Not seeing printer

This is my first mac - I still would like to use my HP Laserjet 2100. It says it cannot find printer. I've downloaded driver/software from HP for Mac but still no luck. I'm connected to printer with USB. On a try or two it seemed to print but all that came out is blank paper with numbers on it. The printer is suppose to be compatible with Mac. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rendezvous does not see printer

Hi,
One of the MACs sharing a usb printer on a AEBS network does not see the printer in Rendezvous. All the other computers printing through the AEBS can do so with no problems. OS is OS X 10.2.8.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

I'd be interested in seeing any responses here from others using a Mac running MacOS 10.2.8 to print via an Airport Extreme Base Station. It is my impression that firmware versions 5.5 and newer for the Airport Extreme Base Station have give many users of pre-MacOS 10.3 Macs problems with printing.

Not seeing printer through airport

So here's my current setup. My Internet comes in to my DSL Modem..which is hooked up to a 4 port router. My router has two iMacss hardwired to the first two ports, and my airport is hooked up to the 3rd open port. My HP 1310 all in one is hooked up to one of my hardwired iMacs through USB. I've checked th Shared box for the 1310, but only the other iMac that's hardwired through the router is able to see the printer. My ibook that is connected to the internet via airport is not able to see the shared 1310. I've turned appletalk through ethernet through both of the hardwired imacs, and i've got appletalk activated through the airport for my ibook. Why can't my iBook see the shared 1310 printer. they're all connected to the same router essentially (2 hardwired and 1 via airport). If anyone has any answers PLEASE HELP...thanks in advanced.

This problem is easily solved by disabling the router built into the Airport Express. Run the Airport Admin Utility, select your Base Station, click Configure, click the Network tab, and uncheck the setting to "Distribute IP addresses". Update settings to the Airport Express. Finally (and very important) restart all wireless computers. That's it.

Macbook w/10.6.8 not seeing print server

So here's the problem with 2 of my macbooks with 10.6.8 on it. We recently set up a new print server and is working for all of our other laptop of same the vintage except for 2 of them. I've redone there network settings-that's fine. I've rebound them to our network-that's fine too. I've reset the print system-that's worked perfectly with all of the other laptops except these 2. I've cleared the MCX cache. Deleted CIJScannerRegister.plist. I've even reset the pram and smc just to be complete about it but still none of the printers for that building show up (that do show up for all the other laptop of same model and also 10.6.8)
What am i missing?
Also, i've verified that the 2 laptops are indeed in the correct print group in WGM.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with printing from 2 of your MacBooks. You have taken some really good troubleshooting steps already. I found an article with a few additional steps you can take. I recommend following the steps below (you can skip the steps you have already taken):
Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again. Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.
Additional Information
Note: If your printer is wireless-capable, you should first add the printer to your network. Use the printer's control panel, or temporarily connect the printer to your Mac via USB. For more details, see this article.

AirPort Extreme does not see printer, hard drive, AirPort Express!

I just got an AirPort Extreme (802.11n), to replace my AirPort Express. I have a Brother 665CW wireless all-in-one printer, which had worked perfectly but now I cannot find it. I have also hooked my USB hard drive into the Extreme. I can see the hard drive in the AirPort Utility, but I don't know how to find it from my iBook. I'd also like to put the Express in another room to use the AirTunes feature. Unfortunately, almost nothing is working!
Here is how it's set up:

iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I had problems adding Airport expresses using Airport Utility. However I found it worked fine if I used the manual set-up option and not the Assist me option.
Reset the airport express then, in manual set-up, set the express to 'join an airport network' add the airport network password and see if that works

HP 8600 Printer Will not see printer when scanning.

I am using an HP 8600 Printer. It is connected to my computer and prints just fine. I am also able to scan from my computer. However, when I go to the printer and select "scan" then "computers" my computer is not listed. I never had a problem with it until now. I can from my computer scan a document, but not from the printer itself. Why is that and why will the printer not list my computer. It does not make any sense!

No the other computer is running Widows 7. The one I am having a problem with is running Vista. It worked before and now it doesn't. All items in Network Sharing Center and "On". Next suggestion! Thanks for all your help by the way. I don't know what else to try. : (

Mac-connected with USB - RFU LOAD ERROR-send RFU UPGRADE - Mac will not see printer driver

Here's another question about this seemingly well-worn path. I've been researching this issue for about 5 hours and have only found a couple of solutions that are purported to work.
I have an apple laptop running 10.9.4 (mavericks). My 5200tn was formatting some print output differently than the HP driver suggested that it would (landscape vs portrait etc). The first tier tech person at HP suggested that I need a firmware update.
BIG mistake. It appears that the mac and the firmware update do NOT play well together.
I tried using the driver to 'upload file' with the latest firmware. I simply got the 'beach ball' on the mac for a long long time.
I powercycled the printer and now I have this common status message - RFU LOAD ERROR etc. NOW the printer can't be seen by the mac. Any suggestions? I tried a cold reset - no luck. I tried to reset VRM - no luck.

I do not see print dialog when I click File Print and thus cannot select a different printer from previous printing.

When I click File Print, no dialog appears. Instead, printing starts immediately so, I don't get to select a printer. At some point in the distant past (with a previous version of Firefox, maybe), the dialog must have appeared I must have chosen the Office Onenote printer. Now, whenever I print a web page, Firefox always uses that printer.
I can change to another printer by editing the config file but, I have to do that every time I want to change printers. That's a bit cumbersome. Is there any way to force the print dialog to open when I click File Print so that I can chose a printer that way?
I am using Firefox 3.6.3 with Windows XP SP3.

I was having this issue, first when trying to "Run" and then after saving the exe and trying from the desktop.
To solve it, I simply right-clicked the exe and clicked Run As Administrator. Its installing as I type.

The Mozilla WHITE start page is blocking the upper left Firefox to Print to Print Preview, so i can not see what is on the Printer Glass

The BIG WHITE MOSTLY BLANK , MOZILLA START PAGE was blocking my use of PRINT PREVIEW, from the orange "Firefox" in the upper left corner.
I was told i was using an out of date version of Firefox.
But no "click here to update".
So i downloaded the new edition of Firefox.
And still, i can not see PRINT PREVIEW, because the large white screen of the MOZILLA START PAGE is blocking it.
I have selected a background wallpaper, so would rather not see ANY of the BIG WHITE START PAGE, at all !!

My computer does not see my printer

Hi: I am having a problem with my HP Photosmart 4500 printer. My computer does not see it. I have a USB connected to it, have uninstalled and installed the software two time, dowloaded the latest update and nothing. Add to that, I can not connect it by WIFI. WIFI on the printer is on but again, it's no where on any of the screens. The only variable I can think of that has changed has been the router I got recently from AT&T. Everything else works with the WIFI but no computer. I'm running 10.7.5. I have read the install instructions and nothing seems to be working. The one thing I do get from the HP install disc is a message reading the printer isn't recognized but there are no updates in support. OK, what am I missing here?

Try these steps to uninstall the current software using the HP scrubber and then reinstall using the current HP driver available through Apple.
To do so, perform the following steps:
1. Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard/ and then click on “HP Uninstaller”
2. Next click “Continue”
3. Highlight the device on the left pane.
4. Press and hold control+alt+command on the keyboard simultaneously while you click on “Uninstall”.
5. After you do this, you will see a pop up that asks you if you want to uninstall all HP software. Please note, that in doing this, it will remove any other HP printers that you also have installed.
6. Click “continue” and wait for the program to finish.
7. After it completes, reboot your computer.
Once the computer is back on, do the following steps:
WARNING: This is will delete all of your printers.
1. Go into “System Preferences” and then select either “Print & Scan” or "Print & Fax".
2. Right click (or control + click) on the rectangle listing your printers and then select “Reset Printing System”.
After you have reset the printing system, let's make sure you have the most recent HP driver package installed.
You can do this two ways. First, check for any available HP Update's by clicking the Apple icon and then Software Update. If there are any updates available, they should show up here. However, if the printer is connected by USB, it will not show any available updates. The other option is downloading the drivers from Apple's website.

Once you have downloaded the driver package and completed the installation, you will want to plug your printer back in (if you were using a USB connection). After the printer is plugged back in, go into your print settings under System Preferences > Print & Scan. To add the printer, click the plus sign. You should see your printer listed here. If not, click "Add Printer or Scanner." Click the name of your printer and then click "Use:” box. Make sure that says the name of your printer and not AirPrint. If you are using the printer wirelessly, make sure that the printer "Kind:" is set to Bonjour or Bonjour Multifunction. Click "Add" down in the bottom right hand corner.
This will add your printer back using the most recent HP print driver available through Apple. Let me know if this helps resolve your issue or not. If it doesn't, let me know I will see what else I can do.

Numbers doesn't have pages. It has a canvas that holds objects such as tables and charts.
Drag the objects from the bottom of the canvas onto the white space above. That will reduce the number of "pages" (sheets of paper) that will print.
