Not sure if its me... or Itunes 7

I've got itunes 7 installed and so far it runs OK. I'm not getting any of the problems other people seem to be having...(famous last words)
HOWEVER
I insert my ipod (30gb 5th Gen)
i tunes tell me the software need updating, I click "update" after 30-45 second I get a message that basically tell me that another application is using the ipod and itunes can't update it.
my ipod is showing in "my computer" as a removable drive but disk mode isn't enabled on the ipod summary (within itunes)
Am i being a numpty here and just missing something REALLY obvious ? are other people having the same problem ?
has itunes struck again ?

settigns>itunes and app store to make sure you are signed in.. If you are, you will see your account name..... anyhow, click your account name, sign out and sign back in
also go to to settings>general>reset and reset network settings... if that doesnt work settings>general>reset and reset all settings!
one of those shall work. The last step would be to restore your device (apple.com/support) HT1414

HELP! Resetting all setting on iphone 5, but then i tried to restart it. Not sure if its stuck or resetting

Hi if you seen my previous post, or you might have not. My safari app isn't working and the setting for safari in setting insn't responding. I reset all setting hoping this would work and fix the problem. However, i held both the home and off button because i didn't want to do the reset anymore because i was stuck at one place for a long time. the reset with the home did happen, but the resetting all setting is still happening and progress bar hasn't move. Im not sure if its stuck or if its just taking a while.

Lojack for laptops - if that is the product you purchased and installed, you will need to read the user manual or contact the manufacturer as it is 3rd party. You did file a police report right?

Bought 64gb playbook from amazon and not sure if its new or refurbished.

Bought 64gb playbook from amazon for my daughter and not sure if its new or refurbished. Tablet has small fine scratches on the back, hair stuck in the casing, no screen protector, brown adaptor box has had label of some kind removed, adapter inside is loosely bound. Amazon supplier advises me to return but also that it isn't supplied with a screen protector or cover and adapter is new and packaged in a brown box. Not sure whether to accept a replacement or just get a refund. A bit concerned that this is a refurbished item being supplied as new.

Updated but not sure if its right

i updated my firmware version for my N97 from 10.0.012 > 11.0.021 but im not sure if its right, when i do *#0000# it shows my new version of the software, but my internal memory stays intact, i did not lose any files(even though i did a backup) is that alright? did any of u guys have the memory wipedout after the update? help pls asap im very new to this

HT4623 My ipod4 doesn't have the 'Software Update' how do I update it without that? I'm not sure if its like ios 4.1 or 4.3 etc but It is a ios4 .

Black macbook: not sure if its the fan, or something else (noise)

I got this macbook is september. I had no issues with it, when suddenly it began making noises. Now, I'm a gadget-blog reader, so I've been aware of Macbooks making the "moooo" sound from the fan; however, I'm not sure if my noise is the fan or something else. I get more of a "whrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" noise.
1) I have the macbook plugged in
2) I leave it on all the time
3) It began to hear the "whrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" when:
a) activate visualizer in iTUNES
b) download shows off iTUNES
c) have a bunch of windows open and the 512MB Memory is struggling to access each window, if I say, I want to close them.
Considering this is the uncrashable, flexible, awesome OSX, and should be pesk-free, like say WINXP...I would expect such problems to not exist on the glossy OSX.
I'm currently studying abroad in the United Kingdom. I bought this macbook in San Francisco just before I left. I have plenty of warranty left. Is this a big issue? It annoys the **** out of me. None of the macbooks demoed in the store had this problem. So in a way, this is false advertising, since I'm reading that a lot of people have this noise issue.
I've fully updated my firmwares with software updater, but I still get the noise. So I'm at situation that needs some outside help as to what I should do.

Not sure how to back up itunes

help! in the instructions i keep finding to do this, they all say to select File >library >back up to disc but when i click on file, the library option isnt one of them so im not sure how to go about making the discs? any help is appreciated

I have passed following parameters.

My program doesn't show any error.
But I am not sure if it's really executing in background....how to find out?
I have checked in SM37 and my
duration time is 0
delay time is 25 secs
status - released
startdate & time is empty.
Does this mean it never ran in background?

In SM37 i have
Status as : canceled.
have start time
have start date.
duration as 567
delay as 60 secs.
which is better that what i have done previously....Now i get the duration time, start date, start time.
How can i escape from "canceled"?

Nokia n95 not sure if its for me

Hi I just recently got the N95. I wanted to stay with nokia but really only bought it for the camera, don't really need most of the applications and the battery life is rubbish. Thinking about the 6500 slide. Anyone got any ideas?? I do like the phone but friend has the 6500 and happy with the camera.

Thank you I have just been lookin at that and like the candybar as that was my last phone. The style of the buttons are putting me off tho, ARGGG!!it sounds perfect aswell. I do a hell of a lot of texting and not sure about these buttons.

Not sure if its new itunes or new ipod nano

At first I plugged the ipod in and had no problem loading my songs on. I disconnected it and listened to it for about an hour before plugging back in to make some playlists. That's when the new Itunes started downloading and everything went crazy. When it restarted it took about 15 additional minutes and my monitor was tinted blue, then when I tried to open itunes, it said quicktime wasnt present and that I needed to reinstall itunes, did that and then it wouldnt recognize my ipod in the computer, then the screen went from blue to black, so I pulled the plug and then for the rest of the night my ipod was frozen with a black screen. When I woke up the battery was dead and I recharged it and then it worked fine. I had downloaded the new itunes on my laptop while all that was going on last night. I then connected my ipod to my laptop and the vocals on my songs were inaudible but all the instrumentals were fine. Then I unconnected it from my laptop and the ipod works fine again. Which one is ***** up and what should I do? Thanks

IPhone 3gs problem i'm not sure if its bricked or not

Hello, my iphone suddenly wont turn on but when i put it on charge it turns but only the iphoen screen where it shows the itunes logo indacting u to plug iphone into itunes pops up but when i connect iphone to a computer it doesnt recongnize the iphone until i put it in recovery mode then it reccognize is it and connects and asks for a restore. When i attempt the restore it extracts update package and after its doen that thats when the iphone switches off and turns back and and it jsut keeps on switching on and off and for about 3-4 times and then an error messager comes up sayin "the iphone "iphone" can not be restored. An unknow error occured (1611) and thats when the iphone turns back opn and it shows the itunes logo indicating connect to itunes. Whats wron g with the phone and how can i fix this problem? Is it permanetly broke? how can i fix this? Thanks for al the help.

Error 1611 indicates a hardware failure. You will not be able to restore your phone if, in fact, it has suffered a hardware failure. To confirm, try restoring on a different computer. If you get the same error, this would tend to confirm a hardware failure. If under warranty, make an appointment at an Apple store to have your phone replaced. If out of warranty, Apple has an out of warranty replacement program, cost in the US is $199 or you can google third party repair shops in your area.
