For anyone interested, or currently wondering about the iPhone here is something that is of great interest...

The BBC have announced they will be creating a version of the web iplayer such it will run on the iPhone. The iPlayer is really great for us in the UK as it allows most shows to be viewed at anytime for 7 days after it was originally aired. Yes we can currently record etc... but within a few weeks we'll also be able to sit on a train (with WiFi) and watch our favourite BBC shows on the move, or whilst sat in McDonalds eating a Big Mac...
This is quite genius and goes to show the flexibility the iPhone brings now.
Sorry this isn't a Technical Problem, more a Technical Advancement and just thought I'd share it for those currently owning an iPhone or on the cusp of buying one but needed that one last reason to go and get it.

Actually you can use iPlayer on your Mac (I've just been watching Ashes to Ashes), you just can't download programmes on a Mac yet.

It should not be a problem, as long as you are careful. Note the delete settings option when uninstalling firefox will delete bookmarks etc for ALL installed versions of firefox.
Firefox attempts to retain the profile information, that include bookmarks etc when updating. It may still be prudent to consider other backup methods not entirely dependent on firefox.
The firefox 4 beta will install by default in a slightly different location, you are then able to run either the current or the beta version of firefox. It is recommended you set up a new profile for the new version of firefox. see

My Wi-Fi connection on my iMac drops frequently. The other computers in the house do not have this problem. If I go into the Network Preferences and choose my Network it connects immediately but it does not remember the setting and I must reselect my network frequently.
The iMac picks up a wireless signal from the back of the screen, so you would want to avoid having it close to a wall, or in a confined area where the wireless signal cannot easily reach the iMac's antenna.
We don't know how far the iMac is from your wireless router, or how many walls or other obstructions might be in the signal path that would limit the quality of signal that the iMac receives.
Nor do we know whether you might have a cordless phone near the iMac, or whether you may be using a wireless keyboard and/or mouse....all of which can interfere with the wireless signal.

I have heard iphones can tell when someone has read a txt that was sent to another phone. Is the iphone able to do this when the phone the txt is sent to is not a smartphone, but rather it is a verizon samsung infinity slide phone??
No. It is only on imessage which has to be an apple product. ipod, iphone, ipad, or mac. Will not work on other phones.

I can't print using airprint from my iPhone 4. Everything with the phone and the printer and router are up to date. I can print from my iPad 2 with no problems. What's wrong with the iPhone 4?
I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

I own the iphone 4 and i was using safari and went to google something and my phone froze. My computer is not recognizing my phone when I plug it in, and my charger is not allowing my phone to charge. What can i do to get my phone unfrozen?
Try resetting it: hold the on/off and home buttons 10-20 seconds until you see the Apple logo (ignoring the off slider that appears first), then release. If it won't reset you may need to put it in recovery mode and restore it as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.

I really enjoy the speak screen feature, as the voiceover is too inconvenient and tricky to use. The speak screen option works oerfectly for reading, and helps me as I'm dyslexic. However, the Alex voice stops working after the initial use or soon after. I then have to restart the phone every time in order to get the speak screen to acruelly speak again. Really annoying and was hoping that IOS 8.2 Would fix this, but it appears it had not fixed this bug. Any help with this?

The only additonal troubleshooting options after powering the iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset, and resetting network settings on the iPhone is restoring the iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup and/or restoring with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup.
If no change after restoring as a new iPhone or not from the backup - the same when connected to any wi-fi network besides your own as well as not being able to maintain internet access when connected to your carrier's cellular network, the iPhone has a hardware problem. -
After getting iCloud the iCal on my mac does not sync with my iPhone calendar. All of my calendar notes are in my iPhone (while the mac's Ical remains empty) so I need to backup the iphone version. How?
Itunes says that "your calendars are being syncronized with iphone using icloud" - but the mac's ical does not show any of the new events I have added on my iphone.
I would like to install the new update on my iphone, but I am afraid to do it without knowing that I will be able to restore my iphone calendar. I have made calendar events for many years to come, I and will not risk losing them!
I have been looking for tips online, but the solutions usually suggest that I backup the ical on the mac and start fresh using this version. When the iPhoto Library was first migrated to Photos there was a folder created in the sidebar titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events (which are now Moments) are represented by an album in that folder. To open the sidebar if it's not already open use the Option+Command+S key combination.
There's a way to simulate events in Photos.
When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N. Name it as desired. It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the iPhoto Events folder
When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window.
The downside to the simulation is that the Albums/Events can only be sorted automatically by Title. But they can also be sorted manually, either in the sidebar or in the folder's window at the right.

My iphone 3gs on off button does not work. Is there another way to reset the phone?
The on/off button on my iphone 3gs does not work. I cannot shut the phone down to reboot and it is stuck in a no service. I cannot get cell or internet service. Is there another way to reboot the phone? Possibly a soft reset?
The screen goes to voice control. It only recognises the home button not the on/off button. Is there a way to soft reset the phone?

how dead is your computer?
Did the system drive survive? You could get try to remove the drive from the mac and have it put into an enclosue, so you can use it as an external drive.
But if the system drive is dead as well, I do not see a way to read the data on your dead computer.

On 25th JUNE I synched my ipone 3 gs to my PC with Outlook in Windows 7.
All the voice memos that I had recorded using the iphone app where backed up and appeared on my itunes voice memos BUT all the NOTES written on my iphone NOTEs app where not synched to notes in Outlook on my PC…in fact…. all the notes that I had entered into my iphone were GONE and the notes that appeared on the iphone where the same that were on my PC back in 27th Jan 2012…..so all the notes that I had entered into the iphone from January to June were gone…..NOT happy Jan!!

The Voice memos can across OK so why didn’t the NOTES…..and NO I did Not have icloud turned on as I have always used itunes as the back up…that is why I bought the iphone.Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"? There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.

The above can get pretty complicated. You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content. -

Tap the Photos icon in the Dock at the bottom of of the screen.
If you don't see the photos there, tap Settings > iCloud
Turn Photo Stream off then back on then restart your iPad.
Hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off. After it is off, press the power button to turn it back on
