Not opening in iTunes

When I connect my iPod to my mac, it is reconized by profiler, so the usb ports definetly works, but will not open in iTunes, when I had a pc it would just automaticlly open, it dosen't here.

can you clarify, please:
do you mean you want iTunes to launch when you connect your iPod, but it doesn't, or do you mean the iPod does not appear under devices in iTunes ?

I bought an mp3 download of a cd online (not in iTunes) and it will not open in itunes.

I tried everything. Importing the songs through file, add to library, which usually works. I tried double clicking it and clicking "open with itunes". I even tried dragging each song individually and dropping into itunes but nothing will work! Please help!
Also, the files are completely fine. They open in Quicktime and play just fine. They just will not open in itunes.

Have you tried going to menu > file > option+create new version > create AAC and select tracks from your disc. You track should be converted as they are added to library.
You will need to change import preference to AAC if you have have them set as mp3.

Unless you've recently attempted to downgrade iTunes this is probably a sign of a corrupt library file. See Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.

My music files will not open in itunes and is not recognised in the library. I have the files in the 'My Music' file however when looking at the music file it say the file is locked? is there anyway I can get my itunes to recognise the music files?

I finally removed those audio and video files from iPhone, although it will be tough to add them back to iPhone, but at least I saved the phone spaces.
I used software something like iTools, delete everything under File System / User / iTunes Control, then restart phone, that simple, usage count, spaces used are all correct now.

They won't, iOS apps will only work on iOS devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch), they are on your computer's iTunes library for syncing to your devices and for backing up/restoring purposes e.g. if you need to restore your device then they need to be on your computer's iTunes so that it can restore them and therefore their content.

Here are a few things you can try:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If you have tried those two things, refer to page 146 in the iPhone User Guide to Reset All Settings:

What are your OS X and iTunes version ?
Try to delete iTunes Preferences :
Go to your-user-name/Library/Preferences
Delete all files with iTunes in their name
Launch iTunes
If that doesn't work, the best way is to reinstall iTunes :

Your files (music, apps, videos...,) won't be deleted.

Let's try this first. Hold down the Shift key while you try to launch iTunes. You should eventually see the following dialog:
Click "Choose library". Browse to inside the following location (depending on what operating system you're running):
Operating System
Default location of iTunes library
Microsoft Windows XP
\Documents and Settings\[your username]\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
Microsoft Windows Vista
\Users\[your username]\Music\iTunes\
Microsoft Windows 7

... and open the iTunes library you find in there.

I am also having the same issue with everyone else in that iTunes will not open. This happened to me about two weeks ago and I uninstalled and reinstalled the version that came with my iPod. I figured that after a couple of weeks Apple would have figured out the glitch and fixed it. Wrong. B was asking another user if iTunes.exe was appearing and then disappearing in the Task Manager. I am having the oposite issue in that I cannot End Task in the Task Manager on iTunes.exe. What is up? Can anyone help me? Thanks for the support!

Movies stored on peripheral drive will not open in iTunes 10.4

I have movies on a 2TB external - both iTunes downloads and non-iTunes films. When double-clicked, they now open in Quicktime but are not imported into iTunes? Anyone else have this problem? Changing iTunes to 32 bit is of no help. Running Lion.

No luck on that altho there was a WEP network listed, I assume one of my neighbors.

Itunes store will not open when itunes is started

New Iphone 4. Wouldn't run on old Itunes version. Downloaded itunes 10.5 and locks up when opening the Itunes Store. Music accessible from old files, but no Store therefore cannot download IOS5 for the phone.
Have tried uninstalling multiple times and end up in the same spot. Have this same issue on two separate laptops, both running Windows XP SP3.

It sounds like the iTunes Store is not launching on your phone when you tap it to try and open it and restarting the phone has not helped. I have a few recommendations for this issue. I would start by closing all the open apps on the phone.
iOS: Force an app to close

Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that, sign out of your iTunes account in Settings > iTunes and App stores, and restart the phone:
