Not seeing thumbnails of pages in Folio Producer

For some reason, I am not seeing any breakdown of the articles in the Folio Producer. Anyone know why? This is all that I see...

Hi,
As Lohrii mentions thumbnail preview is not supported on PDF articles, uploading the articles as PNG/JPEG will show the thumbnails.
Thanks,
O'Neal

I have paid for an iPad magazine subscription, but I can not see all the pages of the first issue I just got.  All I'm getting is the free preview.  I contacted the magazine publisher, IPC, who said to contact Itunes, where I do not see an answer.

  • I am reading in ibooks and i do not see how many pages there are or what page i am on. how do i fix this

i am reading in ibooks and i do not see how many pages there are or what page i am on. how do i fix this

Some books may not display a page number on each page, or the position indicator, because the author did not include them.
Most basic books resembling paperbacks that are mostly words (like Kindle books) will display these because they are so basic
that iBooks knows they need to have that information superimposed, so it just does it.
For more advanced books, the people who made the book may elect to not display page numbers for some or all of the pages.
What book are you reading, and have you looked at another book and had the same problem?

  • Thumbnail View in DPS Folio Producer: Editor

    Hi,
When will the thumbnail view for PDF folios become available in the DPS Folio Producer: Editor? This feature is waiting since a very long time to be implemented.
Or switch at least the behavior so the list view opens by default. Or remove the thumbnail view.
    –Yves

I'll pass the suggestions along to the Folio Producer team, thanks.

  • DPS: pinch and zoom function not working on all pages within folio (v30 tools using the pdf setting). What would cause some pages to pinch and zoom fluidly, while other pages appear a bit sticky? Could it be a button on the wrong layer?

What would cause some pages in the same folio to pinch and zoom fluidly, while other pages appear a bit sticky? Could it be a button on the wrong layer that's not allowing the pinch and zoom to work?
I do have a "go to state" button that enlarges graphic to full page on the page. Could this be cancelling the pinch and zoom functionality? Would a box with text wrap ON affect the ability to pich and zoom? What else may be causing this?

  • Not seeing thumbnails or preview images...

I recently upgraded with a new installation of CS5 on a new iMac 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 of memory.  On my older, smaller, and slower iMac (about a 1 1/2 year older machine - do not have the specs handy) I was using Bridge CS4 without any issues what so ever and am familiar with using it, so I know that this is not normal.  Bridge shows it is creating previews, but it sits there and sits there, working and working and nothing draws.  This is getting frustrating as I have grown accustomed to using Bridge and its many wonderful features (over an old version of iView).
Does anyone know of any issues such as this?  Is there a solution?
I have tried to dump the cache and that gets me no where.  It sits on that, I have to opt, cmd, esc and force quit it.  At that point I also see that Bridge is not responding.  Also, I have not changed any preferences since the original install.  I am running it default.

Okay, very weird.  But I just tried to dump the cache again before making the original post and I had to force quit Bridge.  Opened it up again after making the post and thumbnails and previews are flying up on the screen now.
Go figure!  So I guess for now, problem solved.

  • Configure the Guest to NOT see the login page?

I'm trying to get my portal to allow the guest user to see their default community (as set inthe default subportal).
I can't get it to do anything other than show the login screen.
On a .Net portal, the n_config.xml seems to be the key file, but I can't figure out what it is looking for ... what are the possible values?
In this context, what is a "space"? Is it a community ID, an activity space, or other?
How are values configured? Replace the value="", or does it go between the propertie's tags? (<AllowGuestAccess value="1"></AllowGuestAccess>, or <AllowGuestAccess value="1">1</AllowGuestAccess>)
<Authentication> <!-- Allow the Guest user to access the portal. If guest access is disallowed, the portal will always prompt for login information. --> <AllowGuestAccess value="1"></AllowGuestAccess> <!-- This is the password for the Guest user. --> <GuestPassword value=""></GuestPassword> <!-- If the guest user does not specify a space, the user will normally go to their default page. If this is 1, the guest user will go to the login page. --> <GuestRedirectToLogin value="1"></GuestRedirectToLogin> </Authentication>

    Hi Javier,
You're right -- the Login space is always accessible if you type space=Login, even if you're using SSO and you follow all of developersupport's suggestions. Of course, you already have to be logged in to get there, so the risk is minimal, however, it allows you to "su" to another user (including Administrator) as long as you know the password.
One of our customers thinks this is a major security hole and as a result, we've hacked the LoginView to automagically log you out and redirect you to a protected resource, which forces another SSO login. That's the only thing I could think to do to plug the hole. If any Plumtreevians are listening to this thread, it would be great to get a real fix for this into your next release.
If anyone has any better suggestions, I'm all ears.

  • Folio Producer Thumbnail List Thumbnail image does not appear.

Folio Producer Site > Folio Producer Editor
    Thumbnail view from the list,
    Thumbnail image does not appear.
    Why is that?

HTML articles and InDesign articles that use JPEG or PNG image format display thumbnail images in the Folio Producer Editor. However, no thumbnails appear in articles that use the PDF image format.

  • Pages of Folio have disappeared in DPS Folio Producer: Organizer

    Hi there,
We designed our latest magazine issue and by default it was set to version 20. It was showing up fine at this point in the DPS Folio Producer Organizer. When we updated to the latest software we had quite a few issues, so in trying to fix those issues we updated the version of the folio to version 24. Now none of our pages are showing up in the DPS Folio Producer Organizer and our new issue is simply an empty shell (In the DPS Folio Producer Organizer, not in indesign though). I have updated all of the articles individually, but it's still saying our folio is empty on the DPS Folio Producer Organizer. What am I doing wrong? What can we do to fix it?

    Thank you for your replies.
It does list all of the articles, yes. Just no thumbnails.
We didn't export anything to PDF - they are all still indesign files...why would it have changed to PDF? Will the issue still work when submitting it to apple, if you can't see the thumbnails in the DPS folio producer organizer?

  • Announcement (January 16) - Folio Producer tools update

Digital Publishing Suite will be releasing new features and functionality Monday January 16 at 5:00 PM Pacific Coast time and Tuesday January 17 at noon. While the acrobat.com server is being updated, you may not be able to use the Folio Producer tools. New features include embedded overlays in slideshows, enhanced buttons that support sound/video actions, article relink, PDF pinch and zoom with all overlays, custom-created Adobe Content Viewer, and more. I'll post a more complete list after the update, or you can look at What's new in this release when help is updated.
Again, note that there are two separate installers: one for the Folio Producer tools and one for the Folio Builder panel. If you created a custom viewer using a previous set of tools and don't want to update your viewer app, install only the Folio Builder panel to stay in sync with the updated web client. If you want to update all your tools, install the Folio Producer tools first, and then install the Folio Builder panel. For this release, updating the Folio Builder panel is recommended but not required. See Installing digital publishing tools.
The v18 file format is a change from the previous file format, so any folio you create with the newest set of tools will not work with the current Adobe Content Viewer (2.2) or with custom viewer apps. Trying to open a folio results in a "Please update your app" message. However, if you have a Professional or Enterprise account, you can use the Viewer Builder to create a custom version of the Adobe Content Viewer so that you don't have to wait for Apple to approve. If you do not have a Pro or Enterprise account, you may want to wait until Apple approves the new viewer before you update your Folio Producer tools.

That's exactly why you should NOT have upgraded your tools !
You should have waited until you can work your way back from the end of the workflow (wait for your own or at least Adobe's upgraded and submitted Viewer to appear on the App Store), to the Folio's and Tools for InDesign (with new technical features) in the front of the workflow.

  • DPS Folio producer / Organizer: library filters

    Hello,
It would be great to be able to fill the "library filter" with several items in Folio Producer.
    Thanks.

    Thank you for your replies.
It does list all of the articles, yes. Just no thumbnails.

  • Cannot see thumbnails of PEF in bridge

I just installed PSE 8 for Mac on my iMac.  When using bridge CS4 that installed with it, I can open my Pentax RAW files, but I cannot see thumbnails prior to that.  I just see the PEF icon.  Is there an update that didn't install?  As it is, it's nearly useless.

Just a heads-up for others who might read this... I recently installed PS CS5, Lightroom 3, and ACR.  At first when I opened Bridge or Lightroom I was not seeing thumbnails for my pentax .PEF files.  Then I went to adobe updates and got the latest ACR plugin update, and it included my camera, Pentax K-5.  That was the missing step and now thumbnails show up in all adobe views of my photos.  They still don't show in Windows but that's fine.

  • Folios Not Appearing in the Folio Producer

Neil Enns - Adobe - branching this issue into a new discussion from original over at:
Re: Use Preview on Device for Android on Mac - how to make it working?
Our issues of not being able to preview on android seem to be caused by an issue with our folio producer.
Currently we are only seeing a single old folio in the producer, none of the new folios we have created this year are appearing in our producer.
We have tested logins etc. but we really only have one email associated with all of our DPS accounts, and this was the only account we could successfully log with. Even clicking the "Folio Producer" option in the folio builder panel menu only displays that single folio.
When creating our folios, we have never checked the "Create Offline Folio" option.
From what I have read, it sounds like the folios should be automatically uploaded to the producer. Is that correct?
Aside from login / credential issues is there anything that would prevent our folios from appearing in the producer??
(Certificates or provisioning or anything like that?)
    Thanks in Advance.

Sorry... just thought I would just be super clear on some of the details.
    1) Logins are all consistent, across the board. - DPS App (InDesign) / Builder Panel / Content Viewer / Folio Producer -  We only have a single account that will actually allow us to log in to all these services, so as far as I can tell it's not a log in issue.
    2) Folios have all been produced as "online" ie. when we create the folio, we are NOT checking the "Create Offline Folio" option. (This is un-checked as the default)

  • Folio Builder and Folio Producer not syncing

    Hi,
I've been trying to update my folio and the version in folio producer is not syncing with the version in the folio builder panel in InDesign. I am trying to update so I can preview my content in Adobe Content Viewer. It was working fine as of last Friday (9/6/13) but I've had trouble since I've tried starting Monday (9/9/13) to update. I see that the server was restarted on 9/9 (http://status.adobedps.com/) but  I am still having issues. When I click on the Folio Producer option in the Folio Builder panel flyout it takes me to Folio Producer in the browser but does not login.
I would appreciate any help resolving as soon as possible.
    Thanks.

I have not tryed pushing it manually to my device. However, I just discovered Folio Producer and the Folio Builder panel sync is functioning properly. It seems the issue is instead with Adobe Content Viewer. I read the troubleshooting tips here: http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/troubleshoot-content-viewer-digital-pub lishing.html#main_Folio_appears_in_Folio_Builder_Panel_and_Folio_Producer__but_not_in_Adob e_Content_Viewer under "Folios appears in Folio Builder panel and Folio producer but not in Adobe Content Viewer" and ensured that none of the bullet points are the problem. Could this be a server issue? If pushing it to my device locally is the best workaround, which file do I transfer? Please advise.
Also, I have another issue when I try to submit to Apple: "the binary is not executable" when I upload the zip file. I posted as a separate discussion thread (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1292215?tstart=0) but no one has addressed. Can you please look into that issue as well?
    Thanks for your help!
