I use Outlook for my contacts phone and extensions. I synchronize Outlook contacts with my IPhone.

Thank you paulcb, I'm reasonably new to iPhone. I get notified of voicemail messages in the app that appears as a green square with a little white call-out box inside (labelled "Messages""). This is also where sms messages are displayed. Is there another location where I can get a visual notification of the voicemail details (i.e time and caller id if available) like what you are apparently seeing?

  • ITunes not recognizing Outlook

I was hoping to sync my new iPad with the contacts and calendar in my Outlook 2007. However, iTunes does not seem to be recognizing that I have Outlook installed. When I go to the Info page for my iPad in iTunes, there are no selections to select from in the "Sync Contacts with" list box. In addition, in the "Sync Calendars" section, it states that "No supported calendar application can be found.". Has anyone had a similar problem?
I have moved my "Program Files" directory over to my D: drive (I'm running Windows 7). Could that have iTunes confused? Or am I missing something?

I've updated the path in the registry for the default install path to point to "D:\Program Files". That way, any program I install (including Outlook) automatically defaults to installing on the D: drive.

  • IPhoto 9.4.1 not recognizing Outlook... plus more.

I am unable to send email with iPhoto 9.4.1 through Outlook for Mac 2011.
Outlook shows up as a choice in iPhoto preferences, but when I try to send an email, nothing happens.
If I shut down Outlook and then try to send, the only thing that happens is Outlook opens.
As a side issue, I can send email with iPhoto through OS X Mail, however the email message is not brought forward on the screen as it used to do.
I have to hunt for it behind whatever else is open at the time.

Yes. That is the problem many of us are having.

  • Desktop software not recognizing Outlook 2000 at all

    I'm running Windows 2000 platform, and Outlook 2000 (SP3).
    I have a BB Storm.
I've installed Desktop version 4.7. (Can't install a higher version on Windows 2000.)
Installation went fine. Software recognized the Storm. When I go to the Syncronization and click on the box in front of Calendar (or any of the choices), the only 3 choices I see are:
    None
    ASCII Impoter/Exporter
    Yahoo
I've read every word of every manual, and can't find anything that will help me get Outlook onto that list. According to the Help section, Outlook is supported, yet it doesn't display.
Any suggestions on how to get Outlook onto the list?

The last version of DTM that supported Outlook 2000 was 4.2.2 -- so using 4.7 won't work...

  • 8830 & Desktop Manager does not recognize Outlook Express 2000, cannot sync

I just installed Desktop Manager 5.0 and connected to my BB 8830.  I use Outlook Express 2000 for calendar and I want to sync it with my BB 8330.  However, in Desktop Manager under Sync / Config / Select Device for calendar, the only choices are Yahoo and Import/Export Text.  Obviously it is not recognizing Outlook Express 2000 as a calendar program.  Does anyone have a solution?
I bought this 8830 mainly to sync its calendar with my Outlook Express calendar.  If it does not work, then I am going to return it to my cell phone carrier.

  • "USB device not recognized." "The connection between your device and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again." Tungsten E2, Outlook 2007

    Hi,
I am running XP SP 2, on a Dell Vostro 1000, Palm OS Garnet v5.4.7 on a Tungsten E2. I have worked though issues relating to synchronization, Outlook 2007, Docs to Go, etc., in the past.  Thank you board members!
Once I worked thru all the initial problems, my Tungsten E2 was sync' ing beautifully to my laptop until a few days ago.  There have been no changes (I know of) to the configuration, but now I receive  "The connection between your device and the desktop could not be established.  Please check your setup and try again."  On the laptop I sometimes get  "USB device not recognized."  I am unclear why I get the PC message sometimes and not others.
I have tried the following: (not necc exactly in this order)
Double checked Hot Sync Mgr settings: Local USB (ver. 6.0.1)
    Reset the Palm (multiple times)
Rebooted the laptop  (multiple times before and after the Palm resets)
Went to Support Libraries including http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=57,E=0000000001060189973,K=9550,Sxi=3,Case=Obj(3695...)
    and http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External2001,Case=obj(1409)
Followed the steps in "Start Here" found at  http://forums.palm.com/palm/board/message?board.id=windows_hotsync&thread.id=26057
Moved Backup directory as per a post on this forum
Looked for a deleted a file called "Graffiti_ShortCuts_____________" per a post on this forum
Followed the steps in HotSync troubleshooter guide you can run through located on
    http://kb.palm.com
Went into Device Manager - found it shows no yellow ! 's
Followed Device Mgr Troubleshooter - went all the way thru with no solution
Tried all four USB ports - the PC's bell-like tone does not sound when I disconnect or reconnect the Plam's cradle like it does when I conn/disconnect other USB devices -I think that is a clue.    ...?
Cleaned the Palm's contacts (and cradle's contacts with a old, dry toothbrush)
Read all the posts under "USB device not recognized."
OK, I'm at a loss, can anyone help me?  Many thanks in advance!

    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

    Hello!
Using a cradle with the Tungsten E2?  Tried bypassing the cradle and just use the hotsync cable?  Tried a different computer yet?  Somehow, the PC is having problems getting a signal from the device.  I assume you have the laptop charger plugged into the laptop during this?  Not going through a docking station or port-replicator.
One crazy thing you can try is unplug the charger from your laptop, remove the battery from the laptop and leave it out for like 10mins and put it back in and reboot the laptop.  This should not cause side effects but still contact your OEM to make sure that nothing else is needed after leaving the battery out for extended period of time.  Keep me posted.

  • Outlook is not recognized as standard

Although Outlook 2011 and Mail are configured to recognize Outlook as the standard e-mail application, my MBAir (mid 2012) will not open Outlook when asked to send a picture as an attachment. Instead, Mail opens up with the attachment. How do I get my laptop to do what I want it to do?
Thanks in advance fpr your help,
    Matias

From what I understood, your suggestion is to configure an e-mail account within Mail, Apple's e-mail program. I already have installed and configured Outlook, have imported my *.pst file and am working with Outlook. Outlook has been configuered as my standard e-mail program. Parallel to that, I have also configured (Apple) Mail with an e-mail account I don't need any more. The purpose of this was for me to be able to configure (Apple) Mail and thereby tell it that Outlook is my standard e-mail appliccation. (Apple) Mail and Outlook both know that Outlook is the e-mail application I exclusively wish to use.
Nonetheless, when I double finger click on a picture file in Preview and then ask the program to send the picture as an e-mail attachment, Apple's Mail opens up with the picture as an attachment. I have configured my MBAir to work exclusively with Outlook, but it won't. Why?

  • Vista and ipod nano driver not recognized?

My computer (vista) won't recognize my ipod nano second generation. It tells me driver not recognized?

Apple has release a new version of iTunes 8, in responce the issues with Vista.
    1.Unistall iTunes via StartMenu\Control Panel\Programs and Features
    2.Delete all previous iTunes installers.
3.Download iTunes 8 from the Apple website.
4.Makes sure you close Outlook and Explorer and all non-essential programs, as it seems to prevent the install at certain points.
    5.Install iTunes 8.
6.After the Install is complete, Open iTunes 8 before attaching your iPhone.
7.Unlock your iPhone if it is lock with a pass code.
8.Attach your iPhone, after a few seconds you should see that it has installed a driver for your iphone, then the iPhone will appear in iTunes.
I hope this helps, as I did spend some time with this issue myself.

  • HP Color Laserjet 4550 not recognized by Mavericks.

Okay folks, yeah, I know, it is an older printer. But, it's a work horse in excellent condition that gets the job done. The printer is Wi-Fi and also can do ethernet. Mavericks will not recognize either now to print.
I finally made the jump from Leopard 10.5.8 to Mavericks 10.9.2. Yes, I'm regretting it but had no choice since I needed to connect the phones and iPad to the MacBook Pro (mid '09). I never had any problems until I upgraded to Mavericks. Ugh.
Although HP and Apple say that the original driver should be okay, nope. So I found the updated driver and installed it. Nothing. I tried with JetDirect and IPP. Blank. It's like I have no printer and worse yet, no drop down list. Shall I say I am beyond livid? (Don't even get me started on other programs like my Adobe Creative Suite that it will not accept or my Outlook that I had to rebuild 2x since "upgrading" the OS a week ago!). I did try the eprintcenter.com for HP but there is no printer key code for it to work.
So now, I turn to the folks here as my saving grace. With the exception of having to buy a new printer which is out of the question at this point in time, how did anyone else fix this Mavericks mess?

"Not recognized" doesn't really explain exactly when/where you have a problem. What drop down list are you referring to?
    Install this driver download:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
    Now, reset the printing system.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14141
Now Add the printer using IP address and HP Jetdirect protocol.
If the correct driver doesn't show up, you can try generic HP PCL 5.

  • ICloud Control Panel does not recognize Outlook

I installed the iCloud Control Panel but it doesn't seem to be recognizing Outlook.  In the Control Panel header, it says "Install Outlook to use Mail, Contacts and Calendars.  Outlook 2010 is installed and the iCloud Outlook Add-In is installed and running.

I have the same setup as sceloglaux (Win 7 64 bit Home, iPhone 3GS, Outlook 2010).
I tried a reboot, uninstall, reboot again, disable and close anything I can, then reinstall. Still the same problem.
Athough I'm not sure if I got this message before:
    Outlook Setup Error
Your setup couldn't be started because of an unexpected error.
Clicking the report button brings up my profile dialog box, then I choose my profile and it just goes back to the error dialog. Try again does the same thing.
sceloglaux - it sounds like you got it working. Care to enlighten us on what steps you took?
Do I need to have an me.com e-mail account set up first? I don't want to sync e-mail, just calendar and contacts. I tried setting up e-mail in case that's the missing link, but I'm having trouble with that as well (separate thread, probably server issues).
    Thanks.

  • 80gb Classic won't sync or charge; "USB Device Not Recognized"

I have an 80gb classic, and a 5th gen. 30gb ipod both with the same issue. I recently rebuilt mine and my husband's computers with new MB's and Processors. I reformatted the HDD's and then installed all necessary drivers and the like along with the newest itunes 9. My ipods had no previous problems and worked like a charm 5 mins earlier.
I hooked them up to my computer and windows came up with an error message saying "USB Device Not Recognized...one of the usb devices has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it." I put in my other ipod, same error message.
I have tried everything to fix this including, unplugging all usb's but ipod and trying all usb ports, reinstalling usb drivers, switching to 1.1, uninstalling itunes completely and using older versions 5-8, wiping OS and installing vista instead of XP, putting ipod into disk mode, resetting ipod numerous times, among some other things. This error message comes up on all computers in the house (4) including ones that have not been wiped or upgraded.
In addition to windows and itunes not seeing it, it will not charge via USB or wall AC power. The Ipods are devoid of charge now, but when they were full on battery life they still played music through headphones and stereo with no issues, they just won't do anything computer related it seems.
I have not given up hope because I have about 20gb of music and vids I foolishly didn't back up and I want it back. How is this possible that 2 ipods were fine one second then broken the next? Please, Please, Please need help.

I have a Dell Laptop that I've been synching my iPhone with for six months. Now all of the sudden the connection has been lost. I'm having the same problem as you describe and have tried everything I have seen on this forum and elsewhere to fix it, but nothing is working.
I think it is an issue with the driver, but I have confirmed that usbaapl.sys driver is installed in "Program Files," "Common Files," "Apple," "Mobile Device Support" folder. I tried copying the driver and putting it in the main Apple folder, but that doesn't help either. I have tried removing and reinstalling iTunes multiple times, rebooting my iPhone and computer (many, many times). I've tried updating the driver and pointing the USB device directly to the driver, but it does not see it. The strange thing is that when my iPhone is plugged in, it charges just fine. It just won't connect to iTunes or synch with my outlook anymore.
Does anyone have any suggestions? This is a major issue for me as I have to synch calendars to be able to function between work and home. Doubly frustrating that it used to work and now it does not. The only thing that has changed is that I installed printer software and updated iTunes. No other changes to my computer that I am aware of between when it worked and now.

  • Sprint Palm 755p IMAP Folders not recognized on server

My phone will check for email and then give me an error that the folders are not recognized on the server.  I host my own email through Register.com and my own domain.  The settings should be correct b/c when I am in the email program of my phone--drop down menu--snych server folders--the phone tells me that Folders-Draft, Trash, sent are not recognized.  I press "ok" and another pop up screen asks me to check the folders to sych.  My only choice is "Inbox" which is already checked.  I press OK and my phone gets my emails.  I cannot simply press "get" from my email program to have the phone get my email.
How do I set up my phone so that it recognizes what folders are needed to access email?  Also, from my email program, I have teh choice to look in the Inbox, outbox, drafts, sent, junk email folders, but I can also edit these folders.  Should they have to be edited so that they match teh folders from my email account?
I used to use pop settings with no problems at all.  Since I changed email hosts adn switched to IMAP, email does not work at all from phone.  Any help is appreciated.  I have been on the phone for about 5 hours between Register.com, Sprint and Palm...to no avail...

I think IMAP settings should be the same between VersaMail and your desktop mail client for the same account (e.g., Outlook Express, Thunderbird). If the desktop mail client works and the device does not, I wonder whether Sprint has some special requirements for access through its network?
