Why doesn't my phone number appear as an option on my iMessage
Log out of messages on both ipad and iphone.
Log in on iphone, wait a few minutes, then log in on ipad.
Settings>Messages>Send&Receive

When I turned on my ipad mini I selected to not sync to my iphone. I now can't get imessage from my phone to my ipad. How can I go back and fix this?

My partner received an iMessage which states it is from me which I never sent. We are sitting watching tv and I was not even on phone when it was sent. I have searched my phone for the message in another app like what's app or viber but it's not a copy and I therefore am at a loss to understand it. Is it possible someone has access to my phone somehow?
Many thanksIf was an iMessage, and wasn't sent from your phone, it could have been sent from another iOS device you own (i.e. iPad) or from someone else's device if they hacked into your iCloud account.
Another possiblity is that your partner has another Contact entry with a different phone number associated with your name
Go to the message received > Contact (upper right) > Info (circled i) > the source ID will be highlighed in blue.
If there is any doubt, change your iCloud password. -
I want to send iMessages from my phone on my iPad
My iCloud is the same on my phone and my iPad, but when I click on send and receive it only shows my two email and I don't have a choice to click on my phone number. How do I add my phone to the list of my email addresses?
You will probably need to link the phone number with your Apple ID if the number is not appearing in the settings for Messages as a contact at choice. Most of the time, this means that you will have to turn off /sign out of messages on the phone and the iPad and then sign in again on the phone first. This explains it all in detail.

Hello I send imessages to a phone number I receive delivery notice but sms does not show on receiving phone. Otherwise when receive imessage from other phone I reply and receiver sees SMS !!! Any explanation ?
To my knowledge, I've only seen this for imessage only and not SMS.
The other users would need to have send read receipts enabled on their phone. -

You can select another email to use on iPod or iPad.

Messages
Send and receive
Check your phone number and uncheck the common Apple ID you share so your messages will not go to other devices. -
All of a sudden this morning my iphone will not send imessages from my phone....

Hmm, that is strange that your phone number is greyed out. There are a few things that we can try. First would be to turn iMessages off, then back on. See if you are able to select your phone number. Then if that doesn't work, turn iMessages back off, then reset the network settings....settings>general>reset>reset network settings, this will reboot the phone. Don't worry, it won't delete anything from the phone, it simulates a battery pull. Once the device comes back on, then turn iMessages back on. Keep us posted if that works!

I believe I have implemented it correctly but I am not receiving the notifications on my phone. I have an ad hoc provisioning profile set up. I have the device token from the phone through NSLOG to console. I have the dot net code running without errors.The notifications just don’t appear.
Any ideas where I am going wrong?IMAP account access by itself does not provide for syncing contacts, calendar events, and notes or anything over the air. This is possible with an Exchange account accessed via ActiveSync with the Exchange Server.
If your company email account is an Exchange Account, your company's IT Dept. has enabled IMAP account access for your Exchange account on the Exchange server?
If an Exchange account, the IT Dept. must have ActiveSync enabled for your account on the Exchange Server to create and access the account as an Exchange account which provides Push access for received messages, and over the air syncing for contacts and calendar events with the Exchange Server. -
I am facing problem in using viber...can not receive any call from Viber whn keypad is locked and whn i unlock phone thn on opening viber i can see the missed call notification... kindly guide me there is any setting so0 tht i can receive viber calls whn my phone is locked even as i can receive calls on HTC

My new IPhone 6 will not receive a call from my wife's phone
I have a new IPhone 6. It will receive and ring all calls except from my wife's IPhone 5?
Her number is not blocked.
Any help?Can your wife make phone calls to others? If her number is not blocked on your device, there is no reason you should not receive a call from her, unless she cannot make calls to others. A block would be the only reason you should not receive a call. Check with your carrier to make sure there is no restriction on their end.

IMessage not letting me send from my phone number, on email?
My phone alerted me today that it can't send iMessages from my phone number anymore and can only send my emails. I tried to go back and re-select my number but it's shaded grey (it is not letting me select it). I'm not really sure what to do at this point
Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
From the Messages menu bar, select

Help removing imessage from a phone number no longer being used by an iphone
Hi everyone. Hoping for some help with a bizarre issue. I switched from an iphone 3gs to an android a few months ago, but when some (not all) friends w/ iphone's text me, it tries to send it as an imessage from their phones. I don't receive the texts for hours at a time. Is there something I can do to prevent this? Or is on their end? This has even happened with people who I have exchanged numbers with well after I made the switch from iphone to android which I find particularly weird.
If you still have your 3GS put your SIM back in it and turn off iMessage. If you don't have it but you did register it with Apple, do this:
Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
Log in if not already logged in
Click on "edit products"
Click on the "x" to the right of the product
Click "unregister"
This deactivates number with iMessage. -

Verizon wiping out old phones would have nothing to do with it. The phone is no longer associated with the number, so wiping the phone would have no effect. It is your Apple ID which is the problem. You have iMessage turned on for your Apple ID. iPhones which have your Apple ID associated with your contact will send texts to your Apple ID, not your phone #. If you have another Apple device which can use iMessage, you could turn off iMessage in that device, but as long as your friends have your Apple ID associated with your contact and you have turned on iMessage in an Apple device and never turned it off before switching from an Apple device to another platform, you will have this problem.
You can bet that Apple will not address the problem, as they don't see it as a problem if someone is using a phone other than an iPhone. Apple expects no one will ever switch away from an iPhone once one has been used. Therefore, no problem for them to address.
The problem lies with Apple wanting their users to go through yet another proprietary interface, iMessage, which the MAJORITY of all smartphone users do not have access. -
LG Revolution not receiving text messages from iphone user
I am not receiving text messages from iphone user, sporatically. The messages are showing as reveived on Verizon website in usage detail, but not being received on my phone.
This issue needs fixed asap! I have a few suggestions that should help you get this resolved. If they are showing up in the usage details, that means they are hitting the Verizon network, but for some reason they are not showing up on the phone. I recommend clearing the cache from your messaging/text messaging programs. Go to settings> applications> manage apps> all> Messaging/Text Messaging> Force Stop/Clear Cache/Clear Data. Erase the old text threads that you have saved and retry.
If that doesn't work, please let us know the following:
1) Do they come in delayed or not at all?
2) Do you have any 3rd party messaging apps installed?
3) Do they have any problems receiving messages from you?
4) When they're sending messages, are they directly to you, or do you have this problem when the iPhone user sends to a group of people?
