Sorry, no idea at this point with so few details to go on. It will probably help if you'll post what version of Mac OS X you're running and who your email provider is. Someone then may have some ideas.

Not receiving mail to .mac and other mail issue's
HI all
OK first up I cannot recieve any mail to my @mac.com address, when ever I try to send a test email to myself I recieve a bounced email back saying that 'Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently' I have read discussions on this matter and understand that I should be able to recieve email to this address as it is still in use for .mac users despite the iCloud change over but haven't been able to resolve this problem so far.
I also have a @me.com address which appears to recieve mail ok but would like to continue recieving mail to my @mac.com.
Secondly, I am only able to recieve mail to my @me.com address as when I try to send from this account I recieve a 'Cannot send message using the server iCloud' yet I am able to send mail from a different @me.com address that I created when iCloud was set out.
Both the @mac.com and @me.com addresses are original addresses from when thos services were first brought about but both have problems since the iCloud change over, @me.com addresses that I have created since the iCloud change over appear to work fine.
I let Lion set up all of my iCloud stuff through system preferences when it was rolled out and therefore has set up the mail preferences which are as follows :
In the address field I have both my @mac.com and @me.com seperated by a comma ([email protected], [email protected])
Incoming mail server is p02-imap-mail.me.com which I greyed out !?!
Under advanced is Port: 993, Use SSL: Checked, Authentication: Apple Token
Outgoing mail server: iCloud, however when I clicked on the edit SMTP server list iCloud SMTP is not in the list
Thankyou !Immediately contact Apple. Call a Genius and at least leave Apple some feedback. This should not be happening. It was indeed promised by Apple that all @mac.com addresses and aliases would remain functional if you had any of them before the switch to iCloud. They are still working for me, luckily.
Also, try changing the incoming and outgoing mail servers. Up until last week I was happily using POP with iCloud until – bam! – Apple decided to only support IMAP from then on. This change left me no option but to change to IMAP. My incoming server address is slightly different from yours. Maybe changing it to the new (?) address will solve your problem. At least it's worth a try, I'd say.
In my Mail.app Accounts preference pane, the IMAP server address is p99-imap.mail.me.com. I remember when setting up IMAP that the summary listed this same address as the incoming server. It doesn't show up in my SMTP server list either. So that should be normal behaviour, I guess.
Good luck! -

hello community, im new to macbook; i purchase this macbook at a yard sale everything seems to be working ok but i am unable to access the system preference in order to change the desktop or remove old accounts. the owner did not have the os disc. does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem.
thank youIf you don't have your install disks you can get the gray install disks by calling Apple StoreCustomer Service at 1-800-676-2775 They can send them to you for about $16 per disk plus S & H. Just give them your serial number and they'll know which ones you need. Which would be $32 for the two disks. With the original disks you also get the iLife that was current when your MacBook was bought included on the #2 disk.
You can order a Snow Leopard 10.6 install disk for $29 as long as you have at least 1gb of RAM and 5gb of free space on your hard drive. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY -
Not receiving mail for .mac mail account
SInce 3 months I'm not reveiving any mails from the .mac mail account. Either on the desktop mail or on the web based mail. Have installed the mail account many times. Doe's anyone knows more about the problem and what can i do.
PB G4 Mac OS X (10.4.6)Hi Eliot, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup -
Hi -
I would like to use iCloud drive on my iPhone and access all my files. I can do that very easily using Dropbox but I cannot find an app for iCloud Drive that works the same way. Am I overlooking something?????For individual Apps to access iCloud drive, the APP Developer must set that up. If it is not an option in a specific application that you use, you should submit feedback to the App Developer to add the feature.

My iPhone is not receiving mail but the following messages continue to flash over and over at the bottom of the screen: "Checking for messages, Updated just now, Checking for messages", etc. After a minute or so it will flash downloading 1 - 32 messages but nothing is received and then the "Checking for Messages," etc. starts back again. I turned the phone off for 30+ minutes and also tried to reset it, but the problem continues. Any ideas on how to solve the problem?
Double click the home button and swipe up the messages app to stop it, then open the app again. This pretty much completely stops the process and freshly opens it again, resolving problems at times. I have had this happen before as well on my iPad, I get a banner, check messages, and nothing new is there.
If that doesn't work, close the app like suggested above, but then restart the phone by holding down the home and lock button for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears. -
One account in .Mac mail will not receive mail?
I've tried sending to my other .Mac accounts and this is normal. My primary .Mac mail account will not receive mail. My E-Bay mail and other mail is not reaching this one primary account. Any suggestions?
867 Dual Mac OS X (10.4.3) My primary account is storing 1412 mail messagesThe .Mac servers for your area may be having problems this morning.
I'm using Mail 2.0.5 but checking the .mac server
directly takes mail out of the loop.
Not true. For a .Mac type account, it will mark a message as read only in the Mail.app when the mailbox is synchronized with the server after messages are checked and read at the server using webmail access and if changed to a POP type account in Mail, any message that is available at the server will be downloaded by the Mail.app even after messages are read using webmail access.
Is mail storage calculated separately?
It is now. You can adjust - lower or raise the amount of server storage space alloted for the account. -

What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -
It is not possible to send e-mail. The message in the screen is 'the connection with the outgoing server failed.
I checked al the options I received from my provider and everything is ok. Maybe inside of the Ipad the SSL is on.
I do not know how I can fix this problem.
I also do have the problem with my Iphone4.
Somebody knows how to fix it?
Thanks!Like you, I'm not receiving mail consistently, and additionally I can't quit Mail properly.
I'm not using Gmail (rather iCloud), but I'm getting similar issues: there's no indication in Mail that it's not working (no spinning wheels, nothing greyed out); I only know it's not receiving mail properly because my iPhone or iPad have lots of mail coming in.
Like you, I have to quit and relaunch, BUT I can't even quit from the Mail app - I select quit, and the window disappears, but the little bubble never disappears at the bottom of the screen. I have to Force Quit from the Activity Monitor. If I do that, and then reopen, it works fine - for a while (maybe a day or two?).
The two problems - not receiving mail, and not being able to quit - seem related: they always come together. If I'm receiving mail, I can also quit properly.
