Not now able to receive emails on iPad.

Hi,
I have a new iPad, and have been receving and sending emails via my two btinternet accounts OK until the last day or so.  I can now only send emails but not receive on both accounts.
I get an error message that says " A copy has been placed in your outbox.  The sender  address  [email protected] was rejected by the server.
The email accounts are in the format [email protected] .  SMTP Outgoing port (mail.btinternet.com) is set to 25 (have tried the old trick of changing it to 587, but to no avail) and the POP3 incoming is set to 110.  My PC works OK with those settings as does my cellphone.
What can have changed please? Help!
Thanks, Mark (UK)

There have been a number of threads regarding issues with Yahoo mail. Some people have reported success with deleting the account and adding it back. It is not really necessary to reset or restore the device. It is a Yahoo issue, and it is difficult to fix, since it is unknown what is actually causing the problem, except that it is Yahoo. You can contact their support if you like, but they will probably tell you to restore the device as well. Many have reported just waiting it out.

If it was setup using your iPhone and your Apple ID then as far as the iCloud team will be able to find out, you set it up.  Passwords cannot be retrieved.

  • Possible solution for not being able to receive emails

I had a problem that's plagued me since Leopard was released a week ago. I couldn't receive all my emails on any POP boxes, and kept getting duplicates showing up of those emails it had managed to download.
I had 45 emails waiting to download, and it kept stopping on message 33. There was nothing different about that message, and I removed it via webmail instead. Still, Mail would not download the messages that remained.
The whilry progress circle would appear by four of the POP boxes but would never disappear, and I had to Force Quit Mail.
I had installed Leopard as an Archive & Install and preserved my users & network settings. I found that Mail had trashed my email servers list!
SOLUTION: Preferences > Accounts. Click on each account and edit the server list (the server dropdown has "Edit Server List..." in it.). Make the changes necessary for ONLY that account's servers, Don't change any others in the server list. Close the sheet, and choose a different account. You'll be asked to save the changes, do so. Now, edit the server for another account and continue until they're all done.
It looks like Mail isn't storing changes to every server that you change in the list, so when you do one of them, if you change another it loses changes you've made.
I still can't send emails though, but that's a separate problem...

Yes, they showed up in my Sent folder. What I did was send the same email to the other two addresses. I wrote a test email in account A, and addressed and sent it to account B & C. Then did the same from B to A & C, and from C to A & B. When all was said and done, I had 4 emails in my Mac.com inbox, and 1 email in each of my POP accounts. Since my last post, I tried taking my mac.com account offline, and tried sending an email from each POP account to the other, and they both got them.
No, I can't get to either of my POP accounts online.
The passwords are all correct, and unchanged. If there's an issue with them and OS X, it's a new one.
What's really bugging me is the amount of emails I'm NOT getting. I am not aware of any specifically, at least since the bouncing stopped. But, for example, I normally would have received about 90-100 emails in the past 9 hours, with around 40 of them going to my Junk box. While my Junk box has received close to 40 emails tonight, like normal, my inbox has only received 7, and 3 of those were notices telling me you replied to this post, and another was a confirmation email when I ordered dinner from Dominos. That's been the pace since about mid-day yesterday. Prior to that, I received zero emails in all accounts for the roughly 16 hours following my Leopard install. In fact, when I went to Mac.com to see if my missing mail was there, the last one there was time-stamped about 10 minutes before I did the install. In other words, whatever it was that caused this also kept my email from the mac.com website.
    Confused yet?

  • I live in Australia, use Optus as my ISP there, am now in Europe and have not been able to send emails ico

I live in Australia and use Optusnet.com.au as my ISP.  I am now in Europe and in the UK (wireless connection to BT Openzone) and in France (wireless connection to Orange) have been able to receive emails but not send any (except to optusnet.com.au addresses).  This is true for my iPad 3 and iPhone 4.  I can send email using Safari and webmail but as I receive emails in various languages cannot read most of them in webmail.  This is really frustrating.  Can anyone help?  Thanks.  Miles

it would had been possible if u were accessing data through optus sim card with global roaming active which will then incur massive data charges
    so better to use safari

With one mailbox server in the production site and one in the DR site, you do not have high availability.  If the main site goes down, the cluster loses quorum and all databases dismount.  You must then force quorum or move the file share
    witness to restore quorum.
I can't tell you why what you observed happened.  At the time of the problem I would have been looking at the transport queues to see what's queued and to where.
I recommend you look at the configuration of your send connectors to ensure that none of them are dependent upon the DR site server.
To send mail outside, you must allow relay.  To do this, I recommend you create a new receive connector that's configured to allow relay and restrict access to the application server to keep anyone else from using it to relay.  There are plenty
of articles on the Internet that describe how to configure a relay connector.

  • I have not been able to send email for some time but now i have stopped being able to recieve email.

i have not been able to send emails for some time but in the last two days ive stopped being able to receive, the message says 'username or password incorrect' ive checked all the settings, ive deleated accout and set up again, ive rebooted phone. i tried to sync with pc but this also fails any ideas

That is correct, They don't seem to know about Mac, never got a single scrap of help from  them.  Try recreating your account from scratch, delete the account, (write down all your settings first) and add an account, see if that works, and if it does, delete the first account to prevent things doubling up on you.  I think that's what I did, it was quite a while ago.  Hope this helps, or gets you pointed in the right direction.  Maybe go to At&t and try creating another account, and if ti works, delete the first.
One other tihing I did was to reset Safari, as AT&T uses the net, that's about all I can remember, like I said it was awhile ago.

  • I am unable to send out emails but am able to receive emails. Plz advise. Thankyou

Why am I unable to send out emails successfully but am able to receive emails. The company I am with is Hawaiian Legacy Hardwoods.
    This window keeps popping up:
Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop.secureserver.net responded: hawaiianlegacyhardwoods.com not found in the auth database
When I close the above window another window appears:
    Login to server pop.secureserver.net failed.
    These options then appear:
    Login Failed
    Retry Enter new Password Cancel
Not sure why this is occurring but is there any direction you can assist with?
    Thank you

Is this problem in Thunderbird (stand-alone email software)? Just checking because your post got tagged "Firefox" somewhere during the submission process.
secureserver.net is a GoDaddy server. Are you sure your mail account is hosted with GoDaddy?
Also, server names starting with pop. usually are for incoming mail. You may want to double-check your provider instructions to see whether you need to use a server name starting with smtp (or something else other than pop).
In Thunderbird, there may be a separate Outgoing Mail entry at the bottom left of the Accounting Settings dialog. To access that dialog, you can use either:
    * 3-bar button > Options menu > Account Settings
    * tap the Alt key > Tools menu > Account Settings
