Not receiving texts from US Cellular phone

Starting yesterday 12/2, I stopped receiving texts from my husband's US Cellular phone. I got two random texts from him, but not the others he sent. I also sent him multiple texts and he never received any of them. Today, I received three texts from him this morning, but he sent more than that and he hasn't received any of the ones I sent him. I tried turning off my phone and leaving it off for awhile. I also did the second ios7 update on my iPhone 4. He believes it's an issue with my phone because he's receiving texts from other people through multiple carriers. Any suggestions?
Also, I'm not receiving any error messages or anything out of the ordinary. All texts appear to go through and have the times sent next to them.

Not receiving texts from US Cellular friends only

I am not receiving texts from US Cellular subscribers only. I have been told by my nice customer service people at Verizon that it is probably a US Cellular issue. This just isn't sitting well with me. I do seem to be receiving texts from other carriers (Boost, Verizon, AT&T). My iphone 4S is updated as far as I can tell. I've only had a couple of weeks and I have yet to receive any of the messages US cellular people have sent (so it's not like they are delayed, etc. I just do not receive them). I am very frustrated and do not want a different phone. The reason I changed to Verizon FROM US Cellular was for the iphone 4S. Feeling very disappointed and frustrated. Love all the other features of this phone, but as a phone (which is the purpose of the thing) it has been sub standard. Anyone else having problems receiving text messages?
I have tried : turning imessage off. rebooting phone. updating network etc (options 1 & 2). I can send messages to these same people and they receive them. They can call me, but when they send me texts they never reach me.

Not receiving texts from a Sprint phone

This has been happening for a little while now, but whenever I text my friend who has a sprint phone I'll randomly stop receiving their text messages. They receive all of my messages, but they'll answer me back I won't get it. I've tried resetting my phone but that hasn't solved anything. Is there any other way I can fix this or should I just bring it back to a Verizon store?

I definitely understand how important it is to receive all of your text messages. I would like to ask a few questions to begin assisting you. Do you notice that you are experiencing this with any other person? If so, what carrier are they with? Does your Sprint friend state that other people mention this is happening as well or just with you? If the scenario has not come up is there a way for you to test messages with other people to draw any trends? What we are looking for is a common denominator to address the root cause. As you answer these questions if it root cause points to your phone only then we can proceed with troubleshooting your device. If it points to your friend's phone please advise him/her to contact their carrier for further troubleshooting. Please let me know if you need additional assistance. Thank you.

Not receiving texts from a Galaxy 4 mini on US Cellular provider network, but I get all other texts.

I am not receiving texts from a friend who owns a Galaxy 4 mini on US Cellular provider network, but I receive all other texts from other phones and other providers. She has never owned any Apple products, including an Apple iPhone. Other people she texts with receive her texts fine.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

That is definitely an unusual situation. I'm sure it's frustrating that it isn't working when you need it. Do either of you have trouble with texting anyone else? Try turning off Wi-Fi on both devices, and see if the problem persists or continues when using only the mobile network. Please keep us updated with this situation so we can help to resolve!

Recently started not receiving texts from one person - AT&T user, also HTC One

I recently started not receiving texts from one person. He also has an HTC One (older model) but has AT&T as his provider. We were texting back and forth last Friday morning (11/8) and then he called me and ever since then I have not received a single text he has sent. He is receiving all of mine and we can receive phone calls back and forth, but his text messages are not coming through. We have both tried restarting our phones and I have also tried deleting him as a contact and recreating it however nothing works. I checked to make sure he was not blocked (which I knew wasn't the case since I could receive phone calls from him as well), and even tried turning the "block contact" on and back off. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Right now we are using work arounds with google-talk and facebook messenger but it's very frustrated for me to not receive any of the texts that his phone is saying I am receiving.
It had started sporadically over the past few weeks where I would miss a text from him every once in awhile, but now I am receiving nothing. He is the only one that I am having this issue with as I have texted back and forth with multiple others the past few days with no issues.

Hi! I'm also having the same problem. I have an iphone 5 & one person (who also has an iphone 5 but has AT&T as a provider). We had been able to send & receive phone calls & texts until mid-November. Now, we can both give & receive phone calls from each other and she receives my texts, however, I DON"T receive hers. In fact, if I'm in a group text message with her, I don't receive any of the texts that include her, even though I can give/receive texts individually from the others in the group message. The other two in the group message CAN receive both her texts & mine. This is so strange - I was left out of a whole thread of text messages & none of us knew it. They thought they were including me (nothing bounced back) & I didn't know I wasn't receiving them. Since her texting works with both of the others, I'm concluding the problem must be with my phone. Do I have an incorrect setting? I'm not sure what could have happened. PLEASE help!

Switched from iphone to galaxy - now not receiving texts from iphone users

Switched from iphone to galaxy for multiple reasons. Still keeping my iPad and wanted to use my iphone for music. Now I am not receiving texts, apparently imessages, from iphone users - there is no notification either way that a message was not received. So iphone users think I have received a text when I haven't. This makes me angry with Apple as there have been medical issues in our family and I have not been receiving important communication. I also have clients I have not received texts from. My understanding is I will have to delete my iphone from my apple account completely, but then will not be able to use it at all for itunes or anything else.

If you still have the iPhone, go to Settings and turn off iMessage. If you don't have the phone or if that doesn't solve the problem, contact Apple Support and request that they deactivate iMessage. https://www.apple.com/support/appleid/contact/

It appears you have moved from an iPhone to an android phone. The problem you are having is because you did not deactivate your iMessage service before leaving.
If you still have your iPhone, you can re-activate it and then
turn on iMessage in the settings
uncheck your email and phone number
turn off iMessage
Settings>Messages
If you don't have your phone or don't want to go thru the hassle of reactivating it, you can simply call Apple at 800-694-7466 and ask them to turn off your iMessage.

Not receiving texts from one number

As of Saturday, between the time of 4:00pm and 4:30, my phone decided to not receive texts from one number, which is an AT&T number. It was working before, and ever since then, it hasnt been able to receive texts from said number or send them to the number. I havent been able to get texts from the number either, and we both dont know why.
The thing is, I am getting texts perfectly fine from everyone else that I usually text.
I cant figure out if the number is blocked, because I am not the main owner of the family plan that I am on.

It's strange that you are having text imessaging issues with one contact. I use text messaging all the time and I am here to help! Do you have issues sending or receiving text messages to anyone else? Can you send and receive picture messages from this contact? Are you using a 3rd party messaging app? If so, please uninstall and trying using the stock messaging app. Which device are you using? Did you make sure the account owner didn't have this number blocked? Did the contact check with AT&T to see if your number is blocked? Please answer these questions so I can resolve this issue for you.

I just got a droid MAXX and I'm not receiving texts from iPhones.

ok so i just switched from an iphone after having 2 for 4 years and i got a motorola droid maxx 2 days ago. i am not receiving texts from iphone users and i dont know why. i gave verizon my phone and so i cant turn off imessage but i cleared the phone before i gave it to them. i have also changed my apple i.d. and i have deactivated all my products such as my mac book pro and my two previous iphones. this is exactly why i switched because apple has to be a CULT and make everything so complicated. please help me solve apples stupidity.

That was a asinine and catty response. I and many others have the same problem. turning off imessage is not an effective solution. I have turned off imessage, deactivated the phone with apple and wiped the phone clean. the problem persists.

HT1349 Samsung phone is not receiving texts from iphone users

we switched from iphone to samsung galaxy and now we are not receiving text messages from some iphone users. I think their phones still think we are iphones, and they're trying to send us imessages. how do we disable the imessage association with our phone numbers?

If you still have the iPhone, use it to deactivate iMessage. Otherwise contact Apple.

Phone not receiving texts from internet?

Hello, I have a GC1, it's one of those unbreakable phones, and my daughter is in Scotland for the summer and she is trying to text me from the verizon website through the messaging tab but I cannot receive them. She can text my wife who has the same kind of phone but the flip kind with the keyboard. We both just got new phones so I thought something might be wrong there but hers works and mine does not. I would really like to be able to receive texts from my daughter while she's away. Can you help me?

You can check online to see if you have a block for text from the web. Go to your My Verizon account, Go to Services at the top, Spam Controls, Internet Spam Blocking. At the bottom, make sure both options are unchecked, block all text messages sent from the web & block all text messages sent from email.

Not receiving texts from iPhone contacts when I'm not connected to wifi or cell data. I can't send and receive regular SMS texts with non iMessage users but iMessage users message are not being converted to text when I don't have internet connect

I can send and receive to any non iPhone user. I can send a message as a text to an iPhone user but if I'm not connected to cellular data or wifi I do not receive messages from iPhone contacts. From what I understand these message should automatically send to me as texts instead of iMessages but since the update it's not functioning properly. Please help. I've tried turning iMessage off and I still don't receive the messages until after I reconnect to wifi.

I have the same problem! Before the upgrade, if I wasn't connected to the internet, any messages sent to me from an iphone would convert automatically to a text message. I have payg tarriff, so I turn cell data off, as it costs too much to use it. I have wifi at home and work, but if I'm out and about, I don't receive texts from iphone users until I'm on wifi. I get them ok from non iphone users. There was never any problem until ios7

I recently got a new Samsung Galaxy S4. I registered this phone to a new number.... I did not port an existing number to the phone. Since getting the phone, I have had trouble receiving texts from iphone users - their messages will not come through on my phone unless their imessage is turned off. As you can imagine, this is quite a hassle - having to explain this problem every time I give someone my number, and several people having to change their settings every time they text me.
I've done research on this problem, and it seems that this happens when you port a number from an iphone to an android. The problem is fixed when you update your apple id account, and delete the number from the imessage service. I am concerned that my current number used to be registered to an iphone - and that the number is possibly still associated with an imessage account. I have no way of changing this, so I'm stuck.
I understand that this may be a problem that only Apple can fix, but any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

The good news is that you are absolutely on the right track. The best way to take care of this is to ensure the phone number is un registered with Apple/iMessage. You mentioned that this is a brand new phone number for you, so we would also like the opportunity to check a few things on your line as well. Do you receive any type of alert or error message when the iPhone text try to come through? Which application are you using, primarily, to send/receive text messages. Let us know! Thunderbolt Not Receiving Texts From Other Carriers

I installed the official firmware release on June 15, 2011. Since then my phone spontaneouly reboots more than ever and I am completelu unable to receive texts from other carriers (T-Mobile, AT&T, ect). I am able to send messages out only. I have rebooted the phone (when it's not doing it all by itself) and tried the *228, Option 2 to update the PRL. No change. Is there any fix for this?

I believe you'll have to take it to a Verizon store, as the *228 method ruins the SIM card for the Thunderbolt

Not receiving texts from non-iOS users

I upgraded to iOS7 and am not receiving text messages from non-iOS users. Unlike the iOS bug reported in the news which affects imessage, my phone seems not to be getting or sending texts to anyone on Android or Blackberry.
I tried rebooting the phone a few times and reset the network settings, the problem persists.
Is there a fix for this?
