"Not readable"... but I JUST used it?!?!

I've got a 64 GB microSD card that I've been using w/a GoPro I got a cpl weeks ago. (The card says XC I on it.) Am using a 2 month old iMac w/10.9.4. Just this morning I downloaded a couple hours of video and dozens of pics from this very card, and it all worked fine. I went out and shot a few short clips this afternoon, wanting to experiment with the narrow/medium/wide views on the camera - didn't change anything else - now I put the same card in the computer in the same way I did a few hours ago, but now I get "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer." What the...?! I just used it & it worked fine!! Tried rebooting, tried to erase the card on the iMac (which failed,) ... what's the deal??? The clips I shot show up when the card is in the camera, so I trust that they're there -- the computer recognizes the card, (sees that's a 64GB disk,) but won't read it. I need to use the camera this weekend - so confused!

What operating system? The duplexer typically must be enabled (just once...) in the driver to make it available. Enable the duplexer as shown in the Vista/Win 7 Duplex Printing Troubleshooting Guide here.

All computers are personal computers, a PC though is also "non-Apple" in common usage.
Mac also is platform and OS.

CD not readable but DVD works

My early 2010 MBP has started shwoing the following error when I insert a CD:
"The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer."
DVDs play with no problem at all and also, if I chose the ignore the ignore option to the CD error above, I can use the old Songbird app to rip music from CDs in to FLAC format - again with no problem. I ran a CD cleaner through the drive but no difference.
I have also tried starting the macbook with 'D' pressed to get the hardware diagnostics but this just gives me a white screen for a while before booting up normally.
Running Mavericks, Verified, disk and repaired permissions.

I've already used a cleaning CD to no effect.
It still reads CDs using songbird, however I can no longer import them into itunes. I've tried redownloading itunes as well.
I have since dug out the CDROMs/DVDs that came with it(which play ok) and did a 'D' restart to do a diagnostics test and it didn't find any errors at all.

DVDs not readable, but data CDs are

All of a sudden my iBook stopped reading media DVDs. After I insert a disc, an error message appears, saying "Disc Insertion/ The disc you inserted was not readable by this computer." The DVDs will play in a normal DVD player. Data CDs will still play on my iBook, however. Is there anything I can do by myself or do I need to take it in to an Apple Store?

I have an identical problem on both my iBookG4 and my iMacG5. the G4 has only a combo drive; the G5 has a superdrive. If I weren't so frustrated I would laugh when the G5 tells me a DVD I just burned with iDVD "is not readable by this computer." (it's actually not readable by either but is still readable by my good old Sony Windows and my Samsung dvd/vcr combo....:-)
I have seen (in other posts) discussions about the necessity of Helvetica.dfont (note the d) and I can't find it in my iBook. Do you have this font in your machine? (if not, any idea how we can find it without a complete re-install? I mean, we left Windows to avoid these problems didn't we?)

Why does My Home button not work but i can use it to get in to DFU

Hello, i have an iphone 3gs and my home button doesn't work when it is turned on but i can use it to get into DFU mode. Anyone come across this before.
PS: i think it was previously droped in water but it was drained and everything appart from the home button Works

Possibly the flex connector of the charging dock, flex ribbon (#4) is not perfectly seated down to the logic board.

I dropped my ipod5 on a stone table (really hard) and the color (little part) came off! It's not a big problem but I just got it not long time ago. Can Apple repaire it? Will it be free? P.s. That part it's like 1mmX1mm not big, but I just want to know.

When you get your iPod repaired / replaced... do yourself a favor, spend a few more bucks and but a case, like a Lifeproof or Griffin Survivor. Both cover the entire iPod and offer protection against drops and falls, weather, sand, dust, etc. and will at least minimize if not prevent damage to your iPod. Good luck.

My back up is not encrypted but when I use an app to export my SMS, I get an error saying that the back up is encrypted

In iTunes, my back up is not encrypted (the box isn't checked). But when I use an app to export my SMS, it sends me an error message saying 'Your iPhone backup is encrypted. Open iTunes and disable the "Encrypt iPhone Backup" option'. But I do not have my back up encrypted!!! This is maddening! What do I do?

Was at 1.4.3 previously and faced the same issue as yourself when I upgraded to iOS 5.0.1. Solved it by grabbing the latest sms export s/w.

Issue activating CS 5.5 Design Premium. Serial Number Not Valid but has been used for 4 years.

I have just deactivated CS 5.5 on my old iMac, when i try to use the same serial number when installing it on my new Mac it tells me that 'the serial number is not valid for this product'. Any ideas?

When i try ton print from my printer i keep getting the words (printer not responding ) but i can use my printer using internet exsplorer, why is that !.

When i am using firefox i have tried to use my printer which used to print okay but now every time i try to print anything i keep getting a message saying ( printer not responding and also close program or wait for program to respond.)
I am using windows 7 premium.

Right click the printer in System Prefences - Print & Scan and use Reset Printing System... and then reinstall the printer, should take less than 5 minutes. Here is a photo showing how to Reset Printing System....

Iphone 4 speakers not working, but I can use phone to make calls & hear

Hello, please can anyone help me? My iphone 4 has stopped ringing out or making any other sound through speakers, although I can still use it to make calls & can hear people when I phone them. I've tried resetting it & also powering it off but it has made no difference. Does anyone have any solutions that may help me please?

Check to make sure the mute switch is not in the mute position.
You can also check to see if Do Not Disturb is on or off.

Why can i not add my file to an attachment, it keeps saying it does not exist, but when i use explorer it works fine?

I was trying to upload my written assignment for a class to attach it to an email. The document was in Microsoft work 2007 version. It would not attach it just kept saying that the file is invalid or does not exist. I downloaded explorer and that browser attached the file just fine.

To save time, could I get away with just using ProRes Proxy?

Might be a dumb question. But please play along with me...
I've been battling with FCP-X since it first came out. Beach balls, crashes, failed auto saves, you name it. Sluggishness is my middle name. But I think it might be because I'm trying to force too much quality through my older, less powerful machines and my little firewire 400 hard drive. All three of my Mac are 3-4 years old, all are from the old "Core 2 Duo" era (not quad core processors), and are all maxed out at 4GB of RAM. While I've read that many people are having performance problems with FCP-X even on brand spankin' new suped-up Mac Pros with lots more horsepower than I'm running, I've long thought that my machines and their lack of power by today's standards may be at the heart of my sluggishness problem, especially given that most of the material I work with is shot in 1080 HD. (I've never actually tested it in FCP-X, but I'm assuming that things would speed along more like I've been used to in the past if I would just do everything in Standard Definition 480, but that ain't gonna happen.)
Like many, I shoot most everything in 1080 HD (usually 24p, sometimes 30), unless I'm occasionally shooting 720 HD at 60i for later slowing down to slo-mo.
Here's my question: Most everything I edit is for web delivery, and 99 percent of it is for my own use (not clients). Mostly podcast-like stuff, although occasionally I'll create something for my business website. Most of what I do is talking head type stuff, not a lot of motion (except for the 720/60i slo-mo stuff, which usually has some motion, which is why I shoot it at 60i for slowing down). Most of what I shoot is green screen talking heads, intended to be keyed in front of some innocuous background like some of the generators in FCP-X. I want it to look good. Even great. But given the limitations of power on my machines, I also don't want to invest an eternity in rendering and processing time. The work I'm doing with video just isn't that important. It's mostly for grins.
Until last night, I had been working exclusively in ProRes422 (aka "Optimized"). But last night I shot some footage and imported it into FCP-X, encoding it ONLY in ProRes Proxy. And frankly, I couldn't discern any difference. It looked every bit as good as the 422 stuff I'd shot before. There was absolutely no difference to my naked eye. That said, the footage I shot last night to test this out was not shot in front of the green screen (I'll test that out today or tonight), so maybe the Proxy footage won't key as well. (I've been stunned at how good the keyer is in FCP-X, but up to this point I've only been keying ProRes422 footage, not Proxy.) But really, based on just eyeballing the footage, I couldn't tell the difference between the Proxy footage and all the other footage I'd shot previously that had been imported and converted to "Optimized" ProRes422.
I'm not looking to deliver anything for broadcast television (if I were, I'd for sure use 422). I'm not doing any feature film type stuff. My video work consists mainly of stuff just for me, for my own personal amusement (and for the amusement of anyone who might watch it on the web). It's intended for YouTube, Vimeo, or occasionally (in smaller dimensions than 1920x1080) for deployment on my company website. Mostly, it's just me doing podcast-type stuff. Occasionally I'll shoot and edit something for church, or for friends. I like to think the production values of my stuff tend to be higher than, say, the footage Aunt Delores shot at Uncle Ralph's birthday party (okay, A LOT higher than that!). But my stuff isn't going to air on "Good Morning Flatbush" either (unless, on the off chance it should happen to go viral).
So let me make my question as clear as possible: Could I not get away with just using ProRes Proxy throughout my entire work flow, end to end, never switching over to ProRes 422 even when exporting? Honestly, it has taken hours just to render the keyed green screen footage on a 15 minute video, and just the other night, it took the better part of 4 hours (after it was already rendered) to export a 15 minute ProRes422 sequence to YouTube (and then the darn thing timed out, essentially wasting all my time). I'd rather just stay in Proxy the whole way through if doing so would streamline my workflow without compromising too much quality in the "look" of the video. Based on my very limited use of Proxy (just testing it out last night for the first time), I couldn't tell the difference. Maybe for web deployment, Proxy is all I really need.
Have any of you just stayed in Proxy the whole way through, never switching to 422 even when exporting? Might this be an acceptable work flow for some of us, especially those of us on older, less powerful machines? Is this a viable solution? Do any of you work this way? What's your level of satisfaction?

A lot of what I'm shooting is being shot on a Canon XA-10. Some (and certainly all of the 720 footage, but some of the 1080) is shot on a 7D. And still more is shot on either an iPhone 4S, or even on a Flip Ultra (720p, 30fps).
Most is shot on the XA-10.
What I'm trying to avoid is the excessive render times (doesn't the ProRes 422 footage have to render as well?), and the ridiculously long times it takes to export. Would all that not be reduced significantly by sticking to Proxy the whole way? And what would the trade-off be? I mean, I honestly can't see any discernible difference. Maybe I will when I try to pull a decent key. (Haven't gotten that far yet in my Proxy experimentation.)
Of course, editing in Proxy and outputting using 422 requires that FCP-X encode to BOTH when importing, right? Doesn't that add yet another bit of time to the overall process?
I'm trying to streamline, and to reduce the overall amount of time I'm spending doing this stuff.
