Not showing pictures.

When I take pictures on my phone, I can't see them until I sync my phone to my computer, even if I go into ' Photos ' all I see is pictures I took weeks ago. What should I do?

Photos captured by your iPhone are not included with the iTunes sync process except for being included with your iPhone's backup that is created and maintained by iTunes as the first step during the sync process.
Photos captured by your iPhone are imported by your computer as with any other digital camera, and as with any other digital camera, the photos can be deleted from your iPhone's camera roll after the import process is complete.
So try deleting all photos from your iPhone's camera roll after the photos are imported by your computer. Depending on what you are using for the import, it should include an option to delete the photos from your iPhone's camera roll after the import process is complete.
After all existing photos are deleted from your iPhone's camera roll after being imported, test if this resolves the problem.

Aperture 3 Not Showing Pictures in Edit But Otherwise OK

Hi,
Aperture 3 is not showing pictures in the edit screen. Previews are ok. Moreover, when I zoom in in the edit window, pictures are showing correctly. Also they are shown a second after an adjustment is applied (and, actually, if you hold the slider you can see the picture the whole time). It exports fine.
I've tried:
repairing permissions;
repairing database;
rebuilding database;
creating a new library and importing;
manually repairing the library as per https://discussions.apple.com/message/11700059#11700059
re-installing Aperture;
reparing permissions system-wide.
Nothing helps. I don't have the backup, obviously. System is Macbook Air 1.7 GHz i5, 4Gb.
Could anyone, please, help?

OK first off the procedure you referenced re: manually trying to rebuild a library is a last ditch, library is on fire, crashes the world procedure. It is never to be done as a first wave troubleshooting step and it is never to be done without a complete backup of the library. Hopefully that hasn;t added anything to the problem.
Ok that's out of the way. You should start by removing the filter you have on the browser. It's most likely not causing this but there is no need for it and it's only adding a layer of complexity we don;t need now.
What version of Aperture? If it is 3.2.3 (the latest from yesterday) did this start happening the? If it is not the latest you should upgrade.
Does this happen with all images in the library or only some? What type of images RAW or JPG?
If you create a new empty library and import a few images into it does the problem still happen? What if you make a new user and run Aperture as that user on a new library?
When did the problem start? Was it working OK before with this library?
Finally have you rebooted since this problem started?

I have read your post on how your video will not show picture, but the audio will work on your Windows 8.1 computer. Does the video appear and then disappear using media player software? Does this occur when streaming videos on YouTube? Did you perform Windows or HP updates before this issue occured? Does the entire screen go blank, turn a different color or just show blank on the video window you are attempting to view? I would be happy to help you, but first I would encourage you to post your product number for your computer. After an update sept 2013 camera not showing picture ipad 4 retina display

I updated as requested last night 23rd September 2013 IOS7 on my IPAD4 Retina display. The camera does not show a picture and appears to be locked . Very annoying as I don't want to do a factory reset. Can anyone help a senior citizen please without being too technical. Thanks in anticipation

I did the reset, it's still not working. My iPad is totally new, and I got the same problem.

HTLM Web Gallery not showing pictures

When I upload from Bridge the web gallery it doesn't show the pictures? Yet, when I export the HTML web gallery to my hard drive it does. Any ideas?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. By not showing up do you mean the gallery is no longer listed in under the Gallery section on the left of the pictures in the gallery are showing a blank window with an "!" in the middle?

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Mac Pro DVD player not showing picture, only audio

When playing a DVD, my DVD player on Mac Book Pro does not show the picture, you only hear the audio. Any ideas?

FF will not show pictures in Ebay and Amazon BUT OK in IE8

I have winXP pro on 3 machines all the same problem.
I can have the same window open in both programmes.
IE8 / IE7 shows pictures
FF4 says pictures not available

You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
* Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
* Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
* Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
* Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
* Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
* If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block images.

IBooks do not show pictures since upgrading to iOS5

Downloaded 'Steve Jobs' and no pictures were showing. Then checked other iBooks and realised existing books also do not display pictures since loading iOS5

Have tried re-booting the iPad and deleting iBooks from App bar. Still no joy. Any one come acroos and fixed this?

Icloud stream not showing pictures on Iphone or PC but fine on ipad

Hi,
I have an IPAD2 and have put lots of pictures on it which show as being updated/uploaded and put into my Icloud storage space.
I can view the photos fine on the IPAD.
However, i can't access them on my PC in the Icloud folder. Only about 80 pictures of the 1000 are visible.
I have also just purchased an Iphone 5C. I can only view 5 pictures in the photostream
Any ideas how to fix this?

Hi, Im kinda having the same problem. When I purchase songs they are not showing up in my purchased folder. They are on my phone but not in my purchased folder. Im not sure how to fix it so they show up, but if anyone knows how to fix your problem then maybe it can help with mine. And if anyone kno0ws how to help me with my issue than maybe it can help you. If i find out a fix Ill let you know.

Contact card in mac messages not showing picture

One of my contacts in Messages on Yosemite just shows the initials instead of their contact picture.
When I click on the name in the right pane in Messages, I can select "Show Contact Card".
The Contact Card also shows the initials in place of the contact image.
In the contact card, I click Open With Contacts.
The Contacts app opens and shows me the user's address book card, which shows the contact has a picture assigned.
The user in Messages is referred to by their email address *****@aol.com.
The email address and phone number for this user do not have duplicate entries in my contacts.
Other users do not have this issue.

The user had more than one instance of the same email. Apparently that confused Messages. When I removed one of them, the image showed just fine as expected.

Iphoto event not showing pictures

I had to restore from Time Machine my entire disk. However, since I have done the restore one event in Iphoto appears with no thumbnails and is grey yet all others are fine. When I open the grey event, all other photos in that event are blank (Grey) and I cannot select the individual pictures or videos. The metadata about the photo is still there (eg file name, date...)
I tried rebuilding the thumbnail cache by doing the CMD Option and selecting the first option but that did not work. Any Ideas? I'm concerned about going further and destroying my other events.

Control-click on one of the thumbnails of a missing photo and select "Show File" from the contextual menu. That should take you to the folder in the Finder that contains the file. If it does then you need to fix the database file for the library. If there's not file found the original files are missing.
If the files are found then launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed to rebuild the library. Select the *+last three options+*.

If that doesn't help rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:

1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be untouched for further attempts at fixing or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Mail not showing pictures

Mail recently stopped showing the pictures in older emails, just a blue box with a question mark. I can't seem to find any pattern, some are there, some are not. The same account some are some aren't the same sender to the same address, some are, some aren't... Why has this just started and how do I fix it?

Are some of these email in HTML format ?
These can tend to have the pics sent from a server and at some point they may no longer be kept on that server.

How do I NOT show pictures in mail?

My supervisor doesn't want attached pictures to show up in email when he receives them. He'd rather them show as attached files with the small icon at the top of the email. Is there a way to do this? He said if he wants to print out an email it prints the picture(s) too and he only wants it to print out the text of the email.
Also, he wants pictures to show up as file attachments when he sends email. Right now if we choose "Attach" and choose a jpeg it shows the pic in the body of the email. We'd rather just have it show up as a file attachment icon.

Your technique works fine for converting an attached file to an icon unless or until you actually mail it. Then the recipient sees it as the picture (at least I did in a test mailing to myself using Mail).
However, it could be useful when the user wishes to print either a composed or a received e-mail and does not want to print the picture or remove the attachment from the e-mail prior to printing.
I guess the zip method may be the only native Mac way of making sure the icon remains an icon.

Built-In isight not showing picture

**Please Help!**
I have a built-in isight camera that is not working at the moment. I have tried everything that apple tells you about troubleshooting isight, created new account, repair permissions, empty caches, but nothing worked. Could not find isight preferences to delete.
When I open, say PhotoBooth, Skype, ichat, my camera turns on (LED green light is on) but no picture is showing up. Do not know if there us a setting that turns the image off and i might have somehow or what. It was working one day and the next nothing.
Does anyone have any solutions for this problem?

Ok, so i found the answer by calling apple support.
They told me to
1. Shut off the computer.
2. Turn on the computer.
3. RIGHT AFTER you turn on the computer, simeltaneously hold down the command, option, 'p', and 'r' keys. This will reset the computer. You want to reset your computer two times, for a total of three start-ups (or three biiiiings that you hear at the start of the computer.) DO NOT LET GO OF THE KEYS UNTIL the third biiiing (or startup sound)!
Once you hear that third biiiiing, just let the computer do its normal startup cycle. This process resets the perimeter RAM, which is used by applications such as safari and ichat.

Camera was showing my picture on purchase, but now not.

I have updated my mac softwares...operating system is now Tiger 4.7...and have Apperture....

I don't know what was missing from the first delta (software update of non-combo updater) for 10.4.7 : http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2633936 , it's not a known issue w/ that update, but if turning off your machine or the normal resets (pram, PMU) don't work then trying the combo update or the new delta might do something. Kinda doubt it, but if all else fails it's worth a shot. Green lines in video are usually a sign of a bad connector or not enough power.
