Not receiving new yahoo mails.

Hi,
For some reason my ipod touch has decided, well actually Yahoo has, that it cannot receive any new mails from after the 8th of August. Both my inbox and my bulk folder won't see past that date but my trash will. Anyone have an idea of how to fix? Yahoo have ignored the three emails I have sent them and the person on the yahoo chat site basically told me I should switch to gmail (great customer care there yahoo!).
I've tried all the obvious stuff, deleting re-setting up the account, restore etc but no luck
thanks

  • My iPad is not receiving new Yahoo! Emails since yesterday

my iPad is not receiving emails from my Yahoo! Account since Wednesday.

Yahoo is always messing with their servers, and when they mess with the one your account is on you'll have issues
You can try to delete and then re-add your account info in your iPad (settings, mail, contacts and calendars, delete it, exit out, go back in and re-enter it)
If that doesn't fix it you may need to just wait it out.. If yahoo is doing it it's up to them to fix it (there have been several people with this issue)
If it doesn't fix itself you may need to look for workarounds, such as using the yahoo app or accessing your mail via safari until it resolves.

  • "Sent Messages" folder not receiving new sent mails after a server change

My provider just moved my account to another server. The IMAP accounts needed to be re-established on my wife's PC in her program. So we know the files are all there on the new server.
Funny thing is that it's not working on Mail on my iBook. And when these changes took place, my sidebar contents in Mail changed on me. I have sent some mail to various places since this happened, but none of these new mails have copies which are saved in my "Sent Items" or "Sent Messages" folders. So I have no record now of anything new since the change happened. I DO have copies of mail in there that are pre-change.
I checked my preferences for mailbox behaviors, and the "Store Sent Items on the Server" is checked, so I'm not sure what's up.
For the record I'm running OS X 10.4.7 and Mail 2.1.
I have deleted and re-established my two email accounts in Mail in order to make them re-establish new links with the server, so I'm seeing my folders, but no new mail sent is showing up in my Sent Messages folder.
I would appreciate if anyone knows if there could be an issue with Mail, my new host's servers, or what. It looks like a Mail issue to me, since my wife's PC is reading everything fine (and she is running Thunderbird as her client).
    Thanks!

    You're welcome.
I don't think it's your fault. Different IMAP servers use different naming conventions, and the Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For command is meant to let you tell Mail which folder should be used for what purpose, but you shouldn't have to use it just to prevent your mail from being lost. At the very least, Mail should be able to use its own default Sent Messages folder without you having to do anything. I don't know why Mail fails to do this properly so often.
Worse yet, not only does Mail sometimes fail to use the Sent Messages folder that's already there, but it doesn't even warn you that it's failing to save your sent messages as you've told it to.

  • "Open link in new tab" not working with Safari and new Yahoo Mail won't open in new tabs.  Yahoo says it is a Safari issue.  I don't think so.

    Any ideas?
Works fine in classic Yahoo mail.  But in the "new" Yahoo mail, there is not even an option to open in new tab when I right click the message to be opened.  Interestingly enough, I can right click open to new tab on any other link on the same page that the emails are listed in.
Anyone encounter this?  Have a solution?
    Thanks.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.
If that didn't help, try troubleshooting the Safari .plist file.
    Quit Safari.
Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder in the Sidebar on the left. It has a small house icon. Then open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop. Relaunch Safari. Try Yahoo / tabs. If it functions as it should, move the .plist file to the Trash. Otherwise move it back to the Preferences folder.
And check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. If you have any installed, turn that off, quit then relaunch Safari. Try again.

  • Safari will ( now) not let me upgarde the New Yahoo mail

    Hello all,
I recently upgrated to the new yahoo mail. I was having trouble with spell check and reading my old threads. So I researched online on how to  revert back to Yahoo basic by disabling the Java Script. This worked  somewhat but now I can't attach files our change my Font size. Please help I have been using Yahoo for 13 years and all my contacts and history is there. Anythought on how to get back to the New imperfect Yahoo I could at least attach files my business depends on that.
    Thanks in advance.

    Try this ...
From the Mail menu bar (top of your screen) click File > Import Mailboxes but unfortunately, I don't think it wil work with Yahoo folders.
On your hard drive? Yes...  left side of the Mail window you'll see MAILBOXES. You should see:  On My Mac
If necessary, you can still access your Yahoo mail from Safari.
    You're welcome.

  • Default Mail app not working with yahoo mail. Won't update.

Default Maill app not working with Yahoo Mail.
It stopped working the other day. I tried everything but it wouldn't update new mail. The yahoo account itself is fine because I can see new mail on Yahoo or a yahoo app.
I tried deleting the account and putting it back on, but now it has 0 mail in any part of it. Nothing has synced.
    What do I do?
    iPad 2 latest OS.

A lot of people have been unable to access Yahoo e-mail on their iPhones or iPads. My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.
    https://portal.smartertools.com/kb/a2659/configure-imap-for-iphone-or-ipad.aspx
    https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mobile-mail/imap-server-settings-sln4075.html
    On the iPhone, tap Settings.
    Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap your Yahoo account, then delete it.
    Tap Add Account.
    Tap Other.
    Tap Add Mail Account.
Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description fields.
    Click Next.
    Ensure IMAP is selected.
Enter the following incoming mail server information:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
    Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 993
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Hostname is mail.yahoo.com.
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail.
Enter the following outgoing mail server information:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires SSL
    Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 465 or 587
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Requires authentication: Yes
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail. It may have been entered for you.
    Tap Next.
The iPhone will establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers.
    That’s all!

  • New yahoo mail no response when compose email or reply to sender is selected EI9 browser works ok , is there a setting in Firefox? thanks.

When I upgraded to the new yahoo mail I found I was unable to compose new emails or reply to senders. When I select these functions nothing happens. Internet explorer 9 works fine.
I have McAfee Security Center firewall etc.
I have not noticed any other problems with the Firefox browser.
I contacted yahoo mail support and they tell my email account
functions OK for them. Is there a setting that needs to be tweaked to allow Firefox to work correctly?
    Thanks...

  • New Yahoo mail won't work on New Lion MacBook Pro (?)

I get a message from Yahoo telling me that by browser isn't compataible with new Yahoo mail - both in Firefox and Safari browers.
It was working fine yesterday, but not today.
I am therefore being forced to use the old Yahoo mail.

User Library is hidden by default.
    use the option key
    Finder>Go (option key)>Library.
However your Adobe reader is in Applications.
    Do a Spotlight search>  command-spacebar

  • Why don't I see the 'Emoticons' and 'Format' tabs when composing a message in the new Yahoo Mail, using Firefox, but I do when using Internet Explorer?

I have been using the new Yahoo Mail on Firefox. But today I noticed that when I write an email (Compose/Reply/Forward), I cannot format it. Only the 'Attachments' tab is present, but the 'Emoticons' and 'Format' tabs are not.
But when I do it using Internet Explorer, all those tabs are present and I can format and do whatever.
Is there something wrong with my Firefox? I have restarted my computer, I have shut it down, but my Yahoo Mail remains problematic when using Firefox.

Firefox only allows you to save executable files. If you want to add an option to run them you can use the OpenDownload² add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/opendownload-10902

  • New Yahoo Mail- annoying ad on top line

    Hi ,
Been converted today to new Yahoo mail .
Firstly Im confused as I thought BT were ditching Yahoo and putting us all on their own service , is that right ?
Secondly there seems to be two versions , the full blown one seems to have an annoying ad banner at the top of my in box and I dont want it , can anyone advise how to remove it please ?
    Thanksi
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

That's not a very helpful answer to anyone like me who deliberately uses webmail (i.e. what is now called "cloud"!) by choice and for valid reasons and has done for ever-ish!
BT need to understand that a dark background with light text was proven donkeys' years ago to be less readable and more stressful for eyes and brains.
I also object in the strongest terms to being force fed adverts offensive to me, my values, my beliefs and completely not associated with any browser/internet usage I make.
The functionality has also been destroyed, unless they've forgotten to tell us.
What was broken that needed such a hideous fix?

  • Not receiving certain e-mails but can receive these e-mails on PC with Windows Mail

Not receiving certain e-mails on iPad but can receive these  e-mails on a P C with Windows Mail

Right-Click (or Ctrl-Click) on any mailbox and choose Get Info (you can also invoke this window by typing Command-I). Now, in the Account menu, choose the account that isn't working properly. Does Mail display all your messages there, even those that it fails to download?
If the answer is yes, don't close the Get Info window yet. I'm going to propose a solution that will cause all your mail still on the server to be re-downloaded again as if it was all new, no matter how old it is or whether Mail had already downloaded it. Hence, before proceeding, you may want to delete any messages still on the server that you don't want to be downloaded again. You can accomplish this in the Get Info window by selecting the messages you want to permanently delete from the server and clicking the Remove From Server button at the bottom right of the Get Info window.
    Now, follow these steps:
    1. Quit Mail.
    2. In the Finder, open the HOME/Library/Mail/POP-<account-name>/ folder.
    3. Move any files in that folder whose name starts with MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded to the Trash.
These files keep track of which messages have already been downloaded, so that Mail does not download them again every time it connects to the server. Moving them out of the account folder causes Mail to forget that information and start downloading from scratch all over again.
For some reason, the information in these files can become inaccurate at some point for people with Comcast accounts. I'm not sure it is a file corruption problem. When these files are the problem, Comcast seems to always be involved. I wonder why your wife has not experienced the same problem, though. Maybe she just hasn't yet or maybe Eudora keeps track of downloaded messages using a different technique...

  • Why do I not receive iCloud e-mails when there is a specific group of "To:" addresses in the body of an e-mail

I noticed this when I started my iCloud e-mail account a few months ago. I am not receiving iCloud e-mails when there is a specific group of "To:" addresses in the body of an e-mail. I can receive the e-mail on my outlook & local cable providor e-mail accounts with all of the addresses listed. If I strip out the "To:" addresses and send it from my local cable providor e-mail account to my iCloud e-mail account than I will receive the e-mail in my iCloud account (minus all of the "To:" addresses that are in the body of the e-mail. This has caused me to miss a lot of e-mails.
Following is one of the e-mail that I can send from my cable providor account and not receive it in iCloud. If I strip out all of the "To:" addresses I will receive it in iCloud. I have a case open with Apple but it is not going anywhere. This occurs from multiple sending internet service providors (ISP's) so I think it's an Apple iCloud e-mail processing issue.

I've been having a very similar problem to what ziemsen describes, for about a week now. The Mail app has stopped delivering new messages to the Inbox, even though I can view the newly incoming messages on the server via Webmail. I am able to send email through Mail with this email account, and as for the other email accounts that I have on Mail (which are also hosted by the same server), I am able to both receive and send email with no problem.
None of the mail settings have been changed, so how this happened all of a sudden is very puzzling. I have checked Account Info on the problem account - Mail recognizes that there are messages that are on the server yet to be downloaded, but it won't download them.
I've checked what other users have suggested here in the Discussions Forum, and tried: 1) deleting the problem Mail account from Mail and re-adding it; 2) creating a new machine User account and setting up Mail with that User; 3) setting up Mail on another machine; 4) archiving and re-installing OS, and even 5) wiping the HD entirely and reinstalling the OS. None of these have worked.
Ernie, your suggestion of deleting the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded file sounded like the solution to the problem, so I just tried it - but to no avail. Mail delivers messages that are on the server to my Inbox up until the same point that it always stops at, and there are almost 1000 new messages since then.
I am pretty lost at this point - I have no idea what else I can possibly do to resolve this problem. The strange thing is, when I tested my email accounts on Microsoft Entourage and Mozilla Thunderbird, they don't have this problem - both deliver all of my incoming mail. I may have no choice but to switch to one or the other at this point, but I'm attached to Mail and would really like to continue using it if I can. Any advice would be much much appreciated.
    very best,
    biteringo
