Not right picture in imessage

I have installed Moutain Lion.
Before i have used Beta imessage with OSX Lion.Have removed Beta before upgrade to Mountain Lion.
Now after upgrade i am not able to get my picture i preferances.
I am stuck with the one i used with Beta.
And im not happy with this picture swat to change to what im using in my Iphone .
Happy for a extinguishing answer.

Hi,
Two ways that I know of.
1) TheSmokeMonster way (Change your Address Card entry)
2) Go to the Window Menu in Messages
Use CMD + 1 keys to open the Buddy List
Click the Buddy Pic
Chose new Pic from Recents or the option to Navigate your Hard Drive.
They can in fact be different
In my case my Pic in System Preferences > Users and Groups from my User Account is different again.
In iMessages to iPhone or iPads you will appear as the photo in their Contacts/Address Book (you don't send a Pic to them)

IPhone will not send pictures via iMessage

My iPhone 5 sends and receives text iMessages just fine, but I cannot send any pictures.
Whenever I try to send a picture, iMessage indicates at first that the picture has been "delivered". Then, about 10 seconds later, it changes the status to "not sent". The picture never goes through.   I can send the picture as an MMS/Text, just not as an iMessage.
I've tried resetting my carrier/network settings, turning off/on iMessage, rebooting the phone multiple times, removing the SIM card and everything else I can think of without any success.   Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do to fix it?

I had the same Problem with my iPad 4th Gen.
Here is the fix...
settings > iMessage > turn off
Now restart the phone, then back to settings > iMessage > turn it on
...and wait for iMessage to activate and check if you can send a pic.
It worked for me, I hope you get the same results.

My iPhone 5 will not send mms through iMessage, any help?

I have recently been abroad and since returning to the UK, my phone will not send pictures over iMessage, I never had this problem before travelling. I have my wifi switched on and I have checked my send and receive settings. I can receive picture messages through iMessages but cannot send them. The person I am sending them too has an iPhone and has their iMessage turned on, I have checked my updates and my phone does not need updating, I can not think of anything else it could be. I have also checked and I am able to send them through text just not iMessage. Any suggestions would be great!

Yes I have turned imessage off a number of times and that does not seem to he doing the trick, and it is not delivering them then I have to press on the photo and either chose try again or send as text message, I have had the setting on to not allow sending pictures as texts (so they can only send as imessage) since I got my phone in January and it has always worked until now, I have turned that off to allow me to send them as picture messages now but it's still not working over iMessage, I have also tried it using 3G and not wifi

IMessage on mac does not receive pictures

My iMessage on my mac book pro (Os X 10.9.2) does not receive pictures sent to me. It will receive screen shots, but not actual pictures taken by the phone or image files saved to the phone. I have tried the PRAM restart with no luck. Ideas??

Odd stuff first.
In the Contacts App > Card menu > Show My Card - is this your Info ?
Can you compare the Names that do show in Messages with those that do not in the Contacts App ?
For instance do the ones using Country Codes as part of the telephone Number Show up but ones that only use the local number (no Country code) do not ?
If this s the case check the System Preferences > Date and Time including the Time Zone as everything is time stamped.
Next go to the Messages app > Preferences > Accounts > iMessages Account > Details Button (you will be asked to sign in again).
Does this list the "right" Country or region (it is this that will add the county code to plain numbers and allow your Apple ID (or others) to work properly.
In System Preferences > Network > Advanced Button > DNS tab does it list DNS servers that are not on your LAN ?
Quite often it lists the router (192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x and occasionally 172.16.x.x through to 172.32.255.255) rather than external DNS servers.
It "should" show the ones the router lists in a greyed out form.
If not, copy the DNS servers across (from the router) or use Public ones.
If that does not work use th Finder > Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key and select the Library that appears.
Navigate to Preferences.
Find com.apple.iMessages.bag.plist and drag it to the Trash then Restart Messages.
This will force the app to reconnect to the iMessages Servers (and as there is a group of them you may well end up with a new server)

I keep getting a "not delivered" message when I try to send a picture through imessage

Over the last week each time I sent a picture in iMessage it goes out then I get a "Not Delivered" message. The other person gets the picture even though it says not delivered. I've shut iMessage off then back on, I've done a hard shutdown/restart. I'm not sure what else to do. Is anyone else having this issue and been able to resolve it?

Are you using Google Bookmarks rather than the built in Firefox bookmarks?
Google changed the login URL for Google accounts and the Google Toolbar addon needs to be fixed by Google to correct the URL it is trying to log in to.

Perhaps some more detail on how you have Messages set up would help in diagnosing your problem?
My response was simply to tell you that iMessage does work with photos in iOS 6.
There could be a transient problem with the iMessage servers which is causing your problem.

Pictures Through iMessage Claim to Not Send

I have multiple group chats with other Apple users without problem. Recently, when I attempt to send pictures (JUST PICTURES), they claim to have failed sending. When I ask the people in the chat, they say that they recieved the picture. The other people in the group chat say that this also happens to them. I'm just curious on why all of my devices (including my Macbook Pro and iPad Gen 2) are doing this. Example bellow.

Settings > Messages > Receive At > Apple ID.
Select your Apple ID and at the menu window that appears, select Sign Out.
Follow this by signing back in with your Apple ID to see if this makes any difference.

Why will pictures not go through as iMessage on my 4S?

Starting yesterday I notice that my 4S wouldn't send pictures through iMessage, it sent as a text. I have tried many things like turning off/on iMessage, reseting network settings, and rebooting the phone. I know it is the phone because my iPad will send pictures through iMessage. This is really irritating me because I don't know what is happening.

Yes, I can no longer send photos via imessage, it always fails then tries to send it as text. VERY annoying. Plain text seems to send via Imessage just fine. This just started pretty recently. I have tried resetting network connections as well.

Every time I try to change my picture on iMessage it only changes until I close out of it and then it reverts back to the default.
So I know I go to Message --> Change My Picture --> Defaults --> Done
Am I doing something wrong to where the picture won't stay permanently or missing a step?

Make the iTunes window wider.
It is on the far right.

New Adobe Photoshop elements 11-can not share pictures. I do use AOL email. Get error of "Elements 11 Organ. has stopped working, I have looked into sharing tab and my only option is Adobe email settings. I do have outlook set up to work on computer run

IPad not receiving pictures

My iPad is not receiving pictures it shows the blue iMessage bubble with a question mark. Help!

Try turning off iMessage, Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).
Wait a few minutes after the phone restarts and turn iMessage back on.

I cannot send pictures using iMessage or MMS to just 1 contact.

No, the contact is my wife who is using her iPad over wifi. This problem only started about 4 weeks ago. I can send messages with iMessage but not pictures. Never had a problem before that. It just seems strange that she is the only contact I cannot send pictures to.
