Hello.
I have a new MACBOOK PRO and I love it BUT.....
I have been having one specific email bounce back into my inbox (recovered messages section) over 1,000x's a day.
I keep deleting the messages and emptying the trash to try to stop it but its not working!!!
I contacted the person who i sent the email too and told them what was happening. Their response was, "its not coming from this end, check with your web guy..." UGH!!!
I am now not receiving any new incoming messages and I have had to result in using my iphone to check my inbox, every day!!
How do I fix this problem? OR......Should I just make a Genius appointment?? LOL

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist.

If the email hasn't arrived after a few hours and isn't in a spam filter, you need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Go to settings
Messages
Send and receive
Check your phone number and uncheck the common Apple ID you share so your messages will not go to other devices.

Recently started not receiving texts from one person - AT&T user, also HTC One

I recently started not receiving texts from one person. He also has an HTC One (older model) but has AT&T as his provider. We were texting back and forth last Friday morning (11/8) and then he called me and ever since then I have not received a single text he has sent. He is receiving all of mine and we can receive phone calls back and forth, but his text messages are not coming through. We have both tried restarting our phones and I have also tried deleting him as a contact and recreating it however nothing works. I checked to make sure he was not blocked (which I knew wasn't the case since I could receive phone calls from him as well), and even tried turning the "block contact" on and back off. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Right now we are using work arounds with google-talk and facebook messenger but it's very frustrated for me to not receive any of the texts that his phone is saying I am receiving.
It had started sporadically over the past few weeks where I would miss a text from him every once in awhile, but now I am receiving nothing. He is the only one that I am having this issue with as I have texted back and forth with multiple others the past few days with no issues.

Hi! I'm also having the same problem. I have an iphone 5 & one person (who also has an iphone 5 but has AT&T as a provider). We had been able to send & receive phone calls & texts until mid-November. Now, we can both give & receive phone calls from each other and she receives my texts, however, I DON"T receive hers. In fact, if I'm in a group text message with her, I don't receive any of the texts that include her, even though I can give/receive texts individually from the others in the group message. The other two in the group message CAN receive both her texts & mine. This is so strange - I was left out of a whole thread of text messages & none of us knew it. They thought they were including me (nothing bounced back) & I didn't know I wasn't receiving them. Since her texting works with both of the others, I'm concluding the problem must be with my phone. Do I have an incorrect setting? I'm not sure what could have happened. PLEASE help!

Is there a current problem with Droid not receiving automated messages correctly from short 5 digits numbers for example my dentist office sends out reminders for my appointments and they are not sending correctly I have included an example below of what it looks like below. Is this something that can be fixed. Becasue I know that majority of ourpatients have Droids has it is a very popular phone and we are getting numerous complaints!

Well what's also weird is I'll send/receive other sms messages and there won't be any problems. But then, out of no where, my phone will get sms messages that are a few days old. I move around plenty in my area for work or other reasons so it's not like I stay in one location all the time. Also, I have Verizon and they have great coverage in my area anyway.

Troubleshooting notifications
Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection. If you are not receiving notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
Verify that the app supports notifications.
After installing an app or restoring a backup to a different iOS device, open the app at least once to begin receiving notifications.
If the app requires entering or logging in to an account, you will need to do this before receiving notifications.
Check Settings > Notifications to ensure that the app is configured for notifications.
If notifications do not appear only in the Notification Center, verify that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
If you are still unable to receive notifications and you are using a Wi-Fi connection, verify that the network or firewall is not blocking access to port 5223.

I know that this would concern me just the same and we want to make sure that your device is connected and receiving these notifications when available. How long have you been having this issue? Are you receiving a specific error message when sending a message? Are you aware if this happens in one location specifically or everywhere you go? Does the issue with messaging occur with all numbers? Share some details, so that we may assist.

Be patient. You don't get an immediately notification email. Record the Claim Number somewhere in case something goes wrong. It can take up to 72 hours. I got mine in about 54 hours.

Not receiving certain messages on iPad and Mac

I'm not sure how long this has been happening, but I recently discovered I'm not receiving some of the emails people are sending. It seems to happen only a small percentage of the time, but there's no rhyme nor reason to it. I'll receive most messages from, say, my husband or mom, but then they'll ask if I got a particular email and I haven't. I've looked in the spam and trash folders, nothing. This is happening on both my ipad and my mac. Tried looking for a solution and found nothing with no options to email Apple about it.
Ideas?

Verizon wiping out old phones would have nothing to do with it. The phone is no longer associated with the number, so wiping the phone would have no effect. It is your Apple ID which is the problem. You have iMessage turned on for your Apple ID. iPhones which have your Apple ID associated with your contact will send texts to your Apple ID, not your phone #. If you have another Apple device which can use iMessage, you could turn off iMessage in that device, but as long as your friends have your Apple ID associated with your contact and you have turned on iMessage in an Apple device and never turned it off before switching from an Apple device to another platform, you will have this problem.
You can bet that Apple will not address the problem, as they don't see it as a problem if someone is using a phone other than an iPhone. Apple expects no one will ever switch away from an iPhone once one has been used. Therefore, no problem for them to address.
The problem lies with Apple wanting their users to go through yet another proprietary interface, iMessage, which the MAJORITY of all smartphone users do not have access.

Not receiving texts from one number

As of Saturday, between the time of 4:00pm and 4:30, my phone decided to not receive texts from one number, which is an AT&T number. It was working before, and ever since then, it hasnt been able to receive texts from said number or send them to the number. I havent been able to get texts from the number either, and we both dont know why.
The thing is, I am getting texts perfectly fine from everyone else that I usually text.
I cant figure out if the number is blocked, because I am not the main owner of the family plan that I am on.

It's strange that you are having text imessaging issues with one contact. I use text messaging all the time and I am here to help! Do you have issues sending or receiving text messages to anyone else? Can you send and receive picture messages from this contact? Are you using a 3rd party messaging app? If so, please uninstall and trying using the stock messaging app. Which device are you using? Did you make sure the account owner didn't have this number blocked? Did the contact check with AT&T to see if your number is blocked? Please answer these questions so I can resolve this issue for you.

Contact your carrier... and have her contact hers. Assuming they are SMS/MMS messages, that is. SMS and MMS are carrier features. Note that MMS messaging requires a cellular data connection.

Wife Receives MSM Messages via Email

I'm sure there's a setting somewhere that needs to be changed, but I can't find it.
Sometimes when I send my wife a text message, she receives it on her phone. Other times, she does not receive the message on her phone, but instead receives an email with the text message includes.
We both have 3Gs, and this does not happen with my phone.

I noticed just yesterday that my wife's texts to me were coming to my email and not MMS app. the problem was when she selected me from the "to" box, she selected my email by accident. There is no way to see this once you hit send cuz it only shows the name. Try making a new conversation and be sure to check that you have selected the mobile # and not the email address. This might not be your problem but it ended up being mine.
