Not starting up at all..

Hi guys, I bought a new hard drive and ram for my mbp, so I figured I'd install it myself after reading some guides. I opened it up, but was missing the right screwdriver to actually remove anything so I closed it back up. I was really careful not to mess with anything. So when I reclosed it I figured I'd switch the ram. Did that, but I'm not totally sure I put the sticks in at the right angle. Anyways so I started it up and only got beeps. I'm typing this on my itouch as I'm basically screwed without my mac. If I have to get it checked, I will, but there are no close apple stores so it's not ideal. Any ideas what the problem probably is? I know I'm dumb and should have just gotten everything installed, just not sure what I could possibly have done since all I did was look inside basically, plus I'm not sure how picky the ram slots are. Anyways, I really appreciate anyone offering their expertise!

Beeps mean the ram is either faulty or not installed properly.

Firefox will not start - already tried all suggestions from troubleshooting

I searched google and here a couple times before posting this. My problem is simple, firefox just will not start. I can click on the shortcut, or the icon inside the c/program files/mozilla folder, i can click "run as administrator", i can do run/firefox.exe, and I can do all of these in safe mode, and still none of them work.
For each time that I do try to start it, it will be running in processes so sometimes I'll have 3 or 4 firefox.exe running but it is not actually showing up anywhere.
I already tried going to run/firefox.exe -p to create a new profile and that doesnt work either, because when I do it, nothing happens. I enter firefox.exe -p in the run command box, click enter, and.....nothing , not even the hourglass. I have tried doing it in regular and safe mode also. nothing.
I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling back when this first started happening, it was the first thing I did but no luck.
Also, one thing : 99% of the time nothing at all happens when i try to run firefox. When my computer is in safe mode though, and only if I click "run as administrator" on the firefox icon that is in the program files/mozilla folder, it says "a device attached to the system is not functioning." Thats the only time I ever got a error message though, every other time, and if I click on the shortcut or the start menu icon, nothing will happen, and if i do it outside of safe mode. The only time I get this message is in safe mode and when i click on the icon in the program files mozilla folder.
I read through the troubleshooting article on here and couldnt find any help, so I am hoping someone here can help me out since i f'ing HATE internet explorer, and safari is OK but I prefer firefox, and now safari is starting to give me trouble too so I would really just love to get back with my firefox. hope you can help me. thanks.

Try a reset first. Press and hold both the home and power buttons 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till your iPad starts on it's own.

Java pms - playstation media server not starting correctly/at all

dont' know if it's the right forum, but i guess since it's a multimedia application, i thought i go best here.
i just downloaded and installed the playstation media server from the AUR and installation went fine and all deps are installed.
then i wanted to start that thing, but it didn't quite work like i expectet. i started it from dmenu and it popped up a window without anyting in it. so tried to start it from the console to see the output. so here it is:

as you can see, you can see nothing. i tried to mess around with folder/file permissions in opt/pms like it was suggested in the comments from the aur page - didn't change anything.
so i tried the tar.gz from the official webpage - but with the same result.
the problem in the console output, pms not being able to bind on port, isn't even the first problem, since i can't change the port without a GUI. so i wonder how to bring it up correctly.
i'm using arch x32 with kernel 2.6.32 and currently openjdk6 1.6.2-1
could it be some problem with the java vm or some wrong versioning? or am i missing some other things? if anyone could come up with help and/or solution, i'd be very happy ^^;

ITunes will not start up at all: Anyone heard of this problem before??

i have just formatted my laptop, reinstalled vista and patched it up, i think i have all the updates for it at the minute. i came to download and install itunes 8, it went in fine, then started up for the first time again, populated the play list an then went to sync up my touch, my laptop will recognise it and open the autoplay, however itunes never registered it, so i shut everything down and restarted, now whenever i try to open itunes both through the start menu and desktop icons but it just will not open. Task manager shows it as running and using memory but the program wont actually open, have tried uninstalling, reinstalling and restarting pc and trying it on another user, non of which have worked. Anyone heard of this or have any advice?

Try this. Disconnect the power cord from the Mac. Now hold the Mac's power button for 10 seconds. Plug the cord back into the Mac and try starting. If this doesn't work (and other things plugged into the wall plug do work) then you are due for a trip to the local Apple store.

Intergated WLS not starting after enabling all "Debug" flags

I have JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 with Integrated Weblogic Server. I had enabled all "Debug" flags in WLS servers and now after the required bounce, it is not coming up. I should not have enabled all "Debug" options, but I'm just unable to login to disable it.
Is there any way to get around this issue?

Also check if you could comment the below similar elements in the config.xml and restart the server, if you have not maintained the backup copy of the configuration file.

If the server still fails to start, please check the server log , for any critical issues or errors and revert back with the details or error stack trace to further assist you.

I think it may be due to me stupidly downloading XAMPP as well as MAMP and now Firefox won't open. It tries to restore all tabs at start up but goes straight to Mozilla crash report. I can't start it in safe mode because it won't even open. Tried downloading Firefox again but hasn't worked.

Try manually removing that addon / extension.

IPhone Will Not Start Up At All

I've tried everything I can think of. Soft reset, hard reset, charging it. Nothing will get it past the apple logo before it turns itself off again.
It all started from me un-installing the facebook app. As I went to reinstall it (it was a bit buggy before), it froze. I tried to just turn it off, but the red bar didn't appear, so I went for a hard reset and it hasn't been back on since.
If anyone could help that would be great.

What problems are you having with the install? Any visible information when you try to start it?

(Remember it has known security flaws and surf safe.)
Three things to try:
1) Start with .14 in safe mode. There should be a Safe Mode start-up link in the programs menu, or you can add -safe-mode to the shortcut.
2) Start .14 with profile manager and create a new profile (add -profilemanager to the shortcut).
3) Uninstall and reinstall Firefox .14.
If a new profile solves your problem but want to keep some of your old profile try this: 1) install .13 2) add the Firefox Sync extension, create an account, and save the profile, 3) install .14, create a clean profile 4) install Sync and pull over your saved profile.
The steps in the previous paragraph might not work: Step 4 might prevent the new profile from working (if it copies the bad state). You may need to experiment and only pull over part of the profile. Pulling over everything but the preferences is probably what will solve this type of problem.

Finder folder with question mark, now will not start at all!!!

Hey guys, I was working in Avid and i opened up Quicktime, all of a sudden i got a crash log. So i restarted, upon restart i got the finder folder with the blinking question mark. I tried restarting with the OS9 cd by holding down the C button, no luck there. So i moved onto the next step, resetting the PRAM, no luck there (just sat on black for numerous minutes until i let up, then the folder came back). Then I moved onto resetting th PMU, now it will not start up at all. I restart, and all i see is a black screen, nothing. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ok let me clarify this.
1)system crashed restarted and got the folder with the ?
2) tried to boot from the OS 9 CD no luck? it did not boot?
3)reset pram and still the flashing ?
4) Reset the PMU chip and the mac is dead won't start up at all?
a couple of ideas too...
did you press the pmu button more than once?
Check to make sure the power cord is plugged in correctly etc.
Check the Pram battery to see if it might be dead it should read between 3.3v and 3.7v
also try to restart the computer without other devices plugged into it (USB Firewire, keyboard, even monitor.

ITunes will not start: Get same error message ever time...

I installed iTunes 6 and quicktime and now it will not start up at all. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling as many have. The only difference is I am actually getting an error message. I do not get an hour glass as many have. I have tried deleting the suggested file found at: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info
This did not work either. I keep getting the following error window, and never see iTunes even try to launch: PLEASE HELP!!!!

the first thing i check for with one of those is a broken quicktime. does your quicktime currently launch? if it doesn't, try these techniques:

Tried to replace RAM but now computer not starting...PowerMac G5 dual 2.0 - are my hard drives safe? What's up?

Hello - I tried to increase the RAM in my old and trusted Power Mac G5 (dual 2.0...2005) tonight and now I'm in trouble. It has only 4 slots for RAM. It came installed with 2X256 and 2X512 ram cards. I bought 2X 1GB of Ram from Crucial.com after sending them the specs of my computer they assured me it was the right RAM. I installed the RAM just how the youtube tutorials instructed.... I replaced the 2 256 cards with the new 1GB cards and closed up the computer......note: I also "dusted" the inside of the mac very carefully and lightly with a barely damp rag.....
I plugged her in and the power button light immediately went on but the computer did not. The button wouldn't respond to being held down either. No sign of a startup or a fan noise. Nothing on the screen, no signal.... Nothing..... So I tried reversing the order of the RAM, I installed the 1GB along with the 512's. Nothing again, just the light turns on when I plug her in. Then I returned the RAM to the original configuration.....again NOTHING...just the light on.
I reset the SMU. (little button underneath the RAM area) I haven't tried to reset the PRAM yet, but I'm pretty sure that will not work either as she is not starting up at all....just the light is on... I didn't get a noticeable shock or static spark during the entire operation either. ****....whats up?
Are my Hard Drives safe in there?

Ouch! That was not the way to get dust out. Running that damp rag anywhere near an electronic component, even if you were wearing a properly grounded writs strap, was way dangerous.
Did you lay the machine on its left side when you replaced the RAM? That is much safer (though the recommendation only shows up in the service documentation, not the user guide, for some reason).
What I would do at this point is to remove all RAM and try to power the machine. If other stuff is OK, you won't start but you will see the lunar LED flashing in a repetitive pattern above the power switch. If you don't see that happening, then things are exceptionally serious.

Creative Cloud Does Not Start - Help!

If anyone from Adobe is watching this. I was considering switching from Aperture to Lightroom CC. I was able to install the trial and it works fine. However, all of a sudden, Adobe Creative Cloud App will not run. The icon appears for a moment then disappears.
I have tried almost everything listed here - installing and uninstalling, Creative Cloud Cleaner, running as root, running in a new admin account and so on. All are no goes.
I really would like to be your customer, but since I can't get live support, and I am not going to sign up only to find the paid CC does not work either, I hope you are able to help me.

Hope this helps someone in the same situation. (This is for a Mac, OS 10.9.5)
This is what I did.
Started the computer in SAFE MODE, Creative Cloud Desktop (CCD) started.
Restarted under regular user mode. CCD did not start.
Removed all login items from System Preferences > Users & Groups (I think this step could be skipped and only tried if the following doesn't work.)
Go to Library folder. Rename LaunchAgents folder to LaunchAgents_old and Launch Daemons folder to Launch Daemons_old
Create new folders called LaunchAgents and Launch Daemons.
Move all items NOT containing the name Adobe from the "old" folders and put them in their respective new folders.
Go to ~/Library and do the same thing with LaunchAgents folder.
Restart the computer and see if CCD opens. Mine DID!!!
Using the uninstall Creative Cloud, uninstall. Then reinstall CCD. (This should put new items in the LaunchAgent folders.)
Restart the computer and see if CCD works. Mine Did and I seem to be good to go.
