Not only NO SONG ON PAGE, but NO CARET showing!

PROBLEM:
At the site above, the .mov song that I placed there about a month ago now does not play. Not only does it not play, but the caret (sideways "V") isn't even there. Usually after any kind of edit, the caret shows up on the page until I either edit out the page for the new .mov file, or do it the fast way with MassReplaceIt.
RUN-UP TO THE PROBLEM:
Because I edited out three of Chris' pages on my website, I had to edit out the three .js files for those pages, so I went to MassReplaceIt to do so. When I clicked the Replace button, however, the window readout of the files listed them all as "File Not Found."
So I quit MassReplaceIt, went to my iDisk, edited the three .js files for Chris, and all was fine; the songs for those three pages played.
However, I remembered that when I was previously in MassReplaceIt, one of the files was not correctly written. The file for Eric (manager of the rock band) was spelled Eric .js, with the space after Eric. (Why does this happen? I did not do that.)
So I went to my iDisk, found the Eric files, including a lot of the old, incorrect Eric files with the tilde (~) preceding the file to show that it was invalid. I edited the incorrect file to read Eric.js (eliminated the space after Eric.)
I then went to MassReplaceIt, deleted the incorrect Eric fle, hit the + button to put in the new, corrected Eric file, and thought that it would be OK.
Then I went back to check the page in Safari for the song, and as I said, not only is there no song from his band, but neither is there the CARET!
I cleared the cache, cleared the history, went to another site, returned to my website -- several times. Still no song on Eric's page.
** I realize that the MassReplaceIt issue and the No Song on Eric's Page are separate issues. I included the MassReplaceIt issue only to be complete in giving the history of this puzzle.
Meanwhile, the band is playing in a huge contest this Saturday and I'm dropping the ball for Eric by not having the band's music on my page. (OK, I admit it is a very small, lightweight ball, more like a pingpong rather than a basketball, but it's me dropping a ball.)
HOW CAN I GET THE SONG ONTO THE PAGE? DO I HAVE TO MAKE A NEW .MOV FILE AND PUT IT ONTO THE PAGE? OR SOMETHING EASIER?

I think your problem does revolve around the
mysterious "Space" character in your page names.

See on the end how there is a "%20" in
"Eric%20.html". This indicates that you have placed
a space after "Eric" when you typed the page name.

James, everything is OK now, but I have a question:
The two files directly above also have that %20% in them. So why is it wrong in the first file you mentioned, but not in these two directly above?
The problem, though is that there is a naming
inconsistency (with the "%20" space character). You
have fixed the filename of the "Eric.js" file, but
not all the other referring URLs perhaps.
The easiest thing to do at this point is to publish
the page again. This is going to be easy, because
you are going to have to take the space (after
"Eric") out anyway.

Question is: Why did this suddenly begin? Eric's page was fine before. Then suddenly, not.
One thing I have learned thanks to your post is that I should check the Page tab for how I entered a name. Also to be very sure NOT to hit the Space bar at the end of a word if I am typing out the name of a file!

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:

Show breadcrumb bar only on main list pages but not site pages

Is there any way to show the breadcrumb bar only on list pages (for example to navigate in document libraries, surveys, etc.) but no in site pages or wikipages. The only solution I found was adding a webpart to each page I want to
hide the breadcrumb bar but this is no long-term solution. How can I make sure that the breadcrumb bar only shows on ootb list pages but not on my site and wiki pages?

One way of hiding breadcrumb is through css. You can apply the css in custom master page that will hide the breadcrumb and in your default master page leave it as it is.
Using IE developer tool, check the class that is applied on the breadcrumb and apply as style of display none to that class. This way you can hide the breadcrumb. I don't have my dev box up so cannot tell the exact class right now but using IE developer
tool you will be able to find the same.

It might be a pref.js issue. These should give you all the information you need!
If that doesn't work:
# Type about:config in the address bar
# Click ''I'll be careful, I promise'' if prompted
# In the Filter input field type ''startup''
# Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
# Delete the text string and click ''OK''
# Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.

Does not open http or https pages but youtube opens?

My any browser is not able to open http or https pages but opens youtube or any other vedio site.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

All songs play on the laptop windows 8. The second Ipod touch we have - all songs synch to it and play.
But the first Ipod touch we bought - only half (or so) of the songs synch. So I assume there is an issue with the newer Ipod touch. The songs not synching are songs I added to the library from CD's.

IMO a 4 year old laptop is too dated to run the new OS X bloated versions, it should have stuck with 10.6.8 max, but it's likely too late to go back now as you have too many files and programs in the later OS X versions.
However if you don't care and have basic type files that are neutral state file formats, like they will work on any Mac/PC or Linux machine (like pictures, music files etc) then you might be interested in going back to Snow Leopard for performance.

Gotta wierd situation.
My iPod works fine in iTunes.
I have had 'Enable for Disk Use' enabled for a long time. However, my iPod doesn't show up under My Computer on WinXP.
I'd like to add some new Notes and remove some old ones, but you have to do that thru Windows, not thru iTunes.
Any ideas how to fix this problem?

i noticed one thing. the iPod is formated as FAT32, but i have my HD in NTFS. could this be related?
no, that one's normal. we need to leave her as FAT32. see:

hmmmmm. it's like the "enable disk use" setting is just refusing to stick for you.
but maybe we've got a window of oppportunity while it's doing that initial sync. the rules seem to be different for you then.
maybe try switching enable disk use off. then eject her, and plug her back in again (while you've got itunes already running).
the second she shows up in the itunes sourcelist, try diving into the preferences tab, and re-enabling disk use.
(i checked, and it's possible for me to do this with attractive beast ... hoping here that doing the "enable disk use" under these circumstances might get it to stick for you.)

If you have no luck with planb77's suggestion, perhaps you should check and confirm which iPod you have and that anything else you're doing, or thinking, is correct.

Look here for help in identifying your iPod; http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353 because the newest iPod Touch would require the latest version of iTunes. Are you using the latest version which, at the time of writing, is 10.6.3.25. A new iPod using an old version of iTunes would give you the symptoms you experience.

Even when I am using Safari or Firefox the spinning wheel of lines especially for face book just keeps spinning and it takes forever to load my pages. It was faster than this before I upgraded my internet service. I Check the speeds and those are fine (using a internet speed test). I have emptied all of my caches, cleaned my Mac with (Clean My Mac), I've taken out all old files, pictures, cleared my widgits, and I don't know what else to do. Is there some configuration I need to address some where inmy preferences? Do Ihave to just live with it? I do want to upgrade to Snow Leopard but, I can't afford that at this moment. Any ideas please forward. Another issue I have is that my IMac will not accept a DVD+Rdl but will accept any and all other DVD' and CD's what could cause that?

A 2003 iMac cannot support Snow Leopard 10.6; you'd need an Intel processor and that cannot be retrofitted to your Mac. What does "About this Mac" in your Apple menu say for your processor speed? What does it say about how much RAM you have?
If the processor is 1ghz or faster, you can run OS 10.5; otherwise, you are maxed out at 10.4.11.
Also, are you running any commercial ("pay for") anti-virus or security software? They are notorious for slowing most Macs to a fraction of their speed potential.
A too-full hard drive can drag down performance, especially if you don't have a lot of physical RAM installed. If you single-click your hard drive icon and then do command i, you'll see the disk usage. Looks like this:
The value for "Used" should be no more than about 90 percent of "Capacity." In the example image, that drive has about 34 percent of its space used and 66 percent free--more than enough. Please post what you see for your Capacity and Used numbers

When i open my browser it does not go to the home page but the last page that I was on in my previous internet session. whats going on here?

Ok so I open my Firefox browser but when it opens it does not go to the homepage. It goes to the last page I visited in my previous internet session. My homepage is www.imdb.com but lets says I go to www.facebook.com and then i close the window; if I reopen firefox it will go to the facebook page and not the homepage. This happens all the time and it even happens after I restart the computer. It always goes to the last page I visited. Like this page for example where I posted a question. Once i close firefox, and then open it again, it will come to this page and not the homepage. Is this supposed to happen? It started happened a few weeks back. I reinstalled it and it still happens. thanks.

This is a pretty easy fix. Just go to ''Tools > Options > General'' and change the preference for what Firefox should do on startup. You probably have it set to load tabs and pages from your previous session.
If that doesn't work, you should look at the Knowledge Base article [[Preferences are not saved]].
