Not showing the partation on macbook desktop
i partation the harddisk in macbook pro but the partation is not showing on desktop . how i show the partation on desktop??
Click on the Desktop anywhere, then select preferences from the Finder's Finder menu. Click on the General icon in the toolbar. Check the boxes needed to display hard disks, etc.
Be sure the partition you created was made properly. It must be formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled.

iCloud is only available in Lion, 10.7. You will have to upgrade to Lion in order to get into iCloud. If you transfered a .mac or .me address to iCloud through mobile me, or you have another device iCloud enabled, then you can log into the iCloud.com website.

My iPod touch doesn't show up in my macbook desktop. This prevents me from copying data into it. What can I do? It does however, show up in itunes so that is not a problem. Only started happening after I got mountain lion. If that helps.

If you updated the desktop installer and the screen is blank: try this:
Rename the opm.db file.
Close the Creative Cloud application if it's running.
Navigate to the OOBE folder.
Windows: [System drive]:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
Mac OS: /User/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder
Rename the opm.db file to opm_old.db
Launch Creative Cloud

My macbook does not recognize Canon SD1000. Camera goes to transfer mode and it looks like the problem is the computer. Finder do not show the camera at all. (I am not using any programs, iphoto etc...).
Instead GarageBand recognize my keyboard and i can play normally, also, if it can help, those are the Audio and Midi Logic Preferences and the Controller Surfaces Setup with the keyboard connected :

How do i repair or recover data from a corrupt USB external hard drive that does not show up on my Mac desktop or disk utility?
Last night i was using my external hard drive, for some reason the folder just closed and i couldn't find it on my desktop.
After googling solutions, i found it in the disk utilities, i clicked on the 'repair' button many times, but it said the 'error...' message.
So i ejected it to try again, now when i connect the USB external hard drive it doesn't show up on my desktop or disk utilities.
I really just want to either repair or recover the data on it because it literally has everything (documents, work files, photos etc) on it,
I downloaded an application to recover my files but it needs the USB to at least show up.recognise it which mine doesn't.
I know i should've backed it up on another USB, this definitely teaches me for next time to back up all my files.
Are the files lost forever or can i recover them by going to a shop or using a software?Thank you for responding.

Do you have Automatic downloads enabled? Note this only works for items purchased after it is enabled.

USB External drive not showing in Finder, or on Desktop
I have two USB external drives from the same manufacturer. One is for regular storage, the second is for Time Machine and movies.
The first one shows everywhere, on the desktop, in finder and in Disk Utility.
The second drive shows in Disk Utility only. However, it is functioning fine with Time Machine. So it is mounted. I have tried several repairs, and it reports no fault found. So it is certainly functioning correctly, but a setting or error in the operating system is not allowing it to be viewed in finder, or on the desktop.
Any suggestions.Correction: Title should be Firewire External drive not showing in Finder, or on Desktop.

Since I migrated my files from one Mac to another and am now running Yosemite, Photoshop Elements 9 (adequate for what I do) is not showing the previous functionality on some of the tools. I have uninstalled/reinstalled twice to no avail. Is there a fix? Also, when I tried to update, it comes up with this error.
I have a similar problem. I found out that my macbook air created a new USER with my former's computer user name. You can check that by going into System Preferences -> User & Groups, and see if a "Other user" has been created. You have to login under this new USER to find your transferred contacts in the address book.
My problem is that I do not know how to merge the 2 USER logins or transfer the data from the new USER created into the existing one. -
