extreme and/or Bluetooth interface factory installed.
To add an Airport Extreme card to a Mac mini, you need to buy an adapter card for the logic board (which provides the actual Airport Extreme card slot) and an antenna. All required parts are provided by the Mac mini Airport Upgrade Kit (part number M9870Z/A) which is available for around $100 - do a web search on that part number. Note that Apple does not support "end users" doing this upgrade (it will void your warranty) - only Apple service centers are supposed to do it. You might first enquire from your local Apple dealer how much they would charge for the kit plus installation - the extra labor cost might be worth the grief you save trying to do it yourself.

The only option would be to connect the AirPort to your existing network by wire. Most, if not all non-AirPort routers, will not be WDS compatible.

I just bought an airport express and I am in the process of configuring but my mac does not detect any airport devise. internet is working wirelessly and the airport is plugged next to the mac. any clue how can I fix this?

You don't mention what function you want the AirPort Express to accomplish.
If you are trying to configure it to "join" your existing wireless network, you need to know the exact type of security that your wireless network is using fo you can use that same information to provide the correct settings to the AirPort Express.
You may be getting a message that the settings have been stored successfully, but unfortunately the settings that you have provided to the Express are likely the wrong settings.
The only way that you really know if the settings that you entered were correct is if you get a green light 20-30 seconds after you click Update. If you don't get a green light on the Express, the settings that you provided were not the correct settings.
When you click Update, the Express will "disappear". This is normal. Up until the time that you click update, AirPort Utility is communicating to the Express on a wireless network with a name like Apple Network xxxxxxx. As soon as you click Update, the Express switches (or tries to switch) to another network, so of course it will disappear from the AirPort Utility window.
As soon as you click Update, close AirPort Utility. There is no reason to keep watching a window when the Express will never appear.

Airport utility does not find any airport and time capsule hardware

Hi, I have 4 airport expresses (2 for music and one for extending network) and a time capsule that also acts as my wifi router. The expresses have always appeared and disappeared from the express utility, while the TC is always listed. Now airport utility cannot find find any of them, and after many rescans, and a few "successful" hard reboots (in the sense that they were configured, but then disappeared again), still does not see them. The strange thing is that the TC has to be working because this computer is hooked up to the internet via the wifi router, and it is working fine. Any ideas? The expresses are not that big of a deal, as I can always plug an ipod to play music, but they used to work. I am on 5.4.2 on the utility, having rolled it back a few months ago when some of these problems begain. thanks

It sounds like you are trying to scan for and configure your Apple devices using wireless. If you haven't tried this yet, I think you will have much better luck if you connect an ethernet cable directly from your computer to the device that you are trying to "see".
If this does not work at first, it may help to power down both your computer and the device, then connect the ethernet cable and power the computer and device back up.

Itunes does not identify any of my ipods

I've already read every post and tried the 5 Rs. My 5thG ipod, when plugged into my ibook connects with no problem. It's when I try to connect it to my main G5 Power Mac when I get nothing. My itunes does open at all. I even tried hooking my older ipod to my computer with no luck. Weird. Itunes working fine a week ago, now nothing!
So my problem isn't the ipod, its itunes. Perhaps a corrupt file. I've trashed itunes and reinstalled, but that didn't work either. (I think I need to do a complete clean install which I'm not sure how to do...is there preference files I can delete?)
Any help would be greatly appreciated, like I said, I've read the posts and can't figure this one out. If the only option is a clean install can someone walk me through how to uninstall all of my files from itunes so I can start clean?

Are both Macs running the same system version. You show 10.4.1. Is there a reason to not update to 10.4.8? Which version on iTunes are you using?
You don't say what the problem is on the iTunes reinstall. To reinstall iTunes you also need to remove the iTunesX.pkg receipt located at HD>Library>Receipts>iTunesX.pkg to the trash.
You should also have your iTunes b/u including the iTunes Library file and the .xml file.

Blckberry Curve 8300 not identifying ANY Network

I was using my phone fine up until everything on it just stopped. When I turned it off then back on it stopped identifying the network. I went into "Manage Networks" to manually search for network but still no luck. (my service providers network is up and running fine) .............HELP PLEASE!!!

Here's what I did
1) Backed up my device
2) Downloaded the "old" software package from Blackberry's carrier-specific location
3) Using Windows Add/Remove, removed the "new" software from the system.
4) Ran the install for the "old" software.
5) connected the BB and opened Device Manager
6) Started the App Loader
7) When you get the message that the software on the computer is older than the software on your device, make the selection that instructs the computer to install the software from the PC.
8) Watch it happen. The whole process took close to 30 minutes as I recall.
But since I downgraded, my unit has not lost connection with the network (AT&T), which it was doing regularly with the latest software version.
I am not happy that I lost a better web browser, HTML email, video recording and much better attachment handling/viewing, but I couldn't afford to lose connectivity. I'm hoping that I'm not the only one with this problem and that it will get fixed.

Faces will not identify any faces in my iPhoto

I have tried to use Faces and have had no luck. I have spent a great deal of time with Apple tech support and they are baffled as to why the program is not working. I have taken many pictures of myself with Photo Booth loaded them into iPhoto and tagged/or named one picture with my "name" and Faces cannot find the other pictures of me. I have tried to reload iPhoto from my application disk and this has not cured the problem. My wife has just up graded her 20" iMac to 10.5.6 and her iPhoto program (Faces) is doing just fine.

Name some more - the more you name the better iPhoto gets - having only one photo named is not enough to get started

Airport does not recognize any networks, no signal whatsoever, SOMEONE HELP

Hello, I use an iBook at the office, i have been using it for several months here and at home, worked fine until yesterday, logged on in the morning everything was working fine, until airport had no signal, it did not recognize any networks, at first i thought it was a problem here at the office, all the other computers are working.
I tried it at home and it doesn´t recognize anything at all.
The network status says that airport is turned on but it is not connected to any network.
It`s clearly a problem with my computer, not the network, can anyone help?

Rod1, Welcome to the discussion area!
Verify that the antenna wire is still properly connected to the AirPort card. It may have come loose.
If you have an iBook G4 you can use the photos in KB 108039, Properly attaching the antenna on an AirPort Extreme Card to verify that the antenna wire is still properly connected to the AirPort Extreme card.
