Not really Badly Broken iPod Touch 5th Gen Pink 32GB

So i've got an iPod Touch 5th Gen Pink 32GB, No Warranty and it was damaged not really badly, It has a Dent backing near camera, Screen not working but it opened when it drops. So what should i do? does Apple will give you a refurbished one or something? and how much will it cost in Australia?
PS: Its not mine My friend accidently drop the iPod

Accidential damage is not covered under warranty. Apple will still replace your iPod (with a refurbished one) but you will have to pay for it.

That happens sometimes:
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Music will not play on new iPod touch (5th gen.)

Some music will not play on my brand new (5th gen.) iPod touch. I see a "play" arrow blinking next to the battery icon. Any clues on what the problem is?

Apple shows not ONE case for iPod Touch 5th Gen?

Got iPod Touch for my Mom (89yrs) for Xmas. Astonished to find NO cases for 5th generation on Apple Store! Anyone know what the problem is re this and where I might find a rugged but light case for the blue one?

It took them a while to get the iPhone 5 cases in.
Speck makes iPod touch 5th generation cases.They're a pretty good brand.
However, I don't have a case since the new material on the back is so durable. Any mark on it, I've been able to wipe off. I just have a screen protector.

Headphone jack pins broken (iPod touch 5th gen.)

One of the two small pins inside my iPod touch's headphone jack sticks out too far, pushing out any jack I use with my iPod. Any ideas on how to fix this or for what cost Apple can do this? (I have no more warranty).

My service provider's SMTP does not require a password but the option "non" does not appear on the IPOD Touch 5th gen. Fix?

I have relay.skynet.be as my outgoing server and it does not require/allow password protection. When configuring mail on the Ipod the option of "non" is not given for the outgoing server. Is this a skynet issue or is there an Ipod solution?

How to delete all inbox emails at once: iPod Touch 5th Gen ?

IOS 7, iPOD Touch 5th Gen
While I can delete multiple emails at once on my iPad 2 (inbox> Edit> Check first email> Hold MOVE while unchecking first email> Release Move > (all emails stack up) then, >Trash
this does NOT work on the iPod Touch 5th Gen.
When I do those steps, it "appears" to work but then, the emails go right back to the inbox.
I've also tried the other method that incorporates using "Mark all as read" - as an extra step - (read it on Apple Support Forums) but apparently it works on iPhones, not iPod Touch 5.

Ipod Touch 5th Gen is not charging

Hi Everyone! I badly need your help! I have an Ipod touch 5th gen that was bought 5 months ago and I encountered a hardware malfunction (ipod have black scren and not charging at all) so I brought it to the genius bar and had it repaired after two months cause it was sent to singapore it was going smoothly until yesterday when I left it to 20% battery remaining, the next morning when I plugged it in to a USB cable to charge it, it wasn't charging at all it only shows black screen and nothing I've tried plugging it to another computer and tried to use a different cable (My Aunt's) but not working so I tried plugging my Aunt's phone to my cable but its working/ My itouch is not opening even if I did the hard reset many times and even thought I connected it to itunes. itunes doesnt recognize it.. I dunno anymore.. its really frustrating!!!please help me guys.... T.T

Ipod touch 5th gen will not play songs correctly

So I got a new ipod touch 5th gen for christmas. When I put songs into a playlist and play them they dont always play in the correct order, or sometimes they dont play at all. I had no problems with it the first week I had it but then all of a sudden it didnt play the music correctly. It will skip one song and then play another song a second time in place of it.   Then sometimes it will randomly skip the last bit of a song and go to a different one but when I go in and look at the songs being played it says its still playing the song that it decided to skip. It also will play the songs in a different order than what I put them in along with the previous problems listed ocurring. Please let me know if theres anything I can do to fix this or if I should send it in to apple or maybe even take it back and exchange it for a different one. If i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it as the option 'set up as new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos and ect?

The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. I have had them all for only relatively short periods of time yet the lightning cable has stopped working on all of them?
On the touch, charging has stopped completely?

Hi, yes I'm using the original apple cables.
This definitely isn't user error nor confined just to me, the devices are used by different people in the home.
On a quick sample around the office (survey of 7 people let me add) 4 of them said the cables had broken on them and had to be replaced.
Having also searched through the forums it appears this is a fairly widespread issue.
It's defo not user error!

IPod Touch 5th Gen will connect to computer and display in iTunes, but will not turn on

I've had my iPod touch 5th gen in a Lifeproof case and was taking some pictures, and lo and behold, the case seal leaked. I got water inside my case and immediately turned my iPod off and placed it in rice. After two weeks of drying in rice in a warm environment, I removed it and decided to try it out again. Much to my chagrin, my iPod would not turn on and could not be placed in recovery mode; I've tried to place it in both recovery and DFU mode, if only for some response, but nothing. It displays no screen image, no error message, nothing. It shows up in iTunes just as normal, with the name, and I can even view the sync menus for the device. However, I cannot access any pictures (my iPod has a passcode that must be entered first, and to enter the passcode I would have to turn the device on, which is so far impossible).
PLEASE HELP. Lifeproof will replace my case but not my device, and I have several weeks of photos, lots of music, and unsynced apps. (I know I should have backed up more recently, but life gets busy and I wasn't anticipating such a problem).

- Then charge overnight and try what you did before
If still does not work:
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99 for 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs.. They do not fix yours.

Ipod touch 5th gen tilt function not working

Hi
I recently got a replacement (from apple) for my Ipod Touch 5th Gen 64gb due to the home button being broken. It is running the latest software which I believe is IOS 8.1.1
Note - other than the broken button I had absolutely no issues with my old Ipod.
When I received the Ipod only 3 days ago I did the normal process of restoring from back up etc but have noticed that the tilt function is not working.
I have tried all the obvious solution - first being checking portrait orientation isn't locked, then resetting the Ipod via holding down lock and home button and finally I have done a factory reset and still have had no luck with this issue. Is there an easy fix to this or am I going to have to go back to the Apple store?

If you successfully restored (went through all steps without error) to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Having real issues with my iPod touch 5th gen touchscreen not responding when it's on charge. Parts of the screen go dead or need several taps etc. Tried removing case etc. made sure I'm using included charger and directly to the mains not on an extension. Is it faulty?
