Not receiving email confirmations from new website registrations

I haven't been receiving any email confirmations from the various websites that I have been trying to register on. If I try the "forgot my password" function on these sites I don't get any replies to those either. I have been receiving emails replies from emails I have sent directly from Mail, and emails from those in my address book.
Any ideas what might be causing this?
I have asked Roadrunner to check their server to see if there might be something blocking some emails, and am waiting for their reply.

  • One Yahoo! mail account does not receive email sent from .mac

OK, this is an odd problem, and any help would be appreciated.
My girlfriend's Yahoo! mail account does not receive email sent from my .mac address. If I send email from my Gmail or Yahoo! accounts she receives the message. No one else has informed me that they haven't received email from the .mac address. Additionally, the .mac account is in her address book.
Anyway, has anyone seen a similar pattern with Yahoo! or any other email provider?
    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply . . . and yes, the recipient's email provider likely holds the answer.
However, I was hoping someone here might have had a similar experience and could answer as the email provider is Yahoo, and they are slow in responding to help requests . . . for a period I hosted a personal, paid website through Yahoo Domains and help tickets lingered for several days on multiple occasions (this being the reason the site is no longer hosted by Yahoo). I also doubt Yahoo will expend too much energy resolving a problem for a free email account.
Anyway, I posted in the Yahoo mail forums, and hopefully something will come-up . . . .

  • HELP ... Not receiving email messages from particular Yahoo Group

Ever since the evening of 3/26 every member of my Yahoo Group with an email address from Comcast.net has not been able to reliably receive messages from the group. Out of over 40 emails since then, we've received 4 (2 on 4/1 and 2 this morning). There are no error messages involved, there are just no emails in our inboxes. Yahoo does not indicate that any of the messages have "bounced". The messages are not in my spam folder (in fact, the first Comcast "helper" i worked with had me turn off the spam filter in Comcast, net) Oddly, I (and the others) can receive messages from other Yahoo Groups that we are members of, just not ours: SoundOfNewEngland I was on the phone with Comcast for 2.5 HOURS on 4/3 and was basically told that since I could receive a test message from Comcast that the error must be with Yahoo!   After contacting Yahoo, I was told that since others in the group can receive the messages, that the error must be with Comcast. <sigh> The last email I got from Yahoo said that Comcast would need to add Yahoo info into the Comcast whitelist. I told this to a Comcast technician during a help chat on 4/5 ... and she told me to fill out this form: http://www.comcastsupport.com/sdcxuser/asp/comcast_blockedprovider.asp I did that even tho the issue is that the Yahoo Group's messages were being blocked and I didn't have an IP address for those, but I could provide the domain name:  yahoogroups.com I tried to put the info that Yahoo Groups gave me for the whitelist, but the description is limited to 1024 characters  Needless to say, I have not received a resonse from Comcast within 24 hours of posting the form  Here is the info from Yahoo!: "Since you have already reviewed your settings, and confirmed that the emails are not landing in your spam folder, you will need to follow up with your email provider again, since it appears that they are dropping emails from the group. Email providers generally do this because they think a message is spam, and they are particularly likely to use this approach with bulk messages coming from an email list.
If you have not done so already, you can provide them with the following link:
    http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ygmailadmin/
There, they can find a current list of all of our outgoing email servers for white listing.
They can also contact the owner of this official Yahoo! Group, for further assistance in troubleshooting this issue, by sending an email to:
[email protected]    However, if your email provider continues to fail to deliver your Yahoo! Group messages, we strongly suggest you consider changing your email provider to another provider who will. This doesn't necessarily mean you need to change your ISP. You can also use a free Web-based email service like Yahoo! Mail or Hotmail while retaining your current ISP." If it helps, the Yahoo incident # is: 120402-011733 It's not a big group, only 86 members. All together we generate maybe 100 messages a month ... not even close to being considered spam.  Most of the members are older and not comfortable with new technology. Asking them to create new emails is not an option.  This group is our primary means of communicating with each other, so the sooner we get this resolved, the less stress for my members! I'm sorry for the length of this message, i'm just trying to provide all the detail i can.  I hope you can help. Thanks,Carol

more info: I usually get my mail using Outlook, but the messages are not there when I view them directly on Comcast.net either ....  I'm using Chrome for a browser and have VISTA for my OS Here's a message header from the most recent email sent to the group that I did not receive (i will xxx out the email addresses) at my Comcast address but DID receive at my Yahoo address:

  • Not receiving email alerts from my bank

I have my bank's online alert system set up to send me email when certain actions occur to my account.  These alerts stopped coming to me some time in January.  I thought it was a problem at their end because they had said that they were upgrading their system, but yesterday I added a Gmail address to the alerts and those are now coming through!
I have checked the spam folder on my computer (I usually use Forte Agent to receive mail via POP) and have disabled spam filtering at Verizon's end, but the email from the bank won't come to my @verizon.net addresses.  I would prefer not to use a Gmail address for this, as Google knows too much about me as it is, I don't need them sniffing the alerts I get from my bank!
As far as I know all other email is getting through to my @verizon.net addresses, but I guess I can't be sure of that!

    Telcoguru wrote:
The bank's IP address might be blacklisted on Verizon's network. Does the bank get back any replies saying that the email to you did not go through?
They haven't sent me any messages about their email being bounced, and I haven't called them to ask about it.  I assume that their alert system is automated and have not tried sending any questions to its address.  The bank's web site doesn't list any email contact addresses, just a phone number to call, and I really don't like calling customer service voice numbers and have someone make me go through all of the steps I've already tried!
Is there a page somewhere on the Verizon site listing the blacklisted ip addresses?

  • Not receiving email confirmation for account setup and digital purchase

I've been trying to get this website to send a confirmation to my email address in order to link my best buy account. It never sends any email and it's a standard hotmail account. I have been having a similar problem with email from PayPal.I am an Ebay and Etsy seller.  When I make a sale, I get one email from the auction site and another from PayPal.For the past month or so, MOST of the PayPal messages have not arrived in my Inbox.I'm SURE PayPal is sending the messages.  Your SPAM filters must be removing them.  They aren't making it into my Spam folder (which only receives 2-3 messages per MONTH).I can't believe that Comcast doesn't have a White List function to deal with this.

  • I am not receiving emails from a static IP address becasue icloud server thinks its spam when it isn't

I am not receiving emails only from on preson. they get a message bumped back to them indicating that there is a DHCP block from there static IP address. What I gather is the icloud server thinks these emails are spam coming from the IP address so it's blocking it. How do you unblock it becasue it's not spam?

the email provider is icloud.com email address. It has blocked a specific static IP address that is a customer I do regular business with. I get all other emails just fine. I event sent an email to myself from my work email which is from a static DHCP server and  it went through with no problems. It appears the icloud server has blocked a specific IP address because they think it's spam or something in a title of an email may have looked like it had illegal content. So I guess the email provider is Apple? Who do you contact? I know that they can change this by unmasking the IP address.

  • Not receiving email? Check your modem/router!!!

Hi all. My Logoc board fried last week and server/mail server was offline for that time. Everything worked up to that point. When I got the server back from the genious bar with a new logic board mail and web refused to work. I could send email and surf the web but could not receive email or visit my website from outside my subnet. After 3 three days of checking and tweaking everything from D.N.S> to mail settings, firewall settings I decided to check my Modem. It is a 2wire 2701HGB. What I saw astounded me. All the firewall settings That had allowed the incoming connections no longer had the public I.P. back to my server. It had deleted it, on its own. So if you have has a similar problem check your modem. It could save you a lot of grief. Everything works just like it used to now.
    Best,
    emackiii

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
If you aren't receiving the email to your rescue email account (and you've checked the spam folder on the account as well as the inbox, and tried clicking the reset link again) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

  • Iphone will not receive emails

I recently changed my password on both my yahoo account and itunes account.  i have an ipad and an iphone.   My ipad is receiving emails under my old password, and my iphone will not receive emails under the new or old password.  when I try to enter password for email under setting on iphone, it gives me the message that the yahoo server is unavailable.  again, my ipad has no problems receiving emails nor does my wife on her iphone.

I don't have any other email accounts on my phone and I don't get any type of error message.  It just says "Checking for Mail" and I receive nothing, so I know that it is accessing my work email system.  I haven't made any changes to my account.  I only accepted the message to update my carrier system.....I do have an appointment with the local Verizon store to see if they can help.
Just FYI, my Exchange email account still works on my iPad, so I'm pretty sure the settings are correct.

  • New ISP - not receiving email

I have a relative with an eMac running 10.3.9. She recently switched to a new ISP and is not receiving email in Mail. She has to use web mail to retrieve it. Sent mail goes out ok from Mail, web-surfing works. She revised the account information in the previous email account in Mail, typing in the new email address, password and server info. I believe the problem is that she should create a new email account in Mail and disable the old account (archive and delete). Any ideas to resolve the incoming email issue? I will try my idea tonight and report whether it works or not.

    Hi RarelyDan,
Welcome to the Apple Discussion forums!
You may wish to try the troubleshooting tips found in Apple's Mail Help:
"If you can't receive email, try the following:
    ▪ Send yourself a test email. The mail has to go out through your outgoing mail server and back into your incoming mail server. This is a good basic test of your account and server information.
    ▪ Make sure your computer can perform other Internet tasks, such as opening a webpage. If not, choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Network. Choose Network Status from the Show pop-up menu. A green dot indicates that you are connected to the Internet or a network. If you aren't connected, go to the Finder and choose Help > Mac Help, then search for "Connecting to the Internet."
    ▪ Choose Mail > Preferences and click Accounts. Verify your account name and password. Your account name will usually be either your email address ([email protected]) or the part of your email address to the left of the "@" (tclark3). If your Internet service provider (ISP) lets you access your email via a web browser, you may be able to verify your name and password there. If the same information does not work using a web browser or your ISP doesn't offer a web-based mail option, confirm your user name and password with your ISP or network administrator. Remember to type your email password, not your Mac OS X user account password or ISP password (if different).
    ▪ Find out if you can reach your incoming mail server from your computer. Open Network Utility, located in Applications/Utilities, and click Ping. Ping is a simple network testing tool that shows whether a server computer is running and can be reached from your computer. Type the mail server name (such as mail.mac.com) or IP address in the address field, and click Ping. If you see 10 repeating lines, then the server can be reached. If you see a message such as "ping: unknown host bogus.apple.com," then the server is either down or unreachable.
    ▪ Mail works with the following account types: POP, IMAP, .Mac, and Exchange (only if configured as an IMAP server). You can't log in directly to Hotmail, AOL, or any service that does not support POP or IMAP access, and retrieve email using Mail.
    ▪ If you have an IMAP account, it may be placed "offline" if Mail can't access it. Choose Mailbox > Online Status. If you see the choices Go Online or Take Account Online, connect to the Internet, and then choose Mailbox > Online Status > Go Online.
    ▪ Make sure there is no firewall software blocking email traffic. A firewall works by selectively blocking network traffic. Mac OS X has a built-in firewall, which you turn on and off using the Sharing pane of System Preferences. Open System Preferences and click Sharing, then click Firewall. Make sure your firewall is off.
    ▪ You may be affected by another firewall, either software installed separately from Mac OS X or built into an Internet sharing router, or administered by your ISP or network administrator. Contact the appropriate person to find out whether a firewall may be in place.
    ▪ If you have changed options (such as Use SSL or Authentication) in the Advanced pane of your email account preferences, check with your ISP or system administrator for the correct settings."
post back if still no luck or you have additional questions or comments,

  • Can not receive emails from third party email accounts

Recently I started working for a small business which has small business server 2011 and exchange 2010 installed. Before I started there were eight user accounts and they all have unlimited email access. I created a few users through sbs AD and also from
exchange console a week ago. Unfortunately none of them can not receive emails from third party accounts. they all can receive internal emails and also can send mails to any email accounts internally and externally.
This is a night mare for me as new users are having trouble with communicating via mails. I have tried all the methods and now thought of posting this issue on tech net. Please help me on this!!
    Thanks a lot!!
    Sammy

Checklist for testing inbound email problems, I am assuming outbound emails works ok.
    1. Check Port 25 forwarding on all modems routers/firewalls
    2. MX Record is created and pointing to the correct Public IP Address, use MXToolbox.com to verify MX Record and test SMTP flow. Also Verify your public IP has not changed, use whatsmyip.org to check you public IP
    3. If using POP Connector Service, make sure POP accounts are created properly
    4. If using a 3rd party spam host, make sure they forward email to correct public IP address, use step 2 to verify your public IP.
