Not Recognising DKU 5 Cable

Can anybody help me I have winXP pro with service pack 1 and I have followed the directions to the letter on installing the driver for a DKU 5 cable to work with PC suite on my 7250i. Every time I plug the cable in windows recognises it as a "TUSB3410 Boot Device" and no matter what I have tried it just wont install. It is a nokia cable and has worked fine with no problems at all for about 6 months until I had upgraded the HDD and installed a fresh copy of windows and since then I have had a nightmare with it.

I have the same problem here, I have a DKU-5 labelled cable, I uninstalled all the Nokia software off my laptop as I had previously had PC Suite 6.5 installed and rebooted. I followed the quick start guide for installing the DKU-5 driver to the letter and rebooted after installing the driver, It didn't ask me to reboot but the guide said to. I then connected the cable to my PC and get the same problem as described above it recognises it as a "TUSB3410 Boot Device" and cannot locate a driver for the hardware e.g. the cable. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Gavin Jones

  • 6610, dku-5, usb device not recognised

    Hi...
Have a 6610 and Windows XP (SP 3) and need to save all my data... so trying to use PC Suite. Bought a DKU-5 cable:
    1. Installed driver from the accompany DKU-5 CD and installed suite... when asked, connected cable and phone. Not recognised
    2. Uninstalled all the above, including registry settings
    3. Installed latest downloaded driver from the Nokia website. Connected cable and phone to PC. Not recognised - sometimes the system just stays quiet, and sometimes i get an error message that the device has failed or not been recognised
    4. Tried running PC Suite from the original CD... doesn't find the phone
    Grateful for any suggestions?
    TIA

    Hi aspergerguy...
First, thanks for the response and sorry for the delay in replying... but have been trying out various routes.
    1. Your suggestion does not even come up in the interface options i get...
    2. Have also bought a CA-42 cable and tried that.
    3. Have downloaded the latest drivers from the Nokia site and the latest PC Suite...
    4. Have aggressively uninstalled by removing even registry entries
    5. Have tried installing and rebooting in various configurations
Nothing works. The CA-42 cable goes as far as saying "New hardware detected" but then gives the "USB device not recognised" error. Just doesn't seem to recognise the driver.
Regarding the COM port suggestion... if i go through the Nokia Connection Manager and click the DKW-5/CA-42 options which are listed under Serial cables, alli get is a COM1 option...
    Any other ideas?
    Cheers...

  • Equium M50 will not recognise the LAN port - error: Network Cable unplugged

I own a Toshiba Equium M50 and have problems with the Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller.
I used to connect via an 'ADDON' Modem/ADSL Switch and had no problems. I then replaced the ADDON with a 'NETGEAR' DG834G ADSL Modem/Router to gain the wireless port, and since then my machine will not recognise the LAN port. <error: Network Cable unplugged>.
I know that the cables are OK as I used them with other laptops and had no trouble. I can also plug in a PCI card to connect without any problems. It looks to me as if the Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller has a problem with the netgear Modem/Router.
Anyone out there with a similar experience and some advice/suggestions?
    PLEASE

    Hi
For me it doesnt show like a LAN card problem but your router is a problem.
Check the device manager if the LAN card was properly recognized. If there are no yellow exclamation marks so everything is ok!
You can try to delete the LAN card from the device manager and after new reboot install the LAN driver again.
The issue has stared after installing or connecting the new Netgear modem router.
Therefore I would recommend to checking firstly the settings or to update the firmware on this router.

  • I pod not recognised when used with usb cable

I have recentley bought a new computer, which has no firewire port ( which i had used to connect my ipod classic 40gbto my old computer without any issues. However I have purchased a usb connection cable to use with the new computer and neither windows or I tunes will recognise that i connect my ipod. I simply get a message saying usb device malfunctioned, windows does not recognise it. Although the ipod will still connect to my old computer with the firewirecable it will not connect with the usb either, any help would be greatly recieved as I have tried resetting and disk mode to no avail.

I have to say I have the same exact problem. It may sometimes be solved by putting the ipod into Disk mode before plugging it or by changing the ipod drive letter. In my case nothing have worked though, so if anyone has other ideas please tell me.

  • AirPort express not recognising internet signal from cable modem

my airport express is not recognising the internet connection. It is connected directly via a cable modem (which has full strength when connected directly to the PC) and when networked to the PC it shows in airport utility but when configuring it returns an error message saying it is not recognising an internet signal. the unit can't be faulty as I have just replaced this one with a brand new replacement and the problem is the same. Is there a setting i have missed which is not allowing the signal through from the modem ?

It is always a good idea to perform a complete power recycle of your networking gear whenever you change network hardware. Please check out the following AirPort User Tip for details on how to do so.

  • 6021 not recognised bluetooth or Cable

Hi I've got (for my sins)

    Service Pack 2

    Version 5.1.2600.2180
    Ca42 cable with ser2pl.sys V 2.0.0.18 by manufacturer Ms3303H
    1) Bluetooth:
    COM12='Nokia PC Suite',COM14 = 'COM1' outgoing and 13 incoming
Computer appears as paired device on phone, 6021 appears in WIN Bluetooth menu with passkey enabled and connected.
Run PC Suite, 'get connected' -finds phone but dialogue box says" Cannot authenticate the phone".
Disconnect bluetooth AND remove pairing from phone and delete connection from PC.
    2) CA42 cable connection (on COM10)
0x80043605 PC Suite does not recognise the connected phone, switch it off & on again. I do, phone says data enhancement connected when connected to cable, as before. Nothing happens in get connected window. I re-check 'Manage Connections' applet and make sure only CA42 is selected (CA53 driver also on this pc for wife's phone) but still no response from PC suite.
    What next please?
I've tried resetting phone to default a couple of times and I've gone through this procedure in both directions. Ocassionally I get an "Enhancement not supported" message from the phone.
    Paul

Thanks, I Have installed, stripped out, and re-installed drivers for CA-42 and CA-53. Have run without CA-53 drivers as well. The current version of PC suite says the drivers are included but XP always asks for drivers when the cable is plugged in.
No other bluetooth connections are mentioned in ther sytem tray "show bluetooth devices" dialogue and I have tried with all but the the Pcsuite COM connection disabled by the bluetooth devices CP.
I think the phone may be faulty.

  • IPod Nano: Error Message "The USB device has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it"

Hi everyone, I just received 2 brand new iPod Nanos for my kids for Christmas, thought I'd be smart and sync them both now before wrapping them so I don't have to be messing around with them on the day. One synced without a problem, then using the same cable, same computer, same USB port, the 2nd one came up with "The USB device has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it" I've tried restarting my computer, unplugging and reinserting the USB. Is there anthing else I can try before returning it? Thanking you for any help.

I have solved my problem, I ended up ringing Apple and got an awesome lady who told me to reset it by pressing the sleep button and menu button together for about 10 seconds and once it actually turned on for the first time the computer then recognised it, so it's all good, :-) Thank you lovely lady!

  • Macbook pro(2008 later) can not recognise external monitor(NEC UXI2090) with mini-DP to DVI adapter with 9600GT

I bought mini-DP to DVI frome Apple several monthes ago and it worked well in that time until yesterday the external monitor show me no signal sign. Other PCs were connected with the same cable and monitor and they are fine. I am wondering there is something wrong in the adaptor or macbook pro. Furthermore I found the external monitor can display nornally when I switched to 9400 graphic card and used mini-DP to VGA adapter. If I switch to 9600GT no signal again. If I switch 9400 using mini-DVI, it is shown on the external screening: Out of range... In a word, In the mode of 9600GT, mac can not recognise external monitor(I can not detect it in the systerm preference even I press detect display buttun) and 9400 works in VGA mode. However when I connect adapter to mac, the screen showed blue flash.
I reseted SMC, no use; I created a new account or enter mac to safe mode, no use; so far I did not reseted PRAM beacuse of something wrong of my system. I am downlaoding Mountain Lion OS and will install it. Then I will reset PRAM and try again.
I do not know whether I shoud change the adapter or the single-link DVI cable to dual-link. Someone said it is useful in their condition. I tried some methods from BBS, such as connected when devices were off and then open, and so on. I failed.
    Any suggestion for this problem?
    Addition: OS: 10.7.4(Lion)

I turns out that the logic board of my MacBook Pro was faulty (despite being brand new).
I took it to the Apple Store, presented the problem, and one of the Tech's came to the same conclusion that I had -- hardware failure.  Phone support was no help in the matter (and even told me that what I was trying to do wasn't a supported option, which is rediculous).  However, the Genius Bar did take care of the problem, and my MacBook Pro was back to me with a replaced logic board within a few days.
    Hope that htis helps.

  • All firewire devices not recognised after upgrading to Leopard 10.5.4

Hello, yesterday I finally got around to upgrading one of my home computers (old Emac G4 powerpc from 2005) to Leopard. I have been using Leopard on my work computer (G5 also from 2005) with no problems for a year now (this Leopard update was installed professionally when. I work with a lot of files on external hd's, mostly Lacies, one Maxtor and yesterday got new G-Drive 1TB. Since the upgrade the Emac will not recognise any of the external hds when connected by Firewire. It will recognise them if I use the USB. However I'm sending too much media traffic (film editing) to just use usb all the time. I need my firewire connections!
This is clearly a Leopard issue, there are no problems with the drives or the firewire connections or the cables, they all work fine on the work computer and my other home computer (powerbook laptop G4) and as I said the upgraded emac will recognise them from usb. And since it's three different kinds of drives that all work on other computers but all stopped working on the single Leopard upgrade it's not a Lacie, Maxtor or G-drive problem.
I've seen a lot of threads on this and other support forums about firewire problems but some are a slightly different problem and many are quite old so I wonder if anyone has any recent experience/advice for me?
Many threads complain that Apple was not recognising the problem, maybe there is also some progress there?
thanks in advance for any help!

It's still possible that there is now a hardware issue, and if so it might respond to resetting the FireWire bus. This can often be done by just unplugging the power cord for a few minutes.

    # Plug the computer back in and turn it on.
    # Reconnect the device(s) (one at a time if there is more than one) and test. Test with each port if you have more than one.

i tried to update my ipod but then it didnt work saying that an unknown error has occured, now itunes is not recognising that an ipod has been plugged in and the picture that comes up when you first get it (an arrow leading to the itunes sign) is on my screen, i dont know what to do?

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
