Not receiving MMS

Im not receiving MMS. I was told there is a patch to download to fix the problem but I cannot find it on support services. Can anyone help me?

Phone options->advanced->highlight host routing table->hit the menu button->press "register now." (you'll get an e-mail confirming the registration. Then take out your battery while the phone is still on, let it reboot for a couple of minutes, put it back in, allow the phone to reboot.
See if that helps roxy

  • Why is my iPhone not receiving MMS from blackberry's?

I am able to receive picture messages from other iPhones but when a blackberry user tries, it never comes through. Is this a carrier issue or an issue with my iPhone?

I've been having the same problem! It's both sending and receiving though. I can send and receive pictures from iPhones right away. But when I send a picture to a blackberry, they receive it hours later ... always overnight (even if I sent it in the morning). Same with receiving a picture from a blackberry, I wake up and have received the picture they sent hours ago. Also, I have only had this problem since I updated my phone. I would say its the blackberry, but the blackberry owner I'm trying to send to hasn't had problems sending/receiving to other updated iphones.

  • Not receiving MMS on EV, but it works on WiFi

I have good signal and connected to an EV connection, but I get an error saying the message failed to download. When I connect via Wifi and I tell it to try again it works.

Well I restarted and it might be working now. I will return if it happens again. For now be good or be good at it!

Apparently, it's not the settings. Tech told me I need to just return the phone b/c they don't have a clue what's wrong with it. They've done everything they can on their end and nothing works. I posted about this earlier just before I spoke to advanced tech support and thought they'd fixed the issue, but it's not fixed.
If someone finds a fix for this, please post it. As of now, my plan is to return the phone to the store tomorrow.

UPDATE- A tech-savvy friend took a look at my phone this evening at work and couldn't fix the problem. He's a former tech support employee for another major wireless provider. He said his best guess is the problem is somewhere in the APN settings. It seems like LG's default settings are fighting (for lack of a better word) with Verizon's settings. He couldn't fix the problem and ended up suggesting I download the texting app "Textra" because it's one where the settings allow you to change the APN.
I was dubious because we've already tried changing the texting program to the two others that come on the phone and neither worked. But neither allow you to edit or add to the APN settings either.
I'm not sure how it is on anyone else's LG G3, but mine doesn't allow you to change the APN settings at all. On every single walk-through I've found for setting up MMS, I've followed it to the letter right up until it says, "Click the 'add' button in the upper right corner..." because that isn't an option on my phone. I imagine it's prob the same way for many others as well. I don't know if it's just on Verizon or if it's a product-wide problem.
My tech friend said the only way I can change the APN settings on my own (without speaking to Verizon's tech folks again) would be to "jail break" the phone first, which I really don't want to do.
I downloaded Textra and was surprised to find that it comes with a check-box for "MMS WiFi fix" under the setting "go here if MMS isn't working."  I clicked the appropriate boxes and sent myself a MMS using my husband's phone. I also asked a friend who has another provider to text me a test pic. Textra turned off WiFi, downloaded both pix, and then turned WiFi back on... exactly the way the phone's default settings should behave. It took a minute or so longer than a typical text but I'm okay with that so long as pix come through.
I've been fighting this issue for nearly 2 weeks now. I've spoken to 7 different people at Verizon as well as several friends who are extremely knowledgeable regarding cell phone OS (KitKat in particular), and this is the only thing that has actually worked. I'm going to give it 24 hours though before I say the problem is truly "fixed."
    Hope this works!! (crosses fingers)

  • Don't receive MMS from other carriers (such as Virgin Mobile USA)

My mother has a camera phone from Virgin Mobile USA and sometimes likes to send MMS pictures to me on my BlackBerry (MetroPCS). The problem is, I've never received any. I have also sent MMS to my Berry from my Virgin Mobile phone with the same results.
I do receive picture attachments in email on my Berry, which I suppose is a way around the problem, but am really curious as to why I would not receive MMS pictures.
I am able to send MMS from my BlackBerry such as to YouTube's email upload service.
I disabled the option to block MMS from anonymous numbers as well, so am at a loss.
    Thank you.

I cannot send MMS from an iphone 5 - some people it works others do not receive it.   MMS is turned on and i have tried to reset phone etc - still same problem.

    Are the messages successfully sent?
If so, what happens to a message after it is successfully sent has nothing to do with the cell phone that sent the message.

  • Why can i receive but not send mms?

i have the iphone 3g and have upgraded to 3.0
i can receive mms, but not send them. the bar goes to about 90% of the way, then i am left with a red blob, telling me it failed.
any idea why or what to do to resolve it?

    Who's your provider?
I had the same problem with Optus in Australia.
It turned out to be a problem with my profile at their end. I was set to be a prepaid customer, when really I have an account. They fixed it in a few seconds by recreating my profile.

Why Does the iPhone not send/receive MMS? this in the works?

Apple chose not to offer this as a feature of iphone. E-mail can accomplish the same thing.

  • Not always receiving MMS message notifications

I haven't received any MMS message notifications from my friends for approx. the last week, and they certainly have been sending them to me. I know this is definitely happening from Sprint and Verizon customers trying to send to me. I have had issues in the past where receiving from those networks would be flaky (meaning, sometimes I'd get them, sometimes I wouldn't). However, I receive ALL of their SMS, just not the MMS message notifications. Does anyone else have this problem?
    Thanks!

Okay, I found the problem. After being elevated to a Level 2 technician, it turns out that upon changing my text plan over to the "Family Text Plan" last week, that it prevents MMS from being sent to iPhone users of that family account. I switched back to the iPhone Text Plan, and now all is well and I can received MMS again.
I asked her how many iPhone customers are being affected by this "publicly unknown" issue, and she said, "Probably a LOT!". She did say that later this summer all that will change with the new iPhone 3.0 MMS ability becomes active. HAHA, all those people will finally start getting texts that didn't know/understand before.

  • Iphone5 MMS: older phones not receiving messages

Iphone5, iOS6.1.4, Verizon. Brand-new phone I bought a couple weeks ago. So its brand-new, mint condition, untouched.
I've been sending group messages, not realizing more than half of my friends/family were not receiving them.
1.My aunt lives on the other side of the country and has some kind of smartphone(not iphone) and she's been receiving them just fine.
2.My mother has a normal cellphone that is several years old AT&T, but she has only being receiving the subject line of the message. When she tries to "retrieve" the message, it always says "failed to retrieve". She has no problem getting text messages from everyone except me.
3.My brother has a different model of a normal phone and he is on the same AT&T plan with my mother and he is able to receive my group messages.
4.Some other friends with older phones and AT&T are not receiving the messages at all.
So it's been very hit 'n miss on who can receive these group messages.
I turned off iMessages first, then I finally turned off MMS Messages, and my mother was finally able to receive a group message from me.
She has always been able to receive an individual message from me with MMS and iMessages turned on. This is strictly a group message problem of some kind.
I was only sending her messages with text content, but the group messages always say MMS at the top regardless of what you send. I'm assuming turning off MMS forces group messages to use SMS.
Why is iphone not able to degrade gracefully with a group message? Why can't it detect older phones in a group message and say "hmm...maybe I should use SMS, especially since the iphone is sending a message with text-only content anyway."
It's really irritating that I have to either, remember to send INDIVIDUAL messages to every single person, OR keep MMS turned off just so older phones can receive a group message.
Has anyone else had these kinds of problems, and if so, what did you do?
Why does group messaging suck so bad on iphone? I group-messaged all the time on my normal cellphone and had no problems.
Even if iphone turned off MMS for a specific message-group automatically because ONE phone involved in the group was too old, that would be better than having to manually turn off MMS for the entire phone. Degrade gracefully, Iphone. It's a fact that older phones will be around for a long time still. My mother's generation still has 30-40 years left in them and they hate change.

Whether its the carrier or the phone model, why can't something detect that an MMS is the incorrect format?
Why send it as an MMS if one of the phones isn't going to be able to receive it? Why not use SMS automatically on the iphone when the messages are text-only content anyway? Don't force a group message to be MMS unless it contains content like pictures that make MMS necessary.
It reminds me of the time when I didn't have txtmsging at all and some friends did and they would send messages that I never received and they had no idea I didn't receive them. At least with email, you get a mailer-daemon shot at you.
I don't expect SMS to fire back a NDR to tell you that the receipient doesn't have txtmsging, but it would be nice if MMS would downgrade to SMS when needed. Or remain at SMS until MMS is absolutely necessary.
Why are group messages always magically MMS? The individual messages must either be automatically SMS or they are detecting what the phone on the other end can handle.

  • Xperia Z1 can not send/receive MMS after Lollipop update

Xperia Z1 can not send/receive MMS after Lollipop update, is anyone else having this issue. Any ideas on what I can do to restore MMS?

MMS need a data plan, there are certain carriers/networks that allow MMS to be sent w/o a data plan to their branded/locked phones, you will have to contact your carrier/network regarding this.
Is your phone braded or was it branded? did you flashed lollipop ?

  • Blackbery Bold does not send or receive MMS messages

When I receive an MMS it says Not Retrieved Yet and when I click "download now"  it says "receiving content" but it is not downloaded. I have reset the device by removing battery and SIM card. I confirmed with my provider that I have the ability to receive MMS. Everything is checked to receive MMS messages. I also cannot send an MMS. It attaches a pic but cannot send. I receive SMS texts.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should again contact your mobile service provider for formal support and potential formal escalation to BB for enhanced support.
    Good luck!

  • Note 3 MMS sent/received constant failure/3 days late

I have a Note 3 and since the 4.4.4 update, or somewhere around that time, my phone has been near unable to receive MMS.  Most times the MMS just sit in a permanent state of downloading or failed to download.  When I'm lucky the messages come in 20 minutes to 3 days late.  From what I can tell online my APN settings are just messed up from the last update, but the APN settings are locked and I can't change them to fix it (unlike every other carrier).  I have done a factory reset, pulled the battery, and pulled the battery and SIM card for 15 minutes.

I am able to send and receive there is just a delay of minutes, hours, or days.  From what I can tell from other people my sending messages are working OK.  I see sent when I send out an MMS.  I've verified that they receive the message.
The problem is me receiving the MMS messages.  From what I can tell if the queue of messages is nothing then I get messages with 5 minute delay.  If I have a slew of messages coming in (I.E. group message where people are replying to each other) then it can take hours to days depending on the amount.  I can tell how many messages are trying to download because the default messenger (and Google Messenger) show in the SMS for that person when they've sent a message that is trying to download.  Sometimes when I check I can see it trying to download 10+ messages for multiple people.

  • Iphone5 MMS: older phones not receiving group messages

This discussion was started here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5178260
Iphone5, iOS6.1.4, Verizon. Brand-new phone I bought a couple weeks ago. So its brand-new, mint condition, untouched.
My phone number was ported from AT&T to Verizon. No problems as far as I can tell.
I've been sending group messages, not realizing more than half of my friends/family were not receiving them.
1.My aunt lives on the other side of the country and has some kind of smartphone(not iphone) and she's been receiving them just fine.

It's really irritating that I have to either, remember to send INDIVIDUAL messages to every single person, OR keep MMS turned off just so older phones can receive a group message.
Has anyone else had these kinds of problems, and if so, what did you do?
I feel like the problem is on my end(Verizon) rather than my friends' end since so many of them are not receiving MY messages. They are receiving everyone else's messages.
    Facts:
    1. INDIVIDUAL messages work. (MMS is turned on.)
    2. SMS-ONLY GROUP messages work. (MMS is turned off so SMS is forced.)
    3. MMS group messages, even with text-only content, are not being received by some people, others are receiving them just fine.

iMessages is not the problem. None of my friends have an iphone so I haven't been using iMessages at all.
The problem is SMS vs MMS on group messages. For some reason, the default for group messages is MMS, even though the contents I send are only text. My mother and some of my other friends cannot receive MMS messages, but they can receive SMS messages. (I don't know if its because their phones are too old or because of their specific txtmsg plan with their provider.)
So she automatically doesn't receive messages when I send them as a group instead of individually because they always send as MMS simply because they are GROUP and not because of the contents of the message.
Why do group messages always send as MMS instead of SMS?
I turned MMS OFF, in order to force group messages to always use SMS, but then the MMS setting turns itself back ON the instant I send an individual MMS to a friend who can receive those types of messages. Once MMS setting is back on, I don't realize it and send out a GROUP message, which doesn't reach everyone because once again MMS is being used instead of SMS.
If group messages would send as SMS when I am only sending text, then there would be NO problem. It shouldn't use MMS unless I'm sending a picture or something.
