  • PS CC 2014 does not start up correctly

    hi,
I'm trying to rum PS CC 2014. After starting it stops quickly giving the message "could not initialize Photoshop due to a program error". I tried all not to technical things like reinstalling, logging of, ... Even tried to find the install log but couldn't find it.
Lightroom runs perfect. Had the same problem with PS CC previous version. Did use CS5 because I had no time to solve the problem. Now I m eager to use PS CC but it does not start up.
    Anybody?
    thanks!

make sure you have no 3rd party plugins starting and reset your preferences by holding down shift-ctrl-alt (win) or shift-cmd-alt (mac) while starting ps.  if done correctly, you'll see a confirmation dialog.
if that fails, uninstall, clean and reinstall per Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6

  • Imac G5 will not start up correctly? invalid directory count 52 instead of 53

Hi, i have a Imac G5. it had been working fine for many years untill a year or 2 ago when it stopped all of a sudden and just would not start up as it should. instead, it went to this grey screen with horizontal lines. eventually after trying just about every combination of keys held down on startup, the only way i could get the mac to restart was by starting it in safe mode. (at this point i rescued all my photos and music and moved them onto my macbook pro) i thought it was working fine in safe mode untill i realised that it could not connect to the internet, the sound would not work at all, and when i went to preferances it could not find any output device for the sound. it also keeps coming up with a message saying that my internet communication device does not exist. allot of the programs worked fine, such as word, or photoshop, whereas others would not. i verified the disk, and discored that it would not let me repair it.
    Invalid directory count
it should be 53 instead of 52)
    checking attributes file
    checking volume bitmap
    checking volume information
    repaired.",1)
    macintosh hd
error: the underlying task reported failure on exit
    HSF volume checked
    volume needs repair
it then came up with a message saying that he disk utility stopped verifying the macintosh hd because of it reporting the failure on exit.
i have tried doing this a few times but the exact same result is gained
i tryed using disk repair whilst starting up from the original install disk, but this also did not fix the problem. eventually, i decided to reinstall the os x 10.4.11. this had absolutely no effect, and i am at the same point. i would be very gratefull if anybody would be able to come up with any ideas of how i could fix this problem?
additional details: i have tried using the proxy reset
i have also tried running a apple hardware test
i have tried repairing the macintosh hd disk using the original install disks
also: all of the sockets at the back work fine, e.g. usb, but the microphone and headphone sockets do not work.
    it will read disks fine

but this also did not fix the problem. eventually, i decided to reinstall the os x 10.4.11. this had absolutely no effect,
I'd have guess you reformated at that time. The file system is messed up.  You need to reformat.
Format a disk using the installation DVD
To format  the startup drive, you will need to run disk utility from your installation DVD.
This article  will tell you how to get to disk utility.  Once in a disk utility, you can go and format the disk.

  • My Macbook Pro, circa 2007, does not start up correctly.  It gets stuck opening Finder.   Does this sound like a Hard Drive or other hardware?

Hello.  Need a little help. My Mac Book Pro is having start-up issues.  I am running Snow Leopard on this computer.  It is bootcamped up to run a PC portion as well.  I started having this problem a few weeks ago.  I tried to back up the drive, but it would not even let me do that.  I wiped it clean (I had a relatively new back-up and it is secondary computer) and reinstalled the OS.  It worked well for a couple of days, but started getting held up with opening the Finder on start-up and it woudl just get stuck.  I am more than willing to pull the drive and install a new hard drive, but that might not be the main issue so I am looking for some assistance before the next wipe out.
When it was working for a couple of days, I tried to install OS X Lion, but it would not allow me to do so (some installation failure).
Anyway, should I retire this computer or install a new harddrive....
    Any advice is welcome.
    Dan

a brody, I will take a look.  The internal drive works (i.e., the battery, it spins, etc.) it just has a bit of trouble recognizing all CD's so I tend to use the external one since it works consistently.  Do you still think this might be the issue?  The apple store told me a week after my extended warranty ran out that the drive should be replaced but that an external drive is not an isse, but that was a while back and this problem just started.

    Hi shailendrafromgwalior,
If your iPhone won't turn on, you may need to plug it into to a electrical outlet using the charger and power cable that originally came with the phone for 10 - 20 minutes.  Here is some additional information.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201412
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't turn on
Your device might not start up correctly, or it might not respond when you press buttons. These steps can help.
If you see a black screenYou might need to charge your device before it can turn on. Plug in your device and let it charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad), then try turning it on.
You should see a battery icon while your device is charging. If you continue to see a black screen, reset your device. Get more helpIf you still need help after trying the steps above, contact Apple Support.

  • Computer will not start up past "repair screen"

My hp pavilion touch will not start up correctly. When turned on it tries to go through an automatic repair but pops up with a screen that says "automatic repair couldn't repair your pc. Two options you can either shut it down or go to advanced options. So far no matter what I do I can not get it to finish starting up or repair itself.

    Hi @ACOKAY,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
It is a fantastic place to find answers and suggestions!
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
I understand that when you start your computer you get the automatic repair screen and neither option presented makes any change.
Can you start it in safe mode?
If not I would suggest going to the recovery manager for more options
On start up of your notebook press the F11 key approximately once every second to access the recovery manager.  This may take a few moments to display so be patient.
You will see different options available depending on what Operating System you are running.
For further assistance please provide your exact model of HP notebook and your Operating System.
    Good Luck!

Hi guys. I tried MadCat's advise of the vesa driver, and it works! I can now run gnome and everything.. kb and mouse work too. However I would really like to run the nvidia driver. Not sure why it's not working. =[
Hal is indeed running (which i understand invokes dbus if it cant find it?) If i try to start dbus manually, and then hal, i cannot start hal - it fails. Starting only Hal works fine.

  • My start Volume is full. I cleanded it to late. Now is he not starting correctly. The screen is white. what can i do to come to the Desktop?

What do you mean by you "cleaned" it?
Try booting into Safe Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564
If you can boot into Safe Mode, try clearing off some space while booted there.

  • "Plugin did not start correctly" error message

I have the current version of Photomatix Pro loaded as an HDR plugin for Lightroom 3.0.  When I try to export the series of images from Lightroom to Photmatix, I get the following message:
         Info
              Plugin did not start correctly
Please check whether you invoked the plugin by choosing 'File > Plug-in Extras'
The process that I used in Lightroom was to hold down CTRL and select the 5 images while in Lightroom 3.0.  The I right clicked, went to Export and then to Photomatix Pro which appears in the list.  After doing this, I receive the above message.
The way that I installed the software was to first have Lightroom 3.0 installed and updated.  Then I installed the Photomatix Pro software and answered the question during installation that I wanted to use it as a plugin in LR.  That was it.
I just discovered something.  In LR I went to File, Plugin Extras, Export to Photomatix Pro and this worked!!!!  There is evidently a problem with the right click, export to a plugin.  Don't know how to pass this on to the developers so if someone does, please do so.
      Thanks, Don

Hello @jimboware and welcome to the HP Forums!
As far as I'm aware, there is no Windows 6, did you perhaps mean Windows 7? This What's My OS link will help if you'd like
When you're starting the install, do you plug in the USB cable before the software asks for it?
Let me know that information and we'll go from there!
