Not recognizing last chapter

First I have iDVD v 7.0.4, iMovie v6.0 & iMovie v8.0.4. I just created .img file from 1 hr 40 min movie created by iMovie v6 with 6 chapter marks. You can select chapters 1-5 but can not select chapter 6 when playing the .img file using DVD Player. Yesterday I created .img file from 1 hr 45 min totally different movie using iMovie v8.0.4 with 5 chapter marks. You can select chapters 1-4 but can not select chapter 5 when playing the .img file using DVD Player OR when the .img file is burned to DVD the same problem exists on two DVD players or when playing the DVD on the computer. When playing either movie in iDVD BEFORE creating the .img file you can select the last chapter OK. You CAN select the last chapter in either movie (on .img file) by selecting to the next to last chapter and then selecting the button to jump to next chapter, so the chapter marker is recorded in both cases. Problem has to be with iDVD since the same problem occurs with both iMovie versions. I've found I need to deleted the iDVD.plist file when switching between the 2 movies. I've created lots of movies in the past using older versions of iDVD without this problem. Believe this is the first movie I've done on the MACPRO purchased last Dec. Suggestions appreciated. You can select chapters 1-5 but can not select chapter 6 when playing the .img file using DVD Player.
Does this particular chapter fall outside of the TV Safe Area?
If so, return it to the TV Safe area and try again to burn the Dvd. (you will of course need to delete the current encoded assets to re encode your iDvd project again).
If placing the chapter back within the TV Safe area fails to help / resolve this issue then you'll need to look at an alternate app like:

Sony RDR-GX355 seems to not store SPRM 7 (last chapter played)

I have created a DVD with a main menu and a chapter menu such that when the remote menu button is pressed after reaching the track from the chapter menu, you are taken to the chapter menu and the button of the last chapter played is highlighted. The DVD behaves correctly in the Simulator, in Apple's DVD Player, in my Sony DVP-NS575P player, and in another player I tried in a store. However, in my Sony RDR-GX355, the button for the first chapter is highlighted no matter what chapter was last played or selected.
Thinking (and hoping) that perhaps my particular unit of the RDR-GX355 was defective, I went to B&H and found a salesman willing to take a brand new Sony RDR-GX355 out of its box and hook it up to play my disk. Again, the button for the first chapter was highlighted no matter what chapter was last played or selected.
My DVD uses SPRM 7 in order to know which button to highlight on the chapter menu. My conclusion is that the Sony RDR-GX355 does not store SPRM 7.
When playing my Concert for George DVD I have observed behavior that supports my conclusion that the Sony RDR-GX355 does not store SPRM 7. When I play Concert for George in the Sony RDR-GX355, using the remote menu button to return to the chapter menu highlights the button of the last chapter selected. But in all my other players, using the remote menu button to return to the chapter menu highlights the button of the last chapter played.
Does anyone have any experience with the Sony RDR-GX355 that you'd care to share?

Hello, I am not aware of it being turned off.
In that case, subtle damage to your Apple Application Support might be causing both it to not be running, and the trouble with images in the store.
Try a complete uninstall/reinstall of your iTunes as per the following document:

With the newer, undamaged, version of Apple Application Support in place, are you able to see images in the Store again?

5th Gen Ipod not recognized by windows or itunes. Have tried it all. Any Ideas?

Hello everyone. I have a 5th generation Ipod I recently purchased that I'm having what seems to be an common issue. When I connect the ipod to my computer via USB, the Ipod is not recognized in windows or Itunes. Occasionally the Ipod will charge when connected but not always. Though this is the same for the old wire I used and the new one I purchased today. Even when shown charging the Ipod is not recognized and there is no noise that a device has been connected. I have tried the 4 R's (without Restore) which I can't do, chaninging the drive letter, disabling start up software,uninstalling and reinstalling all Apple Software. I have tried connecting to another computer and have gotten the same result. When I check the diagnostic screen on the ipod it shows that a usb cable is detected. I have upgraded all my driver software, disabled and reenabled them. I'm almost 3 hours from the nearest store so that it out of the question. I'm curious if anyone has any other ideas and will try anything you think might be the issue and fix. Thank you for time.

From my experience, the only way you're gonna get a PC afflicted with this disease to work with a 5th gen nano is to roll back to an earlier version of iTunes. Those affected have been exhausted by this ongoing issue. To update or not to update? And I always say never update unless you have to, and turn off all that auto update mess!
I have two core2duo lappies running 32b vista. My workflow dictates 32b fyi. One is acer aspire running itunes v 11.1 (.0.126), 5th gen nano was originally formatted and works just fine on this machine to this day. My other is the bigger badder lenovo thinkpad and the 5th gen will NOT mount using any version of itunes past 11.0 (.1.12) Windows mounts it just fine. itunes is not having it. no shirt no shoes no service.
I have both a 4th and 5th gen nano. The 4th gen works great on both machines, I even successfully tested it with the latest version (11.1.5) before subsequent deletion on the thinkpad! Weird huh? I think my next experiment might be to restore my 5th gen w/ a Mac and theeeeen plug it into PC itunez.
I'm at a loss on the thinkpad. Scanned for intruders. Cut the Lenovo bloat. Executed system and reg maintenance. Took down msconfig to a safe mode + itunes level to attempt to resolve possible sw conflicts but to no avail. NO NO NO. Every single dang port, every time on the thinkpad. Has me feeling like others might get the same treatment by the next itunes update. :|
So in summary for me:
5th gen nano and thinkpad are a NoGo on 11.1^ last working version for me = 11.0.1
5th gen nano is working on an acer aspire 11.1.0 but no way in the world am I updating
4th gen nano is kicking 5th gen nano's @zz so what would make me want to buy a new ipod?

IPod not recognized by Windows or iTunes- Please Help!!!

I have had my ipod mini since last summer and so far it has worked flawlessly. However, recently, when I connect my iPod to my computer, it does not charge and is not recognized as being plugged it at all.
The iPod displays a battery icon although it does not move. I read on the site that this is because the battery is low and needs up to 30 minutes charging time for it to be recognized. However, I have had the iPod plugged in for much longer than this and it still is unrecognized.
Also, every once and a while, the display shifts from the static battery icon into the APPPLE icon. Along with the icon, the iPod itself makes a strange mechanical noise. It sounds something like "doo-di-doo-di-doo-di" Then it displays the SAD IPOD icon with the apple.com/support/ipod website underneath, before starting the cycle over again.
I have tried everything on the site, including putting it in disk mode (which didn't work).
Is it perhaps an internal problem? I don't understand why a perfetly good ipod would stop working all of a sudden. It is still covered by the warranty it came with on purchase, so if it needs fixing, will apple fix it at no cost?
Any help is appreciated!!

The sad iPod icon is usually indicative of a hard drive problem, and if under warranty will be repaired/replaced free of charge, although after 6 months of the warranty has expired there is a handling charge.

IPod is not recognized by Windows, iTunes or Device Manager

I'm running Windows XP with external hard drive. When hard drive is connected, iPod will not sync and I get message stating "USB Device Not Recognized. One of the USB devices had malfunctioned..."
When disconnect, iPod will sync. However, iTunes is on external drive; therefore musc is not syncing onto iPod. I've attempted the 5 R's as well as searching for iPod in Device Mananger. When iPod is conncected, it is listed in Devce Manage as "Unknown Device." Articles to solve recommend relettering device, bu how do I get it to be recognized by Device Manager?

Ipod not recognized by computer or itunes when not in disk mode

My ipod nano 6th gen. recently has stopped working. I am able to charge it for a short amount of time but have to reset the ipod everytime I go to turn it on. I wanted to update the software but when I plug it into my comp that I have previously updated this ipod on, it says that the device is not recognized. I followed steps on the support page and discovered that the ipod is recognized as a device and as a ipod in disk mode but when I reset the ipod back to normal mode it is once again not recognized. I don't have a problem with my comp or itunes when I connect my iphone or ipod touch so I'm trying to figure out how to get the ipod to work. any suggestions.

I have kind of the same problem with my 60gb ipod with colour display.
everything was working fine up until last sunday when i plugged into my laptop and I got the 'folder with exclamation mark' icon
i reset it and put it into disk mode but when i connect it to my laptop it doesnt turn up on itunes or windows. occasionally it will appear then disappear again so i can't restore it to factory settings.
i did manage to get it to appear in itunes and click on the restore button but i got the message that it couldnt be restored and there was a problem with the 'firmware' but before i could try anything else it disappeard from itunes again.
i have been told that the problem may be with my USB cable so i will buy another one at the weekend but if that doesnt work does anyone else have any ideas as i have tried nearly everything.
i personally think my ipod caught me looking at my friends new 80gb video ipod and got jealous!!!!!

I receive my ipod nano(2gb) by August, it was running fine, without a problem, but now i can recharge it because windows our itunes does not recognized my ipod is connected. I even have try to recharged in true the electricity but the resolte was the same, my ipod does not show to be recharging.

Can anyone help? My 30GB iPod is not recognized by windows.

"USB Device Not Recognized" is the error report I get each time I connect my iPod to my USB port. I tested my USB ports with other devices and they worked normally. Has anyone had similar issues? Can anything be done without sending my iPod in for repairs? Any advice shall be appreciated.

External hard drive is not recognized after attempt to format

I just got a new macbook and couldn't use my external hard drive because it was formatted on a PC and only allowed me to read the data. I backed up the data on the 250gb hd and then used Disk Utility to erase the hd and format it as "Mac OS extended (journaled)." After beginning, Disk Utility stopped working and showed up as "not responding" in the Activity Monitor.
Now the hd does not show up on the desktop and can only be seen in Disk Utility. If I try to erase again or partition the hd the utility stops responding. If I try to zero out the drive it continues to say "preparing to zero" indefinately. Now the hd is also not recognized by windows except in the windows disk utility, but it does not even give the option of formatting/initializing it, so that is not an option.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this before, or have any idea of something that I haven't tried yet. I really want to get the drive working and have exhausted all the ideas I can come up with. The internet has not provided too many ideas either.

I have crazy solution to format it to FAT 32, it work a couple times on my several MAxtor, and Western Digital HD. But this is the last resort and if you are not handy and familiar, don't do it.
It happen on my external HD, so I crack the enclosure open, pulled the HD out and attached it as internal HD on a PC after adjusting the jumper to master and make sure no other HD attached to the motherboard. Make sure the motherboard detected (you can see it from bios menu).
Insert a bootable installer disk before XP ('98, ME, or 2000), and start from there until a promt comes, and type fdisk and you delete the old partition and create a new partition and restart once using the disk still and format it using FAT 32.
After that you put it back to the enclosure, and mount it to MacBook as a new HD with default factory format.
If you don't have the installer disk, this might help :

External Hard Drive suddenly not recognized

I have a WD 500GB external hard drive that I use to back up my data. I only have one hard drive as I'm currently living abroad and couldn't bring a 2nd with me.
I plugged in my external last night to back up my MacBook Pro and it backed everything up. I even went into Time Machine to go back and restore a file or two and that worked without problem. I have been using this drive for about a year to back up everything on my Mac and, although sensitive, it seems to work okay.
I plugged it in this morning and nothing. My Mac will not recognize that the drive is not plugged in in Time Machine or in Finder. If I go to Apple Logo > About This Mac > More Info... > Storage tab, it just shows my internal hard drive and my CD/DVD drive. If I click on Disk Utility with the drive plugged in, it shows my Hard Drive (Macintosh HD) with two icons, one inset below the other and both in black font, and then my external hard drive has two underneath, but only the top one is black font - the one underneath is greyed out.
It goes like this:
250.06 GB Hitachi...
     Macintosh HD
500.08 GB WD My Passport
     Time Machine Backups (greyed out)
Superdrive (greyed out)
When I clicked on the 500GB one and told it to repair/verify it said the disk was working fine. I tried unplugging and replugging in the drive (it is not recognized in Finder so I could not properly eject the disk). I restarted my Mac with it unplugged and plugged it in afterward and nothing.
The HD itself is working, the light is blinking (not solid) and I can feel the hard drive spinning, but I'm at a loss as to what to do to get my Mac to recognize it again.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

My digital camera "Canon Powershot SX120 is" is not recognized by the devicemanager. I have read Digital Cameras.

The "camera"-Group isn't needed anymore and this group doesn't exist on my system.
The Powershot SX 120 has a MTP/PTP connection mode (as the manual says). But:

There is no udev-rule for this camera. If i create one while copying a rule from a similar camera from /etc/udev/rules.d/69-libmtp.rules, and store it into /etc/udev/rules.d/69-canon.rules, the device-manager shows up. My udev-rule:

Don't know what to do ... is a udev-rule necessary to bring up the message from device-manger? Or is the Camera not recognized as a mtp-device (the Camera has no such settings)? How could i figure it out?
With Digikam i could import Fotos, but i would do so with gwenview. I've tried to check it out with gwenview_importer:

IPhone 5 not recognized by iTunes 12

Hello all,
I have an iPhone 5, I'm running iTunes 12.0.1.26 and Yosemite (OS X 10.10.1). Over the last few days, I've noticed that my iPhone is not recognized by iTunes or even Yosemite itself. I have already tried everything in this doc: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for OS X - Apple Support, to no avail. I've been combing the communities and Google to no avail. Does this mean I need to try a manual restore on the phone? Any other solutions?

I was able to uninstall and reinstrall iTunes, but my Iphone does not appear in iTunes, nor in Windows Explorer on my Windows 7 desktop. But it does appear in both iTunes and Windows Explorer on my laptop which runs Windows 8... How can I get it reconginzed on my desktop?

I have a brandnew Tecra A9 (PTS52E) with Vista Business installed. However, I need XP Prof and have a slipstreamed XP-SP2 CD. The SATA Disk is not recognized from XP setup, so I need a 'F6' driver.
There are a lot of howtos about doing this for the 945 chipset, but I couldn't solve this on my A9 (Mobile 965 Express Chipset). I don't want to buy a USB-Floppydisk drive just for one-time-installation. So I have to build the driver (iastor.sys and more) in the XP setup disc.
Some problems: there seems to be no easy way to do this, because intel only provides *.inf files for the ICH8R (=RAID) controller, which doesn't exist in the A9. So I have to edit the *.inf files, correct?
Another thing: I saw in another posting here the discussion about switching from AHCI to compatibility mode in BIOS. I can't find a way to change this setting.
Aargh, I need this Notebook for my work, on a A8 (which also is mine) I installed XP without any problems.
Can anyone help?

now i have a new problem: the last reboot after installation finished leads to bluescreen and immediately reboot (so I can't see the stop-message)
During installation the reboot from Harddisk works.
But so far:
you need the latest Intel Chipset Driver:

Next you must extract the files in a temp directory:
IATA75 _ENU.exe -a -a -pC:\temp\AHCI
Now edit the file iaahci.inf:
you have to change all the ICH8R related entries (R means RAID, which isn't supported in that A9 version of the chipset) to ICH8. Also change the related PCI-device IDs from 0x8086h/0x2821h (Vendor/Device ID) to 0x8086h/0x2824h.
The best way I think is to copy all ICH8R related sections and replace "ICH8R" with "ICH8" and "2821" with "2824".
As you need the driver during installation, you also have to change these settings in txtsetup.oem.
The next steps I found in a ASUS forum (they have similar problems):
create a new (personalized) installation CD for Windows XP
STEP 1: Modify the original XP installation files
a) Copy all the files and directories of the XP installation disk to your hard drive
Ex: form D:*.* (your installation CD) to C:/XP/*.* (your HD)
b) Create the following directory path:
XP\$OEM$\$1\drivers\SATA
c) Copy all the files of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (see solution I) to that directory: XP\$OEM$\$1\drivers\SATA
iaAhci.inf, iaAhci.cat, iaStor.inf, iaStor.cat, iaStor.sys, and TxtSetup.oem.
d) Copy iaStor.sys to XP\i386 directory
e) Modify the file TXTSETUP.SIF located at: XP\i386

Use: notepad.exe to edit it.
e.1) Under [HardwareIdsDatabase] add the following lines
right after GenFloppyDisk = "flpydisk"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2821&CC_0106 = "iaStor"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2824&CC_0106 = "iaStor"
and before PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1230 = "intelide",
Note: dont touch any other line. Be carefull, the name iaStor => is case sensitive.
e.2) under [SourceDisksFiles] add
iaStor.sys = 1,,_x,4,1
Note: There are several [SourceDisksFiles] sections. I added the line in all the existing sections.
e.3) under [SCSI.Load] add
iaStor = iastor.sys,4
e.4) under [SCSI] add
iaStor = "Intel(R) 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH8M-E/M)"
Note: If your controller is a different one, use the right one. Read the contents of the TxtSetup.oem file for more information.
f) Create a new file called (use notepad) WINNT.SIF and locate it at: XP\i386

Now use a tool to create a bootable CD. I prefer "AutoStreamer" because I also have to slipstream SP2 into my XP Prof. CD.
With it you generate an iso image. Burn it to disk and that's it.
Like I've said: installation works well, just the last reboot from disk creates a bluescreen and therefor a bootloop.
