I m even less impressed with the fact that your going to make numbe of open apps to 3 with the low end version. " Microsoft servery found this number to what most people use. I spent 3 years as job asking serverys. Mostly they are a joke. What happens if the servery doesn't have the right questions. Eg. coke against pespi. Why did pespi win in taiste test? sweetness but that is meaningless becasue most people everyone likes sweet things the first little bit but who drink a bowl of sugar? That is one of the reasons coke is 1. I also have to say to mircosoft get real didn't you learn with have all the versions of vista ??? Now you re going to bring out 6 versions of win 7. You need to learn from the book the tipping point what makes a product or idea go one way or another. It's people like me whom love win 7 but are going to go no don't bother spending the cash. The cheap system is junk dueto being dumb down and the one you want isn't worth it. Myself I ll wait till win 7 rc runs out and just go back to xp. ( I could do vista but it was just shitty compared to xp ) Whom want to waist 300 bucks for win 7. It's time you learn from your past before Mr bill is just like sun computers , novel etc just part of the past. no I don't need help or a responce. Not impressed with Mail/iCal in Leopard

Just upgraded to Leopard, so far the few new changes are outweighed by the problems and shortcomings.
First, my signatures are messed up, in particular the logos used. Help file provides little if any help in setting up logos in sigs.
In iCal, when a note was attached to an event, I could view the note immediately in the sidebar.
Now in Leopard, one must double click the event to show notes...not impressed.
I think these are excellent applications, but have a long way to go before becoming really useful.

Relying on mail applications for logos in signatures is not a good idea. Support for inlined images by mail client is so disparate in standards by each client, some people may see the logo, others will not. Furthermore, attachments received are frequently blocked by those fearing viruses. Regardless of Mail's supported features, I would not get annoyed at the logo support changing as it is non-standard to begin with, and will always be as long as viruses masquerade into spam people receive.

Not Impressed with PS CS5

I have an iMac 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running 3GB of DDR2 SD-RAM and have nothing but problems with CS5 since installing it a few weeks ago. I am running it in 64-bit.
1) Merge To HDR Pro: This doesn't work at all. When I use HDR Pro through PS I get an error message when it is about to create the merged file. When I use HDR Pro through Bridge it puts the files into layers in PS but then does nothing else. I'm not impressed.
2) The Type Tool doesn't work. PS just hangs (the colorful beachball just spins and spins) when I click on the type tool. I'm not impressed.
3) CS5 seems to be slower at almost everything than CS4. I'm not impressed.
4) Third-Party Plug-Ins don't work with CS5 in 64-bit yet. Apparently changing to 32-bit will help, but when I do that and then try to open CS5 it just freezes. I'm not impressed.
Finally, I contacted Adobe support 10 days ago regarding points #1 and #2. I have been getting very little help on #1 since then (they keep telling me to do the same things over & over) and absolutely no help on point #2. Once again ... I am not impressed.

Having used CS5 intensively for more than a year on both PC (Vista and W7) and Mac, I'd say I never saw that kind of behavior, nor did I ever hear of anyone else having those problems. I hate to extrapolate that single personal experience to the broader context, but I'd sure look hard at your computing environment for some conflict. Are you running CS5 only on this one box?

Not impressed with the ATI Radeon x800xt!!

I have been using the ati radeon x800xt for about two months now. I do motion graphics and 3d and I am not impressed. Barely saw an increase in AE 6.5 or Maya and Motion is painfully slow.
I have a G-Raid 300gb that runs at 7200rpm through FW800.
With 3.5 gb of ram I would assume I would see a major increase.
Is it because I only have 2.0Ghz
I am using all the high performance settings in the preferences and still no luck.
I am dying here. please help!!!

It doesn't sound like the Radeon's fault, sounds like the G-Raid isn't keeping up with your demanding tasks. You might need a faster solution for piping the data through. Hmm, what's your G-Raid's transfer rate right now? Mine gives a solid 80Mb/sec read rate (500Gb G-Raid) FW800. I don't think it's because you only have a 2GHz machine, that's still a really solid performer...
You might need to stripe 4HD's in RAID 0 or just get a pair of Raptor 150's in an eSATA enclosure and then you'll see some serious motion.

Not impressed with my D10 purchase.

I have to say I've not been impressed with our D10. First it took us almost 2 months to get it, then a HD failed after about 5 weeks and I really don't think it's all that fast for the money we paid. The buzzing noise generated by the 15,000 RPM drives has me almost ready to throw it out the window. At first I thought it had something to do with the bad drive, but after replacing it, the buzzing is just as bad as it was before (perhaps worse). This is the first time we've bought a brand name computer and it will probably be the last. Next week we will be replacing 4 of our aging computers with no name machines from a local computer retailer.
That said, support has been great, Eric (the moderator on this board) helped me diagnose the bad drive and when I called Lenovo on a Friday, they had a new drive to me on Monday (very impressive).
I'm really not a negative person, I'm just not pleased.

something definitely isn't right with your system.   from 10-15' away, i can't even hear my D10 -- and my hearing is impeccable.
here are my specs just for comparison:
- dual 3.0 GHz xeon E5450
- 16 GB ram (4 x 4 GB)
- three 15K SAS drives (2 x 300GB seagate RAID 1 + 1 x 73.4GB seagate for scratch disk)
- two 7.2K SAS drives (2 x 1TB seagate RAID 1)
- nvidia quadro FX 4800
next time you hear the buzzing, open the access panel and see if you can determine the source.   push on various locations inside to see if something is loose. heck, it could be another hard drive for all i know. either way, your system should be quiet and i want to see you find a resolution.
btw, what video card are you using? have you checked it to see if it could be causing a buzz in the chassis?
regarding speed, i can totally relate to the unrealistic expectations. the "seat of the pants" dyno doesn't always match what a system can do in actual applications. also keep in mind that the QX9650 is essentially a xeon X5450 running in a system made for DDR3-1333 memory.   depending on what you're doing, these two systems will seem equally as fast during normal tasks. shorter processing times, error checking, stability, and expandability are where the rubber meets the road in the D10.
fwiw, i'm using solidworks 2008 and adobe creative suite 4 (among other apps) under windows server 2008 enterprise x64.   you're definitely pushing your D10 harder than i am.
anyway, definitely keep me posted on your findings. i want to see you find a resolution one way or another.

Not impressed with apple or applecare

Hi Guys,
Well this isn't going well.
MacPro arrived last monday, started making bad noises on tuesday.
Rang Apple on Thursday went through problems, instead of sending me a new machine they decide it needs fixing, this is passed onto AMSYS in the UK who say it will be picked up on monday.
So today wait in all day for it to be picked up and it hasn't, rand up AMSYS who say there is nothing they can do about it until tommorow and they MAY be able to get it picked up on Tuesday!
If this was a dell it would have been fixed onsite on the Friday.
I am not impressed

The saga continues.
I rang Amsys who say that the part has no lead time from apple and is not available to them, thanks for telling me this before amsys.
I rang applecare on their premium 0870 number which took over 30 minutes, I asked for a replacement or a refund and was told that as I had had the machine over 14 days that this was not possible.
I told them that actually I had only had the machine 3 days before I rang applecare and they arranged for it to be repaired, this apparently doesn't matter, I should have asked for a new machine or refund then!
They have put in a priority request for the fan, should be delivered to Amsys in 24 - 24 hours, if it hasn't it looks like I will have to get a solicitor involved to try to get my money back.
After paying over 200 pounds for applecare I am not impresed at all.
I will not be buying an apple computer again.

Not impressed with Snow Leopard

i upgraded to Snow Leopard, thinking it would make my computer run more efficiently, and expecting some of the problems with programs that were present in Leopard to be resolved (this was promised in the description of the upgrade on the apple website). Unfortunately, I almost want to revert back to Leopard, as Snow Leopard appears to have done more harm than good for my system.
The computer actually seems to be running more slowly, and programs take up more power than before, so the battery dies faster and takes longer to charge fully. Also, before Snow Leopard, iChat had been crashing occasionally when video chatting in full screen mode, but now it barely works at all! I have to try several times to start a video conference, and even then it crashes more often than it ever did before.
My browser runs less efficiently as well, and Safari frequently quits altogether, which is very frustrating. I am not sure what was improved in this upgrade, but I think there might still be a great deal of work to be done here, and that perhaps Snow Leopard was released too soon.
I have one of the newer models of Macbook; I bought it last December, so it is not even a year old. This shouldn't have anything to do with the issues I am having with Snow Leopard.
Is anybody else having these problems, or does anybody know if there is anything I can do? Is there a way to go back to Leopard??

Not impressed with Apple

This year i bought a Macbook, my first apple computer ever. After 3 repairs and 5 months wait i gave up on getting it repaired. So i called apple. After about 20 phone calls and 5 hours on the phone and a month i got a replacement labtop. A brand new Macbook !!!! FREE of charge !!! But after One day of using the new Macbook! only one day! same problem as my old one. It does not recognize the battery, there is an "X" on the battery meter. What should I do? I am sick of this. I bought this laptop 6 month ago and have got to use it for maybe 1 month total! please help

Go to the actual store you bought it and get the manager, and talk with him. You have more of a chance of anything getting done while you are person to person, because truthfully the AppleCare people aren't allowed give replacemnet laptops, unless you send them the old one and they can't fix it, and even if that is the case there is a lengthy process. I was onto a product specalists once and he knew mine was broken, and he couldn't even authorize a replacement laptop. So go to the store.

Not impressed with Q5

Have now had this phone for 4 days and decided to return to my provider. Phone gets hot when used for more than a few minutes. Battery life is very poor. Worst of all though for me is the fact that the new operating system does not give you the option to delete email on handheld and computer a basic function I have enjoyed with various Blackberrys over the last 12 years. I am now reverting back to my faithful 8520.

Not impressed with OSX running on Intel

I've had my MBP for less than a week and for the 4th time Finder has become unresponsive. This last time I tried to retreive a file from iDisk only to have TextEdit and TextWrangler both become unresponsive - even the "force quit" wouldn't revive them. Finder couldn't even relaunch.
I'll provide additional information next time Finder stops to function but just wondering if anyone has experienced Finder issues and what they did or didn't do.

That's the fallacy some people are falling into. Intel runs Mac OS X 10.4 just fine. If you are having trouble with it, you should start a new topic thread here:

if you don't have solutions for the initial poster. Nobody here knows what new compatibility issues Leopard will bring up that will be resolved with time. Nobody here knows when it will be released, and if history is any indication, Macs which come out after Leopard's release won't be able to boot prior operating systems of Mac OS.

Not impressed with PCS Uninstall or PCS Cleaner

I am trying to migrate from Nokia 3586i (CDMA) and PCSuite Ver5 to 6275i (CDMA) and PCSuite Ver6.
In trying to resolve Bluetooth "Authentication" issues (phone and PC do pair-up), between a 6275i (CDMA) and Versions 6.83 and 6.85 I have at various times:
Uninstalled the old Ver5;
Installed, and then Uninstalled 6.83 and 6.85;
Run PCSuite Cleaner 3.6.
After all Uninstall and Cleaner runs I STILL have 250+ entries in Registry for Nokia and various Nokia folders in Application Data and Common Files.
And after uninstalling old drivers for DKU-5 cable, 20+ entries for same left behind.
How can the new suite be reliable with all the old **bleep** left behind.

IOS 7.0.3: Not impressed with new Reduce Motion update

I agree with others that the parallax feature was nauseating at times however the zoom in/out animations of opening/closing apps didn't bother me much. Maybe I was one of the few in this category however up until iOS 7.0.3, I truly enjoyed turning on the "Reduce Motion" under settings because it allowed me to turn off the parallax and still retain the the zoom in/out animations of iOS 7. Now with 7.0.3, it turns off the parallax as well as all the OS animations. I wish they had allowed two options under the Reduce Motion setting where one setting allowed you to turn on/off the parallax and another setting that allowed you to turn on/off the OS animations. I am curious as to what others think about this new update to the Reduce Motion setting in iOS 7.0.3. Thoughts?

I received a pre owned iPad. I have verified my account. When I try to install app it says I have not verified my account. I even did the 2nd step and it still says account not verified. This is my 1st experience with Apple and so far I am not impressed.

If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.

To keep your apps and other data separate, create a second user account in Windows and backup your data from the phone to this new Windows account:
