Not import Management Packs

Hi, i'm install new SCOM 2012 R2, activated.
[scom.polikomm.local]: PS C:\Users\vlaDOS\Documents> Get-SCOMManagementGroup  | FT SkuForLicense, Version, TimeOfExpirat
ion -a
SkuForLicense Version     TimeOfExpiration
       Retail 7.1.10226.0 31.12.9999 23:59:59
Then i'm trying to intall MP and it can not be loded:
Windows Server 2012 R2 Operating System (Discovery) did not pass the security verification.
The management pack cannot be downloaded and the temporary file has been deleted.
Could not load management pack [ID=Microsoft.Windows.Server.2012.R2.Discovery, Keytoken=31bf3856ad364e35, Version=6.0.7230.0].

Had a same problem. Fresh 2012 R2 Server & SCOM install. SCOM UR4 installed before importing any MP:s.
When I tried to import Core OS MP:s I got same error message:
"Windows Server 2012 R2 Operating System (Discovery) did not pass the security verification.
The management pack cannot be downloaded and the temporary file has been deleted". I downloaded Core OS MP and imported from disk successfully. After that imported IIS MP from catalog without any problems.

  • Incorrect strings when importing Management Pack

    I have created a Management Pack for Operations Manager 2012 R2 using the Visual Studio Authoring Extensions. When I import my MP into Operations Manager, I see incorrect strings and my Group Views display incorrectly. I've tried completely uninstalling
    my MP, restarting the SCOM instance and nothing makes this problem go away.
    If I use Powershell and get-scomgroups I see groups with incorrect names, names that do not exist in my MP. These groups go away when I uninstall the MP so there is some connection. I'm at the point where I feel like re-initializing the SCOM SQL databases
    is my best route. Is there any way to figure out where these orphaned text strings and groups are coming from and delete them?
    Thanks,
    Mike Markley

    Yes, VSAE won't let you reuse an ID. It is quite strange, if I run get-scomgroups from a PowerShell prompt I get a response that doesn't make any sense.
    PA C:\>get-scomgroup -DisplayName "Orcas Island"
    HealthState     InMaintenanceMode  DisplayName
    Uninitialized         False        Granite Falls
    PS C:\> get-scomgroup  -verbose -DisplayName "Granite Falls" | FT
    HealthState     InMaintenanceMode  DisplayName
    Uninitialized         False        Granit Falls

  • Importing Management Packs

    Hello,
    We have SCOM 2012 SP1 on our live environment and we are in the process of trying to mirror it in our test environment. I have installed SCOM in the test environment and I want to copy our management packs from live.
    When I try to import the xml files I am getting the following errors;
    This management pack cannot be imported.
    : XSD verification failed for the management pack. [Line: 6, Position: 8]
    The element 'Identity' has invalid child element 'PublicKeyToken'.
    Can anyone offer advice?
    Downloading the latest versions isn't an option as we need to mirror our live setup.
    Many thanks

  • The Management Pack Import Failed - Upgrading to R2 and SCVMM 2012

    Just finished applying UR4 to my Service Manager 2012 R2 environment. One of the final steps has you copy these MPs from your Virtual Machine Manager server to the Service Manager box.

  • Management pack version difference in System Center - Operations Manager 2012 R2 - Help us.

    Hi,
    I have SC Operation manager 2012 r2 in my environment. It has managed with multiple management servers.
    I have import some unsealed MPs through Ops SDK code and by manually using Operation manager console.
    Here with i tried to install higher version of MPs and upgrade its version from 1.1.0.0 to 6.0.0.0.
    case 1:
    After successful installation of some MPs and check Operation manager console, it showing newly upgraded version(6.0.0.0).
    Then i have import that MP and checked its version inside it showing 1.1.0.0(older version).
    Here the imported MP has 1.1.0.0 version and console showing its version as 6.0.0.0.
    Why it showing different versions in imported MP(inside xml)  and Operations manager console view?
    case 2:
    After that i tried to import other MPs using console. But it showing below error;
    Verification failed with 1 errors:
    Error 1:
    Found error in 2|Monitoring.ActiveDirectory_server|6.0.0.0|Monitoring.ActiveDirectory_server|| with message:
    Could not load management pack [ID=Monitoring.Base, KeyToken=9e875220a3987e0b, Version=6.0.0.0]. The management pack was not found in the store.
    : Version mismatch. The management pack ([Monitoring.Base, 9e875220a3987e0b, 1.1.0.0]) requested from the database was version 6.0.0.0 but the actual version available is 1.1.0.0.
    Its happened in  multiple management servers scenario. So Is any possibility to happen because of multiple management servers scenario?. There is no issues in this same MPs while i tried in single management server. These same MPs are imported and working
    fine in single management server scenario.
    Help me to solve these 2 issues!!
    Thanks,
    satheesh

    1) At first, you should make sure that the imported MP has correct version. I will open the XML of the imported MP and check its current version e.g.
    When you open the xml file of imported MP, the version number is shown as
    <Manifest>
        <Identity>
            <ID>Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualization.Component.Library.Resources</ID>
            <Version>1.0.0.2</Version>
        <Identity>
        <Name>Resources library</Name>
        <References>
            <Reference Alias="System">
            <ID>System.Library</ID>
            <Version>1.0.0.1</Version>
    From the above sample, the imported MP version number is 1.0.0.2.
    2) I am using operation console to import the management pack and check the version number in operations console whether it is updated to new version 1.0.0.2
    3) Using operations console to export the MP which has imported in step 1) and open it to check what is the version number of MP. Make sure that the version is 1.0.0.2
    4) If the above procedure provide a prefer match of version number, re-import all problematic MP.
    5) At last, you may use the following SQL to check whether the correct version number of MP is stored in DB successful
    select version, friendlyname from managementpackview where friendlyname like 'Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualizatio%'

  • Reporting Looking for Management Packs

    Hello,
    I am running SCOM 2012 R2 UR4.  I wanted to setup a scheduled report to show me a list of computers in a critical health state.  But when I go to the Reporting tab, it is asking me to import management packs.  Which MP's do I need for Reporting?

    I got this issue once. I had installed SCOM reporting components but the reports were not showing up.
    If you disable the Windows Firewall on reporting server, reports will populate in the SCOM operations console. Another way is by creating a new inbound rule on the Reporting server, allowing communication for TCP port # 80 and 443. see if that helps.

  • The selected management pack cannot be deleted.

    I'm having problems deleting a custom management pack in SCOM 2012. The error is the following:
    The selected management pack cannot be deleted. This might be because it is currently being deleted or it has already been deleted. If you think this message is in error, try again later.
    Any ideas?

    I face the same problem in SCOM 2012 SP1
    The selected management pack cannot be deleted. This might be because it is currently being deleted or it has already been deleted. If you think this message is in error, try again later.
    I only have the problem with one unsealed MP.
    I can delete other sealed MPs and import them again. So I hope my environment with DB is working well.
    I also have deleted all overrides for this pack (in the same MP/xml because it is unsealed), restarted the DB-Server and the SCOM Management Server and also started the SCOM console with switch "/clearcache". All without success
    Any idea how I can remove this MP from my SCOM environment.
    Remark:
    I tried the idea from AndreasZuckerhut
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/166c3560-c3ae-4510-8e25-1b6f1b57e3bc/unable-to-delete-mp-in-scom-2012?forum=operationsmanagermgmtpacks
    created an own MP with the same ID but a newer version and started the "Import Management Pack"  from the SCOM -Management GUI.
    This time I got the Import-error  called  "The transaction log for database 'OperationsManager' is full due to 'ACTIVE_TRANSACTION'.  I also see the same eventlog entry 9002 on the SQL-Server System.  Could this be also an hint to
    the upper problem of an failed deletion of an MP?  A guide how to solve this is on
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/380879/About-transaction-log-and-its-truncation-in-SQL-Se . But I not tried it yet whether it solves the problem. I will ask an SQL expert first and will note the result here later.

    Br,

    No management pack for MPSeal. Management packs are sealed by using the MPSeal tool that is located in the SupportTools folder of the Operations Manager 2007 R2 distribution media. This is a command-line tool that creates a sealed .mp file from an unsealed
    .xml file. After performing the sealing process, you can install the sealed management pack in your management group.
    For Seal Management pack, you can check below link

    Could not load management pack [ID=Microsoft.Windows.Server.2008.Monitoring, Keytoken=31bf3856ad364e35, Version=6.0.7296].
    This includes the required packs: "Windows Server Operating System Library v6.0.7296" and "Windows Server 2008 Operating System (Discovery) v6.0.7296".
    The only option I found was downloading it directly from the website http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=9296 but I'm a bit anxious if it can't be downloaded from the catalog. Is this pack revoked? Or could there be something wrong
    in our environment that prevents us from downloading it from the catalog?

    I have the exact same issue - and when I select to download from the catalog, I get an error that the security certificate cannot be verified. I checked it, and it is valid till 2016, so I selected continue and then it works normally. however I do get the
    same list of errors.
    The normal "manual" download is available, and if it was pulled by MS, they would block the download button there too ?
    I downloaded the MP manually and installed it without any issues. same for the sharepoint 2010 MP 14.0.7135.5000 mp. installing via the catalog failed while the manual download was available and works OK.
    (and the weird thing is - I downloaded / installed a few other updates via the catalog fine....)

  • SCOM management packs upgrade

    Hi,
    When we upgrade a management pack in SCOM e.g. the OS management packs, Does it retains the overrides applied on rules and monitors in the previous version or we had to apply the overrides again on the latest imported management pack? Please advice.
    Thanks
    Daya Ram

    Just keep in mind when you upgrade a management pack to read the management pack guide which is bundled with it.
    Your overrides will be kept in a different management pack so no worries there but the creator of the MP can change the standard overrides in it's pack which could have an impact on your monitoring.
    When upgrading an MP always check the MP guide and especially the "What's new" section to get a quick overview of the different changes in the MP.
    It's doing common things uncommonly well that brings succes. Check out my SCOM link blog:
