  • Satellite L500-1WG - Built in web cam is not working

My built in web cam doesnt seem to be working, I discovered this last week and i've tried a few solutions such as uninstalling then reinstalling the driver but that work.
Also I delete my system restores to save space so I can't really go back to when it did work.
I don't think that i've installed any webcam drivers lately so I don't think it was that.
    Help?

    Hmmmm.....what can be done now?
Generally speaking webcam driver reinstall should help but you have tried it already.
Which operating system do you use?
Try to remove web camera application again, clean registry and all entries there, restart notebook and try to install right webcam driver again.
I really dont know what else you can try.
By the way: what is the webcam status in device manager?

Thank you for your reply.  I know I can use a card reader however I don't see why I should when importing directly from my camera has worked reliably for years.  The process I use is simply connecting the digital output from my camera to the USB port on the iMac, which has previously automatically opened iPhoto ready for the import.  Now all of a sudden my iMac does not recognise the camera.  However if I connect in the same way to my MacBook then iPhoto opens automatically on the MacBook, recognises the camera and is ready for importing.  So whilst I know I can use a reader, or my MacBook I want to use my iMac in the same way that I have for years.  I can only assume that the settings on the iMac may have changed, but I cannot verify this.

  • Built-in web cam on HP Envy Smartouch laptop not working

I have spent hours trying to get my built-in webcam to work. There is no image when I try to use Skype or to open it directly. It is currently saying "connect camera" if I just try to open the camera app. It used to be a HP TruVision camera and has now "switched" to say it's a spca2082 pc camera. I have tried updating the driver (says it's updated), updating all the software that might have anything to do with it (any Windows updates, adobe flashdrive, CyberLink youcam, Skype, etc.). I've searched this forum and tried recommendations like restarting the computer, doing a power reset, even did a system retore. After that it went briefly back to HP TruVision and showed a few seconds of image, but flickered back and forth between that and spca2082 (i.e., video to no video) until it just showed a black screen again. I am NOT techy and have maxed out anything I know how to do, nor can I find a solution online. Please help! I've got two kids away at school and Skype is our main way to stay in touch -- I need a working web cam!!

  • G530 and built in web cam working not under W7

I upgraded my OS to W7 a few weeks ago. I paid for the upgrade DVD from Lenovo directly. When I received the DVD they also provided me with a CD of the drivers that I need. When I run the exe under the cam directly I get an error message letting me know that the hardware does not exist. I have tried the online version of the driver and I get the same error message. I can see the camera in the "Devices and Printers"
Is there anyone out there that can help me with this issue. I need to cam for Skye with family in Australia.

Since posting my original issue, I have found that the web cam is actually working. I am able to do video chat in Yahoo messenger and Skype. I am also able to broadcast out via sites like Cam4.
I did find a really great substitute for the EasyCapture program. I found the program 'WebCamMax" http://www.webcammax.com. It is not free but it is worth purchasing.  It gives you a lot more special effects than EasyCapture does.
I hope that this has helped.

  • IMovie 6.0.3 does not recognize built in iSight Camera on new iMac

New iMac, Intel, OS 10.5.4, QT 7.5.
Built in Camera works with Photo Booth, the new iMovie 7.1.3 and iChat.
iMovie HD 6.0.3 or 6.0.4 does not recognize the camera. Opening a new project results in a No Camera Connected error. I have tried selecting various options in the video format drop down when creating a new project. I have repaired permissions, tried it under various users, removed the imovie plist, reinstalled imovie (both 6.0.3 and 6.0.4) without success. All 10 of the new computers are exhibiting this problem.
    Any help would be appreciated.

That is not an option that I can select on the imac's. On my iBook under 10.5.4 with iMovie HD 6.0.3 or 6.0.4 I can click on the triangle next to the camera icon and select the built in iSight camera. On the new iMacs that does not work. The built in iSight is not listed as an option.

  • How to view my hp high definition built in web cam to others from touchsmart 310-1110

    Product # XS988EA

    Hello ammani:
Finely HP updates fix it. I just found out my self how to do it. On any messangers or Skype. Open it up and sign in if you do not see the tools. Aim messanger I haven't figured that one out. For Yahoo,  Window Live Massagers and Sype are about the same. Yahoo automatically pick up HP Webcam ounce I set it for Windows Live Massager. Click on Tools List drops down Select Audio and video set up ...   First thing you will see is microphone set up run test. Click next Set Up Audio and Video -Webcam (Window) Select the web-cam you want to use to place a video calls. I choose HP Web Camera Filter. You can always close out filter screen after start up won't change your new settings Skpe is a little different this one you need to be signed in. Click on tools ounce signed in. Select Options, New window Click on Video Settings Now you can set up your video same as above for Windows Live Massanger.
For other messengers look for Key words: Tools, Audio Settings. Video Settings. Remeber you may have to be signed in to bring the popper Tool Selection list. Have fun and injoy.

  • I am having trouble with a video program not connecting to my web cam. My computer is a 64 bit

I am using My Video Talk suite to make videos. I have used it before with this computer and it worked fine. My computer is a 64 bit. I recently downloaded the newest version of Firefox and now my video suite does not recognize my web cam and I cannot produce any videos. My Video Talk works in 32 bit I believe.
Do you have any answers to my problem?

Could the video be too big because of using too high a resolution?   480p is sufficient for a DVD.  the thread at:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5868958?tstart=30
    may be of help.
Apple does not support Blue ray - you have to use a thrid party application like Toast.
To transfer the video to a PC you need a FAT-formatted hard drive (or of course a sufficiently big memory stick).
You could also go via a network, via the cloud (eg Dropbox) or with 'Wetransfer" or similar.
    Geoff.

  • PC not recognising iPad as a camera

When I connect my iPhone 4 to my PC it recognises it under Devices as a camera, yet when I connect my original iPad to my PC it does not recognise the iPad.
Is there a way of making the PC recognise the iPad it as a camera under devices?

The camera option should appear if you've got photos that were taken with the iPad or saved from emails/websites - it won't appear if you've only got synced photos on it. As you don't say what version of windows that you've got you can follow the instructions here for Windows XP http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1857, and Vista and 7 here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1500

  • MacBook pro does not recognize built in iSight cam even after restart/ reset

After years of using Sony hdr500 video cam, iMovie stopped recognizing it and then stopped recognizing the built in iSight cam as well. Now photo booth does not see it either. I have restarted the computer to reset SMC and that did not resolve the problem. I would appreciate any help offered. Thanks JJMANN

see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1151  Check cables, connections, too many devices, etc., suggested there.
If your issue persists, try these steps:
    Shut down the computer.
Disconnect all devices and cables except the keyboard and mouse cable(s).
Disconnect the computer from the power outlet and wait for 3 to 5 minutes.
Plug the computer back in and turn it on.
Reconnect the device(s) (one at a time if there is more than one) and test. Test with each port if you have more than one.
With all you have already done, if no USB devices are recognized or work on your Mac after you have also considered all the above, you likely have a hardware problem.  Contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.

  • 1.8Ghz G5 (late 2004) can not recognise my sony digital camera

My PowerMac G5(Mac OS X 10.3.9) can not recognise sony digital camera, but my friend have same model G5 with no problem, what shell I do?

Did you use the very same camera on either Mac or just the same model? When my Mac (also G5 1.8 Dual, though the earlier spring model) had problems recognizing my Sony, it was a question of setting the USB mode on the camera: E.G. my camera allow to set its USB mode to either Normal or PTP, the PTP setting caused problems at times, though its too long to tell, of which nature they were. May be woth a try
