Not ready to give up yet....Initial setup troubles:

Hello. I am attempting to add Time Machine to an existing wireless network. I have followed the directions for doing so, which included resetting Time Capsule's name to a short one (this has been reported to have been an issue in other posts), changing my password, pointing TC to my wireless network, and finally, the TC is supposed to restart. Upon TC restart, Airport Utility is unable to "'see" my TC anymore. I rescan, rescan, rescan, to no avail. (Mind you, my Airport is connected, so there is network connectivity.) I then tried unplugging TC, and plugging it back in. Still not visable. I then reset TC to default settings, and started over again. The same exact process, and the same exact results. No exaggeration, probably 15 attempts over two days.
I really like the concept of this device, and feel like if I can just discover the rosetta stone I need to get it going, I'll be really happy. I have also invested so much time in this already, I really don't want it to be in vain.
So, my friends, can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong or could be doing better. For your information, my goal is to set TC up as an "additional wireless device" on my existing wireless network. I understand that my initial backup should be done by ethernet. I plan on doing that. But I can't do that until I get this initial setup squared away. Thanks.

Hi Richard, I have not done the manoeuvre of primary backup via ethernet (I wish that I had, it took 5 hours but I cannot see that this would make any difference to your problem (I could be wrong of course) - The fact is that there is currently a MASSIVE bug with the Time Capsule Disk in that it will not auto-mount on the desktop - that is, you can't see it!
The quick fix is to open a finder window (Command - N) and select your Airport router in the left hand panel (under 'Shared') and in the adjacent right hand column select 'Time Capsule Disk' - it will then magically appear on the desktop!
Until Apple fixes this issue in their next system update, I have found that this is a simple-enough-for-me workaround which auto-mounts the Time Capsule Disk at login:
Go to Automator > custom action > Files & Folders. Next add/drag 'Get Specified Servers' from the centre column to the right hand column, then you click the 'Add..' button and then select your Time Capsule Disk server (whatever you have named it) in the window which opens and add it to the 'Get Specified Servers' window. Next you add/drag the 'Connect to Servers' function from the centre column to the right hand column - and that's it! Test the Automator app by clicking 'Run' and that should make your Time Capsule Disk appear on the desktop (you can eject it first by dragging it to the trash if it's already there). Finally save the Automator workflow as an application, then put it into your utilities folder and having done that you can then add this new utility application to your Login Items in System Preferences > Accounts so that when you start your Mac the Time Capsule Disk auto-mounts.

UC 520 initial setup trouble

I've got a UC 520 and am having trouble accessing the device to configure the initial setup.
I can connect using the console port, but I can't access the device thru CCA.
I do not get an IP address using DHCP when connected.
I can no ping the default port(s) 10.1.1.1 or 192.168.10.1 when using a static IP address on the same subnet.
I followed the steps on uc500.com to update the sfotware to 8.0.1 and to using the factory-default configuration.
I still can not access the device using CCA. The device also does not give out IP addresses to an IP phone when connected.
ANY tips/suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Press F2 while in CCA to view console logs while CCA does it's voodoo.
In my experience enabling telnet helps ALOT, because in the logs CCA is constantly trying to telnet, but can't if it's disabled and falls back to HTTP.

HT1178 I have purchased a Time Capsule 2TB recently, and I have not been able to complete the initial setup.

I have recently purchased a Time Capsule 2 TB. I have connected it to my BT Infinity Hub via ehternet cable. After connection, the orange continues to flash.
The capsule shows both an IP address and a LAN IP address. It also indicates that its network is Iain's Wi-Fi Network (setup by default).
the Capsule has a couple of messages as follows:
1. Double NAT - This Airport base station (Capsule) has a private IP address on ethernet WAN port, using NAT. It suggests changing setting from DHCP and NAT to bridge mode.
2. Setup over WAN - This Airport base station (capsule) is setup over ethernet WAN port, which decreases network security.
I have tried a soft reset, but nothing has changed and I do not know what changes I need to make to allow the capsule to complete its setup.
I would appreciate an expert opinion on what I need to do to fix the Time Capsule setup.

Please open AirPort Utility and click on the Time Capsule icon
Click Edit in the small box that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window and change the Network Mode to "Off"
Now click the Network tab at the top of the window
Make sure that the setting for Router Mode is Off (Bridge Mode)
Click Update to save the settings
You should have a green light in about 30 seconds. All is well now.

Distributor is not ready to give me new pair of mobile

i have purchased one blackberry curve mobile on 01/04/2011 and after 20 days only there was a complain in that and the company gave me the do letter on 25 april and after that i gave to the shop (Ramdev Telecom) sanpada but they have yet not given me new mobile .They are saying that sent to distributor which is in lower parel and distibutor is saying that they dont have any stock .How many days it take i m totally fedup with all these thing i just want that my case to solve as soon as possible because 1 month has passed and i have not received a new mobile

As i understood On a purchase of 100 TVs--10 DVD players are free(may be 10+1 offer)
Now after receiving customer found 10TVs damaged
(only TVs got damaged--not the free good DVD players)
So he returned those damaged 10 TVs back to Business and he dont want to take this new 10 TVs based on his sales after his seasonal experiences.
So now the adjustment can happen in the following ways:
(solely depends on your understanding with your customer)
1.Adjust the total amount only for 90 TVs(you can use credit memo else invoice correction request)
2.here the question comes is for 90 TVs only 9 DVDs are free--(here again you can do in two ways charge the customer by a debit memo for additional one piece of DVD player or ask the customer to return that one DVD player)

Your iDisk, together with your website and Gallery if you have one, will be unaffected and will continue exactly as before after you migrate to iCloud.
The migration process will probably log you out of MobileMe so you may need to go to System Preferences>MobileMe and log back in to be able to access your iDisk in the Finder. Web access will be unaffected.
You will need Lion 10.7.2 on your iMac.

SCOM 2012 Issue The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized

My SCOM 2012 console all of sudden stopped working when I changed the size of the SQL database for the SCOM server.
The setup is all on a virtual machine running windows 2012, with SQL 2012 running SCOM 2012 SP1. Everything was working until I made the SQL server database size change.
Now I am getting an error when I try to open the SCOM 2012 console. It just says Failed to connect to server servername.internaldomain.com The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized. Check the event log for more information.

The issue got resolved after refresh the SCOM Data base access service account in SQL 2012.
Unable to launch the operations manager 2012 R2 console after extended the C drive of the SQl server ,getting error "The Data
Access service is either not
running or not yet initialized.
Got to your SQL server -->databases-operationsmanager--security-users--locate the daa service account and refresh.issue fixed and am able to luanch.

During initial setup of mac pro, used pc to mac transfer, after transfer mac requires new password to enter account but will not accpt password

During the initial setup of mac book pro, I did the pc to mac transfer. After transfer was complete, mac had two user accounts aspen pc machine? and dell. Upon trying to access either, the mac says I have to enter new password to enter. It will not accept new password. What do I do?

Well....I bit the bullet and called Apple tech support this morning and agreed to pay my $49 for the tech support. I ended up talking to a Boot Camp specialist. In the end his position was that "they didn't support Windows" and my particular problem was a "Windows problem". I countered with the fact that they advertise that one of their selling points was that Windows could run on an Intel Mac and that I ought to at least be able to install Windows. They said that most people were able to install Windows with no problems. I agreed, but told them that, after searching the Internet, I had read numerous posts from folks that had the same problem and that Apple really should address it. They were very polite and even agreed not to charge me the $49, but their final position was that it was a "Windows problem."
I guess that at this point I'll try to return the Windows disk to Amazon and see if they'll give me a replacement.

I think that happens mostly in Nokia phones..You can try by connecting your phone to the computer and then installing Nokia PC Suite. From PC suite try to delete the unwanted messsages..
That is just one of the solution..Here is a link from Nokia that will give you few more tips..

I TRIED TO ACTUALIZE MY SOFTWARE, BUT THE RESTORE SYSTEM HAS MORE THAN 36 HOURS AND IT IS NOT READY YET.... IT SEEMS STOPPED. BUT IA CANNOT RETRY, 'CAUSE IT WILL BEGIN AGAIN FRO THE START..... WHAT CAN I DO TO RESTORE CORRECTLY?

my ipad 2, is not restoring from the last setup.... it is taking more than 36 hours and is not ready, is not finished yet....it seems like stopped... But it is not getting any progress. What I must do to restore and start up again?

If the restore has stopped on the iPad then try putting it into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097

If you are planning on using iCloud to store files, forget about iCloud and use a cloud storage service like SkyDrive or Dropbox. iCloud is focused on information sync between the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and PC instead of storing files like MobileMe. It's not worth using iCloud for this.
If you still want to set up iCloud, open Settings > iCloud, log in with your Apple ID and follow its steps

Firefox is trying to update my 8.0 version to 9.0.1. I'm not ready to do so because the Norton Toolbar is not yet compatable with the new Firefox release. How do I get firefox to stop trying to update every time I open the application?

This reads backwards, It is the other way as "Norton update is compatible with Firefox 9".

Hi, I copied JDev 10.1.3 on my notebook and when I tried to start embedded OC4J I get the following message:
Error initializing server: IO Error: The device is not ready
What should I do? Thanks

If I read correctly, you just copy the existing jdev installation on your PC to your notebook. That sounds like a very dubious practice to me. As seen by you in this particular example, hard-coded non-relative paths, host information, environment settings and etc begin to creep into various configuration or preference files once a piece of software go alive.
Any problem to start a new installation to your notebook?
