Not Identifying Printer to install Software, even though wired in!

Im pulling my Hair Out
I have got a HP Officejet Pro 8000 Enterprise and it is connected Via Ethernet Cable to my Modem.
I have a PC with Windows 7 64Bit and a Laptop with Widows 8.
The Printer is picked up by both as they are wirelessly connected to the modem
Control Panel > Network & Devices  and the printer is shown as a "Printer"  (Which is Good ) IP Address 192.168.0.2
The issue comes when trying to install the software to actually use the printer. The "HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver" software I downloaded as instructed by the HP Website just will not pick up the fact the printer is connected. This is the same when connected with USB, however USB won't work properly because Windows Update fails to download the Drivers needed too. 
In Control Panel > Printers & Devices the Printer is shown but with a "Troubleshoot Icon" when pressed Windows just says No Driver Found On Windows Update. 
I can access the printer settings via the IP Address which means its all connected correctly, Im just stuck as to how to actually get to the computer identifying it as a printer that I cant PRINT WITH !!
Any help much appreachiated as im going round in circles

  • Cannot install software even though I am the admin

    I am trying to install Epson Workforce 845 printer software I donwloaded from Epson's website (the disc doesn't work for Lion).  When I try to install it it says "You must have Admin user privileges to intall the software."  The problem is, I am the administrator.  There are no other users on this computer.  Under my Iser profle I am listed as an admin and the "Allow user to adminitser this computer" box is checked (though it is grayed...). 
    I have tried creating a new admin account and loging in with it, but I get the same error.  I have also completely reinstalled Lion, but got the same error.  When I make other changes to the system I am properly prompted for a password and everything works fine.
    Any ideas as to how to fix this? 

    I fixed it! Still curious as to why it happened though. I downloaded a nifty little app called "Batchmod" and reset all the permissions and removed ACL permissions? Then went to the terminal and typed
    killall Finder
    Boom! It worked! I hope this helps someone else in the future. Now if you know why it happened in the first place I would love to know.

    If you are having issues with printing from your iMac I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

    Specifically -
    Troubleshooting steps you can use if there is an issue
    Ensure the printer is connected, has power, has ink / toner, paper, and no alerts on its built-in display.
    Network based printers should be on the same subnet; you shouldn't have to worry about this if your printer is on your home network.
    Use Software Update for the latest available updates.
    Delete the affected printer from Printer & Fax System Preferences, then re-add the printer.
    If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
    Reset the printing system (see below). Then, add the printer again.
    If the issue persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers from here. Then, add the printer again.
    If the issue still persists, contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.

    The amount of RAM is not dependant on the operating system. It is all about the model of you Mac.
    10.6.8 is the version of OS X that is installed on your system. It has no real baring on the amount of RAM that CAN be installed.
    Personally I have never had good luck with Corsair RAM. I have always had good luck with Crucial and Kingston.

    What did you download and from where?  Most downloads go to your Home/User/Downloads folder unless you've specified a different location in your browser. 
    If you downloaded the drivers from the App Store the drivers will be installed automatically and all you need to do is go to the System/Printers & Scanners preference pane as described below.
    You will have to install the drivers after downloading the installer package.  Lastly go to the System/Printers & Scanners preference pane and add the printer there.  It will automatically locate the drivers and set it up.

    Make sure your Mac meets Lion's requirements.
    Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OSX v10.6.6 or later (V10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available spare

    If your Mac meets the requirements, installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo reinstalls the App Store for you which may help.
    Restart your Mac after instaling the combo installed. It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8.
    If you have anti virus software installed, you may need to disable that in order to install Lion.

    I have been having the same issue for the last two weeks. No real indication as to why it ever began other than I had turned off my router and Airport Extreme Base Station off for a weekend while I was away from my place.
    iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, all have no issues at all with my Airport Extreme Base Station. Can stay connected throughout my living room, bathroom, bedroom, no issues whatsoever.
    My 5 month old MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz Core i7 Airport is sometimes perfect, able to connect, DHCP, and browse without issue. Then, for no reason, I won't be able to join my wireless network, or when I can join, I can't pick up an IP address. And then it will connect, pick up and IP, and then it won't browse. No real rhyme or reason to when this will happen, or when it works.
    I thought that it was an issue with my MacBook Pro, but then my sister visited with her brand new MacBook Pro 2.26 Intel Core 2 Duo, and while a month ago she was able to connect, DHCP, and browse without issue, this weekend she had all of the same issues I was having.
    My XBOX 360 and MacBook Pro have absolutely no issues with the wired connection. Only my WAN seems to have this issue.
    Did you ever find anything more to this?

    When going to your software updates on your device it will provide you with the latest available update for your device.
    the iPhone 4 will update to iOS 7.0.4 provided all other updates the device is asking for has been completed.

    hello. i am having hard time with my iphone 4s. actually, i did set my passcode using the tamil keyboard. my passcode was 'ka' and 'lai'. there's no such alphabet in the keyboard. in order to get "lai" we've to tap "la" and "i". so, it will transform into "lai". i did this in my settings. and when i locked the phone and tapped the word "ka', "la" and "i', this time the two alphabets are not transforming into "lai". it keep remains as two different alphabets. so, i couldn't unlock my iphone 4s. then, i decided to factory reset it via itunes. but, there's a problem again. when i tapped the restore button it is asking me to update iphone software even though it is up to date. and yet when i clicked the download button, it will start the downloading process but after sometime there will be an error in downloading. so, until now i couldn't unlock my iphone. i hope there will a reply as soon as possible.

    Check for new 64 bit software for the modem, other wise you I'll probably have to boot your Mac in 32 bit mode first.. And then every time you want to go online.
    I have the Sierra wireless 306 and have their 64 bit lion software installed. Works well.

    If your iTunes is set on manual sync, then you have to manually drag and drop. Otherwise every time yousyncyou'll get all changes even if you don't want it.

    Although your other devices connect okay, it would be worth resetting your router by switching if off for disconnecting it from mains power for 2 minutes and then switch it on again.
