Not Required Main Work Centre on Order Header Maintenance Order
Hi Experts,
I want to know about main work center on order header maintenance order. Standart SAP is main work center required, and i want to set main work center on order header is not required. How Can i set Main Work center on order header is not required?

Main workcenter is the responsible workcenter in a order and is used as a reporting selection criteria in major reports(IW38/IW39/IW28/IW29/IW68/IW69 etc). From it also the responsible cost center gets derived. Also it gets copied to the Performing workcenter fields of each operations. So why you dont wants it to be used. It can be maintained as master data in technical objects & gets copied to notifications/orders while creation

Difference in Main work centre and Operation workcentre
Hello PM Gurus,
In CS order, we have two work centres. One at header level called as Main work centre and another at operation level.
Why do we have two work centres. The one at operation level itself should have been enough.
There is a main work centre at functional location too ( Organisation tab). So what is the connection if we use this functional location as the reference while creating a CS order.
Please reply soon.

The work center at haeder i.e., Main Work Center is the reponsible work center(say a department). It means it takes the reponsibility of the whole job mentioned in that work order(or job given by production dept.). Now, assume , it further distributes the whole work to its own sub-dept or different work centers as per nature of job. Say, electrical related work to elec work centers etc., by ,means of assigning to different operations.
The Main work center's cost center will be copied as responsible cost center in Additional data TAB of the order.Now thus you see commercially the responsibility of doing the job lies with the responsible cost center (or say Main work center).

Difference between PP work Centre and Main work centre in a floc ?

Can someone tell me the difference between the PP work centre in the location tab of a functional location compared to the Main Work Centre listed in the Organizational tab ?

The way I understand it, is that the main work centre (Field name: GEWRK) in the organizational tab refers to the actual group who are reponsible for carrying out the maintenance of the object. Costing and capacity planning is carried out through this Work Centre. However the PP Work Centre (Field name: ARBPL) in the location tab is a different work centre. And I'm not sure what it controls (if anything). I think it refers to the location of the unit, but other than that I don't know what it controls. -

Inspection lot creation not required for intercompany Stock transfer order
Hi Team,
The client does not want system to create inspection lots for inter comapny STO. But for intra STO system does not create the inspection lot and thye are happy with it.
I have have flagged the indicator "QM not active' for the movement type
101 entry as below at transaction code OMJJ.
101 B(goods movement for Purchase Order) X(Stock Transport Order)
Even after flagging the above indicator, system is still creating the inspection lot at the time of GR for InterCC STO.
Are you aware any other place to control inspection lot creation for Inter company STO.

Z05 Goods Return Inspection(copy of 05)
Z09 Shelf life extension Inspection(copy of 09)
Z89 Inspection for Quality Assurance(copy of 89)
Z90 Goods Receipt for Trading goods( It is a copy of 01 inspection type)
There is no inspection type 08 active in the material .

We have prepared a tool for client, which create Maintenance Plan and order in the background.
The order created is having "Main Work Center" defined at header and "Work Center" at the operations level. In the current scenario the "Main Work Center" and "Work Center" are different say 'ABC' & u2018XYZu2019.
Client has the requirement that work center maintained at operations should be same as the main work center.
We need to implement the solution to take care of work center to be same as main work center while creation of the order in the background.
Has anyone worked on the similar requirement before?
I checked for existing USER EXITS for IW31/32/33 and found only one IWO10012. This doesnu2019t seem to be much useful.
Please suggest any possible solution.

Thanks for the response. The current situation is that we are creating the order in background using the Z-program. The scenario is creating order with operation entries having work center not equal to the main work center.
I am not functional, so just talking in terms of technical terms.
Is there a way the work center at operation level can be changed to main work center in background?

The work Center entered by default comes in operation work center, u can do validations while saving the Order :-using user exit : IWO10009 PM Order: Customer Check for 'Save' Event.

Settlment Cost element determined from work centre
Hi
I want to settle costs on plant maintenance orders to different type 21 cost elements depending on the main work centre on the order.
I understand that the ORDER TYPE can have different SETTLEMENT PROFILES and that these can determine the cost element to post to. HOWEVER the problem I have is I can not create new order types for this purpose (to much re-work).

I dont think so that in Standard setting you can assign Settlement profile by work center. Automatic assignment of settlement profile is possible by Order type . Manual assignment of settlement profile will also not work as in one PM order you may have mutiple operation which belongs to different work center.
So this looks very unique requirement and you will have to go for some development or user exit which can make you able to post the settlement based on Work center.

Results Recording Work List By Work Centre

Quite unique and interesting!
As per my knowledge there is no specific standard report for this. You may have to go with work around- Z report for this. I do have a suggestion. Just check whether feasible.
1. The date on which result recording is carried out gets stored in QAMR table. The field is QAMR-ERSTELLDAT.
2. Work centers 2 in number, means you are dealing with 2 operations.
3. The main task here I think, is to correlate inspection lot number with its work centers which is quite cumbersome, even if you try to link QALS, PLPO, CRHD tables with each other.
4. Node number in table QAMR (field VORGLFNR) is nothing but operation number. Instead of work center if you go with operation number as input, may serve the purpose.
5. Give input as inspection lot number, date of result recording QAMR-ERSTELLDAT and operation (optional)
6. For the given input date if you find any data in QAMR, you may conclude RR is carried out on this date.
7. Rest of the details (material code, material description, vendor etc) you can very well fetch once you know inspection lot number.

About Work Center : Work Center is a person, a group of persons, a machine or a group of machines.
Just understand the above lines. this is the basic defination of work center independent from any PP or PM work center.
Now, if work center is created to perform Maintenance tasks with * work center category 0005 * those work centers are called maintenance work centers.
( Generally persons or group of persons are created as work center in PM)
If work center is created to perform Production tasks with * work center category 0002 * those work centers are called PP work centers.
(Generally Machines or group of machines are created as work centers in PP)
In Plant maintenance, work centers can be defined in Hierarchy i.e. work center heirarchy is possible.
take an example: you have created a work center with a group of people. you need to define who would be person responsible for this group & also you can define the persons heirarchy with the integration of HR.( e.g. Manager-Senior Engineer- Engineer-Associate Engineer- Senior Fitter- Fitter)
The difference in one word is : Both are work centers but having different category & being used to perform different kind of tasks.
For the trasaction : i would only like to say that while creating from PM nodes by t-code IR01, system give you default work center category 0005.

Dear experts,
I face a problem that system get main work center from equipment master data as a default main work center in maintenance plan when creating maintenance plan. however, if main work center in equipment is changed later, the change will not synchronize to related maintenance plan. if work order is generated from maintenance plan, main work order in order is defaulted from maintenance plan instead of updated work center in equipment.
another problem is that, for those orders generated by maintenance plan, the work centers in operations is defaulted from task list in maintenance plan. in most case, work center in task list is dummy. Actually the work is done by work center in equipment master data.
My expectation is how to auto replace the main work center and work center of operations in work order with the one in equipment master data if order is generated by maintenance plan? is there any standard configuration or enhancement/BADi that can help with this requirement?

Sorry - development is the only way.
Another option is to create a batch program that runs before your IP30 run(s) and updates any maintenance items and task lists with the correct work centres.

Code in main does not require catch, but code in constructor does
this is the original program, its all in main. i took all the code out of main and put it in a constructor to make it more usable, and started making the necessary adjustments. i eventually got it to work but i had to catch exceptions EVERYWHERE. why does this code not require so many exceptions when the code is in main?

Work centre change in production order

During creation of production order, i want to change the work centre if in the existing operation, that particular work centre is overloaded.
Could any one let me know what are the steps involved in it.

Goto CM25 & select the Overload workcenter & underload workcenter .
Inside the planning tabel select the Operation from "Order (Pool) tabel" and drag manually to the "under load workcenter " displayed in upper table (workcenter) for required date. Now the operation workcenter has become changed & rescheduled.

Profile =standatd profile
Prod order box = select.
Give ur production order list & plant then excute. inside trhe report u can change the layout as u need

Incoming orders in COPA not working if Sales Order blocked for Credit Check
Hi all,
We need to build a report showing all incoming sales order by entry date and/or change date (change of values or quantities later on). COPA allows to do this, but the problem is that COPA line item table is only updated if the sales order is released from credit check (VKM3). I am looking for a solution to be able to record sales orders in COPA even if they are still blocked for credit check. By doing that we will be able to report all sales orders entered from COPA and provide basis for commissions calculation to the business.
I have investigated possible COPA enhancements like COPA0005 but it doesn't seem to be used at the time of sales order save.

As you said , the credit check in the service order is information message "Credit check (maximum percentage for ope
exceeded)" .
If you enter and come out this message then one more message will come , i.e., "The business transaction can not be carried out" detail message - System status CNOK is active (ORD XXXXXXX).
with the above message , system will not allow to do the Service order release.
In this particular case , we have done the VKM1 for the sales order to unblock the order from credit check . But again system is checking the credit check at service order (created w.r.t sales order) . we are not able to control this .
we also suggested the solution to the customer , saying removal of credit check for service orders . But customer requires credit check to happen at both the documents.
