Not so high Vcore gets red in bios and DualCC

Hi,
I have P35 Platinum Combo with e8500 on it.
I've set the system on 3.6Ghz (380*9.5)
I noticed that Vcore voltage above 1.21v gets red in bios and Dual Core Center.
At the moment Vcore is 1.225v in bios (red) and (after Vdrop) it's 1.21 (yelow) in DCC.
If i increase it one step further in bios (to 1.25v)/already red on 1.225/, it gets red (1.22 Vdroped) in DualCoreCenter as well.
Why all these yellows and reds for such low voltages?
Can i safely go with the red (yellow) ones? 1.22v doesn't seem so high for e8500.

Disconnect AC
Shutdown
Remove battery
Connect AC
Startup
Open Device Manager
Click the plus (+) sign next to Batteries category, right-click all of the "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" listings, and select Uninstall In the "Confirm Device Uninstall" dialog box, click OK. (it’s ok if you only have 1 of these).
Click the plus (+) sign next to System Devices.
Right-click the “ACPI Fixed Features Button" and select Uninstall. In the "Confirm Device Uninstall" dialog box, click OK.
Shutdown
Disconnect AC
Insert battery
Connect AC
Startup

and i find many people have met the same thing. But they are spartan series FPGA and i try to low the Resistances of Mode pins,M0 M1 and M2, but the problem does not been solved.
I have read the status Registers and find there is an over-temperature state
and in Impact i could not readback the registers. It is strange.
I am anxious about this problem and have not solved it yet
What reasons may it be?

It seems that you have selected the correct mode, assuming your jumpers are set as required in the ML605 Hardware User's Guide. See table 1-27, table 1-33 and the note below it about switch S1.
I'm not that familiar with the details of this reference design, but it may be that the slave SelectMap circuitry requires a reset or power cycle to actually configure the FPGA. Have you tried power-cycling to see if the FPGA boots from the flash?
I'd also suggest that you select the V6 in the JTAG chain view, then go to the debug menu of Impact and select Read Device Status (this is from memory, but it's something like that). That will not only show the bits of the configuration status register, but also describe what each bit means. Among other things you can check the state of the FPGA's configuration logic and the Mode pins.

Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost.

Sound not working on dm4-2070us Notebook after BIOS and HP Support Assistant

The sound on my dm4-2070us Pavilion notebook has stopped funcitoning after this evening's BIOS and HP Support Assistant updates. I am running Windows 7, 64-bit. After the update, a driver update was installed for the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. The update installed fine and is enabled, however, I hear nothing when testing sounds on through my laptop speakers. Any advice? I tried rolling back the driver, but that did resolve the issue.

When trying to start Firefox It hangs and does not load. I get a APPLE PINWHEEL and all functions on the laptop stop. I can only power off to stop the action.

I just upgraded to Mavericks and I got a box that is title mail upgrade. I can not close it or get rid of it and it will not allow me to shut down my computer. Can anyone help

I am using virtex5 XC5VLX155 FPGA and trying to download mcs file to BPI flash and have failed.
The flash is JS28F512P30E. The iMpact version is 14.7.
FPGA's VCCINT is 1.0V, VCCAUX is 2.5V. VCCO is 3.3V.
M[2:0] is 010 in Master BPI. Ican program FPGA through JTAG. The FPGA_DONE pin 's LED can always flash.

I can read ack the mcs file, but the file is much bigger than the original mcs file.
The flash datasheet is in the attachment.
I want to use the Master BPI mode. In BPI_UP, the address starts at 0 and increments by 1 until the DONE pin is
asserted. I do not know the difference between the BPI_UP and BPI_DOWN.
ps: The R61,R62 and R63 are not weld on the board. The ADV pin is tie to VSS .

My BB won't turn on the red light flashes and the key's light up

I have read all posts relating to my problem, but one thing my BB won't do is resgister on my computer. The phone will not turn on, has the red light flashing and the keys light up, but the screen will not come on. I have tried taking the battery out, charging it all night, all the recommended/ideas from this sight, but no joy. I have only had this phone since July last year. I haven't been able to try updating phone etc as it won't register on my or my husbands computer please help

The way you presented it made me think it had just happened.
So you have had the phone since July has it ever worked?
Most likely you are missing some or all of your device OS and you'll need to reload the device.
Because the phone can't generate enough signal you will have to "force detect it". I've attached the link below. If you want to proceed I'll need what version of Device OS and what version of desktop manager software.

Vcore in 3.7mod BIOS Challenge for Aicjofs :)

I know that youve been asked before about the Vcore settings in the bios for the K8N neo4, but I thought Id bring up the subject again just in case there is new info. Its my understanding that the bios is locked down for Vcore voltage based on the chip your running and I think it was 1.65 maximum no matter what. Just wondering if you figured out how to unlock that setting so that no matter what CPU is there, you can run it up to 1.65 volts.
Im having the issue where I set the Vcore to the max of 1.4 volts for my CPU and overvolt of 9.9% (Total set of 1.539 volts) but in CPUZ it shows as 1.488-1.5. Now Im pretty sure this means my PSU is at its max even though theres no change in the other voltages, probably going to have to get another PSU........again :(
But I would still like to try to get into the Mid 1.5 volt range or higher for overclocking reasons. Power need more power

Opps I just now saw this...
Here is the low down on what I know.
- Voltage regulator overvolt protection is ~1.7v
- Voltage regulator is 3 phase, and not quite as high quality.
- CPUz and the MSI board don't match up. The only way to see for sure is but a multimeter on the board.
- The Vcore is somewhat unstable compared to other boards.
- My board seems to undervolt, and it seems others have the same issue, why yet others don't.
More each of these points again...
- I don't see MSI giving us 1.7 for the obvious reason. Another thought on that, if the overvolt is at ~1.7v then 1.6v is probably somewhere near the max stable for this design and it's longevity(Most systems set OVP at 5-10% above what the system is designed for under normal load).
- 3 phase power and it's implementation on this board is probably the reason of the less stable Vcore compared to other boards with 4 phase or more.
- Like I said the only way to know for sure is to hook up strait to the board. In my particular case the voltage was closer to the lower CPUz value then Core Center/BIOS.
- Seems the 3 phase problem again(not really a problem it's just the design). Although if you have wild swings there is a problem.
- The undervolting is bad because the general concensus for A64 90nms seem to be 1.6v max in the OC community. Our boards only do 1.59v on the best day and if they undervolt you can't attempt to maximize your overclock.
So now the BIOS thing. It's there, the code is written into the BIOS, it's selectable. The problem is somewhere before the menu code there is something that locks out these higher values based on what CPU is installed, or possibly what the max VID is. Since ours are 1.3-1.4 then the options aren't available.
I have talked with other BIOS modders that do MSI stuff, and 2 of them called it "super" locked. Which really means if we were good enough could be unlocked but that requires more disassembly then is worth it. There are guys that could do it easy, but getting their time, especially for an MSI board is limited.
Like I said, it's there...
But Wagon, what happens if you set 1.45 and 9.9%? Should give you 1.595 in theory and probably about 1.53-1.55 in CPUz.

Higher Vcore? 645 ultra

Is it possible for MSI to release a BIOS with a higher vcore? I have read on this forum that intel stated the northwoods can handle more than 1.7v. If so why hasnt MSI raised their Vcore from 1.6? I have seen a vast amount of posts from MSI customers asking for a higher Vcore. The only reasons I can think of are that the 645 Ultra cannot handle a higher voltage or MSI isnt getting our requests. To clarify which board I own it is the MSI 6547 Ver. 1 AKA MSI 645 Ultra 333. Well you may be at the limit of your cpu, I personally wouldnt go higher than 1.75 volts ( which is really 1.7v because this board undervolts by .05v). I also think that the chipset can't handle much past 150 mhz not too mention how out of spec the pci and agp bus is (if anyone has taken this chipset significantly higher I'd like to see it). Also I had a Asus P3V4X (coppermine slot 1 mobo) and it was often suggested to put a heatsink on the clock generator chip (right by the ram slots, stick your finger on it and you'll see what I mean) to get higher fsb overclocking which indeed worked. Now I havent tried it on this motherboard because I ripped it off said motherboard and put it on my Diamond MX300 sound card (Aureal chip) because it was sputtering at high fsb overclocking (which solved that problem as well).

MSI control causes higher vcore under load

Why does Msi control center cause a higher vcore load than I set, by around 0.03-0.04 when overclocking in the bios I get lower vcore under load by 0.04?
