Not receiving e-mails from comcast

I am not receiving e-mails from a friend who is with comcast.  Several other people from verizon are also having this problem.  The message is not in my spam folder.  I have tried to solve it at this end and she has tried at comcasts end.  Neither takes responsibility.  Do my filers need adjusting to receive comcast mail?  It is very frustrating.

Thank you.  I did find the message in my spam detector.  However, I don't understand why it doesn't go into my regular inbox.
If its a sender you want you can identify the sender as safe.  Then a copy goes to spam detector and the inbox.
They do not give what the rules are for the Spam Detector thinking a message is spam.  To do that would give spammers a hint on how to get around it.  But I have noticed a few things that causes valid mail to be thought to be spam.  E.g..  messages with exclamation points in the Subject.

  • Iphone mail app not receiving e-mail from 1 sender

The Mail app on my iPhone 6/iOS 8.3 is not receiving e-mail from one sender sent to my Outlook e-mail account. This sender's e-mail address is "[email protected]". It is a notification of digital magazines available from Zinio. I know the mail app is not receiving the e-mail because Outlook 2013 on my desktop and Outlook.com do receive these e-mails. How can I get the mail app on my iPhone to receive these e-mails from this address?

Initially it sounds like something with your backup data caused the issue with your new device but if you restored your device again without using the backup and the issue still exists it wouldn't appear to be the issue at all. Since the problem seems to only be with one person are you sure it's not an issue on their end and with their network that is stopping you from receiving the messages? Have you tried *228 option 2 to see if that helps?

  • Mac E-Mail Not Receiving Incoming Mail From ATT/Yahoo Mail Server

Recently "upgraded" to ATT U-verse. My Mac email client (3.6) suddenly not receiving incoming mail from the web-based ATT/Yahoo. Settings-all are correct: Telephone talk with Tier 1 and Tier 2 ATT reps confirmed "unusual" problem, and that the settings (ports, ssl, etc.) are indeed all correct. Tier 2 supervisor referred ticket (F23576784) to the brilliant minds at Yahoo for help. I've heard nothing for five days. Some emails do get received on my client, from (Apple, ATT, for example). Others languish on the web-based mail, with no push to my iMac. Tests of sending myself e-mails continue to confirm problem, with test emails sitting at Yahoo server, no push to my Mac client.
I am able to send e-mails successfully from client. Interestingly, a couple of incoming e-mails from friends did manage to slip through the lines and arrive in my Mac client a couple of days late. Brave little souls, they're not talking.
I've tried all sockets, all other settings possible, but no luck. Why is there no straight-forward answer to this proliferating problem? Odd e-mail behaviors? No documented or shared answers by the big outfits to Mac users? Mac mail virtually disabled and useless? Has anyone found a path to resolving the varied but similar problems in this area yet? Thanks in advance for any help offered beyond adjusting preferences over and over and over. That ain't working.

Geez, some emails are getting through, most are not forwarded to my client MacMail. They are also marked as read, which could mean that Yahoo is forwarding them somewhere...(?) Can't get ahold of Yahoo, ATT forwards me to Yahoo, Yahoo has no method of emailing real, technical questions, ATT supervisor actually called Apple and there is nothing wrong with the OS or my set up requirements.
Does anyone know a workaround for setting up smtp requirements? Can't switch email clients at this time, would take a lot of changing existing contact info for bizz.
At this point all I would like to know is, where is the problem? Why does a server (ATT/Yahoo) send some mail to my account, not send others, and marks all messages on the webmail as read? Thanks for the one response, I do believe the problem is some minor error set at the isp's server software for Macs, but who knows?

  • Do not receive E-mail from apple.

have forgotten my password.assigning my E-mail for recoving password.i do not receive E-mail from apple

I have a similar issue: I can send and receive email on my MBA, from my iPad and iPhone, but suddenly I can't send or receive on my MBP (computers running 10.8.4). I can get mail from icloud.com.
In System Preferences I signed out of my icloud account and then re-entered my credentials and signed in again: No Change.
I have the Triangle with the ! in the middle of it next to my Inbox. I've gone to Mailboxes > Take all accounts on Line with no change.
In Mail Preferences nothing has changed and all Accounts tabs are exactly the same as on my MBA which succesfully receives mail.
The Connection Doctor indicates that there is a problem with iCloud IMAP mail.
I've tried turning off SSL: No Change
    What to do?

  • I am not receiving e-mail from the teacher of the class.

I am not receiving e-mails from my teacher. Classmates cannot forward his messages to me.
The teacher can send me a personal (one person) message but not messages to the class as a whole.
I  use Apple mail on my Macbook and Outlook (on my PC).

    Hi David!
Your not alone. Many users haven't received any since Sat 12/31/05. Myself included.
The Email notification function seems to be, occasionally problematic.
I'm sure it's one of the things being ironed out.
I have noticed that when the Emails don't get sent for a period of time, they will eventually catch up.

  • Not Receiving E-mails from a particular sender

I belong to a mom's group that uses yahoo group's e-mail to communicate to each other.  If you want to send an e-mail to the mom's club, you just type in the yahoo group address and it goes out to all the members.  For some unknown reason I stopped receiving the e-mails from this address yesterday.  Has anyone ever had a problem like this?  I can send e-mails no problem and receive e-mails from everyone else.  I called Verizon's tech support and they played around with my settings and then said everything looked fine and nothing was blocking the sender so it must be on Yahoo's end.  I have had this happen before, but it has never lasted this long.  I am going on over 24 hours without getting a single e-mail from the yahoo group.  I know it is not on yahoo's end because I had the admin. of the group add my hotmail account to the e-mail loop and as soon as she did, I started getting the e-mails at that address but still  nothing at my verizon.net account.  Any ideas?  Any advice would be appreciated.  Michele

could be a couple of things but the most likely reason is that that email address made it onto your block senders list, even though they said no. First, is your email address a verizon email? Second are you using web mail or an email program?

  • Not downloading all mail from comcast server older than 5 months

    Hey all,
I'm trying to download my mail from Comcast. Last time that i DL'ed mail to Thundermail was late March. For some reasons, it will only dl mail from 7/28/14 forward. I tried deleting my popstate.dat file, but all that did was DL the same stuff again, so now I have 4182 x 2 messages in my inbox.
any ideas why it's not going all the way back to early march? Is there some setting in Thunderbird that is preventing it from going back?
Back in January of this year, when I first installed thurndermail the program downloaded a full two years of e-mail.
    thx
    Mark

Since you are in this "company" are you in a Domain and using a Exchange Server? If so, what version of Windows server and version of Exchange server are they running?
Plus you could see if any problems are coming up by going to the Mail's menu item called 'Window' and select "Connection Doctor". This will pop-up and before you start make sure you look in the right hand corner to show Details and then do the check. This way you see where Mail is communication with the email server and then trace down what step it is failing.

  • Not receiving e-mail from certain addresses

I've never had this problem before, but I'm not receiving any emails that come from the community college e-mail system where my husband works. I used to receive them, but today, three different people tried to send me an e-mail from the same place, and I didn't receive them. They aren't in my spam folder. What else should I check? Thank you. The e-mail addresses are from [email protected] Thanks!

    Hi,
Did you select “Directory Management Service” option, if so, please make sure you configure the Central Administration application pool identity account to have the Create, delete, and manage user accounts right to the container that you specify in Active Directory.
Did you install Exchange server 2003 in your MOSS environment? If so, you should add an SMTP connector in Exchange Server, if you don’t know how to do that, you can post your issue into the following forum:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrdeploy/threads
Also, please check whether your configuration meet the following requirements, If not, correct them and check the effect.
    ·         The application pool account for Central Administration, the logon account for the Windows SharePoint Services Timer service, and the application pool accounts for your Web applications should have the correct permissions to the e-mail drop folder.
    ·         The domain controller running Active Directory has a Mail Exchanger (MX) entry in DNS Manager for the mail server that you plan to use for incoming e-mail.

  • Not receiving a mail from registering the Distribution Agreement

I try to get a Adobe Reader Distribution agreement, since we are including the adobe reader to our product cd. But once I've submitted the form I fail to get the email verification neccesary to complete the authorization process. For testing I tried to add my private email, and this worked fine, but for my company email, it failed. And Yes, I have checked the company spam filter for the mail.
    Any ideas why this is?
    kind regards

  • Mac Mail Not Receiving New Mail from Exchange

Hey everyone, in the last few days, I've noticed that my Mac Mail isn't downloading new messages from my company's exchange server.
I can log into the web-based exchange server and see new messages sitting there, unread. If I quit Mail and re-open it, it fixes the problem, but taking all of the accounts offline and bringing them back online does not fix the problem.
Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it? I'm thinking some cache might be full or something.
    Thanks in advance

Same problems here. Glad I'm not the only one.
After looking at the Activity window, this is what it displays:
    http://screencast.com/t/NWU4N2Q5M
The Connection Doctor just says that all accounts were able to log in successfully, so no help there.
After clicking on the Stop Sign icon beside the stuff in the activity window (which effectively "stops" that task it's beside), I can then right click and "synchronize" my Exchange account and it receives all messages immediately, including the inbox. It's a work around, but I'm not sure that just command+Q and reopen wouldn't be easier.
It appears that a receive action just freezes up, which is why a resync before you kill the first sync doesn't fix it and a quit+restart does. As a side note, I can send messages through Exchange just fine when this receive lockup occurs.
Apple, please look into this...you have a better mail client than M$, but at least theirs stays connected.

  • Both my iPad and iPhone have stopped receiving e-mail from Comcast using the Mail app.

This is really frustrating.  I just spent an hour on the phone with a fairly good Comcast tech, and he couldn't solve the problem.  They said it might be because Mail goes through iCloud, and iCloud may be having trouble.
I have tried restarting both the iPad and iPhone, changing ports, deleting and re-setting up the comcast mail account, etc.  I am able to view my e-mail on my MacBook Pro using Outlook, and the Comcast website e-mail is also OK.
Any suggestions?  It would be good if I could talk to an Apple tech, but apparently that is not an option.

Thanks for the additional information.  No error messages.  No issues w/ POP3 e-mail being locked out....
I had not changed any settings before this problem occured.  Both Mail apps on the iPad and iPhone just crashed.  I believe in causality (I am a Physicist), so probably it wasn't anything on my iPad or iPhone.
It has become all too common for tech companies to blame anyone but themselves.  As a customer with little control or input, I find this infuriating.
Now, both my iPad and iPhone have started working again, after nearly 6 hours w/ out e-mail working.
    Maybe it was sunspots!
    Thanks again!

Start by postng your setup for Gmail, server addresses, ports and security settings, also run connection doctor and report what it says.

Check in your junk folder, and the settings of your email or webmail, also check the email address you have in your profile. Look at [/users/edit]
If you are talking about this forum, then you logged on to write the message I am looking at, so you will be able to change your own password, without needing to receive any email. I am wondering if you are trying to change the login/display name.
