Not including wall charger?

I just got into the "iPod craze" last month and ordered a 20gig photo (which is now returned, ipod video will be here tues.). Now I see posts saying that the new iPod doesnt come with a wall charger. I can see WHY apple would do this, to keep the cost lower for the consumer that doesnt need the wall charger. I dont see HOW they can do it. The day after apple started shipping the iPod's they came out with a update for them. How are we supposed to update our iPod's if we dont have a wall charger? Unless this iPod is diffrent, it says "Please connect the iPod to an external power source." IMO, that is ridiculous. I just wanted to see what others had to say on this because it really grinds my gears.

I'm pretty sure they won't leave it without a signature. However, what I did to get around this was to leave a signed note for FedEx asking them to leave it. They left it with a notation that they had permission. Course, goes without saying you want to be sure its safe to leave it out till you get home.

  • Payment Card - To Be Authorised Amount  does not include Shippig Charges

    Hi Guys,
In the Payment cards tab SAP as a standard calculates Total "TO BE Authorised" amount as NET pr + Taxes (Screen field: FPLAA-ENDWR).
It does not include shipping charges. I would like to include the same. I guess there is no customization available for this. Is there a way out...
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Jay Enn

    Hi Jay,
You can assign pricing procedure in delivery to calculate Shipping costs and then
so that you will be able to capture entire cost and bill customer accordingly
Why not you set the period in Customizing for Sales and Distribution by choosing Billing -> Payment cards -> Authorization and settlement -> Specify authorization validity periods.

  • IPad 2 Wall Charger not working at my home only

This is a strange one.  I'm hoping someone has seen this and has a solution.  My iPad 2 will suddenly not charge when using the included wall charger but only at my home.  I took everything into Apple and the tech found everything in working order at the store (adapter and USB cable as well as the iPad itself).  He suggested I try different wall outlets at home (which I had).
On my way home I tried what I thought was a long shot and plugged the wall adapter into a adapter I have that allows you to plug a 110 volt device into your cigarette lighter.  This worked and I was able to charge the iPad 2 on the way home.
I have tried a dozen outlets at home now and none of them work.  I read some posts about cold booting the iPad and tried that with no effect.  I also read posts about changing the order of plugging in the cables.  This hasn't changed my situitation.
This iPad 2 is only six weeks old.  I was ready to try purchasing a new wall adapter until it charged fine at the Apple store and in my car.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I don't want to have to drain my car battery or waste gas just to charge my iPad.

Update:  Apple support hadn't heard of anyone having this problem so I tried something else on my own.  I let the iPad2's battery run completely empty and then plugged tried charging it normally (using my home electrical outlet).  It worked!  My iPad2 is back to charging and working normally.  I'm still concerned that there is something wrong with the unit but I'll have to keep monitoring it.

  • Wall Charger of new iPad is not working

I just got a new Ipad 64GB and I observed that the wall charger adapter is not working.
I checked the cable and it is fine as it charges the iPad when connected to the computer USB and it syncs.
I also tried the wall power adapter of my iPhone and it works perfectly fine. It charges the iPad as expected.
Thus it is the iPad power adapter.
    Anyone with this issue?

I have the same problem and found a solution. I have two 16 GB ipads and several ipods around so was able to isolate that when using the sync cable provided with the ipad (the slim ones) the ipad and ipods did not charge correctly (very slowly if not at all). When using one older sync cable (fat connector) on the wall charger, the problem is gone. Unfortunately, I have juste one of those, but at least I am sure that it will work.
I also encounter sync issue with those small connectors : connections goes on and off without a predicable pattern.
So from my experience: the problem is not related to the ipad, the problem is not with the wall charger and using an older ipod sync connector solve the issue. The issue is with both usb connectors included with the ipads, so getting a new similar one is unlikely to solve the issue.

  • AC Wall Charger not working

Hi, This seemed to be the most appropriate place to post this...
My AC wall charger has just stopped working all of a sudden. The ipod doesn't respond at all when connected to it (it was working fine for the last 7 months). Firstly, it is a firewire one, and i've checked the firewire cable by connecting it to the PC and it works fine. I've tried other wall sockets and it still doesn't work. I've also tried another ipod and still nothing.
I got it included with the ipod mini from the refurbished ipods page last december.
    *Any suggestions on fixing it?*
Also, do they have warrantys? I've noticed that it has a serial number on it but its not recognised on the page you use to report problems with the actual ipod.
    Any help is appreciated,
    Jads

I doubt it has a warranty anymore. As to being repairable, it might be, but that is one of those things where if you are asking if it is repairable, you probably don't know enough about electronics to do the repair if you can repair it. I.e. do you have a multimeter to get in there and measure voltages to find the dead component?

Did you get a charger with the iPad 3?
Could be the charger or cable. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. I've run diagnostics. Can't find device. I've tried resetting. The toggle has been turned on and off.

Cable works fine on my other iPod. Reset by pressing menu and center button together for 6-10 seconds. Left it to charge for many hours. Started acting up while running. Suddenly the music stopped playing but my Nike + was still working for the rest of my run. Took it straight it home and plugged it in to the wall to recharge since the battery was fairly low. Looked like it recharged ok but then screen went blank and now does it not show up on iTunes, does not seem to recharge by the wall charger (apple wall charger plugged into a surge protector in India). I have turned the hold switch off and on many times.
Sounds like a repair issue, which is not easy to do in India :(

I tried rebooting it, by pressing the home and sleep button for 15 second. I tried to change the wall outlet, AC Charger Adapter with USB for the Apple ipad mini and nothing would not work. My wife's iPod Nano syncs on the computer. I went in and reset my iPod Touch back to factory settings and now it will not let me get in unless I sync to iTunes on my computer. My sons iPod touch will only charge with computer. This has happened since update. Wall charger charges other iPods/iPhone. Restored to original defaults. And still does not work.

I believe it started with the update prior to 5.1.1.  I just udated it to the 5.1.1, thinking it would resolve the problem.

  • Ipod touch 4g will not wall charge after update

just bought an ipod touch 4g and when i updated it the ipod would no longer charge from any usb wall plug. the only way it will charge is from the computer wich is a huge issue for me becouse i travel alot and i have and apple wall charger so i dont get the point of the update to restrict the actual mobility of the device. please fix the issue with the ios update so use with wall chargers returns becouse it defeats the whole idea of a moble device if you have to carry around a computer to charge it.

You are not addressing Apple in this forum. We are just users like yourself.
Tell use the specifics about the wall charger that will not work.

  • IPhone 4 will not charge via wall charger

    Hello,
All of a sudden about 2 week ago my wall charger stopped charging my phone. I tried a hard reboot and it didn't work. Bought a replacement cord and wall jack and still doesn't work. Tested wall charger and cord on friends' phones and works correctly. Does anyone have a legitimate fix for this? Seems to be a provlem with the phone itself, rather than the cord or wall charger, as the cord an wall adapter work with other iPhone 4's, my phone will charge via the comp or via the car jack I have too.
Thanks in advance for any help.
