Not receiving reset email

Hi,
I am attempting to log into my account but it requires me to put in my security questions as it is a new device. I do not even slightly remember my answers. I hit "Send reset info to rescue email" and nothing arrives. I've checked my Junk mail, and the email is verified. However, the email never arrives. I really need this because I JUST deposited $15 onto that account so I don't want that to go to waste.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

    Hoping you can help with this.
    After using my current Apple ID (new email address) for about a year for app store and iTunes, find my friends, iPhone (etc) and being able to log into iCloud, my new (this year) MBP has somehow reverted to my old ID (old email address, still same account). I just upgraded to Lion and now iCal tells me it can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with Apple ID, which is my old email address.
    I want to be able to log in under my old Apple ID to change it over to my current Apple ID, or somehow unlink from my old Apple ID.
    I can't remember the password because it's been ages since I've used it. I have tried to reset but I haven't received the reset emails in the last 2 days. I have checked spam and trash in all email addresses in case it is a different address to the one I thought. I have also checked that I don't have any filters that could delete the email.
    I tried the secret questions but I can't get past the birthdate page - says my info is incorrect! I have followed the links from the general support area and checked iCloud system status and everything is normal. I have noticed a lot of people have this problem but that it appears unresolved or they haven't written back on how it has been resolved.
    This problem seems too common to warrant a phone call or visit to an Apple store (there is no Apple store in my town either). Anyone have any ideas? I promise I'll respond when/if it resolves! By the way, I'm in Australia.

    I linked through and submitted my info as a "topic not covered" in the iCloud section. After entering the serial number of my MBP it turns out I wasn't eligible for technical support (though I don't think this is hardware related support) and the final suggestion was to take my computer into an Apple store. I called my local Apple reseller and asked for assistance. The customer service rep was very nice but unable to help, so suggested I call Apple Support on 1300 321 456. I did so and, again, spoke to two very polite and helpful customer service people (I was transferred to security services). I didn't have to be on hold to speak to either rep for more than a few seconds! After trying a few different things, he worked out what was happening...
    So, to cut a long story short, to solve the problem in my OP, all I had to do was log out of iCloud in my System Preferences and log back in using my current Apple ID. [Edited to add that I had to sign out of everything I was currently signed in to with my Apple ID before logging out and in again.]

  • Correct password not accepted, requested password reset but not receiving reset emails

    I am signed into the OLD Firefox sync with my correct password and username. I want to update to the new sync because I've got a new PC that i need to sync to and the old syn won't accept adding new units anymore. However, when I try to log in to update Firefox, it tells me that my password is wrong, which I know it isn't. I read that passwords set before 2012 may not be accepted, so I asked to have my password reset and Mozilla is supposed to send me a reset email. I've asked for the reset email multiple times, but they're never sent one (not in spam folder, I checked). Other have had this same problem, how can it be resolved? No way to email Mozilla support for help (grrr)

    You've checked the spam folder as well as the inbox on your account, and if you have a rescue email address then you've checked that email account as well ?
    If you still can't find it then contact iTunes Support, they should be able to re-enable your account : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
    For your birthdate, you can then check and/or update it by logging into the account via the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com and selecting the 'Password & Security' section on your account - answer the security questions, and on the next screen you should be able to view/change it.

    I initially created my apple account years ago. I am trying to reset my security questions because my answers are continually incorrect. I pressed the link that sends reset security questions info to my alt. address, but I have not received the email with instructions. I've even deleted my alt email from the apple account and then reassigned it and tried again, however, I still have not received the email.     Go to the Apple ID Security site from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 or call the AppleCare support number from http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 and ask to speak with the Account Security Team...either can help you reset your questions/answers.

    That's probably because it's been sent out to a Bcc'd mailing list and that's the name on the main version. This is so that you don't see the other names.
    If it doesn't come from something @apple.com then it's spam. Even if it appears to it's probably spam. If you want to change your password go directly to http://appleid.apple.com - do not follow any links in the email (even if they appear to lead to that address.)

    We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, we won't know why. You've checked the spam folder on your rescue email account as well as the inbox ? If it's not there either then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

    They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

    Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like you did not receive the reset email. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

    Are you able to receive any mail at all? If not, make sure that all of your information for mail is accurate in settings again. if you still have nothing, go to your email through safari. (example: www.yahoo.com) If you do not see the emails here either, it is a problem with the password reset server not your mail app.
