Not Receiving eMail, Battery Life Going Fast

This weekend, all of a sudden my battery life started going fast, and then I was not receiving eMail messages.  I have re-registered all my eMails at att.Blackberry and pulled the battery out to restart my phone.  I can send eMails, but am still not receiving on my bberry.  Any ideas?
Thanks!

Finally a solution that worked!! T-Mobile and Customer Care unfortunately were not able to assist, but Research in Motion(RIM) the manufacturer of my phone solved the email problem! Apparently, the older version of facebook causes conflicts with reception of emails.  You need to go into your Options, Advanced Options, then Applications, then choose Facebook.  Click the menu key, and then select modules, then scroll all the way down your list until you see "net_rim_bb_facebook".  Beside it you will see the version number.  You need to have version 1.2.0.35
If you have an earlier version, delete Facebook.  When you delete it you will be prompted to restart your phone.  When you restart, the facebook icon will be on your phone's "desktop."  Click on it, and it will take you to the website so you can download the new version.

  • Why is my battery life going so quickly

I just bought this iPad mini and the battery life goes down 5% in a half hour. How can I get more battery life?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • HT3376 I am not receiving emails in my Mail account.  However, I am receiving them on my web based yahoo account and on my ipad.  The other strange thing is that on my Mac, I have been receiving emails from Apple.  How can i fix this problem?

I am not receiving email messages in my Mail account on my Mac OSX.  However, emails are being received on my ipad and my yahoo web site.  Also, all emails from Apple are going through in my Mail account.  How do I fix this problem?

Well, the other person said theirs was working now. On yours let's try this...
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist.

  • New ISP - not receiving email

I have a relative with an eMac running 10.3.9. She recently switched to a new ISP and is not receiving email in Mail. She has to use web mail to retrieve it. Sent mail goes out ok from Mail, web-surfing works. She revised the account information in the previous email account in Mail, typing in the new email address, password and server info. I believe the problem is that she should create a new email account in Mail and disable the old account (archive and delete). Any ideas to resolve the incoming email issue? I will try my idea tonight and report whether it works or not.

    Hi RarelyDan,
Welcome to the Apple Discussion forums!
You may wish to try the troubleshooting tips found in Apple's Mail Help:
"If you can't receive email, try the following:
    ▪ Send yourself a test email. The mail has to go out through your outgoing mail server and back into your incoming mail server. This is a good basic test of your account and server information.
    ▪ Make sure your computer can perform other Internet tasks, such as opening a webpage. If not, choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Network. Choose Network Status from the Show pop-up menu. A green dot indicates that you are connected to the Internet or a network. If you aren't connected, go to the Finder and choose Help > Mac Help, then search for "Connecting to the Internet."
    ▪ Choose Mail > Preferences and click Accounts. Verify your account name and password. Your account name will usually be either your email address ([email protected]) or the part of your email address to the left of the "@" (tclark3). If your Internet service provider (ISP) lets you access your email via a web browser, you may be able to verify your name and password there. If the same information does not work using a web browser or your ISP doesn't offer a web-based mail option, confirm your user name and password with your ISP or network administrator. Remember to type your email password, not your Mac OS X user account password or ISP password (if different).
    ▪ Find out if you can reach your incoming mail server from your computer. Open Network Utility, located in Applications/Utilities, and click Ping. Ping is a simple network testing tool that shows whether a server computer is running and can be reached from your computer. Type the mail server name (such as mail.mac.com) or IP address in the address field, and click Ping. If you see 10 repeating lines, then the server can be reached. If you see a message such as "ping: unknown host bogus.apple.com," then the server is either down or unreachable.
    ▪ Mail works with the following account types: POP, IMAP, .Mac, and Exchange (only if configured as an IMAP server). You can't log in directly to Hotmail, AOL, or any service that does not support POP or IMAP access, and retrieve email using Mail.
    ▪ If you have an IMAP account, it may be placed "offline" if Mail can't access it. Choose Mailbox > Online Status. If you see the choices Go Online or Take Account Online, connect to the Internet, and then choose Mailbox > Online Status > Go Online.
    ▪ Make sure there is no firewall software blocking email traffic. A firewall works by selectively blocking network traffic. Mac OS X has a built-in firewall, which you turn on and off using the Sharing pane of System Preferences. Open System Preferences and click Sharing, then click Firewall. Make sure your firewall is off.
    ▪ You may be affected by another firewall, either software installed separately from Mac OS X or built into an Internet sharing router, or administered by your ISP or network administrator. Contact the appropriate person to find out whether a firewall may be in place.
    ▪ If you have changed options (such as Use SSL or Authentication) in the Advanced pane of your email account preferences, check with your ISP or system administrator for the correct settings."

Do you gotta plug up your iPod 5 gen while it's updatting to ios8? Because I updated mine and it won't stay charged plus it's losing battery life very fast.

You have not provided enough info to really help. How fast is fast?
What shows it will not stay charged?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • Not receiving emails from other I pads

Not receiving emails from other iPads

Just other iPads or in general?
Have those other iPads send mail that you can access on a PC and see if their mail is going through.
Can you access other mail or just mail from those iPads?
What is the mail provider involved?
More details can help in finding an answer

  • Exchange 2013, a distribution group within a distribution group is not receiving emails.

Here's the explanation of what's going on:
"A" is an internal distribution group containing other internal contacts, and internal distribution groups "B" and "C". "B" is a working distribution group that contains all internal contacts. "C" contains all
external contacts, who will successfully receive emails sent directly to "C". The problem is, when you send an email to "A", everyone in "B" receives the email, but no one in "C" does. "C" is set to receive
emails from external sources and has correct SMTP settings as far as I can tell.
Is this problem related to the fact that "C" is full of external contacts? Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere that will allow "C" to receive emails sent to "A"?
Edit: Group "C" can not receive emails at all.

Sorry, i meant does the mailbox you are sending the email FROM have permission to send emails TO external email address?
Our exchange server is set up so that certain people can only email internal addresses. This is configured in the ECP under Mail Flow - Rules, and is basically configured to state that anyone within the AD group "internal only" to reject the message and
provide the explanation "you are not allowed to email externally".
If the mailbox you are sending the mail from is not permitted to email external contacts, it wont work.
It can be tested by emailing one of the addresses in Group C individually.

  • OWA is not receiving emails // SBS 2003

    Hi Guys!
I have a following problem on my SBS 2003 Server, I do not receive emails when I access my mailbox with Outlook Web Access from home or any remote location. But if the outlook on my workstation is left on it is ok, mails are popping up right away on the
    OWA too.
It was working great for me for many years.
I looked over the internet but nothing seemed to help yet...
I deleted and then created new .ost file, I have cashed mode switched off, I deleted forwarding rule that I had to my private account.
Do you have any ideas what might cause this?
    Any help would be appreciated!

Most interesting. From the sound of it your Outlook is somehow set to trigger the release of mail into the Exchange server, which I have never seen. Whether SMTP or POP3, mail should arrive at the Server and OL or OWA are just "windows" or "periscopes" to
allow viewing.  Is it possible that your Outlook is popping for the mail and the default mailbox is the Exchange server?
For your home copy of OL, consider Outlook Anywhere instead of VPN.  VPN's are old school and expose your business network to any nastiness that creeps into your remote systems.  You will find instructions on the RWW landing page.
For SMTP... you should have a static IP at the office, forward port 25 from your edge device/firewall/router to the ip of your SBS, then change your MX record at your public DNS host to point to your public IP (some use A records for the IP and the
MX points to the A record, some use IP numbers, check with your DNS host), then run the CEICW wizard specifying SMTP mail.
As for mail getting lost or something going wrong.... yes it can.  But so can POP3.  Historically there have been more issues with POP3 than SMTP.  Consider that only the smallest of the organizations would use POP3, that every business larger
than those in the SBS space uses SMTP and you get the idea.  SMTP is "store and forward", meaning if your system is off line for some little time the mail will still come.  Usually it will not be returned to sender for about 48 hours, which is sufficient
time to get the SBS back on line or to change the MX record back until it is.  There are also web services that will act as backup mail servers and hold your mail, some that will allow "Web Mail" access to it, and some that will do both and are very low
    cost or even free.

  • My Sprint cellphone has not received emails since yesterday and I entered the correct settings incoming and outgoing from my Thunderbird email account, advise?

I have not received emails on my Sprint Galaxy S3 since yesterday morning. I can send but not receive. I have matched my settings to the phone from my Thunderbird account. I thought I had everything synced. Sprint told me there may have been a change in server settings from Thunderbird but I never received any notification from Thunderbird. I am at a loss and not very good at this so any help will be appreciated.
If anyone can answer and I don't respond quickly, I will answer as soon as possible. Thank you.

Thunderbird is not an email provider. It has no servers to have settings to be changed. It is email client software just like the one you have on your phone. You would need to get the correct server settings from your email provider and set your phone to use them correctly.
Too bad that the "helpless desk" at Sprint is not smart enough to know that.
Thunderbird software does not run on any mobile phones so troubleshooting your phone is outside the scope of this forum.
One thought, is your email account set up as IMAP or POP?
You really need an IMAP account if you are going to use multiple devices to check your email. If you use POP and have your computer set to remove the emails off the server then there are no messages left on the server of your email provider for the phone to download. IMAP email is server based and the messages are left on the server and remotely viewed by the remote devices.

  • TS3899 Since I updated my iphone, I am not receiving email on my .mac account.  What's wrong?

Since I updated my iphone to I0S6, I am not receiving email on my .mac account.  What's wrong?

Tim, I was speaking generally. Obviously the iOS upgrade didn't remove the ability to charge on ALL 3rd party devices, else my iH9 wouldn't charge it either.
What I just can't understand is how an old iHome model works just fine with a new iPhone, yet a new iHome model will not. If anything, I would think it would be the other way around.
Anyway, I emailed iHome explaining my situation and I asked if they had planned on releasing a firmware update to fix the problem. I got the typical generic response about unplugging the iHome & removing the batteries for an hour then trying again. And if that doesn't work, send it in for repair in which I would need to pay for the shipping.
If I decide to go that route, I think it's just going to be a waste of time as I would get the iHome back "repaired" and it would have the exact same problem. But I guess I'll never know until I try.
I remember reading on these forums about several others having the same problem. So what are the odds that the iHomes these other people got who are experiencing the same problem are problematic as well? Unless the "repair" iHome is referring to is a firmware update, I don't really buy into this.

I am seeing the same thing this morning as well, and going to the Newsgroups through web browser insted of clicking on link in the email announcements show evry topic as answered and every topic locked.
I wonder if there is problem in the system.
Funny thing this locked down post/no announcements, showed up after I sent a question of being sent muliple exact copies of post with only the authors being different. In other words if there were 50 replies to a post I would receive 51 announcments and clicking on them would be identical. when on each succedding post there should one additional thread. and if you went back an announcement one one less thread should show up.

  • My new iPod nano does not get the battery life that is advertised

Help me my iPod nano does not get the battery life that is advertised

Which battery life are you referring to? Apple's website states the iPod Nano 6th Gen will get "up to 24 hours of music playback when fully charged". There are going to be a lot of things that can change that. Are you using the stopwatch or the count down timer a lot? Are you using the FM radio a lot? Any accessories that you are using with the iPod? These will all have an effect on your battery life.

  • My Mac is not receiving emails, but my iPhone receives emails. How can I fix this?

I have a MacBook Pro Retina with OS X Yosemite 10.10.2. I recently tried to send a large file through the iCloud email drop. The email stayed in my outbox for a day and made my email app extremely slow. The email never sent, so I deleted the email from my outbox and restarted the program. Now, my email is no longer receiving any emails. The same email account on my iPhone receives emails, but my Mac email program will not receive emails. I've restarted the program and the Mac, but nothing has resolved the problem. Any suggestions???
