Not really a problem...just annoying
my mbp's battery cover moves slightly even when fully attached. it can get really annoying when on a desk it moves. anyone else have this problem?
There is supposed to be slight movement. If there is significant movement, like in this YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbzx--isKN8 , then you should contact Apple.

It should not be a problem, as long as you are careful. Note the delete settings option when uninstalling firefox will delete bookmarks etc for ALL installed versions of firefox.
Firefox attempts to retain the profile information, that include bookmarks etc when updating. It may still be prudent to consider other backup methods not entirely dependent on firefox.
The firefox 4 beta will install by default in a slightly different location, you are then able to run either the current or the beta version of firefox. It is recommended you set up a new profile for the new version of firefox. see

I am switching from ymail to hotmail as my mail client. I am having a VERY difficult time switching my default mail client to Windows Live Hotmail from Yahoo Mail. Please help!!!!! I have followed all the directions for IE8 but of course they don't work with Firefox. Could you send me in the right direction? Thank you so very much for your prompt attention to this matter.

The BBC have announced they will be creating a version of the web iplayer such it will run on the iPhone. The iPlayer is really great for us in the UK as it allows most shows to be viewed at anytime for 7 days after it was originally aired. Yes we can currently record etc... but within a few weeks we'll also be able to sit on a train (with WiFi) and watch our favourite BBC shows on the move, or whilst sat in McDonalds eating a Big Mac...
This is quite genius and goes to show the flexibility the iPhone brings now.

Why is mail sending messages but not receiving? problem just started.

Please look over Apple's Mail Setup, Troubleshooting etc.. link. I suspect a setting has just gotten "confused" or become corrupt somehow. Frequently all you need to do is go into the Mail's Account settings and re-input the settings. -
Small bother, not really a problem
I have a small issue and wondering if anybody could give any advice.
I use my MBP in clamshell most of the time, I do every once and a while disconnect it and use it as a portable. I have it connected to a 23 inch monitor. bother is that when it does go to the 15 inch MBP display, Safari is way to large for that screen, I have to drag it over to the left, use the /// bar and reduce it to fit the screen. Is there anyway that I can set it before I disconnect or when I connect to have it the right size for the screen? I do realize that this is such a small bother. My MBP runs so well and is relatively problem free that I feel a little ashamed to ask this. the 23 inch is 1920 x 1080 Thanks in advance. BillTwo more suggestions:
1) try Window menu > Zoom, which should bring the foremost window within the current display

Not really a question just a funny observation with shares and Finder
I was messing around with the new feature of automatically showing computers with shares in the side bar of finder. One question I do have about this is there anyway to have finder show more about the specific computer I select information on? For example, I right clicked a Windows 2000 server that was automatically showing up and finder told me the computer was a PC however all of the other data was blank. The funniest part about it though was the picture it assigned to the preview of the Windows 2000 server. It just displays a PC with a BSOD lol. Here's a link to the picture.

I can no longer up load images into the backend of my site that I built with Indexhibit. The previous version worked. I'm able to get it done with Chrome but would like to keep everything in Firefox if possible.

Like I say I'm the title... A little part "colour" on my iPod5 came off after I dropped my iPod on a stone table.
I just want to know that can Apple repair it or it doesn't count on the guarantee? It's not a big problem but I just got it few month ago...It's brand new! Do that's why I'm curious..:) and if they can repair... Will it gonna be free?When you get your iPod repaired / replaced... do yourself a favor, spend a few more bucks and but a case, like a Lifeproof or Griffin Survivor. Both cover the entire iPod and offer protection against drops and falls, weather, sand, dust, etc. and will at least minimize if not prevent damage to your iPod. Good luck.

some of my contact names are not appearing when they text message me. They are just showing up as their numbers. I have them saved in my phone so i am not really sure why their names aren't showing up when they message me?
I have this identical problem. For a while my group texts didnt show up on my ipad. Then one day they did, maybe everyone in the group started using the same os version or something. Ever since my first reply to the group there have been complaints of multiple threads. I can not find a pattern for when my group text's decide they want to create a new thread. (it doesnt happen every time) Everyone in the group has deleted the thread, we've all toggled imessage on/off etc. There still hasn't been a solution.
Any help would be appreciated.

OXS server 3 with mavericks, it will not load up the assistant with open directory and will not allow me to use old opeopen directory and will not allow me to use old open directory it was not a clean install just upgrade. any help or advise appreciated as i really need the server.
I wonder if the disk being referred to is actually your iPod which is not plugged in. Maybe something has stuck thinking the iPod should be there.
Try completely removing all the iTunes related programs according to this method.

Restart you PC and see if startup improves.
If it doesn't improve you need to consider the possibility that there is something else going on.
If The problem goes away, hopefully a fresh install will be OK. -
i have been getting this message " no sim installed " too many times then my phone goes off , its iphone 4S , its really a problem i cant get calls or anything and im not sure how to take the SIM out then insert it again , what to do ??
Use the sim tool that came with your phone or a safety pin and just insert it into the hole at the side of the sim tray and push it in and then pull it out. It is no more difficult than that and then just close it again.

I'm not really a computer guy. I just got a Kodak"easy share" camera. When I import the photos they go to the section with my name in a folder. How do I get them from there to iphoto, or better yet, how can i import them directly to iphoto?? As stated, I'm not knowledgable,have an imac and need real rudimentary direction.
in the iPhoto preferences be sure the action when camera is connected is open iPhoto
What program are you using to import the photos?
If they are in a folder you can drag that folder onto the iPhoto icon in the dock to import - our launch iPhoto and under the file menu import from that folder
For real rudimentary directions try the iPhoto tutorials - and it would be a worthwhile investment of time to take the iphoto tutorials - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/ - they are very helpful and will save you a lot of time and frustration. for the concepts - actual commands mya have shanged in some cases - and under the iPhoto help menu ==> iPhoto help - watch the videos there

I just upgraded to iTunes version 10.6.0.40 and now I am having problems connecting to my Airport Express and I get an error message 15000. Does anyone know what that means? I am using an ethernet cable so it is not a wireless problem. Trying to find out if this is realated to the iTunes upgrade. Any ideas out there?

I've ordered a new mac book pro 15" and i need to clean hard drive off my old PC...not really to move them to the mac, but just to save in case needed; mostly pics and office docs....any suggestions?
Buy an external USB hard drive and copy your data to it. Either that or burn them all to single or double layer DVDs (depending on amount of data you have). Or if it's really a small amount, consider putting it all on a USB memory stick.
